Awesome coffee and we had egg sandwiches and quiche. Fabulous! Seems to be a favorite spot for bicyclists.

Be aware that this business underwent a change of ownership, mid-summer, 2014. It was NOT a change for the better. Previously a place with great coffee, extraordinarily good baked goods, and some terrific breakfast and lunch items, it is now a place of average quality food, and worse than average service. I have been back three times since the ownership change, and so it's fair to pull out the old maxim: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on ME. Was in yesterday, lousy experience. Though a line had formed, the young man at the counter suddenly became fascinated with inspecting, then unloading, the dishwasher. After that (all this 10 feet from me), he went to the back to get some supplies of some sort. After carefully rearranging his apron for a bit, he finally came to the counter to take my order, mumbling so badly that I wasn't sure whether he wanted to take my order or tell me to beat it. He was taciturn, bordering on surly. Unless the current management gets its act together, and teaches its employees how to properly interact with customers, a previously thriving 5 star business is doomed to failure. In 2014, the options for coffee are many, and paying good money for crap service, mediocre coffee, and indifferent food is a thing of the past.

Based on other reviews we gave this a try. Don't know how people gave it 5 stars. The Americano was weak and the regular coffee, according to my husband, was mediocre. I had a gluten free muffin which was good but that was the only choice for gf. Not a place I would return to but since we don't live here it's a moot point.

We spent a few days with my sister in Sisters and looked around for homes/property in the area. Loved the walkability of the town and all the bicycle trails. On our way out early this morning we stopped for coffee in Tumalo. Great little place in seemingly the middle of nowhere. Good coffee, cozy feeling/decor and lots of really good looking baked items. My husband had an egg sandwich which was quite good and my teenager exclaimed over the ham and egg croissant. So, we couldn't find much that was worthy and affordable in Sisters but now we think we might consider moving to Tumalo. A good coffee house has that kind of power. Does anyone have a nice small house or buildable lot for sale?

We needed coffee and breakfast, badly. Read: hangover. And we wanted real coffee--fortunately, this place had both and it was right off the main road. The coffee was far better than other spots we'd found in the area, and the breakfast choices were good too. I'd go back.

Bend is awash in coffee houses of all kinds, from Starbucks to local roaster endeavors. So it would have to be a pretty special coffee house that would be worth the roughly 10 mile (minus) drive from downtown Bend to get there. Tumalo Coffeehouse is that special of a place. Just outside Bend city limits and well worth the drive for fun ambiance, friendly service (by the proprietor), excellent coffee (from local roaster 11R), fantabulous baked goods (all made in house), some savories too like egg sandiwches and lunch wraps, fair prices and a universally accessible venue from entry throughout More to generate my "woohoo" outcome was the sound system playing a nice music mix at a just right low volume to have it not compete with conversation. Today we entered to a Janis Joplin tune and departed to Rod Stewart singing "I wish I knew then what I know now, when I was younger...". Sing it, Brother! Ain't it the truth! Bright paintings grace the walls of the well lit space with large windows looking out onto the street. Seating is available at a sofa, a couple of leather chairs by a window, well spaced tables and chairs in the middle of the room or a couple of stools at a counter by another window. The latter was where my hubby and I perched and watched the passers by on the main drag of Cook Avenue in the little town of Tumalo and sipped an excellent Americano and nibbled deliciously, addictively good sweet treats. For the record, we are on a "it started at New Year" diet, hubby and I. I'm not quite sure how the chocolate covered, salted caramel shortbread bar he chose or the Donut Muffin I had work into that diet. But life is short and opportunities don't always stick around, so eat them we did. (Remember that Rod Stewart tune I mentioned above?) Not only were the sweets delectable but the Americano was first rate. I can think of a lot of swanky coffee bar baristas who would benefit from spending time with the owner here to learn how she makes one. Fortunately for us, this is less than 8 miles from our house. Since those tender crumb, just sweet enough, nutmeg kissed and rolled in cinammon sugar Donut Muffins will be calling my name, that sure is a convenient distance to be able to answer the Siren's call! THIS N THAT: 1) Parking lot in the back of the building. It includes accessible (aka ADA parking) too. 2) A small front patio has a table and some seating for warmer weather times. 3) Universal access here. Rear entry is level in and there is a ramped sidewalk at front entry across from a short flight of steps. Using wheelchair or pushing strollers, works for both. 4) Books and games for little kids is a sweet thing. My five year old grand-niiece loved it. 5) This has been open since November and although I pay pretty close attention to "food buzz" in my community, I only learned of it yesterday when Doug W.posted photos on Yelp. Thanks to Doug! PS UPDATE: For some reason, the Yelp-bot put Doug's review (really he should have the first to review credit) and other five star reviews behiind the filter. :-( Recommend you look behind the filter to read them.

I was in the area briefly and HAD to find good coffee! In an area with many great coffee shops I chose to find the off the beaten path Tumalo. Delicious!! Great coffee, yummy lavender honey to add in and housemade chai!! Wishing I could stick around long enough to enjoy all they have to offer. Super sweet and friendly new owners and great ambiance.

OMG, the baked goods are incredible. The donut muffin, not to be missed (it's on par with the iconic Ocean Roll from a certain Bend bakery and that is the highest praise possible from me). The breakfast sandwiches, delicious and easy to eat on the road. Need a snack bar for your jersey pocket or day pack? Try the gluten free bar. Oh yeah, excellent coffee and wonderfully nice owner/baker and staff. My husband and I are thrilled to have such a wonderful coffee house as we start road trips north.

Some of the worst coffee I've ever had, will never go back. Just go across the street to the convenience store, the coffee there is bound to be better.

Outstanding in every way, from the creative coffee concoctions to the unique and delicious savory and sweet baked goods. Wonderful ambiance, excellent personalized service from the owner/baker, soft music and plenty of comfy seating and light. One of the nicest coffee eateries we've encountered in our many travels! Bravo Tumalo.

Fantastic coffee house. Want great coffee (lattes by trained barista, not coffee shack flunky), wonderful fresh baked goods or just a REALLY neat ambiance in little old Tumalo, this is the place. (By the way, a great area for road biking, and a neat stop if you are doing so)
