Easy review! Food is delicious! Never had anything I regretted there.. Manmosia's are A++ Bloodied are fabulous!! Only downfall, they're prices are kinda high for a "tavern" On that note, portions are large enough, we usually split a meal. And that's perfect Looks like it would we a sweet spot to watch UFC fights, they have couches. Almost a VIP vibe, with a curtain.

This tavern was a very good size. It was divey without the dirty and made for a great sports bar without the douchebags. There were a lot of TVs and they were all playing football. It's also roomy in there, so it's great for large groups. The food was only ok. The best thing on the menu were the poutines, so if you go here, you need to order that. The truffle fries were also REALLY good. Everything else is mediocre at best, but they do give large portions (especially when you order the fries). Very good service by an older gentleman and a good selection of craft beer on tap. They do take credit cards, and there is a full bar.

Quick Review: Lots of great beer on tap, amazing food, lots of TVs, amazing service, BAD COFFEE. Long Review: We were visiting Bend, Oregon from Sacramento, California and decided to come here based off of a recommendation from my cousin who used to live in Bend. We went to this restaurant for breakfast on our way out of town. Hideaway Tavern has a very casual vibe on the inside. The tables where all large wooden tables and they had random beer signs and sports team memorabilia all over the walls. This looked like a great place to watch a game because they have a ton of TVs and about six couches all lined up like a movie theater that have little tables in between for your drinks or food. I ordered a regular coffee and the breakfast burrito that had a name of sausage in the title that I couldn't pronounce. It was surprisingly delicious! I couldn't eat the whole thing because it was HUGE but it was my favorite breakfast meal I had while I was in Bend. Their breakfast potatoes were also super good! I didn't even need ketchup on them! They only reason I am taking off a star is because their coffee was TERRIBLE! I am not a picky coffee person but this coffee just tasted weird... I know I shouldn't expect great coffee from a bar type restaurant like this one but COME ON! Bend has so many amazing little coffee places, maybe they could use some of theirs? I would absolutely go back to this place though! Great recommendation!

First off, they are really busy tonight. I'm guessing unplanned busy. So, that's worth noting. Sit at the bar. I ask for a cocktail menu, don't have one. Fine. She's abrasive, obviously under the gun. Okay, but not my fault. I get a margarita, upgrade to Cuervo Silver. It tastes like a margarita that I've drank half of and then came back to it half hour later. Watered down - which it isn't. Not much flavor. Bummed, I love margaritas. NCAA tournament is going on (I have to stop coming here during the tournament), 4 out of 9 screen are showing NCAA and one of them does have the only PAC 12 game showing. Okay, good. 4 out of 9 is not great, but at least they have the most relevant game showing in the far corner of the bar. We order the onion rings as a starter. Seven of them for $9. All but one fits in my mouth in one bite. I get the steak frites with blue cheese. Steak is tough, really tough, and flavorless. Chimichurri sauce that comes with the steak (which I typically love) is flavorless. Garlic is the prime ingredient in this, I don't taste it at all. Fries have a few dribbles of blue cheese on them. I only eat maybe 20% of the meal. My partner gets the Chuck Norris pizza. I have two slices of that to compensate for the steak. Crust is soggy. I put parmesan and pepper flakes on the pizza and it's not bad. Time to wrap it up. Bartender (who's service has improved) asks if we need to-go containers? I say yes, but for the pizza only. She doesn't ask about my steak and how it was. I don't offer an opinion, figuring they are crazy busy. I should have said something. In the meanwhile I've had on previous visits the grinder sandwich - nothing, turkey pot pie is seemingly a cheese lovers paradise. The food is not great. So........little odd as a sports bar as far as viewing options, not great service and the food was a disappointment.

This place was an exceptional lunch find. Order the blue cheese fries. They are phenomenal. They use Rogue creamery blue cheese, and the fry sauce is very good. Only order the "game changer" bloody Mary as a novelty, because it is a meal in itself. The food is from scratch and is excellent. The atmosphere is sports bar, but well done. We will return.

Great service, good drinks, delicious food. Walked in here on a weeknight around 5:30 and sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and asked us how we were doing right away. She took our drink order shortly and offered to put a specific game on the TV for us. The noise level was not a concern--there was no loud music playing that would hamper conversation, even if it were busy. There were some people with kids hanging out--it's definitely a kid-friendly place. I'm a big fan of good, nothing fancy pub food when i just want to sit and drink, so we ordered the fries and they were delicious. The service remained friendly and prompt the rest of the night and I plan to come here again and again.

Love the breakfast pizza.... and to get a great beer like Grapefruit Sculpin was a great find... Nathan was the best knew his food and is a great mixologist.....i recommend this place to all if you want great food and the best drinks

Five star food! 1 star last call 11:10pm? Who does that? Waitress was great. But really, last call 11:10 on a Friday?

I came here to watch the Oregon vs. UCLA game and after the first quarter our service was terrible. It seemed to us like they sent most of their staff home. Our first waiter left and required us to close all of our tabs. Then our second sever appeared to be waiting on the entire bar and was rarely at our table. To top it all off, once the game was over I asked one of the severs to change the channel, when she got to the right channel I said "we're good!" then she said "holy sh*t" which I would've been cool with if there weren't two kids under 7 at our table. When my girlfriend went to complain to a manager, they told her the "holy sh*t" server was the manager. If true, this leads me to believe John has made a poor choice in leadership. Hopefully he can fix this since my experiences at the Victorian Cafe have always been exceptional. Pros: Excellent food, great beer selection, and fun atmosphere for watching sports. Cons: Very slow or non existent service at times (don't come hungry or thirsty because you may wait awhile). No one in this "sports" bar cares about sports or puts popular games on. You'll usually have to ask. I've been here about 20 times in the past year and base my Pros and Cons on multiple visits.
(2)Kelly U.
Always had such great service here and their food is really good. My only complaint would be that it is a little bit pricey.
(4)Rudy L.
Waited for 15 mins and no service on a Friday night. Overall a bad service experience and I cannot review the drinks or food since we never got a server to come by and take our order.
(2)Brian M.
Heavy pours, fast service, adequate food and tvs for days. Make it a stop for at least a lunch.. Or even breakfast from 8am-1pm. Worth another stop! Kimberly kills it!
(5)Kevin D.
The staff was friendly. The food was ok. The beer you can get anywhere in this town. So the question comes down to why they charge so much? It is rather expensive. A cup of potato soup made with what tasted like instant potatoes costs 7 dollars?! I know Bend is a speedy food town where it is not uncommon to get a basic sandwich for over 10 dollars. But a 6 oz cup of soup for 7 dollars? Really? The set up is nice. Lots of TVs so it would be nice for game day if you can get a spot. I have tried to come for several games and the place is packed long before the game and people just sit without ordering for a long period of time.

Located where Grovers Pub used to be and owned by the same guy as Victorian Café, our first visit to Hideaway was 3.5 star worthy. We were fans of the good food at decent prices and friendly server. Other elements left us less enthusiastic. This venture is a newer one so time may work those out. GOOD Things 1. FRIENDLY SERVICE: The young woman behind the bar was also the only server to take food orders in the restaurant during our lunch time visit. Really congenial, she made us feel immediately welcome and gave the same greeting to the dozen or so folks who followed us in during the hour we were there. 6 stars! 2. AMBIANCE: This IS a sports bar and there are roughly eight televisions, all of good quality, mounted on walls at smart viewing locations throughout the bar. Also, while the tables and chairs look as if it could be a sardine can squeeze if all were occupied, most are at standard height seating which is a big plus. Also, there is a sofa and chairs under one window and a pool table available too. 3. LIBATIONS: Bend is something of "beervanha"and it was interesting to note sixteen or so beers on tap. All are available in growlers if you want to take the party home with you. Hideway also has a full bar, although no specialty cocktail list when we asked. (Didn't ask about a wine list.) The Angry Orchard Hard Cider we ordered to go with lunch was good and as I remember the pint came in under $4 given lunch time falls in the Happy Hour window. 4. MENU & FOOD: The chef has professional kitchen cred having once worked at Bend's continental dining Jackalope Grill. The all day menu is smallish, maybe a couple of dozen options ranging from appetizers to soup to mac n cheese to burgers and sandwiches to salads to pizzas. There are apparently two soups daily, one vegetarian and one not, and two specialty pizzas, the gatherer (vegetarian) and the hunter (carnivore). We lean to vegetarian eating so that was nice to see. A claim to fame here is Poutine, a Canadian in origin french fries and duck gravy concoction some or my Yelp friends fancy, so heads up for them. We had the house made veggie burger ($8) and Marguerite pizza ($12). The veggie burger was very good served on a roll with basil aioli, tomatoes, red onions and romaine lettuce. The pizza crust was thin and chewy, the arrabiata sauce on top was tasty and the mozzarella was housemade as well. We'd order both again. 5. VALUE: Prices are reasonable ranging from about $4 to $16. Lunch for two with leftover pizza to take home for dinner that night and a pint of hard cider clocked in under $25. COULD BE BETTER Things 1. HICCUPS IN GETTING FOOD FROM KITCHEN TO TABLE: Food was inexplicably slow to come out of the kitchen, not just for us but for others, given how few customers were in the restaurant during the hour we visited at lunch service. Plus, our items were not served in "one then two" order we requested, but all at once after a long wait. The aioli was asked for on the side was served on the sandwich. This suggests coordination problems between front of house and kitchen.. 2. "SAY WHAT???": The music was deafeningly loud when we arrived and for some time thereafter before the sound came down a couple of decibels. Having to shout across the table to be heard over the sound system is never a great idea, especially at lunch. On the silver lining side, the music mix was a good one. 3. EQUAL ACCESS: On the plus side, The Hideaway is level in and much of the seating is on that level. On a down note, the accessible (aka ADA) parking fails minimums as the access aisle is on the wrong side per Federal rules and State building code. This means folks who use wheelchair ramp vehicles can't deploy the ramps to get out of the car. Hard to explain the violation in 2012 after recent remodels here when the rules have been the same since 1990. The owner might want to explain it to the guy I met whose legs were severed in Iraq and now uses a wheelchair ramp van. THIS N THAT 1. Blackboard at entry door said Happy Hour from 11:30 - 5:00. Our server said this meant a buck off beers and reduced rates on well drinks 2. Brunch service on Saturday and Sunday only, starts at 9:00 and the menu is unusual with things like breakfast pizzas and burritos and the aforementioned Poutine. So an option to check out, but does not appear to be a pancakes and omelets kind of brunch location 3. The tall sign in front still says "Grovers" so look for that as landmark.
(3)Paige B.
Killer place - good beer, awesome wings, lots of TVs, you can't get much better than that! The best part, though, was our WONDERFUL server Nathan. He was so attentive and nice and friendly. We overtipped him but it was worth it!
(5)Alex W.
One of the best burgers in Bend IMHO, and brunch on the weekend is off the hook, but why switch to lunch at noon? Brunch should be served until 2pm. One pet peeve: the Ardvark hot sauce was obviously watered down - poor form. Otherwise excellent!
(4)Arlene H.
The HIdeaway Burger is wonderful. Freshly ground chuck and brisket is so flavorful you should eat it without any condiments so you can taste the flavor!. Love all the seating choices, from bar to tables to high tops to sofas, you can find a comfortable place to hang out with friends or family. Helpful wait staff!
(4)Amber B.
We like this place. It's a great place to watch the game with the kids, you don't have to fight for a seat, the food is good, and there's lots of room with tables, couches, and pool tables.
(5)Viggo B.
Tried several times, no improvement in the service, particularly the ridiculous wait time for food. Too bad, it's a great concept.... Two stars, one for the generally tasty (but inconsistent) food and one for the superb Bloody Marys.
(2)Laura D.
Service is good, food is okay and WAY overpriced! Only reason we won't be back! Apparently, they think they're at a level of Pronghorn or another upscale resort or something. Too many other good to great food choices at reasonable prices to go in Bend.
(3)Jason B.
I have been here several times. It might be my favorite spot in Bend and here is why: The food is some of the best pub fare around, the beer selection is no joke, the TVs are so well placed you can watch from wherever, they have corn hole, and it is rarely so crowded you can't find a seat.
(5)Scott K.
The food is good and they have a pretty good tap selection but recently the service has really dropped. We just walked out after sitting for more than 15 minutes watching all 3 waiters just talk at the bar. Then the girl watched us walk right past her out the door and didn't say anything. I most likely will not be going back
(2)Vicki O.
Delicious breakfast this morning! This place is a hidden gem. Kimberley was our server and she rocks. Great service, great food!
(5)Michelle S.
Wow! Haven't been here in a LONG time. Loads of memories came flooding back. Upon entering, the waitress from behind the bar waved to me with a wonderful smile and welcomed us. Great service, awesome relaxed vibe and a warm friendly staff. They're even testing out a brand of gf pizza crust....we hope they decide to keep them 'cuz their pizzas sound yummy!
(5)Greg M.
Cool atmosphere and a decent menu all around. All the T.V.s are a plus for any sports games. I just wish they had more bar games in the bar. Foosball and shuffleboard would be awesome, some more pool tables would be great too.
(4)Ashley F.
We have been to the hideaway several times and have always had good service. The food is always excellent and it's a great place to watch games. We love the hideaway!
(5)T G.
have to say i was underwhelmed.. yes, there were t.v's, beers on taps, but the whole picture was way off from what i expected.. it was almost like grovers changed it's name and that was about it
(2)Job A.
Great service, great poutine, tvs everywhere, perfect for watching sunday games!
(5)Brian P.
I have to say the menu is pretty darn good. After being to Victorian Cafe the food is very much on par, which makes sense seeing as its the same owner. I've had pretty good experiences there the couple times i've been, but after today i we wont be returning. Without getting into the exact experience, lets just say we were treated pretty poorly by the majority of the staff. One waitress there was a saving grace , but not enough to make me feel like our business wasnt welcome. Fortunately for us, Brother Johns Downtown has a wicked good brunch, and little known they have the nfl package for sunday games! Where we enjoyed a leisurely brunch with great service! Heading there now to give them their due!
(2)Mrs. H.
Update: Downgraded for breakfast. Kitchen must be different. Food cold. Incorrect plates last two visits. Good thing the drinks were cold. Yum! While this is a tavern, it has great food! We shared a beautiful salad and meaty hand made pizza. Delish! This will be our new standard for bloody mary and breakfast during football season!
(3)Erin Z.
The service was fantastic - even in a tavern type Restaraunt they were right there to take our order. The fries and sauce are SO GOOD! Pizza and salad were great, too. Very upscale for a "hidden" place.
(5)Pete P.
I was pleasantly surprised, not having been here before. Great menu with some unusual, but tasty items. The turkey pot pie was really good. Service was timely and excellent. Now that I've found it, I will be back.
(5)M S A.
I like the look of this place - which is why I was a little disappointed. My drink was straight up lemon juice. Alcohol involved? Not sure. Way to sour to enjoy and my meal was so-so. Lacked taste and offered no motivation for me to finish the other half. Buffalo wings though were good. But I can get those anywhere.
(2)Mike T.
The pizza here was pretty darn good, great local beer and friendly staff, what more can you ask for.
(4)Mike D.
The food was mediocre at best, but it took more than a half hour to get a salad and a burger. Not sure if its a front of the house, or back of the house thing, but it really needs to get fixed. And judging by the other reviews with similar complaints, this wasn't an isolated incident. Tough to say I'll go back unless I start hearing better things about the service.
(2)Ben H.
One waitress doing her best to serve a busy lunch crowd during NCAA tourney. Beers came promptly. Water never arrived. Food took 30 minutes. Nachos were burnt and pulled pork was overcooked. Overall, a poor experience. One and done.
(2)Alisia V.
Mac n cheese was deliscious and the salad we had was really good as well. We were pleasantly surprised. Our server was very attentive without being abtrusive which is a great thing in my book. We were too tired to stay for the music but I think we will go back and check it out.
(3)Ken S.
We are Foodies, and we were looking forward to trying the Hideaway out. Unfortunately there service was so bad we left. The venue looked great. I hope they figure out that they are in the service and entertainment business . We will give them another try, although if it's more of the same they will lose a customer for life...
(1)Fred L.
The Hideaway is better than most sports bars because the food is a big step up from the typical bar menu. It's a warm and inviting place to hang. I've been four or five times now and the food is always excellent. I highly recommend the stromboli, the poutines are awesome ( I especially dig Dave's Poutine (duck gravy!) and the grinders. Pizza's aren't bad but not as good as I expected. The service is excellent and the slow kitchen has improved the past few times I've been. I would agree with other reviews that the exceptionally attractive staff needs to be a little more aware of what is on the television. Just because you have ESPN on doesn't make you a sports bar. Get some sports fans that work there, and you're good to go Hideaway!
(4)Doran B.
Great pizza! Really good sausage. Drinks are cheap. The house ranch had a bit of spice to it, delicious.
(5)Donna V.
had to try Hideaway after the write up in the Go magazine. Read some reviews before I went with 3 friends and was somewhat hesitant as some of the reviews were not that good mainly about service. We found no such issue with service when we were there and the place was packed for a Thurs night.I was amazed at how crowded it was. Very loud and noisey but then it is a sports bar. The only complaint I would have were the portions were small. Food was good though.
(4)Steve S.
My new favorite place to hang out! John and his staff are terrific and attentive, plenty of big screen TV's for football, multiple craft brews on tap, and the food?! Amazing! Meatball grinder, mediterranean breakfast burrito, duck hash...all tremendous. Same quality food as The Victorian Cafe without the wait or the price. Special call out to Kenzie for remembering our name a week after our first time there.
(5)Jan A.
Nice atmosphere, plenty of tvs through out. The menu had more than the usual offerings. Mac n cheese, fondue pizza sticks and many more. We Had burgers and fries. Best fries in town. Burger was a fresh, hand made patty. The flavor was so much better than what you typically get. Had a large selection of beers and our waitress was so friendly. She explained the history of the restaurant and even offered to show us the weekend breakfast menu when we asked about breakfast. Loved the selection, just a little more expensive than your typical bar food, but worth it. We will be back.
(4)M.E. A.
Great food, very fun place, great service......but the kitchen is painfully slow. Fix it and it's my new hangout!
(4)Laurel F.
Oh my gosh. Great array of beer on tap. Wonderful food. What more could you ask for? My prime rib sandwich was moanably good & the pizza was delicious.
