We were pleasantly surprised by this place. We stopped by late mid week for dinner, had hot and sour soup, rice and general tsao's chicken. It was all very well prepared. I especially appreciated that the chicken was not excessively saucy, as can often be the case. Service was pretty good, serving sizes were large. We will return.

I've read the reviews and yet decided to give it a chance. First thing is Britney's service. She's amazing, very informative and spot-on. Other than the great service, lunch itself disappointed me. The hot & sour soup wasn't good, even after adding soy sauce... The cashew shrimp, it flavor was too heavy, I've mixed it with the steamed rice and it was quite OK Overall, liked the service not so much the food

I usually order the Mongolian Beef and am satisfied with the quality of the food. However, the service is always lacking (been here 10+ times). On our recent visit, our table was ready to order for several minutes before one of the two waitresses got up from eating her own meal to come take our order. Looked like she was in a daze and didn't want to be there, brought the check before we were even done with the meal. Good food, poor service.

This poll is descent. Only chinese food that delivers in the NE part of rown. You do get a lot of food. Good deal. Get the cab puffs. They are pretty addicting.

I can always count on the food to be fresh, hot and prompt. Service is always great. Prices are very reasonable and the plates are piled high! Great place for lunch when you're short on time. Delivery is only $2! They even have a lunch time punch card. I'm a fan!

I met the owner of this place and he assured me it was the best Chinese in town, according to "the source." So I decided to try it out. You have to order $13 worth of food for them to deliver. Whatever it was I had, it wasn't that great. Kind of bland. Meh

I've had two dinners from this place. The first was sweet and sour chicken, and it was just awful. No flavor, not good flavors anyhow. I recently decided to give it a second chance with the orange chicken, which is not fried. I thought maybe their frying process might have been the reason for the weird flavor of the sweet n sour chicken. I was proven wrong, the orange chicken was just as gross. Like, I really was hungry and wanted to eat it, but it was just. so. nasty. Even the eggrolls. There isn't great Chinese food in Bend at all, but this one is the worst of the worst.

My husband and I had lunch there today. It was some of the best chinese food we have had. We had the chicken lo mein, the mandarin chicken, and the General Tso chicken. The egg flower soup was very good. The crab puffs were not the best I've ever had but they were very good. I would definitely recommend this place and will go again when I am in the area.

Best Chinese food in Bend! Everyone is friendly and so helpful, they cater to any dietary restrictions. Food is fresh and flavorful. The owners are awesome and service and delivery are quite fast, I will always continue to go there and will always recommend it!

Overall very good. The meat tastes fresh, healthy, and quality. The vegetables as well. Fried food not very good.

Great choice! Abundant portions, tasty and fresh. Tender meat. We order Chinese takeout once a month or so, but just recently moved to Bend, so this was our first try at Chinese in town. We always get pretty much the same thing - Hot and Sour soup, Mongolian Beef, steamed rice for the youngest boy, and pork or ham fried rice for the oldest boy. All of it was outstanding! Good solid spice/heat level in the first two - yay! The bell peppers in the beef dish were tender crisp, and there was plentiful "goodies" in the soup - tofu, and long stringy stuff - some of which was actually nice and crispy (not just a soup of mush). They were not at all skimpy on the pork in the pork-fried-rice, and my oldest chomped it down with a little of the beef. I actually like that it wasn't stuffed full of veggies (sometimes it has tons of peas and carrots and hardly any pork or egg - not this place). My youngest ate the entire container of steamed rice (believe it or not, he's even picky about his white rice), so I can't say I even tasted it, but I think it was fine. This will be our new go-to place when we get lazy for dinner.

Pretty good food here, second only to Chan's for Chinese food in Bend. Service is friendly enough.

This restaurant is a solid Chinese restaurant. Their food taste great, they are exceptionally fast, which is a huge benefit when you have four kids that were "starving" 5 minutes ago. We have eaten here several times, both dine in and take out; either way we have not been disappointed.

Szechuan is always good. I get the same couple of things every time but I'm never disappointed. Try it out, you might get hooked.

Szechuan is a solid choice for Chinese. And their lunch specials are a great value. For under $6 I don't know of a better value in Bend.

This is based solely on 1 item in my order tonight 7/11/14. It was a p/u order so I know it wasn't in a car for ages... I've been eating here for a very long time, close to 10 years, or more. I go to different places in Bend depending on my item craving. They have, IMO, by far, the BEST Egg Foo Young in Bend. It's Amazing. My 1 star is for the house fried rice. I usually go to Red Dragon for it but tonight (because it's awesome there) I didn't....so sad about that. It was greasy; greasy rice, meat, veg. Blech. I only found one, uno, une! shrimp in the entire carton. I ate less than 1/4 of it and all the grease upset my stomach so bad I just threw it out, a $10 rice dish, wasted. Lame. I've had this happen before, the terrible house fried rice, I thought it was a fluke before and now I'm thinking it's always yucky. Good thing someone else got Egg Foo Young, at my recommendation tonight, they have 5 stars for that plate. Wish I could say the same for the rice. Bummer.

Seriously this was BY FAR the BEST chinese food I've ever had. We had never eatin here before and had no idea what to expect, the reviews aren't the best either (these people must be on crack)... People must be crazy because this food was INSANE! the delivered it fast, hot and fresh, we had orange chicken and sweet n sour pork, with fried rice and chow mein... I can't explain how good it all tasted... everything was home made, even the sweet n sour sauce was divine and you could tell it was home made. I've had TONS of chinese food in southern and northern california my whole life... none compared to this place. The food is made to order and tastes SO fresh, and it was all cooked perfectly. I can't even begin to explain how good the food was. Panda express can't even come close to what we tasted... and it was only about 5 bucks more (total) than panda express would have been, we got it delivered AND got more food than at panda too. I'm still dreaming about this food... this is our go to chinese food from now on.

Food was great ! Way cheap for what you get. And the servers were friendly, helpful, fast and all really hot :D

Must have changed their prep or chef . Food quality and taste has gone down in the last few months!

Get the mother's chicken. It's fantastic! The rest of the food I've tried has been only so-so and fairly greasy.

I had the chow fun noodles with tofu and vegetables, for American style Chinese, this place was pretty good and very affordable, plus they give you enough for two meals. I was impressed with the use of fresh rather than frozen vegetables in my noodles, which were cooked to the right tenderness and had a great texture. On the down side, I had to add quite a bit of sriracha to the noodles to spice them up a bit, and a little soy sauce too. In other words, the flavors were a little too toned down for my palette, but still I would come back. The service was also really good, seems like it is a family owned place.

Best Chinese food we have ever had! Friendly staff, excellent service & quick time in getting our food after ordering. The food was fresh, well prepared, the sauce was amazing & we were stunned to find this little gem by just deciding to have Chinese and use our gps to go to the nearest place to where we were staying. Highly recommended!!!!!!!!!!

Our absolute most favorite place to get chinese food! Been going there ever since I was a little kid, and I will continue to go there and take my children there! Best sweet n sour sauce we've found in town!

We've gotten the pan fried noodles several times to take out. Very good flavor if a bit heavy on the oil. The restaurant itself is pretty dark and looks a bit run down. Not very inviting so I'm glad we got it to go. The food makes up for the decor though. It's definitely worth a try.

Ordered take out today a little spendy for average Chinese, although the ingredients were really fresh. Mongolian beef was really good.

Horrible! I went here based on the previous yelpers reviews. Thanks a lot people! This place blew ass! Like most people who live in this city, I came from California where Chinese food is good. So I'm confused how people could rate this place as good.... It was sick, save yourself and go to Trader Joe's and buy the frozen orange chicken and fried rice because I am about 1,462% sure that it will taste better!

Um, two words: FOOD POISONING A girlfriend had food from Szechuan delivered to my house a few days after I had my second son in January of this year. She ordered us sweet and sour chicken and chicken lo mein, as well as egg rolls and crab puffs. Everything tasted ok, nothing spectacular, and I was grateful for my sweet friend who had dinner sent to us. However, 8 hours later I woke up to excruciating stomach cramps and all of the joys of food poisoning. NOT awesome when you are trying to nurse a week old baby! I will never eat food from Szechuan again.

Lets see, ordered a combo dinner to go. Simple enough. Szechuan Chicken, sweet and sour and pan fried noodles. Also ordered egg rolls. They should call them greasy egg rolls. I don't think the oil had been changed for a bit. Sweet and sour also very greasy. Pan fried noodles nothing more than warm noodles. I don't think the pan was anywhere near the noodles. I'll try it again but no deep fry again, I should have known better than to get fried anything.

This place blew me away. I am surprised to find such good Chinese food in Bend. We were skiing in Bend from California. We wanted to eat Chinese. So, saw Szechuan Chinese Restaurant from the big road. My friends and I went in not expecting too much, since California has really good Chinese food. The place is really cute, lots of redwood. Their Szechuan style was very authentic! We also tried their sesame chicken, which was mouth watering. I would also recommend getting their lowmain. Their noodle is very soft and just cooked with the right seasoning! We ended up going back to Szechuan the next night. We'll make sure to stop by the next time we come back up to Bend.

Eat here for lunch the first time this week. With a limited selection of good quality Chinese restaurants in Bend, this place has just made it to my list of top 2. I ordered the twice cooked pork and it was wonderfully seasoned. The portion was just right for the price. A friend who also went with me had the schezwan beef and it was tasty as well. Just like all asian restaurants in Bend, nothing is spicy enough. All food is made safe for anyone. Even though the twice cooked pork had 2 chili peppers, it was very mild, IMHO. The wait staff was attentive and pleasant. The place was pretty full for a Friday lunch. We had to circle the lot twice to find a spot to park.

came here late and had a good dinner, the seasame chicken was great and the hot and sour soup, delicious. green tea was pretty basic and no low sodium soy kept this place from being a 5. still solid good chinese food for bend, synthia was a great server, attentive and friendly, without bring annoying. thanks for putting up with me. :)

It's the best American style Chinese I have tried in Bend. It's not great but it is safe! I have tried a few of their dishes the only one i would say skip is the beef chow fun. Definitely lacking. They have been consistent in the quality and flavor through a few orders.

My wife is mainland Chinese and thought the hot and sour soup was very good, so I'd take that as a good judgment. Authentic Chinese probably isn't very popular in Central Oregon, so I would assume most of the menu is filled with the common heavily sauced up orange chicken, etc., but I would venture a guess that these guys would do a good job with those items as well. Next time we drop by, we'll stay to eat instead of just getting take out.

First, this place, in reality, does not deserve three stars. It really is a one-and-a-half or, perhaps, a two star place. The spices are muted, the flavours are muted, and the authenticity is simply absent. The Good: The food is cooked perfectly. The Szechuan beef was perfectly tender. The beans were perfectly cooked, as were the other vegetables, with just the right cooked crispness of fresh ingredients. This is Bend, OR where there is no really good authentic ethnic food. If you want pub food, Bend is your place.

Well-prepared, interesting food. Not many places in the Northwest serve Chinese food as good as this. The menu is large and varied. And - the food is quite inexpensive. Eat there! We'll be back ourselves, when we go through Bend.

The absolute best chinese food in all of Central Oregon. Lunch is under $5, and is typically more than one person can eat. I have had everything on the menu, and it is all great.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
