Enjoyed our stay. Although it would have been great to know about the live band ahead of time!

We went to the Row last week. We were ignored for 15+ minutes & my partner wanted 2leave. Instead he went to the bar to ask for service & they got our waitress going-she'd passed us several times catering to the obviously rich locals directly next to us. She was rude when asking if we wanted drinks & seeing we had them (from the bar trip asking for service)! My salad was ok but the veggie sides were undressed and our son's sausage flatbread was laden down with so much sausage it was ridiculous (albeit he didn't mind). Wouldn't go there again if the rich locals paid me but I don't think they would care. My husband liked the local brews so he was happy after we finally got service.

good food in the row (bar) or the fine dining part. menu in fine dining is notchanged very often so repeat visits are limited

We had a reservation for Valentines and went early to have a drink at the Row first. While we were at the Row waiting the manager informed us they had a table early and that it was a special menu for Valentines. No mention of this prior to arriving and we assumed there would be selection still available but we fo.und out that it was a set menu, no prices on the menu what so ever. The service was good and food, 4 course was good and timely. Then the bill arrived and found out that it was $ 80 a head and we were shocked that we were not informed of this. Sticker shock to say the least so not sure if we will return. RL

I am torn between one or two stars for The ROW at Tetherow. We recently went there, taking some friends for a casual dinner. The setting with views of the golf course is nice, and the friends love golf, so seemed a good fit. Our dining experience was awful, from food to service. We have been there about 5 times in the past. The last time, in January for a lunch with 4 guests was marginal. The food was good actually, but the service was awful! It took forever to get our food, and then any follow up, and then to get our bill was ridiculously slow. Thinking it was a fluke, we went back on August 3rd on what appeared to be a non-busy evening there. The food took forever to show up, watching tables seated much later than us getting their meals. We figured our waitress had forgotten to turn our order in. And sadly her lack of concern made our experience less enjoyable. When the food finally arrived, it was not good! The BLT sandwich, which I had previously thought was the best in town, was skimpy and burnt. Literally charred bread was the main overwhelming taste. We returned it and did not ask for another, since it had taken sooooo long to get it in the first place. One of our guests had fish & chips, and they were overly breaded and greasy. :-( The only memorable thing left after the experience was how awful it was! Our visitors joked about it during the rest of their stay with us. We will definitely never choose The Row again. They have gone consistently down hill, never have we thought the service was good, and now the food is poor. With soooooo many good restaurants in Bend,Mathis one goes to the bottom of the list. The waitress did remove the BLT from the Bill.

We went for Sunday brunch and were underwhelmed. Nice view, check. Elegant surroundings, check. Service--extremely slow and unfriendly-bordering-on-surly (Cynthia), especially when we pointed out a mistake on the check. Food--I asked for extra greens on my crab bene, as I don't eat much in the way of simple carbs. The kitchen sent out pretty much exactly what would have been served originally, so, no flexibility there, apparently. Presentation was good, flavors good, but again not extremely good. Had the service been better, had it not been very chilly in the dining room, we'd rate this place higher. Oh--and there is no external sign for the Grill as you drive up to the Tetherow lodge. Overall, if you are looking for a great Sunday brunch with this kind of ambiance and food, go to the Oxford.

The Row has so much going for it, great views, nice atmosphere, great selection of brews, attentive and friendly staff. But going there for food lately is just so-so. The burger is typically reliable, just be prepared fries are an extra $2. The selection of lite bites is limited in size and scope. Cheese platter is for a small bite. For all the good at The Row, the food could be spruced up.

We had breakfast while waiting to Tee off. The Crab Benedict was good, but a lot of Crab. I think I would have the regular Benedict next time. My friend had the Breakfast Burrito and really liked it. Service was friendly.

Went on a Thursday night - early after work for drinks and dinner. The view is phenomenal and the dinning area attractive. The waiter was friendly but service and the kitchen was very slow. We enjoyed our drinks and waited..when I noticed my wine glass was dirty with someone else's lipstick, the waiter promptly brought me a fresh drink. Food was ok, but I wouldn't come back for the food. It's the view that makes it worthwhile. This was our first experience and we will be back.

We went for Sunday brunch with a larger group. The food was good but the service was terrible. The waitress seemed annoyed with our group size (although good service would have been generously rewarded), refused to split our checks according to our preferences, and treated our guests terribly by acting annoyed and impatient. A genuine smile would have been nice. We do not recommend this restaurant.

What a nice surprise! It was a grey day outside but inside the Club House Bar & Grill at Tetherow customer service was shining brightly from the moment we entered. Stellar service throughout the meal, creative menu, fair price point, delicious food, interesting wine list and cozy ambiance with great views all resulted in "thumbs up" from us. AMBIANCE: We are normally NOT so much fans of country club dining. We like an "all people are welcome here" vibe and private golf clubs can be the antithesis of that. But when serendipity led us to Tetherow's restaurant last week for a late lunch, we found a very welcoming vibe. We arrived to find a small dining room indoors, flanked by a mid sized gathering room with fireplace on one side and a large outdoor deck on the other. All elegantly casual for design - a nice thing given the big bucks that went into this that it is not a garish place to flaunt the wealth of those who moved it forward. It is also a place that is seamless in the universal design that provides equal access to people of all physical abilities. It beckons everyone in. What is also unique here is the view of the golf course below. Designed, we are told, in Scottish moors style it is quite different in look than a standard golf course. And we understand more difficult to play, but we wouldn't know. We are in the Mark Twain camp: "Golf is a good walk spoiled." Or was it Winston Churchill who is reputed to have said that? No matter. We agree. But I digress... DINING: For lunch we found a lengthy menu focused on soups, salads and sandwiches, many with a unique "new American" little twist. (TIP: For a peek a the current menu, at the main web page choose "Navigate this site". At the drop down menu choose "dining".) We shared a roasted portobello sandwich dressed with pesto and an artichoke heart spread. At $11, it was spendy as sandwiches go (there were lots of menu options in the $10 and under range), but ample size to share. The house Caesar salad that accompanied was really good. Fresh romaine hearts, perfectly crisp croutons, cherry tomatoes and a delicious dressing tossed in just the right amount. To make this even better, our server had the kitchen split the sandwich and salad before service - without us asking - so no need to fumble with an extra plate at the table. Another good thing here, meals are started with slices of ciabatta bread by local artisan bakery Village Baker artfully displayed on a serving plate with some olive oil and balsamic for dipping or sea salt sprinkled butter for spreading. Wine list offered several good quality wines by the glass at price points around $6 - $8. We enjoyed one glass of Willamette Valley produced Pinot Noir and a Mosel region Riesling Kabinett., both food friendly choices that were nice partners for our lunch. Feeling mellow enough to order dessert , we enjoyed the creme brulee with a cracking sugar top and covered right before service with a mix of fresh berries. SERVICE: TOP NOTCH! When we walked in the server greeted us warmly and asked if we'd like to wait a moment while a window table for four was cleared and set for us. Which of course we did want to do...and how nice of her to anticipate and for us not have to ask. Same with the sandwich split. Anticipating customer needs. Little things like that say to the diner that your business is appreciated. No surprise given the server here was Cameron Diaz look alike Heather who once demonstrated the same "5 star plus" service levels at a Bend downtown restaurant. Heather also plays a customer facing management role now for the golf club in dining. Easy to see why she'd be a good fit for that work. DRAWBACK: No happy hour menu. No sparkling wines by the glass. BOTTOM LINE: Definitely going back. Maybe for a cocktail. In particular when the weather warms up and we can sit on the great outdoor deck to do that. Or for dinner as the Oregon wild mushroom filled raviolis or the Steelhead with rhubarb beurre-blanc and grilled spinach are calling our names.

I'm not one to divvy out 5 star reviews, but I have NEVER had a bad experience at Tetherow. The view is spectacular, the ambiance is perfect, whether a sunny afternoon or evening, the staff so helpful and unobtrusive, and the prices very fair. I use it all the time for business meetings with clients. The food is always wonderful. At lunch it is traditional hot sandwich type food, but exceptionally well prepared and presented. They allow my dog outside (always appreciated in Bend). Drinks are always fantastic. For lunch, I highly recommend their Reuben sandwich, and the Fish and Chips are one of my favorite. For dinner, everything is great. For ambiance, fair pricing, great wait staff, and good food, you can't beat the mix they have going at Tetherow. I sometimes forget about them because they are a little out of the way, but drive 7 minutes up the mountain and they'll put a smile on your face. You just feel good after visiting.

Add Tetherow's Grill to your list of exceptional fine dining in Bend -- a list, at best, of a half dozen or fewer! It is one of my favorites: excellent food & wine, fine service, nice ambience and great views. Can be a little noisy, but, hey, it's a club, right? The menu has just been revised for the fall and, regrettably, some old friends retired: the fabulous beet salad and the encrusted halibut. Added are a gorgeous rack of lamb and a wagyu surf (sea scallops) & turf (sirloin), both delightful and expertly prepared & served. For a different fine dining experience try Tetherow!

So we live super close to this place and I had never been so off we went last night with the U's and plan was appy and drink at a bar but this place is more like high end dining that has a bar. we were seated no problem at a dinner table and although we just wanted a drink and a snack treated great. The waiter really knew his drinks and I was impressed. The crowd was older and civil so if you are bringing a loud group maybe not such a good idea. We had a great time and other than the price ( not complaining as everything we got was top shelf) a great location

This is probably the only restaurant I will give 5 stars to because I DIDN'T like my dinner. First of all, the presentation of the food here is gorgeous and creative and interesting to look at. They had a saxophonist playing cool tunes out on the deck. The soft leathery chairs are so comfy to sit in. The bread and butter is mouth watering. I ordered the Clubhouse salad (greens with local berries and chevre), which to me is the perfect salad and it did not disappoint. The problem came with my entree, the New York steak which was a special that evening. I really just didn't like it... The flavor and texture were not up to par. Here's the best part: I didn't say a word about not liking my meal because I've eaten at Tetherow a lot and it's usually great. I just didn't eat that much. The waiter (J.) apparently noticed this and tasted my steak in the kitchen when he removed my plate. He came back to the table a minute later, told me he tasted it, and that my steak was FREE! So nice and unexpected! Here's the best best part: THE DESSERT. OMFG. I tried the Beignet and I really think they sprinkled crack in that light, sweet, PERFECT pastry from heaven. With a caramel dipping sauce and sprinkled with powdered sugar, I'm not sure I've tasted a better dessert in my life. I smiled for hours.

Great spot. I sat at the bar, had a drink and dinner. Staff very nice, food pretty good. Menu looked creative but not weird. Some local favorites on the menu and some great standards. The couple sitting next to me spit a hamburger. They said they were regulars and love the burger, it did look good. I had fish and chips, plenty of food, I was full when I left. I was asked if I wanted a second drink, I passed, the bar keep gave me a free 6 oz local beer that he said he thought I might enjoy. He was right, it was a nice gesture. Nice view, very few of the guests were members of the club, it seems they were locals that like the facility, food etc. I noticed that a table brought their own wine and were not charged a corkage fee. I will go back. Again I sat at the bar but this would be a good spot for a date, part of the place was very quiet with a nice view of the mountains, links golf course and the woods and sunset.
