Love this place! The food is delicious and the wifi works great. I ordered the lox on ciabatta bread and they added some greens and it was full of flavor. The quiche here is also delicious and my current favorite.

I like Nancy P's and never think to go there. It's on my beat and path, next to Newport Market and by my children's school. The location is just a little off the track, so I don't notice them. I met a friend for coffee last week (her suggestion) and I thought it was great. I had an almond croissant, buyer yum. Flaky croissant filled with a delightful almond paste. Topped with almonds and powdered sugar. That with a breve latte. Quite a bit of seating inside and a couple of tables outside on the patio. Expresso drinks brought to the table and then you bus your table, fair enough. Every trip to Nancy P's has left me wishing I remembered to go there more often. I'm always one to try a sweet treat before a savory and I have never been disappointed. Their case is filled with all sorts of different items to try, including some tasty looking breakfast sandwiches. Nice counter help, good service.

This was right down the street from where my boyfriends family and I stayed while in Bend. I ordered the peach & blueberry scone which was mostly just blueberry so was a little disappointed about that. My boyfriends mom got the Marion Berry muffin and felt hers was lacking in fruit content as well. The atmosphere and staff were excellent. However had to go with 3 stars just because the food we had was just alright.
(3)Stephen D.
Stelar "biscuity" scones with a very English style. The MarionBerry Scone was very nice, highlighting the berries with a salty sweetness, key being in "not too sweet" Great looking sandwiches and baked goods across the board!
(4)Carisa H.
BEST bakery in town. Awesome customer service, pastries are hand crafted and delicious and this morning I had an egg, bacon and cheese breakfast wrap that was divine!

I had my first Nancy P's experience yesterday morning. To my surprise, it wasn't busy at all at 10 am on a Wednesday. However, then again, it seems that most businesses in Bend aren't very busy before noon on a weekday. ;) I had the veggie quiche, and my toddler had a shortbread cookie. I also got a peanutbutter chocolate bar to-go for my husband. The quiche was delicious--light and fluffy with a not-too-dry crust. I wish there would have been a few more chunks of veggie in there, though--it seemed kinda skimpy on that despite it being called "veggie quiche". My son loved his cookie, although I really doubt that there is a cookie in the world that he wouldn't love! I tried a bite and it was quite yummy. I'd definitely get my own another time. My husband was delighted with the peanutbutter chocolate bar. He snarfed it down in about 15 seconds and wanted to know what else I brought home. Dream on, Piglet! So yeah, what I had was good. However, I don't know why I haven't learned this lesson yet in Bend--Nancy P's does NOT take debit cards, cash or check only. Since nothing in the case has prices on it (pastries or the quiche) I started to sweat when I got to the cash register and was told that they wouldn't take my debit card. I really wanted a Mate, but instead said, "Um, how much are these three items?" Twelve dollars. And I had 12 dollars exactly on me. Soooo, I was able to buy my 3 treats, but no drink for me. :( Yeah, Nancy P's is good, but I don't know if it's THAT good. I mean, $12 for a small slice of quiche and two cookies? I don't know. I felt like I'd been overcharged. I'll probably try Nancy P's again in order to have one of their sandwiches, but I'll definitely be sure to bring plenty of cash next time. There's nothing worse than having no idea of how much your spending and then being surprised with a large bill that you don't have enough cash to cover.

Freshest salad I've had in Bend. Baked, chewy treats! I've heard only great things about breakfast here as well...soon.
(4)Kiki P.
This is my favorite bakery in Bend, and may be one of the best bakeries in Oregon. Every item I've ever had has been perfect, from the croissants to the cupcakes to the banana bread (not too oily!) to the rolls to the everything else. It's very annoying that they don't take cards because I always want to buy about a million dollars worth of baked goods, but I usually at least get the galette (literally to die for. I would literally die for it) and one other thing. The staff are nice, too, and there's room to sit down and enjoy your snack without it being too much of a hang out kind of spot.
(5)Paul N.
Great bakery. On several recent visits we had Apple Gallette, cinnamon rolls, scones, pizza, and a cold sandwich. All were excellent. Especially the Gallette. Great coffee also. Expensive but if you are going to rack up the calories -- make them the best. Staff are uniformly welcoming.
(5)Suzanne M.
My favorite bakery in Bend! Great sandwiches, pastries, soups. Sourdough blueberry and cream cheese pumpkin muffins and cinnamon rolls are my favorites. (They don't take credit card so bring cash.)
(5)A. B.
awesome sandwiches & LOVED the strawberry rhubarb pie!
(4)Mac E.
Perfect place for a bacon pastry in the morning. Also tried the key lime square. The espresso is off the hook and the people working here are super friendly and cute. Most definitely will come back when we cruise thru bend again.
(5)Judy P.
We are visiting our daughter and family and they brought us here for scones, carrot cake and breakfast croissant sandwich! All were EXCELLENT! The croissant was so perfect it melted in your mouth! When we visit again we will go back! YUMMMM
(5)Amie S.
Have always loved this bakery since first moving to Bend years ago. The environment is great, lots of art hanging in the windows and walls. Love their pastries - the bacon egg breakfast pocket, the scones, the quiche, my kids love the carrot cake and cookies!
(5)Carm M.
My favorite spot in Bend! Yummy coffee, quiet setting, and wonderful pastries. Have been to a couple cafe's in the surrounding area, and keep coming back to this place. The bacon and egg croissant is my go to. Gotta get there early before they're all gone!
(5)Carmen D.
New to Bend, this quickly became my favorite spot. I enjoy the coffee and different pastries. Staff is always friendly, and kind. The seating area inside is small and comfortable, and I also love the outdoor seating option as well. My favorite morning time pastry is the bacon and egg croissant. My husband loves the chocolate dipped macaroons. Mmm....
(5)Robert D.
We split a tasty pocket breakfast sandwich and a veggie frittata. Lots of good-looking pastries, too. Not busy at all, when there was s half-hour wait at Chow a block away. Recommended!
(4)Desiree' R.
Cute place! We stopped by on Saturday morning and had a great breakfast of both savory and sweet treats. The service was great and she was very nice and answered our silly questions :)
(5)Brandon G.
Love this place!! Super cozy, friendly and inviting. The smells remind me of my Aunt Terry's house in Brooklyn when I was a kid. Oh and they have Carrot Cupcakes that are amazing!!! I had the Chicken Salad Sand which. Yumm!!!
(5)Cindy W.
My Hubby had the peach cobbler bar.. He loved it. It wasn't overly sweet and it was super tasty.. I had the lemon bar.. ALL I CAN SAY IS YUMMO... TRY ONE.. it was tart and lemony ..

Nancy P's located just off Newport Market Ave nuzzled on the corner of NW 11th and NW Milwaukee Ave. Nancy P's is one of a handful of very quaint breakfast, lunch and dinner restaurants within walking distance of each other. Like Sparrow Bakery from where the majority of the coffee shops in town carry the famous ocean roll of cardamom goodness, Nancy P's is in the same way famous for their scones in town which are available in many of the coffee shops I frequent, which is great when you are hankering for a Nancy P's scone fix while sipping coffee at Thump, Back Porch and Bellatazza. My family and I enjoy Nancy P's for their quiche and breakfast sandwiches and of course their scones. Thank you Nancy P's Cafe and Bakery for being a great part of our community.
(4)Jen D.
The chai is wonderful. The frittata is great. Would love a few more gluten free choices of baked goods. Bur then again...something is better than nothing.

First time in today as we're visiting here in Bend. I've never gone wrong with using the Yelp app and you can't go wrong coming here. Everything looks tasty. The Marionberry scone is fabulous and so is their house specialty coffee-the zebra mocha. The staff is cheery and the digs are cozy. I've discovered a new gem!

I've been a fan of Nancy P's for 9 years - mainly breakfast items such as quiche and pastries - meeting girlfriends there on a regular basis. Truthfully, since the new ownership it's been somewhat disappointing, especially today when I met a friend for lunch instead of breakfast:( The Chicken Gorgonzola sandwich was mostly bread and gorgonzola with wilted red leaf lettuce. Choices of bread are only ciabatta, which will cut your gums and overpowers the sandwich, or another type of white bread. Need a choice of a rustic whole grain bread and decent amount of chicken vs thickly cut bread ... please.
(2)Alisia V.
They don't have standard bacon and egg plates but they have awesome breakfast pastries; ham n cheese croissants, quiche, etc, but they go fast so get there early. they do have sandwiches and salads for lunch which I haven't tried yet, I just can't pass up a good breakfast pastry.
(5)Jane W.
Nice selection of goodies, all fresh. Sandwiches have medley of good flavors. Lots of gluten free options. Tomato soup was excellent, flavor and consistency. Plan to return.
(5)Heather H.
I got a big delicious blueberry scone here.
(5)Cathy H.
I like a yummy pastry and they have them. Went based on other reviews. Was definitely worth it and if I lived in bend I would be a regular.
(5)Rich R.
One of my favorite places. Keylime bar is the best. Also enjoy sitting outside and having a 1/2 sandwich 1/2 salad combo. Highly recommended.

Last time I went in here we were trying to order coffee and the girl acted like we were putting her out or something. She kept kind of rolling her eyes and looking like she had somewhere to be, or that we were doing something wrong for wanting to place an order. After she looked at us blankly and incorrectly repeated our order back to us we said, "You know what, never mind" and turned around and walked out. (To Backporch Brewing.... much better choice even without a food menu.) This place..... has not been that great. Even before this incident, their food has not been very good, and they leave perishable items like quiche sitting on the counter, unrefrigerated or heated..... I don't know how they are not getting in trouble with the health department for that, because that is a seriously very very against food handling regulations. Also it's hot and stuffy and always packed in there. The outdoor seating is not much more pleasant.
(1)Tara G.
You have to go here. That's all that needs to be said. But I'll say more: We got a cake from here for my sons birthday and it was fabulous. I don't even like chocolate cake and I thought it was well worth the calories. Then we went for breakfast and OMG so so so good. Everything that our group ordered - 4 adults and two kids - was off the charts.

Had a really nice lunch here with the family... The Turkey Pesto and Chicken w/Gorgonzola sandwiches and House Salad with Chicken were all tasty. Good coffee and great service from the sweet guy at the counter. The sandwiches are pre-made on their wonderful bread, so you are served very quickly. The downside is that they have been sitting in a refrigerated case just below the cupcakes and brownies, so everything was served cold. I think our Brownie Puddle and Strawberry Cupcake would have been much better if they were served warm or even room temperature. You shouldn't have to struggle to cut a brownie with the word "puddle" in the name. Also, the sandwiches are a bit on the pricey side and don't come with any sides (chips, salad). There isn't a kids' menu, but they can make grilled cheese or PB&J if you ask. And the kids just loved looking at all of the goodies in the display cases. One funny thing... the employees have shirts that say "Quicheologist" on the back. Really cute. But, we didn't see a quiche menu or any quiches on display. Could be that we were there too late in the day or were just oblivious (I'm not ruling this out), but I'll have to come back for breakfast next time. More thorough tasting (and hopefully a fresh warm dessert) shall be required before I spring for the five.

July 2010 and we revise our original review to lower the rating from four stars to three. Three stars is still AOK and Nancy P's is that. A good little local bakery / cafe run and staffed by very nice people. But based on a couple of more visits, it is not in our experience and humble opinions a four star place for product, in particular when held up to review against the bakery / cafe competition, like Sparrow Bakery (and their bread offshoot Bread LaVoy) or Village Baker or even the "new kid" storefront bakery (but not cafe) Baked. Certainly better than bakery items at a grocery bakery shop for example, but not four stars. And the sandwiches can be so disappointing sometimes that you really CAN do better with fresh made sandwiches at a grocery deli, if it's a good one like the one at Newport Avenue Market. That's the bottom line. Read on if you want details of how we got to the rating. Seems only right to provide the grounding for our outcome given we are not as much fans as others posting here. AMBIANCE: Cozy and friendly. Nice high ceiling, old craftsman style space with few wooden tables and chairs inside and a few iron tables outside on a patio that has the added benefit of lovely flowering vines in summer. Seems very busy in the morning and can be busy at lunch, but after lunch hour, it can be dellightfuly mellow with just a handful of people in afternoons. (In particular Sunday between about 1:00 and 3:00 (closing). Ambiance and location are assets for Nancy P's. SERVICE: Service is by order at the counter. Friendly people work here. The staff is always helpful in making recommendations when you're "stumped". FOOD & BEVERAGES: In addition to bakery items that include but are not limited to coffee cakes, croissant, cinammon rolls, cupcakes, brownies, cookies and layer cakes, Nancy P's also bakes bread...duh...from which they make sandwiches. Those run the gamut from cold sandwiches like Chicken Chipotle, BLT, Curried Tuna, Hummus and Black Forest Ham (to name just a few) at about $7 each to grilled sandwiches, like the Bacon, Tomato and Cheese for about $8. The sandwiches are big and easily shareable. (Can't imagine eating a whole sandwich. In particular if you're planning on dessert too). About half a dozen different salads are also available daily, as well as a soup. Pizza (which we have not tried) is Fridays only. The quiche at breakfast are very good. A downside is the sandwiches can be hit and miss. Our "ding" is that they are premade (or at least on our visits that as the only alternative) and not prepared fresh. Some fare better than others in that arrangement. As example a grilled B,T,C (baon, tomato, chesse) sandwich we had recently was great...although since it was made ahead we did not have the option of asking to have the the mayo off before so we scraped it off after grilling. Part of what made this sandwich good was the sourdough bread, just chewy enough and just sour enough. But cold sandwiches, like the tuna, have had the outcome of soggy bread, wilted lettuce and too little seasoning. We've had the same hit and miss experience with the baked goods. Some desserts, like brownies, can be very good, but the pastries seem to just miss the mark. Which may be unfair, but comparing them to Village Baker or Sparrow, pastries are just not the same kind of top end execution. ACCESSIBILITY: For those who need accessible parking, you'll find it as well as a level in entry at Nancy P's at the front of the building, the same side where the outdoor patio is. Once inside, everything is on one level with easy path of travel to tables and bathrooms that are marked with accessibility symbols. More yahoo that this kind of access is seamlessly done to include everyone equally. Good job. UNEXPECTED: Nancy P's offers a few gluten free bakery items. Since we have gluten intolerant members of the family, that is a lovely surprise at a bakery! A TIP: Nancy P's takes cash and checks but no "plastic" for payment.

LOVE. Me and my friend have been on a bakery kick lately, and this is the favorite so far. Sparrow Bakery cannot even compare, I'm afraid. My friend had an almond-covered cinnamon roll (I don't like almonds, but I loved it), and I got a scone. SO very wonderful, and the overall atmosphere in the shop is simply adorable. The girls weren't as friendly as they were at Sparrow, but they were efficient and pleasant. The only reason I knocked it down a star was because of the chai. I'm afraid I'm just not a big fan of Oregon Chai. Nothing will ever compare to Looney Bean in that respect. GO! It's a lovely place in a beautiful location, and you won't regret it.

This is our go-to for lazy Sunday morning breakfasts. We love to get an assortment of pastries from Nancy Ps to bring home--partly because inside gets pretty crowded to sit and stay. Depending on the day and time, the selection can get pretty picked over and not replenished. Overall though, we love this place!
(4)Stephanie S.
Overall a nice experience. The sandwich bread had a nice chewy crust but chicken salad lacked seasoning. Lemon bar ok but had more crust than filling. Owner very nice. Decor fun and inviting. The sandwich was huge for the price of $7.50 but I had a problem paying $4 for tea. The photos posted on yelp helped to pull me in but were not representative of the case when I went. It was much more sparse that day.
(3)Emily T.
A bakery and so much more. You can taste the homemade goodness in everything here. Breads, pastries, sandwiches-- all homemade. Every time I come in there is a delicious scent lingering in the air--fresh baked bread, bacon, sweets. It's hard to resist the shining case of goodies. I love coming in for breakfast and having an egg pocket or a muffin. And I always take something sweet home for later; try the brownie puddle, carrot cupcakes or a delicious bar. It won't disappoint. It is a staple in Bend and usually after one visit, you will become a regular.

We were stopped in Bend on our way from Washington to California and Nancy P's came highly recommended...now we know why! The scones are DELISH and the Peach Cobbler Bar, incredible! The coffee totally hit the spot and the friendly ladies helping us were an unexpected treat! We will absolutely be stopping in again next time we're in the area!
(5)Martha R.
This is hands-down the best bakery in Bend (okay, of the ones that I have been to). The food is incredible! I have never had such a difficult time making a decision on what to eat. The bread topped with egg, cheese, and other goodies is AWESOME. I don't even know what you call those, but I'd love to be able to eat that every morning... alas, I would weight 400lbs. The coffee is good, but nothing really to write home about. The muffins are to die for, and the quiche rocks. Okay, this is getting redundant - everything food-wise is awesome. There's also great people watching, and the location is a little tucked away, but pretty easy to find. If you have not been to this place, the time is NOW. Get over there... Really. Go.
(5)Julie M.
Holy cow - a picture of this place should be next to "bakery" in the dictionary! Sweet and savory delights - too too many to choose from. Heaven!
(5)Brook C.
What a great little cafe/bakery!!! I've been there many times and every time has been a wonderful experience. They have great vegetarian options like the veggie frittata and awesome salads. Their lunches are always delicious with really fresh ingredients. It's a fantastic place for a yummy treat or a healthy lunch. The people who work there are always incredibly friendly and helpful when I can't make my mind up because there are so many good things to choose from. If you haven't been there yet you have to stop by and check it out.
(5)Nicole B.
Such a cute homey bend bakery. I would go all the time if my metabolism would allow it. Everything is good. Sometimes it can be a little inconsistent though, pastries can be overdone and there is never enough fruit in their scones or muffins. Overall very good though.

Came to Nancy P's when I was visiting my mom with my two kids in tow, on her recommendation. We went to Devore's across the street to assemble a picnic, then to Nancy P's for some treats. We grabbed a sampling of what was in the case and headed to the park. They take credit cards. I noticed other reviews said they do not, but they do NOW. It was packed inside, but the line went quickly. Prices were reasonable, especially once you taste the quality. They are obviosuly using top notch ingredients, which is refreshing in today's restaurant and bakery climate. We had a poppyseed cupcake, a carrot cupcake, and a strawberry rhubarb bar. My mom had suggested the cartot cupcake, but this wa different than the one she had talked about. Hers had a coconut cream center, and she thought it was heavenly. The one we got was dense and super moist, with coconut and pineapple baked in and cream cheese frosting on top. I got it thinking it would be the one she got...and I have neve liked this type of carrot cake. So if this is your thing, go for it. It is made with good ingredients and you will be in heaven with their version. It was tasty, just not my speed. Plus, I was probably disappointed it was different than what I was expecting. The strawberry rhubarb square was great. It was real fruit, made with real butter, and had a crumbly streusel on top. Yum. The poppyseed cupcake had a ton of purple frosting piped on top. I try and avoid fake colors, so this was a stretch for me, but I always judge a place on their frosting. Ahem. The cake was so, so good. Perfect, really. Not too moist, not dry. A perfect balance. And the frosting. I had yet to find a bakery that makes the same frosting that I do, sans powdered sugar and not too sweet. This is the one I make!! Impressive. It takes a little more time and is more expensive than the American shortening and powdered sugar frostings, but is SO worth it! My only suggestion is to enjoy this type of cake at room temp. It should not be chilled, since the frosting gets so solidified and the flavors don't shine. Real vanilla extract, no fake stuff. Nice. Now the only critique I can give based on our short, limited experience with Nancy P's is based on observation. If you're following a gluten free diet, they do have options for you. However, be aware if you are really allergic to wheat and highly sensitive...some of the GF treats are on the same trays as wheat based, and/or set below the regular varieties (a crumb contamination risk). I would suggest placing GF stuff on the top shelf, in one designated corner of the showcase, rather than throughout.

Do not use your debit card at this business! I purchased $10 in merchandise & I "had suspicion" the way clerk did the card. Had to ask for receipt she was not going to give me one. When bank statement was reviewed couple of weeks later I was charged $23. Three calls to manager she said would give me gift card for $13 advised I wanted refund. Several weeks have gone by with promises to send refund guess what? No refund has been received next complaint with better business bureau

We arrived at 3:50 because they closed at 4:00, and they were already closed.... I wished we could have tried the next day but we were leaving that afternoon. Sad! O'well, maybe next time!

Hey there, how you doin'? Aren't you just the prettiest little cupcake? Why yes, I think you are! I think I just found food Nirvana, in the form of late lunch and coffee at Nancy P's. First of all, the cupcakes. It's always better to start off with dessert, just to make sure you don't fill up with other food first! Now, which kind would you like? They have several varieties to choose from including carrot, red velvet, and assorted "junior" cupcakes. And then there is the goodness that is the Chocolate Puddle. It's like a oozy, gooey brownie that isn't baked quite through, with chocolate fudge filling. My friend got one and lorded it over us, oh man did it look good. But oh my goodness, I knew I had found my new home away from home when I saw the Grilled Bacon, Tomato and Cheese sandwiches. And in case you were wondering, yes it was just as good as it sounds. Scratch that, it was even better than it sounds. If you like bacon and cheese, and have a few cholesterol points to spare I highly recommend it! Don't forget the Strictly Organic coffee! I wonder if I can buy stock in Nancy P's? Or if they have a frequent buyer and addiction program? Now please excuse me while I sleep off my lovely lunch. Mmmm... happy tummy makes a happy Jen!
(5)Brock K.
This bakery added 20lbs to my daily life! No joke. I don't know if you can get a better sandwich anywhere (chicken gorgonzola) , the chocolate chip cookies are amazing, the breakfast pockets are perfect. Croissants (I know the secret), cinnamon rolls, pies, cakes, the bread pudding with bourbon sauce and if you get lucky the pizza are all AMAZING. Take some time to get down to Nancy P's and order anything, its all great. Oh and don't forget to bring cash, no cards accepted.
(5)Kate G.
I'm surprised I'm the first to review Nancy P's! They're always busy, though the wait is never long and a table always seems to magically open up right when you need it. It can sometimes be more difficult to find a place to park your bike than your car. Everything I've tried here, both sweet and savory, has been excellent. The croissants, a pastry easy to ruin, are particularly fine--my only complaint is that my favorites (almond or ham & cheese) often sell out if I don't get there early enough! In addition to the wide variety of pastries there are soup, salad, and sandwich options, and even some gluten-free offerings for the allergic among us. The coffee is good too, and there are lots of tea choices if you prefer tea. There's pretty much something for everyone, which makes for fantastic people-watching too! Nancy P's is a little hidden, tucked away in a remodeled bungalow a block off Newport Ave. (almost behind Newport Market). You'll know you're in the right place when you see the gorgeous wildflowers out front.
(5)Lynne T.
Their marion berry scones are delicious. Moist and covered with an icing glaze. The pumpkin scone was a disappointment because it was dry and the pumpkin flavor was too subtle to taste. Their nanaimo bars aren't the best pick for breakfast. They are rather sweet and very chocolaty. The cinnamon rolls were huge and looked delicious. A great place to go when you have a sweet tooth or pastry craving!
