This place was excellent! Service was wonderful. Started with the Old Fashion and The Commuter. Followed by the Pinot Gris for dinner. The crostini with garlic and chèvre was great! Just didn't eat the garlic whole. Dinner included salmon and braise lamb and I cannot articulate how wonderful the food was. However if you are looking for a quick bite, this is not your place. If you want to enjoy the art of dinning and enjoying the pleasure of your company....this is the place to go!

I was disappointed, but I had very high expectations. Service was wonderful. Wine list is great. Food was not enough, overall, for a higher rating. (And I am not talking about quantity.) I appreciate a lot about the place, but it isn't going into my restaurant roundhouse this time.

This place is really cute and cozy. Cute for a date. But I agree with some other comments the food portion were tiny for the price. We first had a lot of small plates and then we got the entree. If I were to get the entree alone, I wouldn't have been satisfied. But the quality of food is pretty good

I could not leave this place without a review. Wow!! Great farm to table food. Well made and perfectly seasoned. This is a small quite restaurant that has the feel of an inner city bistro. Service is quick, polite and knowledgeable. They have a menu of great signature drinks, local beers and very good wines. Homemade crusty bread with fresh whipped butter finished with seasalt. Fantastic balance. Sets the stage to let you know you are in for a thoughtful meal. We had two entrées that my husband and I shared. We couldn't decide between the ocean fresh salmon that was perfectly cooked or the farm fresh lamb that melted in our mouths. The very best thing we ate if the above wasn't wonderful enough was the EarlGrey crembrulle. OMG! You must order this. We plan on visiting regularly.

LUC hit the mark yet again. They are by far the best restaurant in Corvallis as far as quality of food and creativity. Service is good as well. We had a birthday dinner there on 2/28/15. It was a perfect venue for that. Our server (who's name I forgot) was trusted with wine pairings with our apps and entrees. She nailed it. As far as apps go, the salad, raw oysters, and bone marrow was great. I'm glad the bone marrow stays as a regular menu item. It's sounds gross, but it's kind of like a cross between butter and foie gras. Mmmm. And they serve it with capers and crusty bread. My partner had the scallops, which were awesome (only odd-ish thing about that was pairing with lentil beans. Together that was odd, but separate, good). I had the steak and duck fat fries. Mmmmm. I don't remember what the "relish" was on the steak, but it was amazing. Heck, I could go into LUC and just eat the bread and butter and be happy. Didn't have desserts that night (we hit a different venue for that), but the ones I've had in the past always are good. Keep on the good work, LUC!

I love this place... One of the better places in Corvallis. Nice drink list (its all old-timey drinks you never see!) and we love the different menus everytime we go in! the only reason this was a 4 star instead of a 5, is the chef uses WAY TOO MUCH SALT. I love salt and this place made us a bit thirsty.

Quiet, relaxed ambience, exceptional food and amazing attention to detail. If you want a place that focuses on locally sourced food and wine, and plates prepared expertly, you will want to try Luc. This is our go-to restaurant for special occasions; for those lucky enough to sample their changing menus weekly, we applaud your choice. Go have dinner at Luc. You will NOT be disappointed!

Had a great new year's eve dinner there last night. It was packed, but the service was still warm and welcoming. I'm sure that they were overwhelmed, but it certainly didn't show. Our drinks were perfect, the food was spot on. Definitely the best restaurant in Corvallis. I love Luc.

Imagine if Beatrix Potter had left her career as a writer of children's novels and become an interior designer, you'll get a picture of the interior look and feel at Luc -- it's beautiful and completely charming. We took my son-in-law here for a birthday dinner and had a splendid time. The drinks were excellent (I had The Commuter, which was divine). The food menu changes, so it's not relevant what we ordered but to say that everything we ordered was cooked perfectly. There are plenty of gluten-free and at least one (delicious) entree that can be made vegan. My son-in-law also has a severe allergy to pepper and chilies and they were easily able to accommodate him, so I suspect they are able to accommodate other food allergies as well. We had a flour less chocolate torte and the mandarin creme brulee for dessert. The torte was only so-so but the creme brulee was excellent. Service was attentive but not over bearing. I can't really speak to the noise level becuase they were very slow the evening we were there (probably because it was super bowl weekend), but it was very quiet duirng our meal. Perfect place for a special occasion dinner. We will be back.

Food was devine and the atmosphere was lovely. My only criticism was that we arrived for a 6pm reservation a little late , the restaurant was fairly empty and we were seated right next to another table full of people. The place never really filled up two hours later. Why could the spacing have been better? I should have asked to be moved I guess.

Would give 3 1/2 stars if possible.. Food was good, not great. Neat decor. Nice enough staff just not organized. Service very disappointing. For a small place, very little attention to details like no water, no bread, and extra plates still sitting on table. Agree with review on 10/25.

I was disappointed at my experience at Luc for several reasons. First, we made a reservation for a Friday night and we had to wait for almost 15 minutes. Then, when we were already at the table, after ordering the drinks, we were told that they were out of 2 of the 5 big plates. Third, I'm pretty sure that the pinot noir that I ordered was far beyond his best days, but as I'm not 100% confident on my wine tasting skills I sucked it up. At this point, even being a positive and optimist guy, I was starting to feel upset. One more thing to add to the list: the Ikea knife that came with the steak was really worn out and I had a hard time cutting the meat. And, finally, when we were about to order dessert to end the experience with some sugar, we were told that the were out of ALL the dessert options. Definitely way bellow what I expected from a place of this style and prices.

The best in Corvallis. Service is outstanding. You will feel that your satisfaction matters to them. Menu is interesting. Not the right place for large groups. Eight people at most

My wife and ate here because our (previous) favorite restaurant in Corvallis was closed on a Monday. Lucky for us!!! We loved the whole dining experience at Luc. We arrived with about 20 minutes left on the Happy Hour clock and were able to grab salads and a couple of glasses of wine at the discounted rate. Their house red was excellent and inexpensive and the best part, they sold us two bottles of it at yet another discounted rate when we left. The green salad had a very light balsamic vinaigrette along with cherry tomatoes and parmesan cheese. For entrées, we ordered salmon and beef. The salmon dish was listed on the menu as "King Salmon and Lapsang Souchong tea spiral with citrus beurre blanc sauce atop mashed potatoes". The salmon was done perfectly (we ordered "medium") and the beurre blanc sauce was a fantastic variation. The beef dish was presented as "Carlton tenderloin steak, blue cheese compound butter, with seared tomato and spinach. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare finish and tasted wonderful. It was seasoned just enough to make it exciting while still maintaining the wonderful flavor of the beef. The serving sizes were just perfect and while we were tempted, we were able to skip dessert this time. The atmosphere is very nice here. I would not recommend it for kids or casual dining but for a nice and somewhat romantic retreat from the world, it was excellent. We will definitely eat there again if we have the good fortune of spending more time in Corvallis.

We've only been here once, and enjoyed it. We found it to offer excellent food and service. About the only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is the location. The atmosphere is a mite sterile for my liking, and though it's fancy in a simple way, it's not what I'd call warm. Hip/cozy maybe, I can't really describe it. Good wine selection, terrific salad, and one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. I come from cattle country, and have had some great steaks; this was very very good. Walking distance to bars and restaurants, and a nice Indie theater. Costs a bit, but didn't feel it was overpriced. Satisfied and will go back.

In town for business and went to Luc based on the Yelp reviews. I was not disappointed. Atmosphere is nice and contemporary, would fit in with many places in San Francisco. Food was very good, up there with the best I have had in Corvallis. - Roasted brussel sprouts with bacon - nicely done - Vegetable root soup - creamy soup that was great for a cold night - Beef bourguignon - sort of a stew that was also very nice for a cold night No hesitation to return for another meal. In fact, the people next to me booked a new reservation on the way out.

Had been meaning to make it here for several months, and finally had the chance. Party of three, there was ample seating, the dining room is cute. It probably feels more welcoming when it's busier. Started with drinks: I had the Martinez, my friends had the Moscow mule and a Tom Collins. 1 out of 3 were happy with their choice (the Mule) We then had a cheese plate as an appetizer and ordered a second round of drinks. 2 Hendrick's and Sodas. Not good, but I am not sure how you could mess up something so simple! Food came, as for mine (polenta), it was so-so. My companions felt the same about their chicken. All in all, pretty high prices for VERY average food and really disappointing drinks. The best things we had were the slices of cheese. Bummer! Won't be trying this again. :(

The only thing Luc is missing is the letter k. Seems nobody around Corvallis actually knows how to pronounce the restaurant, which, fittingly enough, is also the predicament you are placed in while reviewing the menu. Just stumble through the pronunciation, the staff is cool and they don't mind. This is the type of hoity-toity place that has a constantly changing menu. When we dined they had a rabbit liver and kidney mousse, but no rabbit elsewhere on the menu. Don't tell me thumper died for his kidneys! That's some sadistic organ trafficking type shit! We started with the above mousse (not my cup of tea) and then the calamari salad. The salad was phenomenal, probably the highlight of the night. It comes out tasting barbecued (a la plancha) with a lime drizzle on the greens. A peppy starter with just the right amount of zest. I could go for that again. I went with a gigantore slab of tuna with a pepper/olive crust for the main course. It was served over quinoa (just to spite the starving Bolivians) and minced up eggplant thrown in. Mine and everyone else's at the table was stellar. The housemade bacon was especially scrumptious. If teachers have ever wondered why their students are so unruly and fidgety in class they are welcome to try and spend over an hour in the school house seating at Luc. Good Luc not wanting to throw gum at your neighbor after this painful session.

We ate at Luc tonight for a celebration dinner. I want to love the place, but tonight they fell just a little short. Service: Excellent. Above expectation, and I expected high. 100% or better. Wine choice: Reasonably good selection. Waitress was informative and helpful. We liked the wine we chose based on her suggestions. There are only a few options by the glass. 95% because of the very slightly limited options by the glass. Soup and Salad: We had a very good, creamy, potato-leek soup and a good salad made with fresh local greens. The greens were good but a little tough. The dressing was excellent. I had just purchased local salad today, so I know they could have had salad greens with a wider selection of texture and flavor. 95%. Meal: Mixed. My wife had a duck dish with root vegetables. Everything was good, though the meat was closer to medium than the medium rare she ordered. Too many veggies: Not really a problem. Excellent sauce. 95% for slight over-cooking. I had the beef dish in a bourguignon sauce, with a potato pavé. The meat was perfect. The sauce was a little bland and sweet, suffering mainly by contrast with the excellent meat. The potato dish was very dense and slightly undercooked. I chose not to eat more than a few bites. 80% for the relatively unpleasant potatoes. They did comp my desert, for which: Staff: 100% Desert: Interesting, good. My wife had a chocolate hazelnut torte. Quite good. 100% I chose to try an apple/hot-red-pepper pie. It was more interesting than excellent. I'll be trying similar things myself, now that the idea has been presented. The pepper flavor was very forward and slightly bitter with an immediate heat (we were warned that it was hot, and the warning was correct). The apples, though good, and properly cooked, were not able to balance the peppers. I wished for a more apple-forward flavor with subtle heat that made itself known over time. The dab of whipped cream was unsweetened with a cinnamon dusting: Worked well. Good but unexceptional crust. 85% for flavor, 100% for innovation. They use a cell-phone based credit card system which was overwhelmed by the heavy phone usage during the nearby Oregon State football game. Apparently this is a known problem, but they have so far addressed it by hoping; and by having excellent wait staff who are pleasant when they tell you why it is taking 5 minutes to do a 1 minute task. Bottom line: They're only human, but we'll be back when we can afford it.

SO disappointed! I first heard of Luc when I went wine tasting and the winery was serving some delicious appetizers prepared by Luc . When work took me to Corvallis for a week, I was excited to try Luc for dinner. It was bad. Really bad. I had the salmon. It was overcooked and bland. What little flavor it did have was like a can of tomato paste. My friend had the steak tartare, which was fine, but nothing special. He tried my dish and couldn't believe the chef would allow anything like it to leave the kitchen. On a positive note, the drinks were good. Luckily I had one before my dinner was served, which made what little I ate of the meal tolerable. To be nice, perhaps I went on an off night and got the wrong dish. But given the price and low quality of my dinner experience, I won't be back to find out.

I hate saying this, but it's pretty good, for Corvallis, I guess. I mean it's fine, but over-priced, and if this place were in a bigger city, it wouldn't last. I had a beet and hazelnut salad that I could have made at home in about 2 minutes, and some oysters, that well, tasted like oysters. Unimpressive and disappointing. There are way better places in Corvallis that cost a lot less.

In my opinion the only other place worthy of a romantic or couples celebratory night out in the Corvallis area is Gathering Together Farm, when they're open. If you're in the mood to splurge on a fancy meal, Luc is a great option.

Amazing food! Best steak ever (just got back from Cody, WY too, see Cassie's post). The steak was a tenderloin. I tried their ribeye at a later date-still good. Best mashed (whipped?) potatoes I ever had too. Excellent atmosphere, very comfy. Above all--get the pot de creme. We have been there 3 times now, but regretfully have only ordered the pot de creme the last visit. I was giggling the entire time thru desert. JEEZ

I took my husband here for his birthday and we really enjoyed our experience. We decided to stick with the small plates, so we could have a variety of dishes to try and ended up ordering 5 of them. The duck hash and the tomato gazpacho were our favorites, but we didn't care too much for the duck confit with potato salad... we both thought it needed salt and I'm not a big salt person. The staff was very friendly and suggested a tasty wine that went really well with our meal. I will definitely be back.

Luc is unique and something that we haven't had in Corvallis. This restaurant reminds me of the many amazing small, gormet restaurants that are found in places like Portland and Seattle. The atmosphere is very clean, realxed and funky too. The staff is very knowledgeable regarding wine and the food is amazing! My favorite part about my experience at Luc is that all the food is local and seasonal. The home made bread is amazing and the deserts are delicious too!

We had an amazing dinner. I love the menu; simple but great choices. The roasted Brussel sprouts were tasty. My husband had rib eye, and I had the home made fettucini. I loved the simplicity and subtle flavors in my dish, cream, leeks, and squash, balanced with a wonder goat cheese. My husbands was great also. Great dinner for a reasonable price.

My husband and I were excited to try out Luc for the first time and while we weren't totally wowed, we definitely want to give them another try. First, it's a very quaint little restaurant that you'd miss even walking by if you weren't looking for it. We started our meal with with a pork terrine - which had an awesome horseradish sauce and an olive tapenade (which was good but was served with plain flavorless crackers). For the main course I had the Farro risotto with mushrooms - came out great & pipping hot. Unfortunately it was in dire need of salt and the waitress didn't come back to check on us for a good 10 minutes after our entree was served. When I did finally get the salt (which was sea salt!) it improved the dish 10 fold. My husband had a very nice grass fed steak, maybe slightly overcooked for his taste. They have a nice wine selection as well. I'd love to go again and try some other menu items and hope to give them a higher review next time around!

After eating my way through Corvallis one meal at a time over the last two weeks, I have found what I was looking for. Luc is the best restaurant in town. The food is fresh, cooked well, and seasoned/sauced subtly. I had a duck breast on my first visit.. Every time I've had duck at restaurants, it comes with a cherry or berry sauce of some sort--which is usually quite good. At Luc the duck was seasoned with honey and truffle oil which let the duck be what it is rather than covering up. It was quite original and very good. I also had the grilled radicchio salad which was done in the most amazing way. Excellent! (BTW, the duck cost only $19.)

The food at Luc is fantastic - creative, perfect portions, perfectly prepared. The service is solid, the wine is great. It is rare to find a place like this outside of a big city - one that is perfect for a relaxing dinner after a rough day at work and equally suited to a romantic anniversary.

My husband and I chose Luc for our anniversary dinner. We'd been wanting to try it since we were on the initial mailing list months ago, but didn't have a chance until Sept. We started off with an heirloom tomato, mozzarella, basil aioli, fried back bacon dish & Beef tartare. They were both AMAZING! My husband didn't want to share his tomatoes, and this was his first taste of tartare! I adore a restaurant that has the balls to serve it! We loved both the dishes. I was very impressed with their wines, and the fact that they serve french press for their coffee! The fact that the beans are roasted not two blocks away at Oregon coffee & tea is an added bonus. I had duck, the man had steak. The steak was done PERFECTLY!!! It's REALLY surprising how many upscale restaurants can NOT cook a steak. This one was perfect. My duck is locally, & humanely raised. I have to say, it did not bode well for the texture. It was tougher than any other duck i'd ever had. Delicious, but too tough for my tastes. Dessert was a great creme brulee & chocolate cake with raspberries. Both were good. All in all, we were impressed. The prices were much lower than we had expected, so we will be going much more often! PS i love their light bulbs!! #corvSMB

I only went in for a glass of wine and an appetizer, but it was really good. I'm glad places like this are cropping up in Corvallis. It's basically a very foodie-friendly modern french restaurant. Upscale but not too pretentious. I will definitely be going back (when I have a little more cash).

Among our favorite restaurants in Corvallis, if not our absolute favorite, Luc offers an ever-changing menu of gourmet dishes made with fresh local ingredients for a phenomenal price. The decor and ambience is on par with any big city. The food and ambience alone would be selling points enough, but add to that fantastic service and you have the whole package. As an example, on one visit we had ordered a pate (delicious, by the way) that was a huge portion brought in a ramekin. We didn't want to spoil our main courses, so we asked if they could package it up for us. They gladly offered, but when they couldn't find a to-go dish that would work for the remaining pate, they simply sent us home with the ramekin and said to bring it back when we were done (we did, of course, because after that first visit we've gone back frequently). Overall one of the best restaurants I've been to. I'm glad it's in the town I live in.

Ate at Luc on Dads weekend on November 13. Im not so sure what all the hype is about. The food was just OK. Friendly service but the lighting was a little to dark for my taste. Bottom line is it takes more than good service and nice atmosphere to get 4 or 5 stars. My money was better spent the night before at a different restaurant.

Best restaurant I've ever eaten at in Corvallis. I'm from Portland and have very high standards. LUC would be a hit in Portland too. We were a party of six, there to celebrate a birthday. Service was spot on perfect. Our server was one of those rare skilled servers who knows just when to stop by the table, she didn't rush, she didn't interrupt, she was there when we needed her. The food was simply amazing. Quality ingredients and skill in the kitchen. Wow. Its hard to pick standouts because nothing disappointed. Also, I understand the menu changes frequently. But here goes: raw geoduck appetizer with cooked belly, kale rabe with poached egg, cheese plate, chevre roasted garlic crostini, stinging nettle soup, crispy pork belly, NY steak with chimichurri, and Texas chocolate cake (free for the birthday gal!) And some very tasty cocktails and a nice wine selection. Please support this place--I want it to still be there on my next visit to Corvallis.

My boyfriend and I love coming to Luc for every special occasion because every time we go its a different experience! This place is really cute and cozy. Cute for a date. But I agree with some other comments the food portion were tiny for the price. We first had a lot of small plates and then we got the entree. If I were to get the entree alone, I wouldn't have been satisfied. But the quality of food is pretty good

Okay, this is a very charming restaurant. It feels like you are eating in your grandmother's house...if your grandmother is a 29 year-old hipster. Trust me, it works. My latest visit was a post-holiday getaway with just the man and me. He went for a lamb dish, I had the puttanesca. I had an early winter salad, he opted for the soup. All dishes were fabulous. Ingredients were top-notch. Portion sizes were great. Such that, even with my pasta main, I had plenty of room to share the chocolate soufflé for dessert--with an espresso, of course. In an era where seasonal, farm-to-table restaurants are becoming uber-popular (esp. in my neck of the woods), I was very surprised that Luc was able to surprise me. They did. They're bringing something different to the genre, and I'm glad it's close enough for me to sample.

A disappointing meal after reading other Yelp reviews. May have been an off night as service was sketchy, and appetizer and dinners were fine but nothing to rave about. The duck was crispy on the outside with occasional jerky like edges. Steak- cooked to our specifications-just no outstanding flavor to speak of. The grits that arrived with the pork appetizer was delicious and chocolate raspberry cake for dessert- divine!

Hands down, the best restaurant currently in Corvallis! I was in town visiting the family for the holidays and they wanted to take me by to show me what the hype was all about; I'm so glad they did because that was one of the best meals I've had in a good long time. For starters, I went for the GTF mixed greens salad with lemon caper dressing - refreshing and absolutely delicious. And to boot, a perfect size for a starter salad because I still had plenty of room to devour my grass fed NY strip steak, which was served over some deliciously seasoned potatoes & carrots with bordelaise sauce. They had an ambitiously extensive wine and beer menu, so for drinks I went down the specialty path and snagged a Commuter: Gin, St. Germain, Campari, lemon, sparkling wine; strong and satisfying!

I love Luc.

We stopped here on our way home from Eugene from Portland. It was worth the extra mileage. We had a very romantic dinner, every bite was delicious, and the atmosphere was quiet and charming. Dinner on the way home became an unexpected date night, and the price was considerably more reasonable than I would expect for the quality.

Great ambiance, fantastic service, amazing wine list, super cool menu! The menu, which is updated daily, featured all fresh & mostly local ingredients. the food was delightfully creative and very french & RICH beyond all reason, I was a bit overwhelmed by the end of our dinner, but enjoyed it thoroughly. my only criticism (and this is a small one), was that everything on the menu was incredibly rich, and i felt it needed something bright and acidic to balance it out. Overall, this is a breath of fresh air, and Corvallis is lucky to have such a place!

Always a different menu, locally sourced food, but they can be a tad on the high side of price points. The one thing I really dislike about this place are those god damned school chairs that you sit on. My ass is killing me by the time we're done! Wish they would find some other chairs with character instead of what they currently use.

JEEZ

Luc is now my favorite place in town for a nice dinner. They offer incredibly well made dishes with an emphasis on fresh and local ingredients without pretense or snobbery. I have been there multiple times now and the attention to quality and flavor has been persistent. The menu changes regularly but there does seem to be a few usual suspects that make their rounds (try the hash with an Oskar Blues Gordon...it's awesome). I have experimented with small dishes and gone big with a full plate and have been happy either way.( Note: a small dish will be an appetizer for two people, while two or three should fill one.) The interior is well arranged and stylish, the old fashioned light bulbs are pretty dang cool. The prices are generally very good for the quality (I rated them as spendy but it is quite possible to walk walk away for less then $20/person). That having been said, about all I could ask for out of the place is perhaps a little more quantity on the larger plates. But again, for the quality of the dishes that I have had so far this is not a big issue for me.

I've eaten at Luc several more times since my last review, and every visit has been wonderful. The food is delicious, the wine is excellent, and the service is top notch. The NY Strip is absolutely fantastic. I also love the Netarts Bay oysters.

My husband and I tried Luc for Culinary Week here in Corvallis. We were very impressed! The food was delicious and, given the quality and preparation, the prices seemed very reasonable. I loved the warm and inviting atmosphere: lots of candles, a gas fireplace, and mirrors reflecting the light. Service was excellent. My duck confit was perfection, as was my husband's ribeye steak. Luc and Del Alma are now my favorite restaurants in town, and we'll be going back for our next special occasion.

To the dismay of the staff, I called to place a take-out order. Upon calling, the server hesitated and put me on hold to 'attend to other customers'. Strange. The food was ready quickly and I swooped in to pick it up. I ordered the roasted beets and the roasted pork belly. Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm. Really tasty food done well. The pork belly was 25% too fatty (which gave it a great flavor). There was little actual meat. The polenta was okay and the green were fresh and done just right. Overall, good meal although the meat dish could have been meatier. Price was around $30. This was about excessive. $21 for the main pork dish was just not right.

I came here last night for a romantic date with my hipster before I night out on the town. I've been dying to try this place since I've seen the reviews and I can say that this did not disappoint. The setting is adorable, with the subtle walls and mirrors and frames on one wall, and the cute separate room. They definitely got the atmosphere and mood set perfectly. They also have a great wine selection, and the hipster and I settled on the Tempranillo for a reasonable $26. We decided on just doing small plates for the night, and ordered the cheese plate, gazpacho, roasted beets and goat cheese, grilled squash, and the gravalax. We loved all of it! The cheese plate had a nice variety, with the bleu cheese (which I enjoyed, even though I normally hate bleu cheese), a hard cheese, and a soft cheese. I wish I remembered what the soft cheese was because it was delicious! The gazpacho was good, but I really do wish more restaurants would embrace salmorejo as their Spanish soup of choice. The grilled squash was complimented with a nice tomato sauce. And the beets were perfectly roasted and tasted glorious with the soft and creamy goat cheese. I even found the salmon to be pretty tasty, and that's another thing I'm not really a fan of. Then there was the perfect end to the evening with the lavender creme brulee and shared red and white ports. Overall, and amazing evening with the perfect setting. Thank you Luc for the great night and putting up with us being the last table for over 30 minutes after closing! The only downside is the lack of vegetarian or seafood entree options depending on the day.

Yes! Yes! Yes! It has been about 5 months since our last visit, far too long, and it seems to only have improved with age. The food, amazing. Service, great. They were busy early tonight, which was great to see. Now the food...oh yes, the food. It's not often that I want to eat ever single thing on the menu. Tonight was one of those nights. Everything sounded so good. We showed some restraint and ordered a couple of appetizers and entrees to share. Chicken hash? Wow, so good. It reminded us of our recent trip to Spain...beautifully poached egg on top of shredded potatoes and chicken with a tangy vinaigrette. We also had a side of green beans with chunks of bacon, again, cooked to perfection. And for our entrees, fluffy pillows of gnocchi with Dungeness crab and a tangy tomato sauce, and the small duck confit appetizer. So deliciously salty, I had to show restraint and not suck on the bones. Dessert was also spot on. Thank you Luc for another fabulous meal and a place to spend our 5th wedding anniversary. Hope to be back soon!

Cara and I went to Luc last night for just tapas plates. I have to say, the whole place is put together real well- to be expected, given the savvy design background of the owner. The ambience is perfect, very clean, chic lighting, soft and quiet. The food was healthy and delicious. I had the smoked bacon with green beans and ancho chile flakes. The smoked bacon was thick cut and tasted rad with the barely tender fresh crunchy beans. Loved it. Cara had a cucumber salad with buffalo mozzarella and fennel- also a good review. As far as service, very professional and prompt, attractive and formal(Cara's observation) but not pretentious. The place has a Portland Pearl District kind of feel to it.

We love this restaurant! Just wish we would have found it sooner. The food is amazing & so is the atmosphere. Atmosphere of a restaurant is very important to me. A lot of places in Corvallis might have good/decent food, but lack a good atmosphere, setting the mood of the whole experience. Luc has the whole package!

To place a bite of fish on your tongue that is moist, delicate, and dripping with fresh from the dairy butter and taste only the fish, the rich creamy butter, subtle course salt, that finishes with a citrus note, is momentary heaven. When I saw cod on the menu at Luc, I thought do they mean "cod" like what they serve as the base fish for fish and chips at local brew pubs. The "cod" that I get when I can't afford the halibut? Although edible and not a "bad" fish, I was looking for something more along the lines of wild caught salmon, halibut, or ahi when I finally was able to visit this lovely little dining establishment. Since I was in the mood for seafood and it was the only fishy choice on the dinner menu, I settled for my "cod" not expecting to be wowed. Our dinner arrived promptly and as I picked up the first flaky, moist bite, and tasted, all my preconceived notions dissolved as the fish on my tongue. Nestled in to the sauteed leeks, and tender potatoes, the fish and vegetables impressed with their simplicity. No complex spice combination was needed to bring out the great dish that this meal became at the hands of Luc's chef, Ian Hutchings. The pino noir that accompanied the meal was also fabulous, with subtle earthy tones, missing the big berry taste that so many pinots have adopted. Space is an issue here, with the woman next to us leaning over to eavesdrop so close, I could reach out and strike her in the face without even being aware. Simplicity is king here, with sparse decoration and a classic slate shade covering the walls, environment mimics the food. Boring distasteful food no...Simply delicious...yes.

We came back for another dinner and everything was so superb. Roasted beet salad with fennel a delight in every bite. Squash soup, yum. Melt in your mouth gnocchi pillows and cod special. And service top notch. ------ Great service! They got us a table on a busy night during the Wine Walk. (++++) We were in good hands and it felt comfortable and upscale at the same time. Our professional server was enthusiastic about our choices and had good tips on the wine. (+++++) Oyster small plate excellent; tower of tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella fresh and good. (+++++) Homemade pasta with tomatoes yummy but a tad gummy. Tenderloin with mashers and sauteed onions super but onions a tad salty to our taste but still--since we weren't paying an arm and a leg and the rest felt so good, it exceeded our expectations. (++++) We'll be back to try the next season's offerings for sure! #CorvSMB

Best dinner in Corvallis for the price point. We go pretty frequently and everyone we have taken here loves everything they order. The menu is fresh and changes a couple times a month which is what keeps us coming back! The wine list and cocktails are superior to every restaurant and bar in the area, for once I don't feel ripped off when I order a drink in Corvallis! The happy hour menu is quite small but completely delicious also.

I'm conflicted. I have had chefs food at a catered event and it was fabulous, handmade charcuterie all excellent. I met my partner at the restaurant for dinner and had a varied experience. The cocktails and my tartare were excellent, but my partners had the salmon and her food was horribly overcooked. Somewhere between inedible and not suitable for cats. I I should have complained, but she protested and left unhappy. The service was excellent, ambiance comfortable (yes the chair are stolen from an elementary school), wine list impeccable. I didn't even want to write this review, it took me 6 months.

I love this place! Luc is one of the best restaurants in Corvallis. I often eat two appetizers instead of an entree because they are so tasty. The arugula salad with blue cheese and hazelnuts is my favorite. FYI... they don't have a full bar, wine only ...but the wine is excellent. My only complaint would be the homemade bread, it is a little sweet and soft for my taste, but my husband likes it, so maybe it is just me. I prefer a more rustic bread. For dessert, be sure to order the Chocolate pot de crème with a glass of white port. It is one of the best things I have ever eaten. Their menu changes daily but they post it on their website so you can see exactly what they are serving for that evening. The wait staff are warm and friendly... they make you feel special. Luc is a hidden gem.

My wife and I went here on my birthday. We didn't make a reservation, though we should have. We only got a table because they were such great people. We didn't mention that it was my birthday, they just moved some stuff around to be nice. The food is fantastic. Definitely comparable to Portland. A great place to go for a date, a great place to take your parents when they are in town, a great place to take your kids when they are in town, etc... It was so amazing. I wish we had a chance to try their desserts, but we had to run to other engagements. We'll be back, that is for sure.

Great atmosphere, wine and food! The menu is updated regularly and is always fresh and flavorful. Some of the best food in Corvallis by far!

Nice environment, delicious food. Pleasant, quiet, hits the spot in many ways. Fast, pleasant service. Inviting atmosphere.

Luc is pretty darn good. The food tends towards the simple but flavorful. The menu changes frequently, which is nice. The service is very friendly and down to earth. One of the best restaurants in Corvallis.

Excellent food, great service, old school coctails and fantastic appetizers. Highly recommend getting a reservation.

Nick and I ate an amazing meal here last weekend......I wasn't sure what to expect, but when you can brag about the sweet potatoes, then you know you have a winner! From the obscure beer to the mouthwatering NY strip.....all was FANTASTIC Highly recommend it!!

Had some good food, and nothing I tried was not tasty. The service was good and the wine was good. Pricing was good for all that was received. Good work. For sure the best place in Corvallis, hands down.

Yes! Yes!

My favorite restaurant in Corvallis! Every time I go in there is something new on the menu. You can get cut costs and still have a great meal by eating a number of small plates instead of just getting an entree.

Such a great little place. The menu is modern in a nouveau-Europe kind of way. I had the risotto, delicious. The serving size is perfect, not overkill like many restaurants today. The service was also very nice and friendly. Check this out now!

I've eaten at Luc several more times since my last review, and every visit has been wonderful. The food is delicious, the wine is excellent, and the service is top notch. The NY Strip is absolutely fantastic. I also love the Netarts Bay oysters.

Service superb! Food excellent! A very very pleasant place where you can dine on excellent food, drink good wine AND talk with your friends at your table without raising your voice. THE restaurant to go to in Corvallis if you want to dine with friends!

My boyfriend and I love coming to Luc for every special occasion because every time we go its a different experience! The menu changes every week but the food is always excellent and the soups and drinks are my favorite. The only con that I can think of the lack of seasoning on some dishes and the portions are kind of small.
