Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Pizza Mondo is good, Little Pizza Paradise can be good, Abby's used to be good... This place, beats them all, by a long shot! Best crust of any pizza parlor in Oregon. I would go so far as to say, it's too good and causes me to over-indulge! The prices are typical Bend... Higher than sensible. That being said, who cares how much it costs. It is just THAT good!

Frosty beer mug.... hello friend. I know, there is some "rule" about beer temps but I love mine cold. Great service, very friendly gal who answered any and all questions with a smile. Pizza was well done. Cornmeal crust is a tad over the top but it was still really good. Maybe 30% less corn and it would be snazzy. Saw someone else get the pesto breadsticks and will be back for those!

I like the location and the atmosphere here. I also enjoy the pizza except for one thing, I don't like that cornmeal crunch in the crust. It's not enough to get me to say that I dislike the crust because it's actually very good. I just wish it didn't have that. Good pie overall though!

If you want a pizza loaded with toppings and flavor this is the place, the crust is crispy and the meats and veggies are great, no soggy or slippery pizzas here . We always order the " Big Italian " you can get it with or without mushrooms, we sub the mushrooms for green bell pepper ( one of us can't eat mushrooms, too bad because they look good ) A large will feed 3-4 hungry people or get the family size to take home extra for the next day . We have been going to Vesante since they were on Hwy 97 and followed them to the current location, bring a coupon an it is a real value.

When it was in its previous location we had the pizza delivered. The pizza was cold, toppings slid off the pizza, the pieces were completely seperated and the pizza had no flavor! What a disappointment, haven't been back since.

My partner has celiac disease, and it's very difficult to find restaurants where he can safely eat, especially pizza places. Versante has the first truly gluten free pizza we've come across in Bend thus far. It is delicious, too, which is difficult to achieve with gluten free pizza. We also love that they do not charge extra for their gluten free pizza - it's the same price as the regular pizza. It means so much when this disease impacts our food budget so heavily, even when we cook at home. If you have celiac disease, I highly recommend Versante, and if you don't I still recommend it, because their pizza is delicious and their salad bar is great too!

Healthy potion of toppings, nicely crispy. Frosty mug for beer. Pretty good selection of beer. Nice people

I would really like to give this local place a good review. Unfortunately, the pizza wasn't even okay. We recently had a team party here, I think at the numerous requests of one of the parents, I'm not sure why as the pizza was so bland as to not even rate on a taste scale. The crust, which was paper thin (and I generally like thin crust pizza!) was dry and had an odd waxy, stale "flavor". There was plenty of cornmeal or semolina or something on it which was gritty and unappetizing. I know it's there to keep the pizza from sticking to the pan, but wow...overload. The young lady who took our order was helpful and smiled. She did great. The food runner seemed to be doing a good job too. No issues with the staff. The place was clean and had video games for the kids. It was decorated kind of cool. IPA in a frozen mug is not a good choice, but they had some local brew = nice touch. A few friends had wine and we joked that a beer drinker must have ordered the glasses. Tiny wine glasses and huge beer mugs! Lovely if you're a beer drinker. ;-) Unfortunately, I have had frozen pizza in college that was way better than this. :-( I wish I had spent my $30 bucks (for a large) at Old Towne Pizza instead. Their pizza is over-the-moon amazing. Pizza Mondo or Cibelli's are also good local choices. But I won't go to Versante again. Blech.

Have eaten here a couple of times. Great location by our house. Yummy pizza, better than average salad bar. Love that the windows in front open up like garage doors to give the feeling of patio dining. Last time we went it was very loud with lots of families with small children. Don't come here if you want to have a quiet conversation when they are busy. Super casual.
(3)Caitlin D.
Went there for dinner and the pizza was terrible! It has no flavor. Hardly any sauce and cheese on it. The dough was chewy. Don't plan on going back. Yet, the cheesy sticks and salad were ok.
(2)Samantha P.
Had the chicken garlic pizza and to me it was meh but my husband enjoyed it a lot. The thin crust was hard rather than crispy and not nearly enough sauce (seemed like none at all to me). We also had the cheese garlic bread which was also meh to me due to not enough garlic and too much cheese. The high light of the meal for me was the red sauce for dipping the bread in. It was fabulous and I wish that it had been on our pizza.
(3)Nikki G.
SUPER GOOD PIZZA! This is my most favorite pizza in town no doubt about it baby!!!!! Hahaha! But it's really good! The ladies are always so sweet and they always bring your pizza hot and fresh it
(5)Jennifer H.
Went in for lunch today with my Two year old. I ordered two slices with a beer for $10. Pizza was ok not bad but definitely nothing to rave about. Seems thick and the cheese slides off. Service was good. The girl who helped us was really friendly and seemed genuine. I enjoyed the location since I used to really like westside cafe. Beer was good in a nice cold frosty mug. Will give it another chance and explore more of the menu soon.
(3)Hannah B.
Not my slice. I'm a crust girl and I want more carb and less cornmeal. Otherwise a fine place. The salad bar was fresh with a nice variety of toppings. Service prompt and friendly.
(3)Sarah J.
We have come here 5 times ... 4 of which someone has the wrong order. Nice -- don't order anything except the basics! The kitchen staff can't get anything right. Don't trust their gluten free or veggie etc
(1)Camille H.
First time visit at their new location. Tried the grape reduction and sausage pizza on one half and sausage, mushroom, olive on the other and thought it was great. Love their thin crispy crust. Boneless chicken wings weren't crispy which was a disappointment. We tried their "hot" wings and the sauce was tasty. I think it's Frank's hot sauce as the base which is good by me. Great beers on tap, I tried Deschutes Fresh Squeezed. Salad bar wasn't inviting, but that's ok because I hadn't planned on trying it. Nice staff, quick service. More expensive than the other non-chain pizza joints in town.
(4)Krisi G.
Great fast service! Amazing taco pizza and perfect crust. They served our entire baseball team tonight after a championship game. Thanks again.
(5)Liz C.
Excellent pizza, friendly service. Decent selection of local brews. They have three large screen TVs, the atmosphere is rustic funky. Would recommend to anyone visiting Bend, Oregon. The price is right too. Good for a friends meeting place or to take your family
(5)Cally M.
We had a delightful date night we shared a small pizza and the Cesar salad and still had leftovers for the next day. The crust is the best in Bend and the toppings are always yummy! As a special treat we added the garlic cheese bread and it was delicious. It was warm and soft with loads of cheese. This is our go to pizza place in Central Oregon.
(5)Angel C.
Great pizza and sevice. My husband and I have tried all of the crusts they have. His favorite is the soft and I like their regular cornmeal crust because it is nice and crispy, but the gluten free is good too. Usually pretty generous with the amount of toppings too. The girls up front are always friendly. Great local beer choices.
(5)Joe B.
Great food some of the best pizza in town also they have really good pastas and salads there home made lasagna is really good
(5)Gregory D.
Great location on the Westside of Bend. Nice open area with good ambiance. Pizza is quite good. Crispy cornmeal like crust, but soft on the inside. They pile on the toppings. Great lunch special. Two slices (with 3 toppings) and a beer for $10. Well worth it.
(4)Aidan B.
Do you like pizza? No? Do you like beer and know somebody that likes pizza? Perfect! Verasante is for you. Good ambiance, and great for kids, but don't forget the quarters, and help your kid out on the Pacman machine; it takes some navigating, but there is every classic arcade game you can imagine! The pizza isn't for those with 20 dollars in their pocket, but it's worth every penny! The pizza is cut into small and managable slices so even the younger kids can manage it. Note: I don't endorse feeding your toddler pizza, I mean your 6 year old. A older member of my family says that the beer has a decent selection. That's all I know on that front. I can't say that this restuarnt is outstanding, even though I didn't mention anything negative about it. I just have a gut feeling that says "4 stars and 4 slices of pizza!" If you are in the mood for pizza and live on the Westside, I recommend Versante Pizza. I normally order Pepperoni and Canadian Bacon, but that's just me.
(4)Sheri D.
Awesome pizza! Great thin crust and still crunchy!
(5)Jet C.
One of the few places in Bend if not the only that he is super utensils and ovens for their gluten-free pizzas. Although it's 20+ dollars for medium pizza which I could eat by myself. It is good pizza. Also Holly one of their employees has done a great job of always making sure you're well taken care of and that everything comes out right.
(5)JP S.
Gluten free by the slice and an awesome lunch special--2 slices and a drink for $10. The best gluten free I've had out.
(5)Chuck M.
From one out-of towner to another = go eat here! Seemed like a lot of locals in the place which I took as a good sign. A little off the beaten path, (5 minutes)but so worth it. Good pastas, good beer selection (it's Bend), and awesome pizza. Had the Ricardo = it should probably be rated the best pizza ever. Check it out when you go there (and you should) all the pizzas looked great. Versante is now on our list of must stop at places when in Bend!!
(5)Bret D.
Great traditional thin crust pizza. I haven't had thin crust in a very long time. Most complaints I see with Versante are regarding the crust. Apparently the people complaining have never had a thin crust pizza. Pity. Pizza was great, price decent. My one suggestion is to NOT serve ales in frosted glasses. Its not how an ale should be served. Bud Light is Ok, but not an IPA. Beer 101. It's a bit spendy for a walk up order. That's probably what kept it from being half a star more.
(3)Robert B.
Welcome to Bend Versante Pizza! I love the large list of both Classic and Gourmet pizza. Great location and walking distance from Drake Park! This is another great addition to the Galveston family of restaurants.
(3)Allan H.
Took the fam out for pizza at this new location on Galveston. Great pizza and gluten free option is awesome. Place was still under construction and look forward to seeing how it turns out!
(4)Scot B.
Meh... I've been to the old location on 3rd st for takeout with friends before. Didn't have any comments then, so I guess it was OK. They moved, and it didn't bother me at all. We got a gift certificate for Christmas and decided to give the place a try. Saturday night during ski season...not going to do that again. I called ahead and was told that there was "plenty of seating, but there's a large group. Pizza oven's full and it will be ready in 30 minutes." We pre-ordered the pizze and headed out. We arrived 15 minutes later and every seat was taken, people standing in line. Either they all materialized in the 5 minutes after my call, or I was misled. Pizzas were on the tables, people were starting to eat having just gotten their meals. Yeah...misled. Ambiance: LOUD, raucous, crowded, uncomfortable. There was no way we were going to stand there with our pizzas (notice I didn't say 'HOT pizzas'?) and wait for a table. So before I could even say a word to the hostess, she handed me two boxes with the pizzas. I was actually stunned...not because she read my mind, but because she PRESUMED I was going to leave without even a word to/from us. She could have said "here...now get out" and the effect would have been the same. I didn't think to ask if there was parmesan or peppers...there weren't. Brought the pizzas home and they were good...not great...and certainly not hot. Warm is about all I can say. I liked the crust, and it's exactly what I would have expected. I see other reviews about the cornmeal crust, and yes...that's exactly what it was. Crunchy, well-cooked crust, cooked dough, but not overcooked. Ordered: * The Woody Canadian bacon, pepperoni and linguica Lg. $24 * Creamy Garlic Chicken Creamy garlic ranch sauce topped with our 3 cheese blend, sundried tomatoes, red onions and grilled chicken Md. $21 So here's the thing...and why I can not go above 3 stars. I put the pizzas on the counter, stepped back a second and realized I was looking at $45 worth of pizza. No...looking at maybe $30 worth of pizza that I was charged $45 for. If I were mid-20s or 30s, a ski bum/hipster/beer drinker with a disposable income, I'd feel right at home. But 'm not...so I'll be ordering from other pizzas places...and staying right at home.

Sorry to break the news to you but this pizza is not good. The crust is very hard. That's the best word to describe it. Not crunchy but hard. We tried their gluten free before and chalked it up to gluten free texture but we just discovered that the regular crust is the same. The salad was also very sad, I will post a photo. Your favorite frozen pizza at home will be better. If you are in bend go to: PIZZA MONDO, it's awesome!!!! And a little cheaper! Cibelli's across the street is also very good if take out or outdoor seating is sufficient.
(1)Metzga K.
Service was great. The pizza however was still doughy, cheese was barely melted and the whole pie was hardly warm. We sent it back to the oven and it came out 2 minutes later but not any warmer. Won't go back there. Could have bought 3 pizzas at Costco that were hot with melted cheese.
(2)Eli G.
Lasagna was good. Sauce was very flavorful. Chicken boneless wing were not worth the cost. Shrimp salad was okay. However the biggest issue was the inefficient kitchen work. Costumers should never request if food is coming. I was not the only person coming up to the counter.
(1)Amy K.
Super casual place with yummy pizza with a delicious cornmeal crust. I am particular about my pizza (especially the crust) and Versante hit the mark. We had a large group and they were easily able to accommodate us on a Saturday. Order at the counter and they will give you a number and bring out your order when it's ready. Our group had a range of pizzas...a gluten free Hawaiian, a couple of family size meat pizzas (one had sausage and pepperoni, not sure on the other) and a couple of us split a large spinach pizza (feta, spinach, red onion, sun-dried tomatoes). They offer salads, calzones and I believe some pastas. Decent tap list. Won't break the bank either.
(4)Alisia V.
I love the richardos pizza, that's my fave. They have a pretty good Italian sub too.
(5)Michael W.
Best gluten free pizza in town. Great flavor combos/toppings and good prices too. The inside ambiance is really nice but we usually sit outside or get it to go. Good beer and wine options as well
(5)Kerry G.
Pesto Veggie or Pesto Chicken and Mt Bachelor is yum! Hands down, best GF pizza options in town.
(5)Nicole E.
Pretty darn good pizza! And I like their combo meals. Their crust is yummy, think it has cornmeal on it or something? Last time I ordered a veggie slice and there ended up being some Canadian bacon on it somehow :/ that's a problem since I'm vegetarian! Other than that though, great and I love the wood tables and vibe they've got going on.
(3)Colin R.
I usually like this style of crust but this pizza is just bland, and not to mention WAY over priced! a large margherita pizza is $25!. It was so bland that I had to add salt and garlic powder to make it edible. Also 15" large? Large pizzas should be 16" if your medium is 14". If you are going to spend that much money on a pizza go to Hot Rock Pizza (18" margherita pizza $22!) or Mondo they are WAY better.
(1)Kris T.
Gross. How can pizza be so awful? Burnt on the bottom. Hard as a rock. Cardboard like crust. Ick. I don't expect they'll last much beyond the summer in their new location.
(1)Luke K.
This place has a nice atmosphere! Someone has put a lot of time and work into the interior of this restaurant. The lunch service is sorely lacking. The girl at the counter during the few times I've been here showed an incredible lack of enthusiasm while working, and after eating their pizza, I understand why. I'm unsure whether it's the dough or the cooking method, but the pizza here is painfully crispy and dry. I've come back a couple times after my first visit to give it another chance, but won't be back. If you'd like to recreate the texture of this pizza at home, I'd recommend topping some saltine crackers made of gravel with red sauce and cheese.
(2)Sam R.
Super friendly staff, even when we came in 45 minutes before closing. Really good gluten free pizza, the crust is perfectly crispy and not too thin, and there's no extra charge for GF. Great atmosphere as well, we will be back!
(5)Tess P.
I love their gluten free crust. It's a fun place to go and the new location is great. We always eat here when we are in Bend and will continue to do so. They have a good selection of toppings and make a good pie.
(4)HeyLaura W.
They definitely have the best gluten free crust in town. I love that it is not totally crispy all the way through, but has a bit of a chewiness to it. They don't have a vegan cheese option, which is too bad. The tables are too close together. Most of the tables have benches instead of chairs, and you need a lot more room to get off of a bench! I felt crowded and uncomfortable with my back nearly pressed against the people behind me. Their prices should be lower. Yeah, they use higher quality ingredients than Pizza Hut, but not the farm-to-table locavore type products that Local Slice offers, and yet their prices are about the same as Local Slice. Boo! Pizza is so cheap to make; why jack up the prices like that?!
(3)Tko T.
We like the pizza, but we like crispy crust pizza. The red sauce has a nice zing to it. Their lunch specials, which they honor on weekends, are a hit. Our favorite is the slice, large salad and drink for $8. I really makes it easy for people with different tastes! There is also a decent amount of beer on tap and most of it local. A must for Bend.
(4)Gina R.
Pizza as bland as the customer service. Lunchtime counter woman barely acknowledged our existence last two times there, not to mention not a smile anywhere in the hour there both times. Tried a sub today because my five year likes going there and playing the video games so I gave them another chance. It was barely edible. The few pieces of beef that were on it were so dried out and the bread overdone that even the au jus didn't soften it. Gave them three tries and they are out.
