Diabetics at Pizza Hut
Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.
Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:
You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.
Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

I felt like this was worth 2.5 stars but I also feel like this is as good as it can get in Bend for a restaurant of this kind. The prices are alright, the service is attentive and friendly, the food isn't all too bad. The salad bar, while not as extensive as I'd like is clean, refilled often, and pretty fresh (no drippy lettuce). The fried chicken and chicken bites were tasty. Damn fried goodness. The veggies were lacking in taste or way overcooked. The ice cream was super sweet but it went well with the cinnamon bun. HOLY SHIT THE CINNAMON BUN! I (shamefully) ate three in one sitting. I think they taste better than Cinnabons. It doesn't have that overly sweet icing, the middle part is the best but the outter part (which can be dried at Cinnabons) has got that crispy sweet carmalized yumminess. 3 STARS!

This was an interesting place to say the least. I like buffets and have pretty low standards so I thought it was ok. My wife did not. But my kids thought it was great (but they also don't care as long as there is pizza). The pizza was nothing special at all. Some of the other food choices on the buffet were not too bad. They will grill a "steak" for you which wasn't the worst piece of meat I've ever eaten. I would probably go back with my kids some time when my wife is out of town.

Yum. We are from out of town and this was our first time. Gabe was GREAT! He showed us the "ropes" and made our experience EXCEPTIONAL! Thank you!!

We love going to Izzy's. It's Bend's best bet for feeding your family well when you're on a budget. We went there for the Mother's Day Brunch special and enjoyed the experience. Our waiter, Kelly, surprised and wowéd our 8 year old son by doing magic tricks for us. He was friendly, enthusiastic and cheerful, and made our meal special. If you have kids, try to get a table in his section! The food is great, the hot foods are kept hot and the salads are fresh and tasty. Good variety of foods to choose from. The dessert bar includes soft serve ice cream, cookies, various cakes and brownies, cinnamon rolls, and my favorite is the pineapple upside down cake. A good value for the money and an above average buffet!

Curiosity got the best of me. After having driven by Izzy's many times, we decided to give it a whirl. It is a buffet restaurant so don't expect something more than what it is. For about $11 for dinner, they have some pretty good food. My daughter liked the pizza, but then she likes just about all pizza. The other choices were mostly very good. I had grilled salmon which was not the best I have ever had, but it was better than some I've had in some higher quality restaurants. Other protein choices included sirloin, kebabs, and several other things. Their grilled mixed vegetables are really good - much better than most vegetable choices in restaurants. The dinners include a salad bar, a pizza bar, entrees, and a dessert bar. The food was generally good, but I find buffets offer too much temptation to overeat. So if you are really hungry or don't mind overeating, this is a reasonable choice.

I really enjoy this place. While it is a "buffet" it's not your typical greasy fare. The food is almost always fresh and has good flavor. The Salad bar is green and colorful and a big selection for your salad. This trip, I had their pulled pork off of the hot bar and it was great, the flavor was really good. I also enjoyed the gravy and stuffing but the biggest favorite of mine is there potatoes, sliced thin and probably deep fried, very tasty. I would highly recommend!
(4)Shelly B.
Disgusting. The buffet is filthy with often cross contaminated food. Jello in the pasta salad and peas in the ranch dressing sort of thing. The pizza is disgusting. The stuff off the grill is high school cafeteria quality. The entire facility is run down, stinky and dirty. To top it all off I found a DEAD BEE in my salad! The staff just brushed it off with, "oh that's weird" and didn't even discount my meal.
(1)Jill F.
Horrible food. Way overpriced for lunch. Only for folks with really hungry kids that will eat anything.
(1)Brian W.
Dis. Gusting. I would not eat here again for free. The booths are grimy, the food is nasty, the whole place just seems filled with sad seniors who inexplicably love buffets, regardless of the quality. Speaking of quality, there is none. I had the pizza buffet. The slices are tiny (one big bite does it), the crust is dried out, the cheese is greasy, the pepperoni is nasty. As for the rest of the food, the "Chinese" breaded chicken was nothing more than a giant hard and tough clump of fried breading with some overcooked chicken buried in the middle. Add a super sweet nasty sauce on top and some wilted green beans, soggy broccoli, and you've got a meal at Izzy's. Service was alright, I guess. They were nice enough, but when our orange juice didn't show up we asked the manager or other waiter, whoever he was. So of course we then ended up with two of them. Uh no, no thank you. My kids liked the ice cream and my mom said the salad bar was the best bet in the place. I'll give you a better bet: try somewhere else. Anywhere would be an improvement. There's a Taco Time across the street, start there. The only good thing about my meal was the water.

Absolutely horrible. Bland. Had to get my own drink. Shocked this place is full. It'll make you wish you were in a Golden Corral.
(1)Holly S.
There is no other crust like this! We don't have Izzy's in SoCal, so it's a once a year treat when we vacation in Bend. Simple, quick, and tasty. Gabriel is our favorite server. We order a custom pizza: garlic pizza + mushrooms + black olives + sausage.... YummmmmO

Our family has made a habit of going to Izzys in Newport , Oregon which is awesome . This Izzys in bend is awful, I could not believe the generic food they had out, nothing was labeled and when I asked about what one item was, the waitress shrugged her shoulders and said " I don't know" the food was cold and the pizza was horrible , they had missing items and the service was horrible, what a disappointment , the food was nothing even close to the quality of other Izzys restaurants
(1)Mark K.
I am not big on buffet's really, but if you have a group they can be a fine option if the food is good. I think Izzy's is one of the best buffets around. It has an open, bright atmosphere and is family friendly. I don't want to go overboard on telling you about their crust, but I could. It is amazing. Izzy's is more than Pizza, they have fresh grilled steak to order, a great salad bar, and the cinnamon rolls, oh the cinnamon rolls! If you have never been, or haven't been for awhile, I suggest giving them a shot. The waiter service handles drinks and plate removal, you go back to the food bars to your hearts content. Enjoy.
(5)Byron Y.
Izzy's is not your average buffet, thankfully. It seems like just about every buffet-type restaurant I have been into in recent years has been more of a 2 star affair. However the mix that Izzys offers is pretty unique. There is the obligatory salad bar, but I am happy to report that it is well-stocked with fresh ingredients - no limp lettuce, etc. (well, maybe in 1 pre-tossed salad, but that is to be expected with such things). There were a couple of soups - I tried the clam chowder - blech - too much starch/potato. The hot buffet had a nice assortment of veggie, meat, and starch dishes. Half were forgettable (bland pasta, mashed potatoes, "broasted" chicken). Others were quite good (pulled pork, honey chicken, cheese bread thing). I didn't try it, but my family said the pizza bar quality was comparable to normal pizza parlors, which is a plus. The "cook to order" grill is what sets Izzys apart. We sampled pulled pork sliders, pork ribs, sirloin steak, fried cod, and Kahlua pork tacos. Most everything was decent, though the portions are small. For example, the steak is probably a 1.5 oz piece, and 1 order of BBQ ribs is actually 1 pork back rib, so order several of each item if you are hungry. You can submit as many order slips as you like. The steak and ribs were the best in my opinion. The dessert bar was only fair. Pudding, brownies, cookies, etc. Forgettable. Guess some people just have to have their sweets. Go early (like 5 or 5:30pm) if during the dinner hour. There was a line out the door by 6pm on a Monday. A good value, pretty good service, and a different experience than your normal buffet.

Good selection of hot food and huge salad bar - all you can eat. Prepare to roll out!

We love to hit up Izzy's at least once or twice when we are in Redmond every year for a week. Upon our first trip there about 3 years ago, we were enamored with the Oregon Marionberry Lemonade!!! So good: whole syrupy marionberries at the bottom of a refreshing glass of lemonade. Alas, all of our trips back there since, they have not had it. That is why they get 4, not five stars. But other than that, I like how they grill your food fresh to order and they have excellent pizza. Definately try the Margerita Pizza! It is not the biggest buffet that I have encountered, but the selection of food and quality makes up for that. The marionberry cobbler is delicious too! I will definately be back!
(4)Heidi C.
this place is a great example of quantity vs. quality. this is a buffet restaurant with not just pizza but fried chicken, pasta, salad, dessert bar etc. The food was mediocre and many of the items were low or gone and had to keep going back til they restocked. they might have been unusually busy. it was almost impossible to get a waitress to get water etc. not a place to go if you just want to go and order and be served and relax.
