I dont know why it took me so long to try this place. It's soooooo good. The regular cheesesteak is gooooooo good. Puts "subway" to shame. Service is soo goood and quick- prices are ok. Not the trendiest place downtown but certainly some of the best food.

After a day of Black Butte touring and spe-lunking we were craving some hearty deli sandwiches. Found this sub shop right in downtown. We stopped in on a Sunday around 4pm, it was empty but the person behind the counter was friendly and helpful. He let us know that breads are baked in house, and went over some of their most popular sandwiches. Naturally my bf ordered some meat fest of a sandwich, and I opted for the tuna salad with cheese. We each ordered a half and they were HUGE. And believe me, I can get down on some big portions after a day of outdoor activity. We took them down to Mirror Pond (after picking up some Deschutes brew from a local gas station) and enjoyed them along with the sunset. They were delicious, flavorful, and greasy - like a good ny sub should be. I absolutely loved the bread they were on, soft, chewy but just dense enough to support all the goodness inside. Not too pricey and definitely hit the spot.

Super fast service and big subs, definitely worth trying out! The turkey sub is a great 'light' choice, and of course the cheesesteak is awesome.

I have a fondness for businesses that know what they are, and focus on doing one thing really well instead of trying to be all things to all people. This is just such a business. I'm almost at a loss to describe how delicious the subs here are without resorting to swearing. A lot. There's not much to it: store-made bread, a schmear of mayo, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and those peppers. Oh, those peppers. It's just so effing good, you know? Bronx, New York Special, Wall Street, whatever. They're all good. Sadly, there's not really anything like it in the greater New York City metro area; that'd be a lot more convenient for me these days. I'll settle for making sure I drop in for a sandwich whenever I'm in town.

Best sub in Bend! Can't beat it! If you want a sandwich find NYC Sub!

So I'm actually not in love with these sandwiches, the hot version. I don't know if I'm the only one, but the sandwich I got was like 85% grease 15% bread, soaked in grease. Even the meat was greasy. When I ordered I tried to order the healthiest one on the menu too. I only ate a small portion before swearing off New York subs, for life! Their prices are not exactly a bargain either. I say save your money, and skip the heartburn. It's just not worth it!

I'm giving this place 4 stars, averaged out on a 5 for service and a 3 for my sandwich. The two guys working were awesome. It was my first visit and they guided me through the process. Nice guys, quick service. I got the Italian sandwich and it was just so-so. I was sharing with my 11 year old daughter, so played it safe on my choice. Just not a lot of flavor. My son raves about the meatball sandwich and that's probably the route I should have taken. I'll do that next time. Fairly limited menu, but I'm guessing I could have customized my sando. Clean, good prices, convenient.

The fresh baked bread was good, but nothing to rave about. Everything else was terrible. Very few choices and only 1 cheese selection. I ordered tuna, I was served plain tuna with no mayo! Very few times do I throw food away because it's so bad, my sandwich went in the garbage.

$14 for a large sub? I'll pass, way overpriced. Food is mediocre at best and the owners recently pulled a cute coupon stunt ($5 off if you spend an additional $2.50) Why not just make the coupon 2.50 off? That sort of behavior is not a good representation of Bend.

The bread is amazing. Like, it's actually real. Also, I'm fairly certain this place only hires attractive young men. :P

Spent just one night in Bend and looked for a place for a good cheap meal. Found this place via Yelp and we were very happy. Very friendly staff, delicious subs on fabulous bread. I had the BLT which is not on the menu, but is worth asking for. The bacon was hot off the grill!

Hey, forget about it!!! I'm totally hooked on these subs. Thankfully they have frequent customer card. Are they any good? FORGET ABOUT IT!!!

Incredible subs that I can never get enough of. The bread is fresh and the steaks is made just right. A must eat at every time I go to Bend! An absolute must

I have always been thrilled with the sandwiches here, and my husband and I go about once a month. Every time we sit there shaking our heads over how tasty it is. It's criminal! I also appreciate that they offer discount coupons on the SourcePerks website, where you can get $10 certificates for $5. Plus they have a punchcard where you buy 10 half-subs and the 11th is free. My husband and I split a full Manhattan, and he is satisfied and I can split my half into two servings. That's 3 meals for $14.95 ($9.95 with the SourcePerks cert). That definitely meets my personal criteria for a $5 lunch!

First time here and the girls were so great and the vibe is so good. Great food and great specials. 'll definitely be coming here often! Perfect lunch break stop.

Been there many, many times. Great subs, great service. Lots are choices on the west side for lunch.. But if you're looking for a quick, tasty sub.. Give it a try.

I have only eaten at the one in redmond .They are always polite and have great subs cant go wrong with eating here. Great place

Wow, this sub was amazing! Great taste, cheap prices, and it was quick too. I couldn't ask for more!

So, to start, I love their meatball sandwich sub. There other subs are superior as well, but this sub is by far my favorite and the best I have had anywhere. Great bread, quick service, and quality ingredients. Good for getting a sandwich on the go or for staying in to eat. Great for lunch, though get their before too late or all their meatballs for that particular sub will be gone.

This place has it all, excellent service whether it is the older gentleman working or the young kid they are on exactly the same page as far as service goes! The lady who runs the grill is quick and does a great job every time... The sandwiches are just out of this world delicious! The cheese steak is amazing, finally found a place in Bend who does a great cheese steak and all there sandwiches are on SOFT fresh bread. FYI I avoided going to this place for a long time because my husband and I had tried the same named place on 3rd with so so service and the sandwiches just didn't do it for us. SO glad I gave this location a shot, worlds of difference better... They take pride in a happy customer and it shows in the atmosphere & food quality!!! *Update, I am bummed to report we went back today (Sunday) and the two young guys working were nice but the quality of sandwiches were just not the same as when the lady is working the grill on the week days. The bread was even doughy :/ We had at least half of a portion size of meat for the cheese steak and turkey, my sandwich had one tomatoe! What is going on with the weekends guys? Please fix the difference in quality because now I see where those 2 star ratings are coming from! Lowering my rating from 5 to 4 Stars because we went out of our way to spend $20 on sandwiches and did not receive what we have experienced on the weekdays. Bummer.

Run, don't walk, away from this place. The bread was doughy, under-baked and completely tasteless. I have no idea what the subs were like when this place was over on Bond Street, but the food at the "new" location is appallingly bad. We ordered three different subs - philly cheesesteak, pastrami and turkey - and they were all equally bad.

Looking for a great sandwich shop in Bend seemed like an easy task when I pulled up "Yelp" on my phone and saw all the amazing reviews for the "New York City Sub Shop". Usually you can't go wrong with a 4.5 star rating but I was not impressed by this sub shop at all!! This place was mediocre at best....I have my suspicions that the "daily baked bread" was not really baked that day and the sub itself (the "Park Ave") was just blah. The guy at the register was kind of snobby & the prices really aren't that great for a "sub shop". Considering all the awesome reviews maybe I just selected the wrong sub to try on my first visit & the staff was just upset they had to work on Memorial Day?! Regardless, I wont be paying another visit to the "New York City Sub Shop" any time soon.

The best place to "grab a sandwich" if you're anywhere near downtown Bend. Delicious and fast and the service is great. Price is right too.
(5)Erik H.
I haven't lived in Bend for over 10 years but I visit family once or twice a year and this is a MUST! I crave a "Bronx" all year long...the subs are awesome!
(5)Erin R.
Fast, furious and delicious! A half is huge, fyi
(4)Apollo L.
Oh, damn. This place came out of nowhere as we were walking around cute downtown Bend (which my family avoided at all costs when I was a kid). I saw this place, we jumped inside, and had the best damn sandwiches ever. My cheese sub was grilled. Who does that? Oh, yeah, New Yorkers. The food was amazing. Open one of these shops up in San Francisco, please. Thanks.
