I usually like McMenemins but today was a real disappointment. Our server was sub par and the food was worse. I had fish & chips. The fries were left in the frier too long. They were dark brown and brittle throughout. The fish batter was dark brown as well. And who puts horseradish in coleslaw? We got a weak, "I'm sorry" from the server when I pointed it out the next time she came back, to clear our plates. No offer to replace them. My daughter's gyros sandwich was crunchy, dry & greasy on top and soggy on the bottom. The tomato was anemic. Salad and dressing was skimpy. Our server never checked back with us to ask about the food. We counted 5 employees and the restaurant was 2/3 full so they didn't appear understaffed. Long wait for everything, from taking our orders, bringing the food, and presenting the bill. To be fair, my sister's Ruben was good and so were the tots.

We are having construction done on our home and have to eat out until they put the kitchen back together. We have taken this as an opportunity to try lots of places that we would not normally get to try. We have eaten at several good places BUT we keep ending up back here. We have eaten here at least 25 times! It is such a nice little place with yummy food. The food is consistently delicious. We have eaten most of the meals they offer. Maria's Masterpiece with garlic jus (ask for it, it doesn't come with this sandwich normally) is my favorite! Cajun tots ROCK! And the staff is so amazing! Super nice and down to earth. As many times as we have been here we have not had ANY bad encounters with any staff members. Yes, we will keep coming back here long after the home repairs are done. And now they have the ROCKEN ketchup!!

A nice place to eat any time of the day. The size is quite nice for any occasion. Cool staff too.

I must say I have to agree with other yelpers. What was McMenamin's thinking when they crammed this little place into a pseudo strip mall? All their other places at least have some ambiance.. Regardless of being squished between an urgent care facility and a sushi bar, I found myself here with a colleague. Service was pleasant, they didn't have the pasta dish I love from other McMenamin's on the menu and when he brought the ketchup for our tots, it wasn't the great Portland ketchup other McMenamin's serve. When I asked, the waiter said "Well, I'm not sure. I guess they don't think we are as important as the other McMenamin's" You know what Buddy? I agree. The difference between mediocrity and excellence is attention to detail. Saving grace? They had Crater Lake Root Beer. I will forgive a lot for that.

The best thing about my experience here was the Terminator Stout. It is very good. The service was okay, the waitress was very nice, however she was easily distracted and forgetful. I had the Portland dip, The garlic jus was extremely salty. It was like dipping my sandwich into a bowl of soy sauce. The clam chowder was more like a bowl of chunky mashed potatoes, and I think I found one clam. I watched as the waitress checked the temperature of the so called soup, then proceeded to scoop it out of the large plastic tub into the stainless crock. From the crock, it was scooped into a bowl. I intend to try some of there other locations and hope the food is much better.

Not like the big restaurants and lodges, but get mini version locally, same bites & brews we've all grown to love. Ohhh, same great service too! I like the Reubens but it's all good.

I'm writing pretty much the same as the other low ratings...service/wait time. It was a Friday night around 6:30, full, not packed. There was one man ahead of me and the server offers him options to sit at the bar or a table, I'm ignored. I sign the waiting list, a couple walk in after I've been there for a few minutes. The same server walks past me and points out a table to the two who came in after me! WTF...am I invisible! He just totally ignored me and blew me off! Finally a very sweet server comes to the rescue! She was fantastic and doesn't fit the other service in this establishment. I'd give it a 5 star just because of her, but I can't, without her this place sucks.

  • Jessica C.

Not ok to make your customers wait ONE HOUR for your food! !! WTF. Why would this restaurant have only one cook? Learn how to staff properly so you can have happier customers, customers who will return.

Our family loves Mcmenamins! I'm a Cosmic Tripster and am a big fan. The Sunnyside pub is closest to my home and I frequent it often. They have friendly servers and great food. I like the happy hour selections and seasonal beers. Every Monday they offer $8 Growler fills, it's a great deal. I like their burgers better than other spots in the neighborhood such as the Ram and Red Robin. I highly recommend the Sunnyside Mcmenamins!

The establishment we all know and love in Oregon. I do have to comment tonight on the fact the the staff was busting their *** on a very busy Friday night. I see people complain and moan, but as I sit at the bar, I see how hard they are working as I enjoy my beer. They have a tiny kitchen with all homemade fair. The food is the same, the beer is the same (okay food, great beer). I have never been a fan of McM food, but by all means it is not bad food. I see that they try to use fresh ingredients, and they appear to keep their fry oil clean. All McM are different, and I believe should be judged thusly. Enjoy it for what it is, but this McM is one of the better ones when it comes to service. Hard working staff, tip them well, only at the bar can you actually see how hard they are working.

I've been to most mcminims in Portland/Vancouver and the service here is the best so far. I sat at the bar where I saw how the staff worked and the chef made the food. All I can say is wow. The team work was craZy good. Everyone was helping each other damnnnn the chef cooked good and fast I was very suprised Most places I see management yelling at other staff to work better but it was super busy tonight and they were just helping each other, never seen that before. Very suprised. Good was bomb!

If I could give zero stars I would! I won't be coming back here ever. It takes way too long to get service and the food isn't all that great, especially not for their prices. Our waiter pretty much ignored us the entire time. We were there for over two hours and our waiter only stopped at our table three times, once for drink orders, once for our food order and lastly to bring our food and checks. I hate this place!

The McMenamins Sunnyside Pub is located on the other side of the highway by Clackamas Town Center in a business park. It's probably the least McMenaminsy of all the McMenamins since there is very little history behind this spot. They do try to give it that McMenamins flare inside with a dark atmosphere, typical artwork and kegs lying around the bar. We were in the area picking up some supplies for our New Years party, so it was a perfect time to swing by and grab some tots, a beer, and a stamp in our passports. They had a spiced Cider on tap which was nice from the normal. Also had a healthy amount of seasonal beers which I'm really starting to enjoy. Our server was awesome. Really personable (I think his name was Mike) and attentive. Happily offered a sample of the cider and just overall really nice. 3 stars really for the location. Not a bad experience at all and would certainly go back if the occasion arose.

From the outside, The Sunnyside Pub just looks like a typical strip-mall joint; however, the inside is cozy. There are a handful of tables and booths, or you can sit at the bar. Our sever (he wasn't wearing a name tag) was very enthusiastic and friendly. My husband and I ordered some cajun tots, and even though we've ordered this staple at other McMenamins, they seemed even better at this location! The tots were hot and crispy, so kudos to the cook! We dip them in Portland ketchup, which trumps Heinz 57. :) I also ordered the seasonal hard cider- it was a spiced cider- and it was quite delicious!

  • John K.

Unlike many of the great McMenamins locations, this is in a strip mall. Having said that, it still has great brews; I had a Slow Float IPA which was quite good. They have outdoor seating, which was great in this awesome weather we've been having this summer (2015).

Completely unacceptable service! This was my first experience here. Walked in and sat down at a table. I noticed the table was dirty... As in, crush a cracker or two in your hands and sprinkle them on the table dirty, despite it being set for a new guest. I asked the waitress, a tall-ish brunette, if I could sit elsewhere or get it cleaned. She gave me a frustrated look and said "no, I'll clean it." She then commenced to seeing her other guests for a few minutes then came back with a towel and wiped off the table without even moving the menus or caddies on the table. She never apologized for a dirty restaurant or even boosted the nice factor for the inconvenience. Instead, with the table clearly still filthy, she just asked if I wanted something to drink. I immediately called my friend who was to meet me and said I will not stay here- and I left. This type of service and lack of attention to customers and cleanliness (floor was dirty, other booths were dirty as well) is what will tank a business... Managers... Please take note.

Sure, the food is good. But you'll find that at any McMinnamins. The service staff there, the woman in particular, are scattered and rude. Extremely slow, forgetful, and didn't try to rectify our bad situation.

    (2)
  • Don S.

Typical to all McMenamins the service is slow as tortoises. Very limited food menu, drinks ran out mixers. They are nice places but sloooow service.

  • Coleman Q.

Great place for beer and a burger. it is the Typical McMenamins food and drinks which is always nice. The location on the other hand??? Yikes. Few hammerheads and it wont bother you but let me warn you, its fairly small. This is a good place to go if you are diving with the old ball in chain and she says "I don't care where we go I am just hungry" then you will pull into this little strip mall and get good quality McMenamins food.

  • D C.

Food suggestions from server "Sarah K." 5-stars, ambiance 4 stars, beer-8 stars , and food when it came? OMG best ever, I got the Portland Dipper",y partner got the "tuna melt and Cajun tots"! Bought a "passport" after Sarah explained what fun we're missing ! Awesome

As always mcmenamins is awesome! Careful ordering a medium burger they come a bit on the rare side.

  • Glutius M.

Didn't actually get to eat. Waited at door to be seated and after 10 minutes of not even being acknowledged,we left. I see that you have things your doing, but, not even a "Hi, we'll be right with you", I'll spend my money elsewhere

    (2)
  • Ben C.

Food Poisoning! This location is filthy. 6 people in my our party came away with extreme cases Illness. WARNING. ZERO STARS.

    (1)
  • Gary A.

OK, it is a bar in a strip mall. Let's not fool each other. That said, it is a great place to grab a beer and a burger. They have all of the standard McMenimans beers and fare. The service is (generally) good, despite being busy. We always get served quickly and the help is always very friendly. If you are looking for a great view out the window, you are in the wrong place. If you want great beer, pub food and terrific service, this is the place for you!

    (5)
  • Jon K.

A small strip mall Mcmenimans? Yup. The food was very good, I had the bacon and egg burger with Cajun tots. The service was excellent even with the place filling fast for dinner. Great experience.

Visited on a saturday afternoon, we sat in the back in a semi dark booth across from the bar and stacks of metal kegs. The food was good, well cooked, but my gosh was the service lacking. So slooow (we're talking ~20 minutes probably), I wondered if our server would ever return to take our order. There's nothing special about the location either, its built into a strip mall. I wouldn't return

    (2)
  • Ronn D.

Cold beer, good food, nice atmosphere. I'll definitely eat here again. I had a bowl of tomato basil soup (good) and a dog they call 'Regal Beagle'. Great!

  • Angela W.

I feel inclined to preface this with the fact that I NEVER complain and worked in the restaurant industry for 15 years but had such a bad experience here today. The fries came and were so terribly under cooked. Mushy, unsalted. Not even browned and tasted freeze dried.. Then got the order wrong for my kids and then had $6.00 in various over charges. Look at your check carefully! Getting the cooking wrong happens. Getting the check wrong happens but all of it at once makes for a very bad experience. The server was clearly put out by the time we left and some of this was clearly not her doing but it is her job to make the mistakes right and also to check our bill to make sure our charges are correct (or not overcharge in the first place). No offers were made to discount the wrong food. Weak offer to fix the incorrect charges. The saving grace is that the food can be pretty good with decent quality ingredients if it gets to the table cooked properly.

McMenamins is kinda unique in that each location is totally different from the others. This one off the 205 is a nice surprise, cause you wouldn't expect it in a strip mall. The food is nice upscale bar food that actually tries without being stuffy. I had the jalapeño popper grilled cheese sandwich and soup, and the rest of the table ordered sandwiches and beers as well. Nothing too amazing to get crazy over, but consistent good food all around.

    (3)
  • Mathew M.

Pretty tired of having to wait so long to get service. If I come in with a larger group I get service right away. If I go in by myself and sit at the bar or outdoors I can wait for 5, 10, 15 minutes. Most recently I sat outside for a long time and was finally noticed by one of the people who came out to clean the other table as I was standing up to leave. The food is ok but it's not special and there are many bettet restaurants nearby. They need to work a little bit harder to earn your patronage.

  • Paul Y.

Food good but not much food variety.Slow service.Friendly atmosphere.Need more staff to serve food quicker.

  • S. H.

Waited 20 minutes to be seated then waited another 20 to place our order, took forty minutes to get our food which was a slight bit better than Burger King, but in NO WAY worth the ridiculous wait time!!!!! NEVER coming back!!!

  • Elika P.

Typical McMenamins location, with typical faire. The only highlight would be the Purple Haze brew. A fantastic ale reminiscent of a hefeweizen but with the finish of a shandy. I believe it is brewed with boysen berries for its tart sweet finish. If your enrolled in the passport program, a stamp and a beer is all you need.

McMenamins... What can we say about "McMenamins"!? I like to refer the them as the McDonalds of Microbrewery's. But we usually know what we are going to get when we go there, RIGHT? In this case the Sunnyside Pub went above and beyond that to prove service is NOT one of McMenamins strong points! Side note: My GF and I are McMenamins Passport holders and have visited as LOT of their restaurants. The service was the worst I've ever experienced at any McMenamins, EVER! I worked in this area and use to drop by for a pint now and again. It wasn't this bad 3 years ago. I asked for seasonal beer specials. To which I was offered one, then she said "Oh we have one more. Would you like to try it"? Well sure 5 minutes later she came bake. Really!? There wasn't even but 6 tables and 3 servers in the place! I asked for an IPA because I didn't want to wait another 5 minutes for her to come back. As she dropped off the Beer she asked about food. I mentioned I was meeting 4-5 more people and would wait or perhaps grab and Appetizer. She left... 10 more minutes goes by, Crickets! My girlfriend arrives... 5 more minutes go by and she (my GF) asks "Who's our server"? Eventually we got the attention of some other server so he could flag down the female doing nothing (I do mean nothing!). She strolls up asks the same question "would you like a drink"? After warning my GF of the Poor service she just ordered a Porter and pronto! 3 minutes goes by still no Porter. Now doing math, I've been here for nearly 20 minutes and she's only been able to poor 2 beers and a couple tastes. IT'S NOT BUSY!!! The rest of our party arrives so we move to a table with hopes of better service. At the new table we request a couple more beers for the newly arrived individuals, and waters all the way around. The beer shows up, no water. Off this guy goes not even asking about food. 5 more minutes goes by and he finally shows up to take our order, at which time we request water again, off he goes (oh crap will we ever be able to order!?). It's 15 minutes before we do get to order from the time we sat down. By now you get the point... I've never seen service this poor in or around Portland ever! The place gets busy... The crappy lady server turns the sign that now reads "wait to be seated" towards the door. This forces everyone to wait. We watched as we waited for our bill 10 minutes for any one of the servers to acknowledge the people standing at the door. We finally said we were leaving and they could take our spot. The only good thing I have to say about this place from this experience is the cook was Knocking out the food like Mad! Nice job on the Grill buddy (dude must be 6'6" and I wish I could give him more props for his efforts). Avoid this McMenamins if at all possible!

Had something new today! The Jalepenio Popper Grilled Cheese Sandwich. It was fantastic. If you like poppers you will love this. It is a grilled cheese but inside is cream chesse and jalapenios. Just like a big ol' popper. Service was good as always with McMenamins locations. I will be back for lunch again soon. Keep them scooby snacks on the menu!

A little place with good food (enjoyed the wrap and brownie with caram-ale sauce) and friendly wait staff.

The food was decent and server was nice enough, but the place was half empty and it still took 50 minutes to get our food. Won't be coming back.

We had good customer service, wait staff was friendly and order was quick. We asked for a few changes to some of our order and all was done to our liking.

If I could give no stars this would be the one. We waited 55 minutes for our food. This place is severely understaffed and unorganized. They are in desperate need of a bartender and hostess to contain the chaos!! Not sure why anyone would go back with such poor service. I know I won't!

    (1)
  • Cabbage J.

I got the mustard chicken sandwich and a few IPAs. Foods good... pub food. Comfort food. The prices are less affordable. Not the pinnacle of budget drinking--but the booths are sturdy and the food is consistent. It wont make the Food Network channel, but it better than Buffalo Wild Wings.

  • Chris E.

This place needs to replace their management. There's no bus or bartenders on staff. The waiters and waitresses have to tend bar, bus their own tables on top of their regular duties. The service is poor but only due to the management/owners business plan. The food was good. The beers are great!

    (2)
  • Ryan C.

The food is good, the beer is wonderful! The service could be bumped up a notch but not bad enough for a horrible review. I have been to bars a lot worse service than this one ;) Give em a chance, you might be surprised

  • Kari J.

Umm, this must be the McMenamins that McMenamins forgot. The place is poorly lit, outdated furniture, smells, grungy (not in a Seattle flannel shirt kinda way), the carpet felt dirty through my shoes, the whole place had a unkempt feel/vibe to it. I went in with the bf last night to meet up with some friends from out of town. The place was not busy and there were a few booths available in the front area...all dirty and one clean one way in the back (where we sat). The waitress was pushy and rushed us through out our entire visit...not appreciated. The only food I had was the tater tots (cajun style) which had no flavor whatsoever and were practically cold and under cooked. The drink I had was a whiskey and ginger...hardly any whiskey and the ginger ale was flat. We each suffered through two drinks a piece and food all around and were out of there in less than 1 hour. This place is a perfect example why I avoid chain restaurants.

I am not a super fan of the cookie cutter-ness of mcmennamins. This location though has a chill cozy mellow place. I def would only go to happy hour good prices. Decent food.

    (4)
  • David H.

I'm not sure why there are so many people that have less than good things to say about this location in their reviews. While it doesn't have the ambiance of many of the Mc-Brother's other locations, the staff is really good, the food is their standard fare, the atmosphere is inviting, and the beers and hard-cider don't disappoint. I get that it's not Kennedy School or Edgefield, but you're in Clackamas - which I'm pretty sure is Native-American for "snooty and boring". Get over it and enjoy the experience. Otherwise, drive for 30 minutes and go to another location already.

  • Derek W.

Service sucks. But hey it's McMenamins. If you want great service you would have gone pretty much anywhere else on the planet. Who knew Crater Lake root beer is worth $11 for three glasses of it? As far as I know everyplace I've ever been...soda always has free refills. Here though its poured from golden taps.

Not that I really care about language... I do curse like a sailor at times... But I don't do so at work. I don't talk about other co-workers behind their backs at work either... And I don't even work in a place that puts me in front of customers! This loud, chubby little waitress thought it was appropriate to talk as loud as possible about one of their new employees being a flake and not showing up for shifts and making other co-workers angry. She also continued by calling him a *ussy (you know, a lady part and/or cat). Now, I understand that there were only two tables seated... It was this past Saturday, so most people were probably getting ready for their Halloween parties, but come on. Yes, it's a pub, but minors are allowed into the restaurant until 10:00pm. This was definitely before 10:00... Probably closer to 7:00. But it's unprofessional on two levels. 1. We get to know all the drama in your poorly ran restaurant. 2. You're a foul-mouthed woman in a public setting. Our food got to our table pretty quick (for once) though... And it was completely covered in grease. It wasn't hard to pick up my burger because it was too hot from being fresh. It was hard to pick up because it was completely saturated in oil. I understand the fries, but really? The bun on my burger? This place is just a super hot mess. There was a long while I stopped coming here because I moved and was closer to the 205 McMenamins... But I think I'll drive an extra 15 minutes to hit that one if this is seriously what this one has come to.

Bleh. I usually like McMenamins but not this one. Slow service, smaller menu and the tables are too crowded together. Skip it. McCools up Sunnyside is a better bet.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet... Place is filthy, service is TERRIBLE (there were only 4 other tables), but the Black & Tan Brownie and Ruby Ale were delicious.

    (2)
  • Gil K.

If you know McMenamins, you will know what to expect. Food is the same and beer is the same. I live up the street so it's convenient to meet up a buddy here. The service is decent, I wouldn't say hit or miss. I never had a bad experience. I think it's the smallest one I've been to, but that doesn't matter, it usually isn't busy when I go. If you're craving a pint of Terminator and a Communication-breakdown with tots..you know where to go.

    (4)
  • Leslie R.

Service moved at a glacial pace. We literally stood by the door for about 30 minutes without any staffer even glancing in our direction. Despite the fact that they had a couple of open tables. Then, once seated, it took about 15 minutes to get a menu. However, the food was OK & there was air conditioning. Given the small number of the tables in the place and 6 visible staff, the ratio was about 2 tables per employee. Given that, you'd think they could pick up the pace, eh?

I have always loved Mcmenamins and have always been disappointed by the service. Alas I still keep coming back. Came here for lunch right at the peak of lunchtime, bad idea. Everyone was running around with their heads cut off. While we were greeted twice and asked about drinks, it actually took forever to get them even though we were sitting at the bar. Same with the food. Later I had inquired about their restaurant "passport" which I overheard someone talking about and had briefly seen before. the waitress seemed annoyed and really short about it. Like I said, I've never been a fan of their service at any of their restaurants. But for some reason I'm in love with the atmosphere. This one is pretty small located in a strip mall. If you're looking for a quick lunch, get there when they open or after 1, unless you want to wait over an hour for a sandwich or burger. For those curious about the passport, it seems like a cool idea. They're available at every mcmenamins for $20. Right now online for the holidays it's $35 for both your passport and a $20 gift card. Basically you take it to everyone mcmenamins you go to and get it stamped for specific things. You win different prizes along the way when you aquire a certain amount of stamps. Seems fun, I just might give it a try.

Have been to many McMinnamin's; I enjoy their casual, interesting style and good brews. But I had a bad experience here. The kind that makes you wonder if this one needs a more-skilled manager. Had a craving for fish and chips with a good beer, so stopped in. First impression: group of six in the middle of the room had one of those guys who loves to tell funny stories, loud voice, lot's of laughter at their table. That's OK; gives the place a lively atmosphere. But after sitting for a while, you realize the stories are vulgar and several in the the group are dropping "F" bombs--especially our loud guy. Given the mixed crowd, not cool, and employees doing nothing about it. Look around the room, and can see we aren't the only ones who feel this way. I finally asked the server to do something. She said something to them and it got a little better. To make matters worse, it took over half an hour to get our food. When we asked, the server said, "looks like he's putting all the fish in (the fryer) now, so it shouldn't be much longer." Suggesting to me that the cook waited until he had multiple orders, before cooking the fish. We won't go back to this Mcminamin's location.

I don't know what it is about McMenamins. I like most of their food, I like the beer, but their service is crappy. I think the Sunnyside one is the worst I have been to though and it was no different when I visited the other night. My friends already had a table when I arrived and when I did the waiter didn't even come over to me for about ten minutes. When he did make it over, his response after I asked for something was that he would have made it over five minutes ago but he wasn't sure if I was going to order. Wasn't sure? He should have asked when I sat down! This is not my first time experiencing this kind of treatment at this establishment. During my visit, I also noticed that there was hardly a waiter anywhere in the main eating area. Its like they had a secret poker game in the back and had to take turns to check on the customers. Now you are probably wondering if I even have anything good to say about this place and I do. Despite the bad service, the food and beer are still good. When I eat here, I get the Maria's Masterpiece sandwich with turkey, bacon, onions, swiss cheese and secret sauce. It is delicious and a side of tots with ranch makes it better. Also, no one has a better beer than the Ruby. This is probably one of the reasons I even come to McMenamins because there is nothing like a Ruby ale. I don't mind other McMenamins, Edgefield is always fun during the summer, but I will pass on Sunnyside until the service is better.

I really wish I can leave an informative review for this restaurant but unfortunately I never made it past the "Please Wait to be Seated" sign. I went in with a group of four other people and we stood there for fifteen minutes without a single employee turning their head or acknowledging us. A couple more people came in after us and left almost instantly once they realized nothing was going to happen. Hoping that perhaps we might eventually get some service because they were probably just busy at the moment, we lingered around for a few more minutes until it was obvious that we weren't going to be seated. Not that we expected it since the entire row of empty tables right in front of us still had dirty plates on it and the only available booth had no table. Thank you for making my first experience at this restaurant my last.

Since my previous review, I've eaten here a couple of times. The food was cold, the service slow, and it didn't taste particularly good. Worst McMenamins I've eaten at. Would not eat here again. This is one of the smaller McMenamins, which is fine. I didn't try the food, but I had their own brand hard cider which was delicious. It had a nice "local" atmosphere with plenty of regulars which gave it a good pub vibe. However our server was WAY overeager. Despite the fact it wasn't busy he would arrive every 10 minutes to ask if we were done or wanted anything else. It was SUPER annoying. Otherwise I would give this spot a 4 star.

If you're not planning on ordering a beer, don't bother coming here.

I am usually a big fan of McMenamins - even their strip mall establishments are usually reliable sources of good beer & decent food with friendly service. This one...not so much. I've had problems repeatedly with the service - even with staff all over and empty tables in the small space, we've been told they are too busy and we can sit down if we want but that they will probably not get to us for a very long time. Understandable, on occasion I guess, but it has happened repeatedly and at off-peak times.

I can't speak about McM's a year ago, but today... I think this one is GREAT. The service can get backed up when they are busy, and they are busy a LOT. (which is a good sign, since many of the locals come there) like Betsy said, the specials are missed when they go.... oh, how I miss their lamb burgers!

Indifferent service, mediocre beer. Didn't get to try the food. Probably just as well.

If you are going to take an order, not write it down and get it wrong don't bother. Seems to be the practice of the servers at this location. Well, that an then arguing and making excuses on top of it. This was the final straw. We will not be going back.

Great beer selection with great happy hour prices. We love the burgers and the cheesy artichoke dip is awesome! The fries are not great but the tots are delicious. Great atmosphere, friendly service. We have only had slow service once, but it was a very busy Saturday night. This place is a favorite for my kids. We love this Mcmenamins!

I had the special pulled pork sandwich which was very good and a well made Manhattan cocktail. Wife had a salad that she enjoyed. Busy but they were very attentive to all. I've been here before and was not impressed but glad I gave them another try.

Out of all the Mcmenamins I have been to, this one is the worse one. I don't know what it is, but it ain't Mcmenamins. The food is terrible, small portions, and service is questionable. A group of us ordered cajun tator tots and spinach dip. I was shocked when both of them arrived at very small portions. They were very very salty and not very flavorful. Is it because it's located in the Clackamas area, who knows??? The only thing they got right was the beer. Me think not to come back to this dump.

Man, all the not-so-good reviews for Clackamas McMenamins! I live about 7 minutes away, so when I'm craving a Wilbur Burger, I come here. I REALLY like this place! I have been to other McMenamins as well and I don't really see a difference in food or service. I pretty much always get the Wilbur and tots (on top of an appetizer of tots) and the boyfriend always gets the Backyard Burger and a salad and a Ruby or a Rubinator (his newfound love). The appetizer tots are a great size (with leftovers) and the cajun ones that we get sometimes are flavorful. I wish they were spicy though. The peppercorn ranch is one of my favorite things in the world. I usually dip my burger in that. Is that a culinary no-no? I don't care. The one thing I don't like is sitting at a table. I always feel so exposed. I will suck it up and do it, but if we're at a table and a booth opens up, I ask to be moved. The boyfriend loves it when I do this - NOT. I think what seals the deal for me is the service. I think we've only had one bad experience with a new server and we actually haven't seen that one since that experience. The servers are fantastic. If we haven't been in in a while, they greet us as if we are long lost friends. It's a good feeling.

The website says, "Off center from the Town Center at Clackamas Mall." What does that mean, off center? Does it mean at an odd angle, or could it mean across the freeway and no where near Town Center? Alas, it is the later that is correct. It's in a little mini-mall near an urgent care center, on the east side of 205. The mall is west of 205. Off center. It took us a looooong time to get our lunch. And per usual McMenamins, it was totally uninspired, bland and drippy. Sandwiches shouldn't drip. Service was perfunctory. Overall not worth returning. There is a bar further east on Sunnyside, McCool's, that has a much better Happy Hour, great service, and the food, while not gourmet, is much better. If you are working at the hospital and want a quick beer on your lunch break (not that I recommend that, it's bad, don't do that), I guess it is convenient for that purpose, but the slow service and uninteresting food makes it low on my list of places to visit on my precious lunch break.

If I could give them negative stars I would. For one this place is the size of a nail salon in a strip mall, two the have the worst service I have ever encountered in a "restaurant". My boyfriend and I walked in the door, saw a huge please wait to be seated sign so we did. The waitress walked by us literally 5 times and the bartenders just starred at us as well the so called manager and not one person said a word to us. Really is it that hard to just say hi and acknowledge our existence? Worst service ever, after waiting 10 minutes we said F it and left. Don't go here!

I wanted to give five stars simply to offset the one star review, but honesty prevails; it's a solid four-star kinda place. DELICIOUS burgers, super crispy tots, and specials you'll miss when they're gone. (Examples: artichoke soup and sloppy joes.) They have great beer and a nice selection on tap. Service is friendly and laid back. Prices are fair. I'm really not sure what there is to dislike.

Flew in after work and was actually pooped but my friend wanted to go out but we didn't know our convention spot was not in Portland but Clackamas. Good grief where the hell is Clackamas says this non-native. Since neither one of us had a car but the hotel had a shuttle that would take us around the local vicinity, we first attempted Gustav's but that was closing so no go. So our shuttle driver and other folks that knew the area suggested McMenamins. My friends and I were thinking "Man, Oregon comes up with some tongue twisters of names. From Clackamas to McMenamins," thank gawd none of us were drunk yet. Would never had known that there was bar in strip mall. Typical pub food nothing amazing. Probably not one of McMenamins more interesting spots but if you're stuck in Clackamas and it's late this is probably your only option. I would definitely want to check out McMenamins other spots though.
