This place really hit the spot tonight. The food, while it was a bit bland, could easily be spiced up with the sauces on the table, which is a-ok in my book. I'd rather have it under seasoned than over seasoned! We made good use of the Sriracha and Soy sauces, that's for sure. I had the Pho (didn't like the meatballs in it though, weird texture), husband had a combo plate with teriyaki chicken and fried rice, and we started off with some pork potstickers. You can get things in a variety of sizes if you eat in, some have half orders, some small and large...though if you do to-go, it's only the one size. Cheap prices, and we both left stuffed for under $20. We'll definitely be back!

This is a medium size place right by Albertson's. The decor is a little tacky, but the food is decent, though there is not a very wide variety. Aside from the appetizers, the menu consists of mostly pho style bowls, and a couple other things like chicken curry. I ordered the P1, which include beef balls and beef slices. I'm not a big fan of beef balls, but as there wasn't an option without them, I tried them anyway. They were pretty typical, as was the sliced beef. The soup came with bean sprouts and basil on the side, though I ordered a large, not sure if the small comes with that. I'm not a big fan of cilantro, which is part of the main bowl of soup, but I didn't taste it enough to detract from the rest of the pho. Service decent, and attentive. I totally got my asian cred card revoked though because, apparently, "real" asians would know not to even try taking the half of soup they didnt finish home. Overall, I've had better pho at the 2 places on W 11th in Eugene. The pho here is passable, so if I really need pho I'll come back, but since there's not much else on the menu, I don't see myself coming back for any other reason.

    The pho is decent.

Their fresh spring rolls rock! I also had their won ton soup and it was delish. I should have asked for rice noodles instead of egg though. I'd go back pho sure.

I have to say it, I love Pho and Kim Hoa's Kitchen does a great job of making it. Set in an unassuming strip mall in North Corvallis, it more than delivers. Fresh vegetables, good meat, awesome broth and personalized service. You can't go wrong if you are in the mood for Pho. I've been to Kim Hoa's Kitchen many times, and I've always gotten the pho, but have tasted some other dishes which were also excellent. Looking forward to visiting again. -Adam

Food is ok, nothing to tell s friend about. Serving size can only feed a munchkin. Went once and that was it.

I must admit that I have only ever ordered the chicken satay. That said, go . . . go now, because the chicken satay is one of the most delectable dishes I have ever had the pleasure to eat. I don't live in Corvallis, so every time I visit, I make at least one pilgrimage to Kimhoa's. The platter consists of rice, chicken, a spring roll, and two fried shrimp. While the assortment is good, the sauces really tie things together. The rice comes drenched in a sweet and spicy sauce, flecked with bits of pepper, that is just hot enough to make your nose run. It complements the saltier shrimp well. A side sauce--a little fishy--makes for good dipping, too. The chicken comes slightly charred. I can't tell if it's a product of the marinade or the cooking method, or both, but it works. All told, the chicken satay platter is more than the sum of its parts. The service is friendly and quick. In fact, you can pick up most orders within ten minutes of calling. A few notes about this family establishment: it's closed Sundays and used to be closed on Saturdays; family photos, taken in exotic and not-so-exotic locales grace the walls, lovingly mounted in a Plexiglass enclosure; small children inhabit the corner adjacent to the cash register anxiously waiting for their parents to punch out for the day; and a noise generator periodically spits out synthetic wild-bird sounds, part of the restaurant's not-totally-successful-yet-infinitely-endearing jungle theme. Personally, I feel these idiosyncrasies add the homey experience, but I do realize this can engender angst in other patrons. I recommend this place to anyone that has the chance to go.

I've been twice now - each time ordering the P1 (beef pho with rice noodles). I love it. There is some spice in the broth that just makes my tastebuds happy. The small bowl of soup is large - it's big enough for dinner. And at 5.75, is a great value. The downside is that the sodas are not refillable, and are a measly 12oz. So, stick with the water. Overall, a good experience. Nice wait staff, good prices. Only 4 stars for now, since I've not tried anything but the delicious pho.

I think it is unfair for them to write an review on this Pho (beef noodle soup) restaurant since I don't eat beef... This used to be the only vietnamese restaurant in town, until recently... Kim hoa seems like a family-run business (by the pictures at the counter). Quiet place, nice staff.... I have tried most of their rice dishes, and non beef noodle dishes... Their food are okay... During a hot summer day, I would crave for their cold noodle bowls... I also like their b-b-q pork (vietnamese style) dishes and curry chicken...

A 'B-' Vietnamese food experience which is OK considering the local options. The quality of the food seemed average if not lacking a bit of freshness. Good Pho should explode with flavor and freshness, here I can't say it really did either. This place used to be better when it first opened 10+ years ago. Perhaps they lost their passion.

This is my favorite lunch place. The Pho is outstanding. The red salmon with yummy sauce is outstanding, served with broccoli, a great low-carb meal if you pass on the rice. The owners are friendly.

Good food at decent prices. The pho is not so bad here, but I usually get the vermicelli noodle bowls or the BAN LAC.

When it comes to authentic Vietnamese food, this is the place to go in Corvallis. Family run and locally owned, this restaurant does not have a bad dish on the menu. Granted, there are some days when service can be slow, but the quality and price of the food make it worthwhile. I have sampled almost every dish on their menu and have never had a bad experience. Some highlights: Try the fresh salad rolls. They are some of the best in town. All of the house specials are good but the chicken curry with soft noodles and flame broiled pork with soft noodles are awesome. All of the pho are fantastic but the best is the M1(Special egg noodle soup). I have a friend who calls this Vietnamese penicillin because anytime either of us feels a cold coming on, we head over to Kim Hoa's and order a big bowl of this special chicken noodle soup.

For a Vietnamese restaurant, it has arguably the best pad thai and salad rolls in Corvallis (ask for the "Secret" menu). The pho is delicious, as is expected. The only thing I would change is the level of service, which was sadly disappointing. Come here for some fresh food and some mom and pop "charm."

This place is sadly the best place to get pho in town. The interior is super run down, I don't even wanna look at the ceiling and design. I wonder how often they wipe the dust and spiderwebs in the restaurant. Service is really off and on here. If they're in a good mood they'll check on you often, if they're not, you'll never see them until you go pay. If you need your beansprout/chili/small sauce dish/fork or whatever you should tell them all at once or you may never see them again. They may even forget to bring it to you after you ask.. The pho is aright here, idk if it's worth 7.50$ for a regular though. I rather have my family's homemade pho for sure.

I stopped in here for lunch after craving some Pho. I was surprised to find BBQ Pork Steam buns on the appetizer menu, of course I had to have one. The buns were some of the best I've had. $5 for (2) large buns, so a fair deal. The Pho was ok, I had the combo, beef steak and meatball. Flavour was moderate and no way to spice it up on the table. I wouldn't call it craveable, but when the pho bug bites me again in Corvallis, I'll head over. I may stop back for steam buns to go tho...

I recommend the veg pho, veg salad rolls with peanut sauce, and veg mung bean pot stickers! The owner is quirky and fun to chat with. Their fortune cookies are very good and have a home made, fresh quality to them.

We headed to Kim Hoa's tonight for an impromptu dinner out with two kiddos in tow. I had heard good things about the food from friends and really didn't feel like cooking. As we pulled up, the kids wanted to head home immediately due to the appearance of the place but with some encouragement we made it to our table. There were beautiful painted umbrellas I distract the kids hike we ordered and waited for our food to arrive. The kids enjoyed the potstickers and lemonade and one of them ate her wonton soup. My husband and I enjoyed the pho. It didn't have as many veggies as in other places but I didn't ask specifically. Every dish that passed our table looked fantastic and I'm looking forward to returning and trying more of the menu.

Got the vegetarian chow mein. It came out at room temperature, but I didn't think anything of it. Tasted pretty good. Also got coffee, pretty good as well. Tasted like thai iced coffee, but with a bit less cream. Afterwards I went grocery shopping. I didn't have to buy any stool softener, if you pick up what i'm laying down. Wife got sick as well. If the service were unfriendly they'd be getting one star for the food poisoning, but I don't want to put these nice people out of work. If the owners are reading this, an apology and a promise to be a bit more attentive to food safety and I'll gladly bump you up a star.

A hidden gem in Corvallis! I never even looked at it since it was in a strip mall, but a friend took me there one day for lunch and I was bowled over. My "small" beef soup was gigantic and very flavorful. They also have very tasty salads, and I tried some of my friend's salmon; it was excellent. They have very old, kind of crummy decor, but I found it kind of charming. And you can't beat the prices. The owners came out to say hello too, and the husband did magic tricks for us at our table. It was adorable and fun without being too intrusive. We had time to eat and talk as well as be entertained by that fun man. Go, eat good food and have fun!

love their food!! love their shrimp pad Thai, phó, Thai iced tea, & their special dumplings! I usually get their pad Thai about once a week, I just love it it's so good!! their servers are also very friendly & the owner is nice & very friendly.

Wonton soup was flavorful and the dumplings (not on the menu) where crispy and delicious. They were out of several items on their menu which was disappointing. Service was courteous and timely. I will go back.

For something that you can get in Corvallis, their pho is really nice. Especially if you are craving for the restaurant pho taste. If you get what I mean lol. This review is based on a 3rd visit. Dated back to last December! But for some reason, their pho was pretty salty on the day that I went to dine in. Service wise-- not so great. Maybe everyone is cool with it, but having my bowl of food slammed on the table is not really appealing to me. When my party and I was being served, which I think was from the owner, he was in a small foul mood --which made it awkward.. Probably because there was no customers at all at the time where we dined in.. but I felt as if he was being tortured to come to work or something. I have this habit where..when my food arrives at my table, I would always say thank you. Usually, you will at least get a reply or a nice expression..here, you get nothing...at least that's with the owner. The dining experience was okay. Dead silence quiet. No music, which made it more awkward...the aquarium looked like a ghost town.. and the light was pretty moody..could have been better, but I won't really pick on that as much. Now at the end of the meal, the cashier section looked nothing like a paying station since it was right in front of the kitchen door. But likewise, I paid, tipped a good amount in equal of my food pricing..the owner disappeared all of a sudden...so I went back to my table to sip a drink of water before I left. Later after that, I was told that my tipping was too low...like seriously? I would return back if there was a better waiter/waitress.. because the food is actually not bad.. but I feel like I shouldn't go and help with their business because they were demanding more from a customer..when really it should be the other way around.

The best pho and pad see ew in Corvallis, I almost come here everyday with my friends to enjoy their delicious foods. Very friendly staff. Very clean environment.

Probably the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant you can find in town. The owner is very friendly.

  • Long H.

Very good! It was authentic! Prices are just right! Hey we're missing tendon, flank, and tripe out of the pho so that's why I deducted a star. They said they had to trim it down because the locals were picking it out of their food. I blame Corvallis for this!!

  • Rebecca S.

This place has pretty good food, and the staff are really nice. It doesn't have all the options I cherish for pho that are at my favorite place in Eugene, but in Corvallis it's the best I've found so far. The crispy spring rolls are delicious!

Here is food like you wish your mother made, served in a very friendly down home way. Our family eats here frequently and we have out of town friends who request to come here because they crave the pho broth, or the pork bun bowl (h7 on the menu) . We love the sizzled salmon, the banh xeo, the black tofu banh loc noodles, and always order the great salad rolls as a starter. The food is fresh and consistent. The owners and their nephew are always in the house , service is outstanding and sometimes includes table side magic tricks . This restaurant is a bright spot in the Corvallis roster of pizza places and beer/barbecue parlors, burger joints. Great food, authentic, and at a reasonable to low price. Enjoy!

I love this place. One of the best authentic Asian restaurants in Corvallis. I usually go there for pho, but everything I've had there was always delicious and very reasonably priced. The owner and employees are very nice and friendly. I also really like that the owner is a vegan, so he offers a vegan alternative to pho, which you can't generally find at other pho restaurants. It isn't on the menu, though, so you can just ask for it :)

I love this little place over off Circle Blvd. The noodle soups are to die for. The broth is the best I've tasted anywhere. The Pho is phenomenal. My girl always get the salad rolls with the peanut sauce--these are the best she's ever tried. Always fresh and come out quickly. I love the spring rolls. Sometimes these come out later than her salad rolls - I wish they would always come out together and BEFORE the soups. I need a minute to enjoy the delicious fare before I dig into my soup. The noodles in the broth are egg noodles and they taste like sesame oil and garlic. Two wonderful flavors. Oh and the sauce that comes with the spring rolls is spot on. The decor is a little outdated. The staff are very friendly. If the owner doesn't offer you a shot of whiskey he might be having an off day. He's very funny. I recommend this restaurant highly. It has a flavor you'll begin to crave. We once ate it six days in a row. Whoa. Mmmmmmmmm. Good prices.

Any Restaurant that forces the customer to tip are just wrong. Tips are the extra money that customer gives out when they feel rewarded through the service. Also it's not like I didn't tip him either. I have tipped him 50 cents plus i'm a fucking college student with low fund. This is what the owner said to me, "You know In America, minimum tip is 10% of the price and what you just tipped is ridiculous." What was ridiculous is his idiotic behavior not thanking the customer for coming by for their food but asking me to open up my wallet again. Even though the food was good, his attitude totally tipped me off and ruined my whole day. I WILL NOT EVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN

I've been coming here for maybe 20 years. It's in my neighborhood, and when we don't feel like cooking or cleaning the kitchen, it's our 'go to' place. A family owned and operated business that has been the springboard for several other eateries. I think maybe grandma is in the kitchen training everyone, and they have picked up the skill. The owner likes to chat it up at times, and he's an interesting fellow. The wait staff is friendly. Service is good, and food almost always is very prompt in coming. The place is clean, the decor is plain with a few posters and some family pictures by the register. The terikyaki chicken, the satay chicken, - served with rice & spring roll + a few fried shrimp, is good stuff, especially if you aren't good at ordering 'new' dishes at an Asian restaurant. A safe bet for the newcomer. The Pho is good, I've had better but it's pretty good. There is a second menu that you might have to ask for, which includes dishes from other regions of SE Asia, and it is all quite good. I can't recall the names, but I've never had anything off that menu that wasn't delicious. There's a rice-flour crepe thing with diced pork and shrimp, and a tangy sauce.. awesome (a bit hard to eat, maybe but it tastes great). There's a crispy noodle dish with meat, vegetables, and a gravy-like sauce that is something I crave at times. Real food, real people, good prices.

This is the first place I ever had Pho back in the 90's with a vietnamese friend. The atmosphere is nothing special but the food is incredible. The owner is very nice and very friendly to our children. My favorite menu item is the P4 and I have been ordering it for over 10 years. If you like vietnamese food, this place is a close to authentic as I know.

First, the banh bao was AMAZING - soft, pillowy, and filled with succulent sweet-and-savory pork. And only $4.50 for two? My boyfriend and I both agreed that we could have ordered, and easily eaten, 3 orders of these and felt well satisfied. We did order entrees as well, however. I ordered the combo chow mein; my boyfriend got a noodle dish that was one of the specials for the night (the name completely escapes me at the moment). He felt his noodles were the tiniest bit bland; my chow mean was good, with nice fresh, crisp vegetables. We both agreed that the teriyaki chicken that came as part of the combo was the real star. It did take a little longer than we expected to have our order taken, and get our check, but the wait staff was friendly, and the food made it worth the wait. We're excited to return and try other things on the menu (but we'll always start with the banh bao!).

I try to make it my mission to try Pho wherever I go to better appreciate it. So I was in town and decided to hit up this place. I ordered the regular $6.75 Pho Dac Biet which is just beef flank, meatballs, and beef. It tasted good. Wasn't the best but wasn't the worst pho I've ever had. It was good enough for me to pretty much down the whole soup. I also ordered a plate of seven Shumai for $5 since I haven't had that in a while. It was good. Definitely hit the spot. The tangy sauce that came with it was pretty good Service was ok. Could use some improvement as it took quite awhile for them to get back to me. But the people here seem pretty nice. Definitely worth a try once.

I was not expecting much since this is Corvallis and the only game in town when it comes with Vietnamese food. The folks who have reviewed this place and said the soups are to die for have no clue what good pho is. Sorry... Service was definitely spotty. The young gentleman who helped bring out our food was pleasant but the old man nice to only a few folks, The older gentleman took the order of those who arrived later than we did first even though we were ready to order almost immediately. I also noticed he was friendlier towards certain patrons. Not sure why we were treated differently. Despite all that, we still tipped 18% for the efforts of the young gentlemen. For the food, we ordered the "salad rolls" aka goi cuon. The rolls were tasty but came out of the fridge premade. Hmm... These rolls should always be made to order and room temperature. I found the peanut sauce to be a bit on the sweet side but still good overall. Inside the rolls, they were a cheap on the ingredents. Besides the shrimp, there should have been actual pieces of pork and not pork sausage which is dirt cheap. Pork sausage is a super cheap filler and we only had one slice per roll in there. Also there was one piece of mint in each rolI. I also noticed they added picked veggies (the kind in Vietnamese sandwiches). I am not going to ding them for not being authentic but pickled veggies in the rolls were odd. For $4.50 for two rolls, this was pretty expensive with the filler items and being stingy on proper ingredients. We also has the pho which was eh..... The noodles used were the cheap packaged kind and were dry. The soup was not great but not the worst. Trader Joe's frozen pho is much tastier and authentic. Not only were they stingy on the meats but they were not fresh and were tough. Ever tasted meat that's been sitting in the fridge for days. I have a feeling the meats were cooked days before and served . Lastly, the small bowl was indeed small. The bowl was so small, it was enough for a child. Lastly, I didn't like how this place nickled and dimed you. They charge $1.00 for asking for an extra plate, $1.00 to substitute something you make not like in your pho and you have to ask for bean sprouts for your pho which should always come with the meal. It's really a shame that this place runs their business like that and lucky for them they're the only Vietnamese option in this area of Corvallis. i'm afraid yelp has led me astray on this one. Not a great value for your money, bad service from some people and food that isn't fresh. If you know what good Vietnamese food should taste like, avoid this place.

Pho was very tasty. Broth had a strong cinnamon flavor which I love. Very southern Viet style. I've tried every pho joint in Corvallis and Albany (not too hard to do). This is by far the best.

One of my & my sweetie's favorite restaurants in Corvallis for decades. I've been slowly working my way thru their menu, and everything I've ordered has been delicious. Although it may be difficult to infer from the verbiage on the menu, there is quite a variety of different types of dishes. The service is attentive and prompt, and the owner and the server are very friendly. The only minor complaint I have is that I don't always leave the restaurant completely full, but it's not their fault I'm a glutton.

Very good! It was authentic! Prices are just right! Hey we're missing tendon, flank, and tripe out of the pho so that's why I deducted a star. They said they had to trim it down because the locals were picking it out of their food. I blame Corvallis for this!!

Enjoy!

Good food at decent prices. The pho is not so bad here, but I usually get the vermicelli noodle bowls or the BAN LAC.

Pho was very tasty and prices were great. Missed the bean sprouts and basil and other extras that usually come with pho. Salad rolls were good too. Will come again.

Their fresh spring rolls rock! I also had their won ton soup and it was delish. I should have asked for rice noodles instead of egg though. I'd go back pho sure.
