The restaurant is around the corner from us, so it is a convenient place to go and the food is good. In addition, the staff are always friendly and they are conscientious about making sure vegetarian items are truly vegetarian. Not only do they not add fish sauce, but one time we ordered a salad and it came out with shrimp on it. I don't know if it was our mistake ordering the wrong thing or a kitchen error, but either way it didn't matter. They took it back to the kitchen immediately and made us a new salad. They even brought out the one with the shrimp on it to show us that they had really made a new salad!

Just ordered for the first time last night. They delivered really fast and friendly service. I had chicken pad Thai spicy level 4. It was absolutely delicious!!!!!! Absolutely, The Best in Bend! I ordered it again tonight (delivery) for the whole family. We got chicken pad Thai spicy 4 with a side of peanut sauce, orange chicken (kids menu for my 8yr old), yellow curry for my teenager. We will ordered again asap.

In one visit, this became our new favorite place for Thai food in Bend. The quality of the food is at least on-par with Wild Rose downtown, but since Wild Rose is Northern Thai, this is our new favorite for standard Thai food. Everything we got was absolutely fantastic. The wait staff was very nice, and spent some time conversing with several different tables. Overall, I'd have no qualms about recommending Orchid Thai to anyone.

Went to lunch here for the first time last week. I was very pleased everything was just delicious! We had Thai tea, soup, an appetizer and main course all was great. Our server was so sweet and helpful can't wait to go back

Incredible. Some I've the best Thai I've had outside of Thailand. The service was excellent. We ordered whiskey spiked Thai coffee and they were great. Best larb gai in the U.S. Very very impressed. We'll be back. Aroi mak mak!

I really wanted to give this place more than two stars. The waitress was very unfriendly. I ordered a tofu curry. When the meal came, it contained chicken. When I told the wait staff, they offered to replace the meal. The waitress basically told me that I ordered wrong though (and suggested it was my fault). As a vegetarian, I know I did not order wrong. We did not receive an apology for the mix up. The were flies all over the restaurant. As good as my husband's meal was, we probably won't be back.

Absolutely great food every time I come to orchid! The lunch is affordable and plentiful to make it through the rest of the day. A+ service A+ food value

This place is great, and the staff is accommodating. What surprised me was how good the orange chicken was (kids ordered it). So very crispy and tasty. I love curries and the curry here was also good.

Great food and great service. If you like thai food, this is the place to go. The service was unforgettable (in a good way) but it was a little pricey for my liking. I would def recommend.

I love this place for lunch . I'm tried almost everything on the lunch menu and it's all been good. If this restruant was in a more visible location they would be packed..

Service was good but I honestly think i had one of the worst pad see ews I have ever had. I had to ask for more sauce because it was so dry. I accidentally put too much sauce and so it was too salty and sweet after that. But the main issue was that they were using like a thick spaghetti noodle less than a centimeter long.... It was cooked but it was nothing like the thin, wide noodles I have always had when getting pad see ew. The peanut dressing salad was very good though..

place smelled like ass when we walked in, think the hostess may have let one go right before we entered. Anyway was ok the usual low grade beef and fish all sauced up and pulverized till tender and flavorful. But every time the godamned hostess walked by all I could think about was ass. So if you enjoy the smell of ass while dining check out Ass Orchid.

Disappointed in every aspect. The business is for sale on Craigslist, so I'm not sure if that accounts for the surly, slow service and terrible food-- maybe they just don't care anymore? The water tasted like dish soap, the "salad" was packaged iceberg lettuce drowning in hot peanut sauce. The curry was bland and my dining companion's garlic pork was swimming in water. The only thing edible was the (white) rice. We won't be back.

Food was DELICIOUS. My friend and I got the shrimp pad thai and mango sticky rice. Upon ordering, you get your choice of a starter egg flower soup or a salad which consists of spinach leaves and a peanut sauce for a dressing. (People who have peanut allergies, this probably isn't the place for you, as 99% of the items on the menu include peanut oils, curry, sauce etc. Hence leaving you with very limited options.) But a great establishment for those on a gluten free diet. Good price too for the amount we got. I believe their lunch ranges from $5.95-$8.95. Excellent deal! On a scale of 1-5, I give the food a 4, service a 3. The only issue I had with this place, well two things really... We had shrimp tempura delivered to our table, and were confused as we weren't sure if this was a free appetizer kind of like a bread basket. Upon further investigation we realized it was shrimp and knew no restaurant would give us something so expensive for free. Unfortunately my friend had touched it and we alerted our waitress that we had not ordered it. She then told us she was sorry and that it was meant for the other people across from us. Then she picked it up and brought it right over to them. Uhhh? Ew. That's gross. I work at a restaurant myself and realize what a no no that was. Actually that's really just common sense in general.... So yeah a sanitary food handling course would help this place a bit. Also, after we had finished our meal, my waitress ended up charging me an extra $16 for the shrimp tempura that belonged to the other table. Making my bill $46. I went up to the woman, asking for her to void it and asked for a copy of both receipts in case something happened, which it did I had to go to my bank later to get the glitch fixed. I realize every place has it's ups and downs, but come on, there were only 2 groups there. My friend and I, and the group across from us. It's not like she was so incredibly busy, then I would understand the mess up. Anyways, I don't know if I'd try their dinner, but lunch was fine. Also make sure you use cash instead of a credit card like I did. Cute cozy place, great food, okay service, poor attention to detail. Might try again. See for yourself.

This place is really good! Their pad Thai is my favorite in Bend, and that's what I usually get. My husband has tried a few things and he has said they are all really good. They also have delicious thai iced tea. Their prices are good and the people are friendly!

I love Orchid Thai. I moved to Bend a few months ago and have been looking for a good Thai place, and tried most of the places in Bend and was disappointed until Orchid. They are always friendly, always get our order right, and have a lunch punch card for buy 10 get 1 free. Their pad thai and pumpkin curries are fantastic, among other dishes I've had that were all delicious as well. I assume everything on their menu is as deliciously awesome.

I have had the Green Curry 2xs. It is Awesome- if your brave get it level 5 Hot. I also have had the Pho Noodle. Add some Sriracha and it's perfect. Very clean place, very clean food. One of the owners " Lakee" is very nice and fun to chat at while your waiting to get your to go order. Have a beer too! They have good beer on tap.

Pros: - The food is fantastic! This is my favorite thai restaurant in town and the food will bring me back here over and over no matter what. The flavors explode in your mouth and just about knock you over! - The owner is a wonderful lady. She does have some things to learn about running a popular restaurant in America, however she is commited to producing quality food. Cons: - The location is a little hard to find and out of the way. - The server(s) tend to be in the back when you walk in and it might take them a while to figure out your there...I suggest manually ringing the bell on the door. Menu Suggestions: - Tempura and spring rolls for appetizers - Thai Iced Tea - Tom Yam chicken soup is so incredibly good! - Garlic and Pepper Stirfry

This place really needs some work. The salad was all old, wilted lettuce and the pad thai was barely edible. I was very disappointed.

Food is ok but very overpriced. Service was very good though. I would recommend they reduce their prices & do more value menu items. Make up for lower dish prices with alcohol sales & do more marketing to gain more customers. Food was the classic thai style and has potential.

Best Thai food I've had in Bend. The ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are wonderful. Order the soup with the lunch special; it's delicious. Lunch specials are very reasonable, and the amount of food you get is enough for two meals. The ambience is really pleasant, and the service was great. Well worth finding this slightly out-of-the-way location. Try it! You'll like it.

Haven't stayed to dine, but the takeout calamari were excellent, and the entrees similarly good and right-portioned. I'm not really sure how this place works, though. Actually drove away the first time I came here because although the place claimed to be open, there wasn't a soul in sight. Oh - and try the bubble tea. Hit the spot!

horrible people! They got my to go order wrong, they agreed to make a new order and then asked me to bring back the old one. I thought that was strange...only to find out that when I got home after driving to the restaurant a second time they had not given me a full order. When I called and asked they said I had eaten some of it so they only gave me half an order. Total BS, Thai Thai is just as good and much better people.

I'm really surprised at the ratings of this place. I visited Angel Thai after seeing the 4 star rating, but I should've just went to Typhoon instead. You see, I don't care about service or the ambiance of the restaurant. As long as I get my food, & it tastes great, I'm set. (And none of that 'Waiting' movie scene with the nasty spitting & stuff in it... Gross. I don't know why I thought of that) But that wasn't the case for the Angel Thai. Service was fine, & we got our food pretty quick. The environment was nice with pretty decors. But the food,... Well, it just wasn't there. First we ordered the Calamari for appetizers. I don't think the dish was seasoned at all, so all we tasted was the sauce that came on the side of the dish. (We had to use the sauce, or else it would taste like.. well, bland squid with breading) Red curry was probably the worst I've tasted, ever. I'm not saying it was terrible. It was decent, but I've tried a lot of red curries, and it doesn't match up to any of them. It was a bit too runny, & it just wasn't right. We also ordered the Garlic Beef, and asked for it to be spicy. It wasn't spicy, & it tasted like Bulgogi (which is actually on their menu!). If I wanted Bulgogi, I would've ordered it or made some at home. I wanted some Thai beef. I recommend digging your piggy bank a little further and take your date to Typhoon instead.

Overall, very good entrees were had by all three of us. Would be a slightly higher rating, except we had a brand new wait person, who was unfamiliar with the menu, the cocktails, and the english language. Once another wait person stepped in to assist, service got better. Management should not have turned this first wait person loose on clientele without supervision. It was kind of a circus at first. I had a vegan dish of stir fried green beans and various vegetables in a garlic sauce. Delicious. My friend had Mango chicken, that he raved about. My other half had a honey duck dish that quickly escaped the plating. He is pretty particular about how his duck is prepared, and he loved it. Crispy on the outside, and succulent inside. A nice evening, and quite reasonable.

Went for lunch this week. It was good. Good lunch menu, comes with soup, salad, rice- real good. Salad had a kind of strange peanut sauce on it- nothing I've ever had before. Then my friend and I split desert- fried bananas- they were darn tasty! Had to be shared- one person could not have finished. Atmosphere was good- per usual Thai places- a bit off but just dandy. Service was good. Overall a good experience and I will be back.

Enjoyed my Thursday date lunch with my wife here. The place is a bit tucked away but not far from downtown or 3rd St and Revere. Nicely flavored food with real spice (tell them how hot you want it and they will comply). We had a veggie tofu stirfry and tofu pumpkin curry and both were tasty and decent portions. So many asian restaurants in Central Oregon really sweeten up the food or use minimal spice. Angel Thai was more along the lines of what I'd call big city Thai flavor and heat. If you like it spicy you can get your fix here (and you can add more spice with chili paste and pickled jalapenos on top if you want from the condiment caddy). There's a full bar and a couple beers on tap as well as the regular middle of the road wine list available. The staff was friendly and accomodating checking on us a few times and making sure that we had plenty of water and that the food was spicy as requested. They told us they deliver w/in 5 mile radius with a prorated charge depending on how much you order and how far you are (some areas free I think). My only (very minor) complaint was the color of the pad thai. Don't get me wrong as it tasted fine! I just haven't seen this hue of FDA red on pad thai before. We'll definitely be back to try some of the evening entrees or to get some take out. Both the wife and I thought it was tastier than Toomies and a better value. Munchkin loves the noodles so we'll take her and see what she thinks of the pad see ew and pineapple fried rice. Obligatory mother-in-law comment: There is stuff there she could eat like sweet and sour chicken, teriyaki beef, mango chicken and plain white rice with no capsicum (but she'd still complain that something was "too damn spicy" I am sure...maybe the ice water or air).

We tried Angel Thai while visiting Bend. They delivered to our hotel room in about 25 minutes. When we opened up our tofu pad thai we mistook the cooked egg for chicken. We called and said that we couldn't eat chicken and asked them to bring another dish. They agreed and brought the second pad thai. The manager brought the dish and explained that we were looking at egg not chicken but insisted we take the second dish. The pad thai, spring rolls, and mango rice were all excellent. We will try them again.

Yum! I'm from out of town and went with Yelp reviews to find this place. I had the yellow curry lunch special and really enjoyed it. It was $6.95 for soup, salad, rice and the chicken curry. Not bad at all.

Where can you go with kids, a hungry husband and a tired mom that is not going to break the bank but still allow for a few left overs?? Angel Thai has hands down the best Thai food in Central Oregon- with a large consistent menu and DELIVERY they are way ahead of the 'competition!' Rarely do we get to visit the restaurant as we often have them deliver to our doorstep- however we did lastnight and boy are we HAPPY about it! All kids ate all their food and were eagerly awaiting every dish as it was placed on the table. The Thai Ice Tea is out of this world delish and of course you can never go wrong with fried bananas yet here they roll the bananas in shaved coconut to give this amazing texture! Things they could figure out, music or a few more fountains for background noise BUT we LOVED the calm quiet setting!! Also it would be RAD if they offered some type of kiddo "keep busy" item like crayons or puzzles but ....

If you are wanting authentic Thai food in Bend, this is where to go. I have spent months in Thailand and this is the only place in Bend that brings me back to feeling like I am actually eating food in Thailand. I recommend trying different things each time, not the typical Pad Thai and a curry. The green papaya salad is great. The soups are all wonderful. Entrees are good and well sized, actually all the portions are good. And the pricing is very good too. Lunch specials are filing and delicious. Try them out and remember you are there for the food and Thai culture is a little more laid back that the US.

My friend and I stumbled in here after a day of wandering around downtown Bend trying to avoid buying overpriced merchandise but giving in to chocolate covered crickets. We chose this place because the menu seemed pretty standard and the one down the street didn't seem to have what we wanted. Needless to say, this place satisfied our craving! Holy man. We ordered (it's a lot so bear with me) Vegetable Tempura, Veggie Spring Rolls, Wonton Soup, Red Curry, and Tofu with Mixed Vegetables. It was a definite feast and was ABSOLUTELY delicious. The tofu wasn't too cooked to death so I didn't feel like I was being super unhealthy and the wonton soup was amazingggggggg. The veggie tempura was pretty standard but was a solid appetizer. The service was really great! Both waitresses were super nice and they even let my friend buy one of their beer mugs. The atmosphere is really pleasant inside. The prices for dinner were sort of high but the food was delicious so it was worth the splurge! I also had enough for lunch the next day! ULTIMATE WIN! Really delicious food!

This place is a little off the beaten track - it's a great joint for lunch but I'd stay clear for dinner since the prices are a little high. Everything that I have had here has good flavors, and the right about of spice. The ambiance leaves a little to be desired, and the wait staff is a little slow... but overall I think that this is the best Thai lunch place in town. Cheap, good, no waiting to sit - beer and wine list are a little weak, but you can find something worth drinking - which I can't say for all the places in town!

This place left nothing to be desired. I read the reviews here so I thought I needed to try it, since I'm a huge fan of Thai. I'd place the food here at the same level of a cheap chinese restaurant. If you're looking for thai food in Bend, Typhoon is where it's at.

We chose this thai restaurant because of the good reviews of Yelp! Yay for Yelp! It Works! We were driving through Bend on our way home to Richland, WA and we had a special guest with us --- a colleague visiting from Germany who loves Thai and Sushi. So, we decided to take the plunge and try something really new. It just so happened that the day we rolled in, the restaurant was serving Hot Pot for the first time, on a trial basis. Lemme just tell ya that I love Hot Pot but have not had the pleasure since I lived in Silicon Valley in 2008. So, I, of course, dived into the chance to enjoy it again. Our special guest enjoyed a vegetarian dish (sorry, I don't remember the name) and she loved it. My husband and I ordered our own Hot Pot and -- boy! -- were the soup pots huge!! So much broth and I welcomed it! I was a bit bummed that I did not get to enjoy the full Hot Pot experience because there was no hot pot built into the table. The pots came on their own hot plate with meat (choice of chicken, beef, pork or combo) already in it. The waitress said that that's their way; they did not want to serve raw meat and did not use dehydrated meats like traditional hot pot places. The hot pot came with an entire plate of veggies and I remember wanting some of the traditional veggies I had remembered from years before (again, I don't remember those names). HOWEVER, even with some disappointment, I thoroughly loved the hot pot and left full and happy. I enjoyed a great nap in the car as we drove home. As a side note, the decor is great and the server was so friendly. Bathrooms were clean and nice. Also, I usually have the yellow chicken curry and then eat some of my husband's Pad Thai. Looking forward to making this our traditional food stop on our trips to California when we visit our families. I gave 3 star for now and will update when I can try my usual dish next Winter. I even saw the Yelp sticker on the door and felt comforted that they were aware Yelp. I informed the server that we chose the place because of the yelp reviews. She smiled, was happy and said thank you! Cool! Yelp is a special world of connected, diverse people.

I went here for dinner once with a friend. I never did get the chance to go back and try more menu items but my yellow curry was delicious. I've eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants and I definitely recommend here. Yum!

Man, what a bummer. I can say this, the orange chicken was good. However, the panang curry was awful. Unfortunately we ordered the mixed seafood, which apparently means "very overcooked and chewy bits of squid and shrimp." The food arrived at least 5 minutes before the rice, and when you're as hungry as we were, it's pretty hard to just sit there and wait as it gets cold. We ate every bit of the orange chicken and hardly touched the panang. When asked if we'd like a to-go box, we politely said we didn't really care for the dish. Then the cook came out to clear our plates and ask again if we wanted a box. When we said "no thank you" she asked why not. When we explained that the seafood was very chewy and the flavor off, she made a face and left. When we got the bill there was no attempt at any sort of compensation, plus extra charges we weren't informed of (we were charged 4.00 for rice we barely touched, as it came late and we only ate half our meal.) Overall, we left feeling like we got very bad service and food. :(

I had heard good things about this restaurant and we finally tried it. It was not crowded when we arrived, we were seated quickly and that's where the service seemed to have stopped. The young man who sat us asked if we wanted drinks - 2 waters, a soda and a mixed drink. Almost 12 minutes later no drinks and he told us he didn't have the 'server permit' so had to wait for the boss to serve our drink.....the soda? Finally drinks arrived and now it was time to order. Time to order, time to order...finally he came back and we realized it was he and the 'owner' who were doing all the order taking and serving. He took the order and the wait wasn't too bad. The food was fresh and very good. The young man did return to refill our water glasses but never refilled the soda nor did he ask. The 'owner' came over and asked if we wanted dessert and then gave us the check. No one asked how our food was. The place really began to fill up as we left - their waits must have been really long! While I liked the place and will go back - they need more help.

That atmosphere within this restaurant was cool and refreshing. I have been here a few times with my 2yr. old son and it was a little nerve wracking with him banging his silverware on the glass table-tops. My son is older now and my husband and me order before hand then I go pick up our order. The woman who took my order had my iced Thai tea prepared for my ride home and the food was ready to go. My husband and I sat to eat and my coconut milk garlic chicken was freakin' amazing. My husband enjoyed his meal as well. We will definitely recommend Angel Thai Restaurant to our friends.

I lived in Thailand for 5 years, and as far as I'm concerned, this is the only Thai restaurant in Bend that comes close to being authentic. Don't get me wrong, the others have good food, but Angel Thai delivers the flavors I remember and crave.

While the food is fresh and delicious, the service leaves much to be desired. We decided to try Angel Thai last Saturday after viewing their online menu and seeing all of their vegan and vegetarian options. After we sat it took a bit too long for someone to come around and finally take our order. As far as food we had plenty to choose from and ended up getting the pad thai with no egg, and the yellow curry. Both were delicious. We also got two thai iced teas and they agreed to use coconut milk instead of the dairy creamer. After the food was brought, we saw our server maybe once. For the quality of food, I give it 5 stars, service, maybe 3. I would definitely return but probably for lunch or a weeknight instead.
