4 of us made the mistake of dining here because locals recommended it. No bottled wine, only glasses of old Merlot, so we drank bottled beer. Pot stickers looked like bricks made of old pastry, filling was inedible. Our 4 meat and vegetable dishes were all tasteless and awful, with tough, hard as rocks pieces of pork and chicken, overcooked vegetables and terrible sauce. I could eat only the rice, which was not the appropriate sticky Asian variety but more the Uncle Ben's type. Service slow and unfriendly to boot.

Great food consider splitting the Meal because portions are large

I cannot drill this into your head enough: patience is a virtue... and it reaps massive, massive rewards if you can wait for the food at Linda's Thai Room. The most efficient way to get grub through this establishment is to call for take-out and wait a bit, as Linda makes the food homestyle herself. Your average wait-time is about an hour - I admit, it's a highly unorthodox setup, but be patient. Also, Linda will call you back when your food is ready and let you know you can drop by for pick up. You will definitely have the best meal in Burns - possibly one of the best from-scratch Thai meals ever.

I'll agree with other reviewers here- the food is quite good, but the wait is interminable, and the prices are way over the top for a town like Burns. $15.00 for Tom Ka Gai soup? Seriously? The food is very good, and yes, it is made to order, but waiting an hour for one's meal is not what I think of when I want to get some Thai food.

I love the food. Best food in Burns. That said.... Service sucks, wait time is longer than it should be, they dont' cook in the order the orders are received, they serve other people better than others, the attitude in the place generally stinks. Their food is fantastic. Problem is, they know it. So they know they can be jerks to you - that's the bottom line. Best way to experience this place? Order the food to go, and pick it up an hour later.

Terrible service and high prices. Food is mixed, sweet and sour chicken tasted like chef boyardees and pad se we had lo Mein noodles and was tasteless , had to wait for two hours and they charged extra for take out. The curry was good.

I would argue that Linda's is the best restaurant in Burns based purely on quality of food... maybe tied with the Pine Room? It is about as slow as food gets though. They do have a sign in the main dining area that states that they are not fast food and that all the food is made when you order, so it's kind of cool in an unapologetic kind of way. I really like the hot curry myself. I also like how the restaurant is set up - pretty standard in the front part of the building (which has been known as the Elkhorn for at least 60 years now) with booths and a sitting counter that I've never seen anyone sit at. The rear part has a beautiful wood bar with several tables and feels more like an extension of Linda's home than a continuation of the front part of the restaurant. There are photos and posters and decorations of everything Thai all over the place. Linda's shares the same shortcoming as most restaurants in Burns: customer service, or lack thereof. It obviously depends on who's working at the time, as there is one waitress who is relatively good about taking orders and checking on drink refills, etc.. But then there's the other guy who will take you to a table, stand there, and not say a word until you tell him what you want. Very awkward. I wouldn't let that put you off from giving this place a try though.
