Portions are large, coffee was good and yes just good black coffee. Pancakes are large and fluffy... Waitress said we should try the big pancake, glad we didn't couldn't of eaten more. The biscuits are large and gravy very good, bacon was thick and crispy. The staff are attentive and make you feel like you are at the family table. We will be back.. Must try some of the fresh baked pie.

Stopped in after visiting Camp Colton, just a block away, service was prompt and the food items were all tasty. Two of us has the Who Hash which I would recommend wife had a bowl of Chili which was just right for her, not too spicy. Daughter had a Denver omelet which she enjoyed with home made wheat toast. Looks like the new owners are doing a good job.

I was camping just down the road at Camp Colton and knew I needed to check out the local diner to round out my local experience. I'm so glad I did! 5th star for friendliness! I went in for a late lunch on a Thursday and was very happy with my food and service! I got great recommendations on food from the waitress (owner?) - decided on the ruben sandwich with homemade potato salad and an espresso milk shake -- thick slices of lean corned beef (it was a little tough to bite through but was very tasty!), the potato salad was delicious and you can't beat an espresso shake. It was obvious that they'd make substitutions to make you happy. They make their own coleslaw and soup too! I'll be back to check out the burgers (seasoned and pressed there) and breakfast for sure! The staff and diners were all very friendly - shook my hand, told me what to do in the area, invited me to a painting class at the local church (their artwork is displayed on the walls), even read me my horoscope! I'm just sorry I work Friday evenings and can't make it for Friday night specials that start at 4:30 - everything sounds amazing! Friday's menu is posted weekly on their Facebook page - check it out!

Great local restaurant with a family kitchen feel. The burgers are awesome and the prices are right. We will definitely be back!!

I am writing this review for out-of-towners, since we all know that people in Colton have already been here as it is the only restaurant in town! On the large scale, the food is extremely average, 3 stars for just okay, nothing special, some American home cooking (and you may walk out smelling like the food you ate until you change clothes, like you sometimes do when you are cooking in your own kitchen). Inside its like any other old sticky American diner, but filled with local art and community love. The Colton community and the atmosphere here is what makes it special. Everyone here knows each other by name and it's a spot for people to catch up and for visitors to meet locals. It's an icon to the town. The service is fantastic and the staff is very nice. They will work with you to make sure you are satisfied, and will substitute things as needed. The prices are great and the portions are large. I always leave here in a good mood. It is worth stopping by on a lazy day when you don't feel like cooking or if you feel like being in the company of friendly locals and neighbors.
