Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Visiting Oregon for the first time, and I never would've thought we would find an authentic Mexican restaurant out here in Corvallis! We checked in to the Holiday Inn Express Corvallis on the River (also excellent, by the way, but that's another review), and it was late so we decided to walk across the street and try the Mexican restaurant. It was after 9 PM, and we didn't find out until later they were closing at 9:30. We only found out because I was looking them up on Yelp as we were waiting for our food to be served. They didn't seem bothered at all that we walked in 15 minutes before closing. In fact, they greeted us so warmly! As some of the other Yelp reviewers had mentioned, the owner (who was the 1st to greet us, I later found out) seemed to genuinely care about the service he provided to his customers. He really appreciates your business, which many businesses no longer seem to do anymore. His staff was so excellent and attentive and very patient. The food was excellent and the portions were huge! We ordered a Carne Asada burrito ($11.25) and a burrito & enchilada plate (around $12). As we waited, they gave us tortilla chips, salsa & this yummy bean dip thing with bacon and other stuff mixed in. It was yummy! I ordered a strawberry Margarita ($4.50). ..awesome! I would've had a second Margarita but it was late, and I had to wake up early the next morning. (Yeah, I sound old, huh?) We had enough left over to feed the both of us for lunch the next day! We ordered take out for our teen child...Burrito plate which came with refried beans, rice, etc ($9.25). They packed it up with an extra bag of chips and a container of salsa for my daughter without me even asking for it! The burrito was huge! Imagine 2 taco bell burritos connected end-to-end and fatter! Food. ..5 stars. Customer Service...10 stars! BTW, we are from Hawaii and doing a 3-wk trek through the west coast touring over 16 college campuses and towns. So far, Corvallis has made a great impression on us with the service we received at both this restaurant and at the Holiday Inn. The people have been great, and the neighborhood is beautiful!

Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Corvallis. You will never leave hungry and the service was the best I've seen at any restaurant in the area. Visit my blog for more details and pictures: hungrybeaverblog.wordpre…

I swung by Los Tres Reales for some quick take-out soup and couldn't have been more impressed with the quality of the Tortilla Soup I took with me. Absolutely delicious broth filled with fresh tomatoes, avocados, pollo asado, cheese, and freshly cut tortilla strips. They also have all kinds of daily specials like $1 Taco Tuesdays! I'll be back.

This restaurant was great. The owner/manager obviously cares and wants to make your visit perfect. The food was yummy and portions were generous. Plenty of homemade guacamole which is always a good benchmark. My little kids loved the mild salsa - homemade without the heat. I don't remember ever getting that at a Mexican restaurant before. Another nice touch that other Yelpers mentioned was the complimentary bean dip and sopaipilla - both tasty and again, my kids lived them. The service was excellent - so friendly and attentive. The only downside, was the atmosphere. We were the only ones in there. But that's because it was evening on Easter. I could barely get my husband to go in when he saw the barren parking lot but we were all glad we did. We drove down to take our OSU son to dinner and we will be back. (Hopefully a bit livelier next time.) It is so nice to give our business to a restaurant working so hard to make it's customers satisfied. Go here - you won't regret it! Oh, and awesome Fresca Margaritas!

We first went on a nostalgic whim since it was the place to go back in college. It is under new management and we are still so happy we went. The food is delicious, service is fast, mangers will come and check in with you, and most of all margaritas are the best in town!

Mexican restaurants have taken on a kind of lore in my group of friends. The basic construct goes: it is late, you are probably lost or wanting to be, and then The Mexican Restaurant appears and it renews your belief in the world (or, at least, in Corvallis). I'm here to tell you: Los 3 Reales is The Mexican Restaurant. The kindest people, the yummiest of grub; you can talk too loudly, you can take too long to order because you're too busy eating the salsa and bacon-y bean yum that appears without ceremony when you sit down; it can be your birthday and they'll place a heavy and strangely flattering sombrero on your head and sing you happy birthday. It will be great. I promise.

OMG! The best house burrito I have ever had! Great bean dip! Great service! I have everything Posititive to say about this place. Highly recommended. Came from Albany to eat here and already planning on making the drive back next weekend!

My husband and I had a very good experience here. The margaritas and Blue Mexican drinks were fantastic. . our food was very good quality and cooked perfectly. The cost of everything was very reasonable and the plates came with more food than we expected. The customer service (Cali was our host/server) was some of the best I've ever experienced. Neither of us had a complaint and we left happy :) I highly recommend them for a great Mexican restaurant experience!

Just finished eating at Los 3 for the first time. We had a very good "American Mexican" meal. I had a burrito filled with very good chile verde, my wife had shrimp and veggies in an excellent chipotle sauce -- very smooth, tangy, and not too tomato-y. The chile purée had clearly been well-fried because the sauce had no harsh edges. The kids ordered off the kids' menu -- one taco plate and one enchilada plate, both with rice and beans. They cleaned their plates. The adult portions were ginormous. We brought plenty of food home. Today was a recovery day, so we didn't drink, but they had lots of margaritas on the menu and $2 Modelos on tap. Be sure to ask for their hot sauce -- it's a brew of tomatillos and chiles de Ãrbol that wasn't super spicy, but it was solid. We will definitely be back -- the correct play next time is likely a single entree to split with extra tortillas and a fistful of Modelo drafts.

Great service and very good food. Large portions, too many selections (means you will return to try new things). Margaritas were very delicious. Recommend highly.

My family has been going here for years when it was El Presidente and loved it. After it changed ownership, we heard that some people didn't like the food as much and we hadn't gone back. Then we recently heard that some changes were made and it was back to the amazing food and service as before. We were so excited so we went back on Oct. 18th and it was just as good as it has ever been. We had 4 adults and one 12 year old and everyone loved everything! As usual, the exemplary customer service was still there. and the food was amazing. The day we went was the first day the new manager was getting things going and he was wonderful. he really cares about what the customers think and wants to hear our comments. We're so happy and excited to return again and again!!

I went back in to give this place another try and the owner really went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of. The food was better And the customer service was the best I've ever received. I will bring friends and family back.

Being new to the area and a Mexican food junkie, I've been giving most of the restaurants in the area a try. I love authentic Mexican food and enjoy dishes from all over Mexico. In the Willamette Valley that is hard to find so I settle for Mexican-American and that is fine. I have been to Los 3 Reales three times now and have never been disappointed. Excellent service, fresh food and great prices keep me coming back. My most favorite? The lunch portion of Chicken Fajitas. Always way more food than I can eat, well seasoned and prepared with care. This is a winner!

Really good Mexican food, but what blew us away was the service. All of the staff was extremely nice, beyond what we would expect. Not overbearing, just very catering and friendly. The food was also very good. We finally found a place in Corvallis that has Mexican food like we're used to. We got the lunch menu enchiladas with rice and beans. Both rice and beans were very good. The enchiladas were tasty as well. They were buried under sauce, just like my boyfriend likes. The chips and salsa were the best we've had yet in Corvallis. Very fresh. They also brought out a little plate of bean dip that was delightfully tasty. A very nice surprise. When we got our check they also brought out a little dessert - two fried chips with cinnamon, whipped cream and honey. Another nice surprise. The only thing I was surprised about was their menus. Though I read on other reviews that this restaurant has new owners and a new menu, the actual physical menus seemed old and worn. All in all.. A++ for service A+ for food (nothing fancy, just good Mexican food) A for location

We ordered taco salad and steak and shrimp plate combo with tamarindo margarita. Food - We asked about the sauce and requested if they could make it like 'devil's shrimp with spicy and more authentic sauce and they did and it were excellent. We enjoyed that they put generous amount of veggies with the steak and shrimp. When we asked for spicy sauce, we got their own home made spicy sauce and some habanero sauce.. very tasty. Drink was very good! It was my first time trying tamarindo margarita and the flavor was excellent. I usually don't like salt in the drink but they had just right amount for me to enjoy the hint of saltiness while it wasn't overpowering. Service - everyone was so polite and attentive. One review criticizes about waiter being not experienced.. please give them a break. we all start from somewhere.. My experience was that the waiters were all professional and quick to respond. We came out very satisfied and we will definitely go back to try other items in the menu!

Best margarita in town! Trust me;-) Carne Asada rocks!

I been here three times since it reopened. The first two times the service was great, the food was good for Mexican food in Corvallis, the portions were large, and the place was roomy. Last night the service was not as good. I talked with the manager. I'll be back next year to give this place another shot.

Wife and I went after they re-opened. Doesn't look any different inside. Our waiter probably was serving his first table ever. The food was of poor taste and quality. The waiter had no idea what was available from the bar and though they tout all the different tequilas on the menue, it's your guess as to how much it's going to cost! The food was bland, obviously not cooked fresh and a disappointment. After waiting for quite some time for our check so we could leave, I finally found him in another booth eating his own dinner! 4 or 5 other people had looked out of the kitchen at us as we were the only folks in the house!. .As they had just opened, we will give them another chance but it's a long way up to even acceptable!

Had dinner with friends here for the first time last night. Right when we arrived, we were presented with freshly made chips, homemade salsa and bean dip. Delicious food, huge portions, great margaritas and very friendly service. My combo plate featuring a chile relleno (authentic!!!) and two enchiladas was perfectly seasoned, and not drowning in cheese and sauce. The beans and rice were obviously fresh. My Los 3 Reales Margarita on the rocks came with a small shotglass of Cointreau - the perfect complement. My friends had the house specialty burritos complete with generous portions of chunky guacamole and creamy sour cream nnd a perfectly pan cooked steak. The prices are reasonable - all four of us had large entrees, beer and specialty cocktails for aorund $80.00. They just added patio dining, too.

Wonderful spinach enchiladas and really good food overall. Am so glad to see an authentic Mexican restaurant in Corvallis. Eating here is a very nice experience; we recommend it.

My boyfriend and I are new-ish to the area and are enjoying various restaurants in and around town. We were warmly greeted by the Los Reales staff and shown to our booth. Shortly after we sat down, we received the typical warm-up of tortilla chips and homemade salsa. And as another reviewer pointed out, it was a nice surprise to also receive a small plate of warm bean dip (sprinkled with bacon, no less). There's a good selection of drinks, some of which you'd expect to see. My boyfriend had a no fuss, no frills margarita; I had a batinga - tequila, lemon juice and soda. I heard the portions would be huge. That's definitely the case. After the chips & dips, we wisely skipped the appetizers and went straight to the house specialties. The 'pollo a la diabla' had great flavor. I barely made it through a third of my plate. Thankfully, that means I'll have dinner for two days. The decor was colorful and kitschy in a fun way. There's plenty of room for large groups in the restaurant and in the adjoining cantina. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Our food, drinks and courtesy tortilla chip w/whipped cream and raspberry syrup came out quickly. Low Reales opened Oct. 2013 under new ownership. I had a chance to speak with the friendly owner, who worked for 15 years at the previous establishment. Los Reales is a great surprise just beyond downtown. Thanks to other Yelp reviewers for suggesting this restaurant.

Los 3 Reales is great! They are quick to tend to their customers and seat them. The waiters bring you chips, great salsa, and bean dip as soon as you sit down. All staff members are super friendly as well, and they recognize you and your orders. The food comes in large portion sizes, tastes wonderful, and is always fast, not to mention cheap prices! When you're done, they bring you complimentary dessert. This place is great for large parties or just a quick lunch, they also have TVs that are usually playing sports. They have a full bar, happy hour and daily specials. I highly recommend trying it, best Mexican food in Corvallis!

Try the new Margaritas! So I must say this place has really gotten there feet under them and are doing so awesome. The food is great and they keep improving it all the time! They now have an optional margarita mix they are making in house with fruit juices and real sugar, no sketchy chemicals and preservatives like in the mix used at most bars. Well it tastes as good as you would hope for, simply fantastic. They seem to constantly be updating recipes and finding great ingredients. We go here often and about half the time they say they have something new to try. This last time it was the Margarita mix, the time before they have a new chili relleno that was great, and the time before that it was a new salsa. You can tell the owner really wants to do a great job. This place is always improving and we couldn't be happier.
