Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Amazing pizza, decent selection of beers and good ambience. Do try the rocket science in case you go there. They also opened the handle bar and are serving some good drinks! I had an old fashioned with some Rye Whiskey and it tasted just fine.

Very slow 'service'. It took more than 30 minutes for pizza to arrive. The crust was incredibly dense with the outside pieces very hard and the inside pieces undercooked. We ordered the specialty pizza american dream with half no black olives. It came with half absolutely covered in the olives. The tomatoes weren't ripe and tasted it. We had to get our own plates and silverware-which made me wonder why they had a tip on the credit card slip. Avoid this place. Save you mouth!

I wish I could give a zero rating. Between the awful service (tim ) and the disgusting food, this place is not worth a penny. Not only that, it is filled with "uber"-pretentious hipsters with hollow empty demon hearts who feel that their Dave Matthews paraphrased philosopho-speak passes for realistic heartfelt conversation. Avoid this place, it is a real Debbie Downer with overpriced drinks...

I've been all over the country and no pizza competes with American Dream. I love the bacon on their pizza but I also love their veggie pizzas too.
(5)Anthony K.
Great salads, simple idea, Great Pizza, delicious beer. Just as I remember from my college days at "the dream" Nothing has changed and the old saying, "if it aint broke, dont fix it" holds true for this place. Yum.
(4)Kelly H.
Five stars fir atmosphere, and kid friendly. Pizza was good, great selection of beer on tap, and local meads.
(5)RJ C.
The pizza is pricey, but excellent. It is a great place to enjoy chatting with friends and eating good food. It is a great example of a sorta funky Corvallis restaurant.
(4)Victor D.
They run out off the cookies... God I love their cookies... I know I eat like a dozen of them in my cheat days. The only thing is their crust is little off .... Tastes very odd but pizza overall is delicious.. Please do try s slice of CORVEGAS
(5)Anna C.
Great gluten free pizza! Greatest I've had, and the crust isn't cracker thin. Crowbar serves fantastic drinks and the bartender is always great to us, even when it's packed in there.
(5)Sasha P.
One word: MULES. Their Moscow mules are great and you can never go wrong with Dream pizza and their to die for chocolate chip cookies!
(4)Jenn R.
Small chill atmosphere. The crowbar martini is a great pick me up. Their infused vodkas are really good as well. They have so many varieties of specialty drinks. Service was really great. I didn't order food, but hopefully will get a chance next time.
(4)Cliff C.
Horrible service. Waited 45 minutes for pizza. B$llshit excuse they burned it. Still no pizza. Asked for my money back and they shorted me two dollars. Horrible restaurant. Hotter than hell inside too. Beer was cold at least. Avoid at all costs!!!!!!!! Dominos is better than this crap and they deliver.

I'm not really much of a pizza fan, so this review speaks for itself. My boyfriend's brother recommended this place for us and I have to say - we did not regret our decision. We decided to order the following pizzas: Marilyn Monroe: pepperoni, American bacon, caramelized onions, and fresh tomatoes on top of each delicious slice! I have to say, this is a sneaky surprise. The tomato toppings add in an oomph of refreshing taste with each slice. I highly recommend this one. (5/5) Rat Pack Special: pepperoni, extra cheese, ground beef, mushroom, and black olives. Overall, the pizza tasted great, but it lacked in creativity. Flavor was still there, but it lacked the "WOW" factor. (4/5) Zorba: herb chicken, feta cheese, mushroom, artichoke heart, and red onions. This one was just okay - nothing spectacular. (3/5) Udderly Delicious: mozzarella, gorgonzola, fresh mozarella (yes, there is a cheese called this instead of just "mozarella"), and Asiago cheese. ABSOLUTELY THE HIGHLIGHT. I'm a passionate cheese fan, and I probably ate the most slices from this little one. For those who are vegetarians = this is a great veggie option. (6/5 = because it's so good!!!!) Pizzas can be ordered in individual slices, mini, medium, and large sizes. If you ever stop by this area - definitely check this place out! I cannot emphasize enough that Udderly Delicious is my favorite. :)

The only reason they get 3 stars is because of the mojito my BF ordered. It tasted amazing and just enough of the mint but not overpowering. The pizza was another story. We ordered the Hawaiian pizza and let me tell you, the crust was so hard and thick, it killed the rest of the favors for me. The cheese was honestly weird and I wasn't sure it was cheese in the beginning. Also, we waited 15 minutes for someone to come and get our order, eventually went up to the bar and ordered. It did take awhile but it was busy. I would recommend grabbing a cocktail here for sure but the pizza was just ok.

Pizza has a massive thick crust that's under seasoned and has a very dense chew that is unpleasant. Too much bread over all. Cheese is like your standard industry cheese. Some kind of mountain pie type pizza. Even has that twist. The square cut also makes me think the owner is from the Midwest like Quad city or St Louis or at least regular ate pizza at a Midwestern pizza joint. Was kinda excited to try crowbar considering the dearth of cocktail bars here. Very disappointed. Soda machine ice cheap ugly lipped glasses from a restaurant supply store. really terrible technique. drinks are shaken or stirred for two seconds, which is barely enough time for ingredients to get lukecold. They also free pour, which I don't mind if they're a master at it, extremely consistent, and taste frequently but they are/do none of those. they use sour mix. They actually don't use fresh fruit juices for anything. They just muddle lime wedges even for drinks that aren't muddled. I doubt they even have a citrus squeezer. Liquor selection is bottom of barrel or high recognition name mass market. Cocktail combinations and names are straight out of the 90s with flavors that are overtly fruity/sweet with terrible puns like crowgasm and Jose can you see. The most interesting part is that they infuse liquors but they don't control the infusion to stop when they think it tastes balanced and optimal. I would imagine taste would vary a lot as the infusions just sit in the big glass jars. I appreciate that they're trying to improve their program but I would rather have better fundamentals than random infusions with regular supermarket type produce. Last ding is that they sell Kamikazes at happy hour. The 90s want their disco cocktails back. Prices are amazing tho at $6. I would just buy one of their better craft beers, the lumos 5 blocks pinot which is insane at that price (I think it's low $20s at retail and they sell it for $28), or one of their good value liquors neat. If you get a cocktail on the rocks the small ice size will water your drink down fast in a hot crowded environment. Their up drinks are too warm to begin with. It's not really a cocktail bar. It's more a college bro bar that also serves cocktails. Two stars for the price. One star otherwise

To me, their pizza is tough and difficult to chew (especially the crust). My husband loves the Monroe pizza, but I'm more of a just pepperoni type of girl. The bacon on it is weird to me. The crow bar is a fun spot to hang out, have a drink, and relax. It's darker than I'd like it to be, but still quaint. Overall, I'm not a fan of the pizza, but will probably return for the atmosphere and my husband/family liking it. (PS Woodstocks is better)
(2)Tatriana L.
Always had their pizzas but never actually ate at the downtown location. We called to reserve seating for our wedding party and they kindly reserved tables for us during a Friday Lunch. Always delicious pizzas and the cookies are killer!!!
(5)Adam T.
The toppings are incredible. Especially the 'Hoodoo You Love' and the "Omaha or Bust." It's like they went into my heart by way of my unconscious psyche and pulled out my dreams. The best, most creative toppings in town by far. It's just a shame that the crust is so subpar and inconsistent. It's a very doughy crust, but is cooked super crispy on the bottom. Sometimes it's so crispy it hurts to eat (especially if you've had any recent dental work). Also, it has occasionally cut up the roof of my mouth something fierce. That said, you could do a lot worse.
(3)Chris N.
Dream's pizza is probably my favorite- especially "The Bent". Their lunch special is really the best game in town for a fast and hearty lunch. For about $6, I get a plate full of greens, jerk chicken and smoked gouda cheese drizzled with olive oil. AND a slice of pizza! It's a rad lunch and an awesome value. Highly recommended.
(5)Lindsay K.
Some of the best handmade artisan cocktails I've ever had!! The pizza is The best I've had in Oregon so far and there is beer in the Dough!!! That one of the vegetarian pizzas with artichokes you won't be disappointed!
(4)Frank C.
The Crow bar has great drinks with a bar staff that is fantastic. Perfect place to watch some sports, dine on some pizza + dream salad, and get your drink on. Bravo
(5)Adam K.
A good pizza is hard to come by in this part of the country. Not like the old days in the Big Apple. I miss that pizza. Still, this joint gets it right, for the most part. The crust is what really gets me. I think they really pack the garlic in there. And something else. Beer, maybe? Does beer go into crust? I don't even know, but this crust is pretty swell. Speaking of beer, they've got a real decent selection on tap. A lot of local stuff, which I must say I'm developing a taste for. I've always been more of a hard liquor kind of guy, but when that ain't an option, I'll take beer. And this micro-brew or whatever you want to call it beats the pants off what the old man used to drink back home. Can't say I'm a fan of the way the place is decorated. I guess it's typical for pizza joint to litter the wall with crappy art that looks like a five-year-old made it, but I prefer something a little more classy. The place is a little grubby around the edges, too, but I guess a guy can't complain when he's only paying a few bucks for a slice or two. Lots of university kids working and eating in the place every time a pop in--makes sense that they'd like the looks.
(4)Kim E.
Favorite pizza in town. The crust can be a little thick and heavy, but I still enjoy it. The Dream also makes killer salads if you're not into pizza. Decent selection of craft beers on tap, creative and tasty cocktails available from the Crowbar, and the chocolate chip cookies are seriously delicious (if you have room for one after devouring your pizza)! The rooftop area is one of my favorite spots to hit up during the summer months. It's often pretty crowded, but that's a given as there aren't many outdoor areas like this in Corvallis. The service is hit or miss, which is why they lose one star.
(4)T H.
Everyone seems to looooooooove this place so I decided to give it a whirl I'm sooooooooo glad I did. I absolutely love a good tasting pizza with lots of toppings I hate when they skimp and give you trickles... Not here they load them up and it's very flavorful and cheesy !!! So I'm a fan. My only thing is I'm not to big on crust with a real yeasty/beer taste.... But I get the personal pizza made how I like it on wheat crust and it's not so much of the yeasty/beer taste :)
(4)Kristen L.
Every time I've gone to Corvallis, I've eaten at American Dream. Great pizza for a great price. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza and split a salad with a friend. The tab was under $6.
(4)Mark L.
Would not serve me a beer. I am of a certain age(that means over 21). Very rude counter service. I won't be back. I'll have my pizza at Cibelli's instead.
(1)Dawn C.
We enjoy pizza by the slice today for lunch. I have never had broccoli/ cheese pizza. Yummy!! Great combination. The crust was a little too thick for me, but that won't stop us from coming back!

I am something like 15+ years from my "prime hanging out in Corvallis days". My wife, seven month old baby and myself just happened to be downtown today and we decided to come into American Dream for lunch. The overall vibe of the restaurant is eclectic just as a lot of downtown Corvallis is. As I mentioned, it has been quite a few years since I have eaten American Dream (the one on Monroe)... so long in fact that I honestly forgot how it was. As I mentioned, the vibe was eclectic but the 80's music was pretty loud for us and especially for a baby. Although there weren't any patrons older than maybe 25, they didn't turn us away either. :) I guess it's not exactly a family atmosphere nor is the family crowd what the restaurant is looking for. Oh well, we thought we'd try it anyhow. My wife decided to keep it simple with Canadian bacon and pineapple. I went for pepperoni, red onions and roasted red peppers. (I guess I felt like being red today). The food was pretty quick to come maybe 12-15 minutes, so that's good. Also, it was obviously hot but not too hot which was good. The first thing we both noticed was the blandness of the food. Although it was good and looked great, it didn't have as much flavor as Woodstock's does. The dough was good but a bit chewy. The one thing we liked about it was the crispy bottom. I think they put cornflower on the bottom which crisps it a bit. The sauce looked like there were actual pieces of tomato in there, which is good, but it was very mild. I am used to the sauce having more herbs in it. The cheese was good but the toppings didn't pop. Usually with pepperoni, red onions and roasted red peppers, one would expect it to have a little bite. This one did not. My wife's side was again good but very bland. Overall, it was a good pizza even though the flavor wasn't there. The atmosphere is definitely NOT family oriented. I would say it's more geared for the college kids. It looked like they had a pretty good beer selection but we opted to keep it G rated with soda. I would probably go there again if I was meeting one of my college buddies but if my wife or I want pizza in Corvallis again, we will be going to Woodstock's.

American Dream Pizza is one of Corvallis's best hang out for friends and family. Kid friendly. Yummy soft chocolate chip cookies my kids LOVE. The artwork all over the restaurant is quirky and original. The music they play is enjoyable and funky. You can buy by the slice, small, medium or large pizzas or even the mini. My favorite is the mini with green olives and kalamata olives and olive oil sauce (instead of red sauce). Slices are great too. The bigger pizzas are okay. The crust is pretty doughy, but they slather it with garlic butter (you can request not to have this) and it tastes mighty fine. I kicked off my pizza-inspired road trip here with many friends and the owner gave us a large pizza to raffle off. I love the nice, friendly staff, and I'm happy they deliver. My kids love American Dream. For the taste and the ambiance. Located downtown near the Book Bin and the waterfront. You can't miss this rockin' place. Specialty toppings and some wonderfully named pizzas are always on the menu. Try something different each time. The Edward Abbey is freaking yumsville. They have beer on tap, a few wines, and fountain Pepsi products. Pick up a t-shirt so you remember this joint forever.
(5)Nicole G.
The crow bar has awesome drinks. I love all the ones they have listed. Small place but not too loud. The bar tender is always very nice. The pizza is good here, not my favorite type of pizza. I think it needs more sauce and the crust for me is too hard. Their cookies are amazing!!!
(4)Kat J.
Worst service I've ever experienced, the manager himself didn't care if he lost service despite claiming they we're gluten free they made no attempt and after trying the other location they attempted but also stole money via "tip"

Tonight's Headline: Local Fatkid Disappointed by Cruddy Pizza Dough Okay, so the reason you order pizza is to give yourself a reason to treat your heart to a double-bypass at the age of fifty six. That and it tastes like heaven and kisses--and it's fast compared to a lot of sit-down meals. That isn't the case at American Dream & Crowbar. This place is very, very, very slow and is almost always packed to the gills. Those could be related, but on the days when it's been empty it's been just as slow. That isn't right, it. just. isn't. I could forgive that, you know, I really could. I'm pretty patient for good food. Again, fatkid. But jesus H you ought to be able to get the crust right on pizza. Seriously. The crust tastes strange, like it got old and dry before they baked it. On my more cynical days I describe it as the real American Dream--something highly spoken of by others but when you finally get some of it yourself it is a real let-down and slightly oil-slick-y. That and you are almost completely ignored by nearly all of the staff. I avoid going here unless a large group of friends has already made plans to eat here. If I'm on the planning committee of that meal, though, I campaign for just about anywhere else in town.
(1)Christine M.
I grew up in Corvallis, and American Dream Pizza on Monroe was one of our staples for hanging out with friends, eating pizza, having an 'always-gooey-chocolate-chip' cookie, and a water. We would then stay for hours, talking about boys and other assorted high school drama, while sometimes drawing the days sentiments out on paper plates. I have to admit, that I have not been back to this old standby since those days, and I, instead, frequent the downtown location when I'm back in town. I don't know that I think it's 'better' in any way, but it is the American Dream that I associate with my adult memories in Corvallis. Additionally, I may have a fear that some relic of my past might be lingering on the walls (in paper plate fashion) or in the fibers of the Monroe place, and it'll take me back to those days of unrequited love interests and girls being mean. As impossible as this may be, I'm playing it safe and leaving the past behind. Thanks! All of this said, one thing remains the same about American Dream- the pizza is really good (a lot of new pre-situated combinations to try if that appeals to you), there is a nice selection of beer should your taste buds require such a partner, the salads are always fresh, and you can really make the food just as you'd like it with the open topping menu. Be adventurous...this is where I discovered my love for stinky cheese! Most recently, I had a Texas BBQ chicken pizza, last time I was in town I tried the one with potatoes on it (different, and tasty), and we have also had some Margharita to round things out in the last year. They're all good, with toppings that add flavor, cheese that provides coverage and cohesion without grease, and crunchy crust with a buttery-garlicy touch. I think I still prefer my own combination of some kind of stinky-cheese and the herb chicken, maybe with artichoke hearts, to other combinations, but the jerk chicken is also good, and veggies make solid toppings as well. The vibe in this location is sometimes Corvallis native/old time residents and other times college kids. The (previous) Corvallis resident in me thinks the college students should stay on campus and leave this to truly fulfill my 'adult Dream' categorization, but all in all, no matter who is there...the atmosphere is fun and whimsical with a local art project on pizza boxes on the wall, dog cut outs hung on the exposed brick wall, painted chairs to delight your eyes, and a bird mobile overhead. Lastly, the outdoor seating on the top of the building is great, weather permitting, and affords a really nice view of some of the downtown buildings. I love The Dream, always have, always will...not much else to say.

Even after attending OSU for four years this was not a place I had frequented. In fact, I think I went once or twice the entire time. It wasn't until after a great Beavers Football win that brought me back to American Dream as many of the nearby restaurants were slam packed. This place was crowded but the line was short.....ohhh but how it fooled me. Ordered a Medium sized pizza right away and waited. And waited. About 40 min later had to ask a server about it. Low and behold it had been sitting there. I was not impressed by the pizza what-so-ever. There was a huge lack of overall flavor, the crust was so-so, and for $20+ it was certainly not worth the money. I don't think I would come back here I've had much better pizza around the area. PROS: Served good beer. The IPA was excellent. Fresh baked choc.chip cookies are decent tasting CONS: Price for what you get. Flavor of pizza is not that great.
(2)Jeff R.
I love, love, love the pizza at American Dream over the years, so it was a no-brainer to head to the Crowbar to have a beer and a pie when I was here for work for a few days. Well, I went and sat in the Crowbar and was completely ignored for 15-20 minutes and I felt like it was the bartender and his friends hanging out and not caring about anybody else in the Crowbar. So, I went to another place in Corvallis and got treated like a person should at a restaurant. Sorry, still like the pizza but they should get their customer service in order.
(1)Matt S.
In 2008, when he cared about Oregon, Candidate Obama ate here, so I had great HOPE that this (presumably) quintessential Corvallis experience would be high quality. Unfortunately, the only strong conclusion of ours was that CHANGE is necessary with the crust at American Dream. Others on here have mentioned that the pizza crust is bland/subpar, but that doesn't go far enough in stating the case. It wasn't thick or crisp enough to hold the toppings, and managed to be very wet at the bottom for unknown reasons (didn't seem to be oil). Here's hoping that somebody at American Dream reads Yelp and sees the trend here. . .they've gotta take steps to improve the crust. We got an "ok" salad, and the people working there were "ok" although they didn't do much more than bring the food to us. There were a lot of folks working there considering that customers fetch their own utensils, plates, leftover boxes, and bus their own tables including the pizza tray itself. Bottom line: We've got one of those leftover boxes in our fridge right now, and I'm not sure either one of us is going to go back for more. When leftover pizza isn't appetizing, that's a bad sign.
(2)Loud B.
Sitting on the patio drinking great beer and eating good pizza in the beautiful northwest weather. It don't get no better. All good times in Corvallis start at this place.
(5)Tiffany V.
My friend called in an order to the wrong location not realizing there were two. We went to the one on Monroe and they told us they didn't get our order and that we probably called the other one. The girl working there didn't let us order and said it would be a huge waste to the other location if we didn't pick it up there so we drove to the downtown one. The downtown one was totally deserted. I waited in the car while my friend picked up our two calzones. I've never had a calzone before and I never want one again. I got mine with mushrooms and pineapple. He had his with random meats. They were $7.95 with two toppings (er fillers?). The crust was super thick and doughy. The bottom was burnt on both of ours. There was barely any cheese and I ate about 1/3 of it before giving it to his roommate who happens to eat everything. He took a few bites of it and asked me what he was eating. He thought it was lasagna because it tasted like pasta. Haha. He said the bottom was burnt and then gave it back to me. Thats how bad it was. I do hear their pizza slices are good though so I'll update this review if I ever go back. Minors aren't allowed after 10 or something. Thats what my friend told me. I have no idea what the drinking laws here are in Oregon so you might want to call in and double check. Oh and I love that they're a "styrofoam free restaurant'!!!!! More places need to adopt that mindset.
(2)Mike A.
Crappy crust, way over priced pizza and beer. Bar was not even open on a OSU game day. Place was dirty and the help seem to do more standing around than working. I won't ever go back and feel lucky I didn't get the runs!
(1)Avery S.
It appears I am unfortunately part of the percentage of people who find the crust used here to be really, really bland. Judging by the wide spread on previous reviews I guess this is just a matter of personal taste, but holy cow was that a bland crust. I was happy with the selection of toppings though. The service was okay and the place had a nice, casual, pizza hang-out feel. My feelings about the pizza are thoroughly in "meh" category; however, I'm opting for 3 stars because everything apart from the crust is pretty good (but can I just say again, wow, it was bland!), and because last time I was there, the waitress was extremely accommodating and nice when I knocked a full glass of soda all over everything like an idiot.
(3)Kathy G.
Just tried to make a reservation for a large graduation celebration party, June 14th. We have fabulous memories of visiting this place since our daughter started as a freshman at Oregon State. Many, many memories we've had at this establishment over the duration of five years of football weekends and other trips we made to Corvallis. The manager, or whomever I was transferred to upon my attempt to reserve a table for our celebration, was not friendly and seemed annoyed that I was trying to reserve for 'A Saturday'. How disappointing - Not sure if it's worth attempting to stand in line for a rooftop table for this celebratory occasion. Lost my love for this place. Sad.
(2)Brad B.
Crow bars so confertable the bar tender manager been there about 7 years great guy great service. I'm sorry I wish I could rem yr name
(5)Nora B.
LOVE American Dream Pizza ! They have great lunch specials -- a slice of pizza and a one toppng salad for about $6. I always get AD after going to the post office, since I don't go downtown very often - so its a nice treat ! Their crust is amazing and their chocolate chip cookies are also yummy. Pizza is a little more expensive than other places like Pizza Hut, but it has every right to be when it is that delicious. :) Highly recommend !!
(5)Kalyn H.
Dangit. Like I had feared, the crust is consistently terrible as I have been to both of the locations now. I've even been there another 3 times after my original post just hoping that American Dream would change my mind. But alas, that is not the case. I'm sorry American Dream. But your pizza would be soooo good if the crust was softer and better tasting. I'm still giving this place two stars though, just because I have faith that one day they will see all of these reviews and change their dough recipe. Then I can go back and be satisfied.
(2)Jessie M.
Somehow their pizza has grown on me. I still don't like the crust at all, but it's better if you dip it in their homemade ranch. Their dreamtime special is a pretty good deal. You get a one topping large pizza or a two topping medium plus a one liter soda for $12.95. Plus free delivery
(3)Joseph C.
I really do like the pizza, and the price also isn't bad, but I'd prefer if the atmosphere wasn't so loud and noisy. Like even when there isn't a crowd sometimes they blare music. Like I said, besides the loudness the pizza's great.
(3)Allison E.
Great infused liquors and so, by default, great specialty cocktails! Great tap selection! Pizza is great, crust is brushed with garlic olive oil... yum! Also for you non-dairy folks there is a soy cheese option, I believe they offer gluten free nights as well? $5 "slice and a pint" nights are always my favorite, any tap beer and a slice with any topping! The bar is usually pretty packed and loud, even if its not that busy, just a small space but part of the charm! Oh... and the service is always friendly too!
(5)Reilly N.
Pizza combos are great. Lots of good beer choices. Love the crow bar cocktail list it is very creative and delicious. The crust on their pizza is hard as rocks so I tend not to go here anymore when I want pizza.
(3)Shawna L.
crowbar--small hidden place in the back of American dream. but I go there just for their three sheets drink. omg tastes like strawberry pink lemonade & can't taste the alcohol, but it'll sure hit you after you gulp it down! delicious but deadly haha
(4)Gonzalo O.
I only went to Crowbar through the alley. I had a three of their interestingly named cocktails and they were just the bees knees. infused fruit vodkas yummo.
(4)JaneDo E.
I want to like this place. But can't. The dough tastes like something you tried to make at home from scratch, and it didn't come out quite right, but you're gonna eat it anyway because, come on, you're just cooking at home and you can't get it perfect like they do at restaurants. But this is a restaurant, and the dough is off. Badly. I just don't understand why people flock to this place. Come to think of it, there simply isn't a good pizza joint in Corvallis. Oh God, why?
(1)Marc B.
The fifth best pizza in Corvallis.

Cut to the chase, the crust here needs a major overhaul. It was recently, and aptly, described by an anonymous long-timer as "...like eating popcorn tossed in brewer's yeast...". If you love yeast, this is your spot. But, I don't know many people who love to eat yeast. And, this seems to be a common gripe of a lot of people on Yelp. Hopefully they (American Dream) are listening to their base. The Good: - like the slice + beer happy hour price wise. - the slices have good toppings and are generally well cooked, until you get to the crust on the edge. You can't eat it. So, they either need to fix that, or charge 20% less as you are throwing out 20% of the pizza. - the roof top deck is nice in the summer. Though, the service up there can be spotty. - usually have a good beer selection and cheap prices. - I like all the toppings they have. Usually are really fresh and tasty. Needs work/suggestions: - during happy hour, Crowbar is way too packed to have 10 people standing in line for slices. There is not enough room, nowhere to stand, and you are blocking the only route through the bar for the people bringing out the slices or people trying to get to the bathroom or one side of the room to the other. Switch to table services at the peak times and cut down on the congestion! - bar service can be really slow if you are just wanting another beer. I have waited in line for 30 minutes just to get a beer because of all the people waiting in line to order a slice and beer. Table service at the peak times would alleviate this congestion. So, if I see a line now and want a second beer, I leave. Think of all the business you are losing! - Did I mention the crust? - I have had delivery from the Monroe location and it was really soggy by the time it showed up. I wouldn't order it for delivery again. Something is wrong in the process as I don't remember a pizza at the restaurant being that soppy.

The bartender was one of the rudest and most condescending individuals I have ever encountered. Although I was unsure of what I was ordering, a snide comment upon a returned drink will most definitely not persuade myself, nor the part I was with to return!

I have been going to American Dream for years and they have some of the very best pizza in town. I had only been to the crowbar once a long time ago, but I had the pleasure of meeting some friends there last night. There are only a handful of places in town with high quality cocktail menu's and this is one of them, but theirs are only 6 bucks each! They serve pizza by the slice all night for only 2 - 4 bucks a slice. It is very small in there, the music was very eclectic and interesting. I had a great time, and will be going back. Oh, and Sunday nights is Slice and Pint night. Get a Quality micro brew, and a one topping slice for under 5 bucks!

Crowbar is a small bar accessed either from American Dream or the alley. Really small, and since it is fairly popular, usually packed. Good selection of micro beers and cocktails. The BerryObama, "a cocktail you can count on" is Anita's favorite. I like the beers and there is a good selection. Lots of unusual pizzas which can be enjoyed either in the bar or restaurant, or weather permitting (not a lot of days in Corvallis) on the rooftop.

There is much to love about the Corvallis institution of American Dream, at either the Monroe or the 2nd street location. They both offer convenient, reliable pizza slices or salads, with lots of tasty fresh toppings to choose from, and the art and atmosphere are cheerfully inviting (if nearly always dusted with cheese and crumbs). And we can color with crayons! I'll never get too old to enjoy that. I would eat the food more often if I liked their pizza crust recipe, which frankly, I find bland and off-putting. (Cirello's spoiled me forever for flavorful crust.) Unless I'm missing something I can't review Crow Bar separately, which is a shame. I have had indifferent service sometimes at American Dream, but at Crow Bar I have been spoiled for all other bartender service. Even when very busy, they are attentive and friendly. When I can remember that one bartender's name* I will update this review, the guy is a saint: always makes me feel like a welcome friend, mixes up tasty potent or virgin drinks upon request, etc. When it's busy I find the cramped quarters and noise level too much for me, but they have great cocktails and exciting concoctions to admire behind the bar. *SETH! Seth is awesome. A sweet guy and a kick-ass bartender.

Came to Crowbar the other night in desperate need of a couple beers. Loved the feeling of this bar from the second I walked in. It's got brick walls and it has the perfect amount of space. The bartender was awesome and cool to talk beer with. And of course they have all the food of American Dream which means I get my Italia salad that I wish I could eat every day. I also love the crowd that hangs out here. It is more my style with the people just looking to relax with a beer rather than get completely trashed. Although I may have had one too many beers, so I apologize to those at the Corvy Leadership Class if I wasn't on top of my game the next morning. -1 star because service was a little spotty. They completely forgot my salad, but the guy was extremely apologetic. A little bit my fault for ordering so late in the night anyways.

Yum! We came here last night and ended up enjoying the roof deck seating. I ordered the Andalla salad, which had jerk chicken, red onions, cilantro, and black beans and I got the ranch dressing. It was stellar. It was served with romaine lettuce, and the ranch was clearly made in house. It was light and yummy. All around approved. The friends I were dining with ordered a pizza with artichokes, pesto, sun dried tomatoes, and garlic. It was really tasty. The dough was really thick and clearly was freshly made. All around score-great dinner for about $10 each.

I wish I could give it 3 3/4 stars because its not quite 4. However I think that they have the best by the slice pizza (personally I like the calzone) in Corvallis, good beer selection and the happy hour is always worth it. I, like I'm sure many other reviewers here on yelp will agree the roof top seating is where to be on a nice sunny day. American Dreams local almost quirky atmosphere makes a comfortable place to be with friends, family or flying solo. Don't forget to make local habit!

American Dream is the reigning heavyweight champion of the world (...or town I should say) of Pizza, there's nobody that beats it. Papa's Pizza sneaks a few jabs in, but ultimately gets KO'ed. Anytime is really a great time to enjoy Dream, but my favorite times are right after Oregon St. Football games; It's completely packed, keep that in mind, but there's nothing better than coming here to celebrate a W with your friends to end the night. The best place to eat is outside on the rooftop, nice and chilly. Just something about eating a slice of pizza or eating a thick meaty calzone looking over 2nd St. on a Saturday night that feels so awesome. The staff isn't nearly as dead as people seem to think; They get the job done fast and right. Obama stopped here on his Democratic nomination campaign, so if you worship the dude (I don't) like alot of the people in this town used to, then maybe you might stop here on that one remark.

They make great pizza and calzones. They have a great place to eat them. The employees missed that memo. I put up with the unfriendly service because the pizza is so good and you can get it by the slice. Nice selection of microbrews on tap too. But really, I'd like a smile with that order once in a while. #corvsmb

Great atmosphere and staff. Good happy hour drink specials, and of course great pizza! Full pizzas are better then by the slice, though

I grew up in Corvallis always going out to American Dream with my friends. Now that I am in college, I still love going there! They have a really relaxing and fun atmosphere, 17 beers on tap, and amazing pizza. They prepare everything fresh everyday, and nothing you order seems old or like it has been left out for a while. If you love pizza, I highly recommend this place!

Awful customer service. I will never go back
(1)Eddie H.
I've grown to be a fan of the crust, but it took a few slices to get there. Now I really like it. The service is really slow sometimes. I recommend ordering your pizza and have it delivered to the Crowbar. Have a pint while you wait. A++ to the Crowbar, best in Corvallis.
(5)Jason B.
Great place for pizza and good beer! Everything is handmade and fresh and made to order. I'm a big fan of the Marilyn Monroe pie....delicious! The have Oakshire and Hopworks beers on tap as well. Best part is the rooftop seating on warm summer evenings!

The four stars are mostly for the restaruant. American Dream has WEIRD dough. I think they use eggs in it, for some reason. It's perfectly fine if you order a pizza, or an un-reheated slice. The reheated slices though, make the dough like a bland (!) saltine. The toppings selection is awesome. Best in town. The calazones are hit or miss. Mainly on size. Sometimes you get a decent size calazone for a very reasonable price. But other times you get what amounts to half a hot-pocket. President Obama ate here on his campaign trail, but if you google the picture of him eating a slice, you can see that he's struggling with the weird ass crust. The Crow Bar has so much potential, but it's over-run by douchebags, and I've gotten cut off so many times (sometimes for very good reason, but other times without having drank anything at all). They let Tim Hellman debut one of his movies there though, which gives them bous points.

Love this place! The pizzas are excellent. Only problem is that it's always busy which means that pizzas take a while... Otherwise it's very good quality food. Rooftop is fun.
(5)Victor H.
Great handmade pizza with a variety of vegetarian options. The employees are friendly and the wait wasn't too bad for as busy as it was. It is a bit loud in there, but it kind of adds to the atmosphere.
(5)Liz S.
So good! Great pizza, great atmosphere, great service and great location.
(4)Allan S.
Great beer selection! Good pizza, too!! One of Corvallis's best!

Good pizza, outdoor seating on the roof if it's not too cold.

The American Dream. I consider this to be the best place to get a pie in Corvallis. Great pizza, with great toppings. The back of their work shirts say it all, MUSIC, ART, BEER, PIZZA. Pretty decent music, so long as they don't play dubstep, but that's only because I'm no fan, as for art, well pizza art is always appealing. Beer is priced okay and well, and there are some great cocktails they are famous for in the crowbar in back. This is the only place I know of that you can get just a slice for a few bucks and where the service is nice and friendly. I recomend this place to all and everyone I know.
(5)Marie G.
it's loud, there's slices of pizza everywhere, happy hour from 11-midnight with amazing drinks as i type this a tad inebriated. i think i spelled that right. A random girl from the next table over complimented my hair and she had an eye patch on. hmmm... the music made us feel like dancing and my ex roommate wanted to go to the cafeteria... i mean Cantina to get our dancing fix, yea, t'was a good night, tonights gonna be a good good night lalala, Goodnight everyone!

The Crowbar and the Dream are really 2 places so I will separate them out here. Dream- Great pizza. I really love the food here. The pizza is outstanding. The Flavor combinations they have are fantastic. As someone who is not a big fan of tomato sauce they have awesome options, Tejano, Mary's Peak, and Bike-e are all great examples. The Chocolate chip cookies are fantastic! They make their own Ranch dressing and it is so good. The lunch special is great for a business lunch. It is fast enough to have on your hour lunch and very reasonably priced. You get a slice of pizza and a salad with one topping and dressing. It is fast and yummy. The free wifi means you can even get a little work done or surf. Like many Corvallis places it is an order at the counter and then bus your own. Some people have a problem with this but I really don't mind. They have clearly labeled bins and on your way out you just drop your stuff in the appropriate bin. The staff has a lot of pretty cool folks. The dinning room is good. It has both tables and booths. There are several larger tables that can be pushed together for a big group or you can eat at the high back booths for a more private meal. The pricing is higher than most pizza places but the pizza has lots of toppings so is pretty filling and is made with great ingredients and tastes delicious. If you want a greasy cardboard circle for $5 this is not your place. I feel the higher price is justified. CROWBAR CROWBAR CROWBAR This is my favorite bar in town. The drinks are good. The staff is really cool. It is hard for me to describe why I like this bar so much for what it is but rather what it isn't. It isn't a dirty, funny smelling dive with really scary/unsanitary bathrooms, it is not a meat market with a bunch of college kids trying to rub against one another, it isn't a pretensions trendy wannabe with overpriced drinks and surly staff. It is a friendly come as you are place for real people. If I just got off work and am in a suit or I just got done drywalling and am in my work cloths I feel I can just go there and relax. The Staff is really cool and and puts for the the effort to remember who you are and what you drink. If there were things I could change: sometimes the wait for a drink is longer than I like and the booths are too close together so are really uncomfortable for bigger folks.

I love their pizza, dream sticks, and cookies! We also often get the salad with the meal and have enjoyed that as well. With two small kids we like the energy of their downtown location. They have a window for the kids to watch the pizzas get prepped after baking. They have crayons and paper plates for the kids to color and lots of stuff on the walls to look at. It can be loud at times, but we still enjoy it. The rooftop dining is also nice on sunny days. It's one of my favorite pizza places in Corvallis.
(5)Cathy P.
Very unique pizza, love the outdoor seating, especially during the summer. Favorite drinks (besides the beer): Redhead and Perfect Stranger.
(4)Kirsten S.
Crowbar is hands down in the top three of my very favorite places to be in Corvallis. The drinks made with their homemade infusions are TERRIFIC. My favorites are the Redhead, which has strawberries and just a dash of balsamic (try it, you'll like it) and the Lost in Space which involves lemon-raspberry vodka and triple sec, and these drinks are $6, which I think is well worth it considering the quality. They also quite the selection of microbrews on tap. The atmosphere is cool, music is good, plenty of TVs to catch the game, and the bartenders are just the sweetest people. They really take the time to get to know you and make sure you are taken care of. The pizza, well, I can't really speak on that front too much as I worked at rival Cirello's Pizza for over five and a half years so I am obviously biased, but American Dream is my second favorite in Corvallis. A lot of people say they don't like the crust because it's a little dry, but I actually think it tastes pretty good if you get some ranch to go with it. I like the hint of beer in the bread. They also have a ton of toppings to choose from; the usuals to the more fun and out there. Smoked Gouda can go on anything and is fantastic. Basically, I heart Crowbar. I really do. (Side note: it can get REALLY packed on OSU game days, so watch out.)

I've eaten at the Dream every other week for the past 8 years now mainly since they put on a really great lunch special (salad and a slice for $5.95). The salads are always fresh and are a real bargain when you consider you can get smoked salmon for a topping. The pizza....well I don't think I have met a single person in Corvallis that actually likes the pizza crust. And I have asked A LOT of people this question, since it's remarkable to me that the most popular pizza place in town has bad pizza. This is a really strange phenomenon since the Dream is a Corvallis Institution and the place is always packed. There is no secret to the problem, the crust lacks salt and sits in your stomach like a brick. Like I said, I eat here religiously and will continue to frequent the joint for years to come, but it's not because they have good pizza. The beer selection is better than most bars in town. Kudos for that, though I mostly go for lunch, so don't enjoy the beer as much as I would like.

This is for the crowbar rather than the main pizza parlor. The brews are excellent. Usually 10-12 micros on tap from at least 6 different brewerys. The only commercial beer on tap is PBR, everything else is smaller brewery stuff including local corvallis beers. Great cocktails including a lot of their own making. The pizza comes 2 ways, by the slice and as a whole pizza. Go with the whole pizza. The by the slice pizza has the toppings added after the pizza is cooked and while its ok its not great. The whole pizzas are made to your order from scratch and are much much better. Also the bartenders make a point to get to know you by name and remember what you drink.
(4)Nic J.
this is the type of place that makes me like Corvallis! anything you want on your pizza and they care about the 10 or so beers on tap. awesome place.
(4)noell b.
we go here every time we are in town to visit family. the pizza is fantastic. we usually prefer very Neapolitan thin crusted pizzas, but american dream makes fabulous american style pizza. the crow bar has amazing house-infused liquors and the cocktails are fantastic. we go here only once a year but i think about it all year long.
(5)David L.
Pizza is just average, and the servers trying to provide service really need to drop the attitude! My wife and I came in one evening for some salad and pizza. We had a three topping medium pizza, and a "Pat Casey" salad, with two drinks which cost just under $30.00. Paying $20.00 for a medium "average pizza", is a bit on high side ? anyway, the salad was very good and the cost for it was around six bucks. It came with a tiny side of ranch dressing, barely enough to coat our salad, so when I went to the counter to ask for more....I was ignored by at least six workers behind the counter, who thought their conversations amongst themselves were more important than assisting me , the patron who just shelled out nearly $30.00 ten minutes prior! I was floored when they finally handed over a second small container of ranch dressing and ask me for ,25 cents, really?? I own a small business and I would be extremely disappointed if my employees treated customers with such a bad attitude.

Great pizza and drinks on the rooftop. As others have said try the specialty drinks with the infused liquors.

Yum is right! We just moved to Corvallis from the Bay area. We also enjoyed the rooftop bar tonight, and had American Dream pizza for the first time. Had heard great reviews from many, and it certainly lived up to it's reputation. We had the Encore pizza, which I would highly recommend! We were also treated to live music on the rooftop bar! What could be better?
(4)Meaghan S.
So I LOVE this place.....super yummy beer selection, tasty strong cocktails with quirky names sometimes named after it's own staff, better than good pizza and stellar salads. The staff is a tad "Dazed and Confused," (both in appearance and mannerisms) but efficient and friendly in my experience. For a lunchtime slice you will always have to wait in line, just FYI. The bartenders in the Crowbar are significantly more put together looking and always cheery and heavy handed. I have never had a cocktail there that I didn't adore. For those of you who complain about the hard dense crust.....one word for ya.....RANCH. Ask for a side of Ranch and dip that crusty crust right in and experience a taste bud happy dance. It really saves the whole thing. My fave? Uncle Ken (bacon, fresh garlic and sliced tomatoes) with Ranch.....YUM! But you will have deadly breath after, so not a first date choice...:)
