Celebrated our 2 month anniversary with a wonderful lunch here today. I had the bacon wrapped shrimp with veggies special, and it was delicious! The food and drinks are great and fast. The service...well let me say this, everyone there is a regular and warmly greeted and treated. We were sorry to miss seeing Javier (who did NOT move to Seattle BTW lol)...how he remembers so many people's first names is amazing. We loyally only have Mexican food at this restaurant. When ever I have tried others, I always feel they don't hold a candle to El Rodeo. Mucho gusto!

These folks have become family. Always a welcome and a huge smile from everyone. They get to know your kids, always come and see how they are and the food is wonderful. It can get pretty loud on Friday nights because it's a small room, but the food and service are worth it. Best Mexican food this side of Texas. Best we've ever had in Oregon. Been going here for 11 years straight.

I was told about this place from some friends who live in Bend and decided to give it a try. I had the chicken mole which was super, the wife and one of our daughter's had the beef fajita and our other daughter had the veggis fajita. All three thought the food was excellent. They each had a blended Margarita and was not very impressed with the flavor. The staff was great and Javier was one of the best.

Always treat you like family! The food is always fresh, fast and authentic Mexican. The prices are good and the Perfecta Margarita is the best ever. Just know that it's like getting 2.5 margaritas in one, that's why its more expensive than a normal one. Their shrimp enchiladas are the best in the world. Rudy, Javier and all the others have the best customer service skills in Bend!

Coming from a lifetime of having various selections of great Mexican food I can say without hesitancy that this restaurant serves up the best Mexican food in Bend. From our first experience here it was clear that the restaurant is family owned and operated and that they take pride in their food. The owner is always welcoming and regularly greets, seats and serves his guests. He is also very willing to accommodate people with food allergies and enjoys whipping up special off the menu plates for guests to try. The ambiance is nice and the facilities are kept clean. Great for families, birthdays and couples.

Really solid food. Salsa was good...kid portions were very large and the staff was very friendly with the kids. I had the Arroz con Pollo which I thought had a really tastes sauce that the chicken had marinated in... Overall, a good find and a nice restaurant!

So delicious! I got a chicken super burrito and it was oh so yummy! The waiter was very nice and we were seated and fed very quickly. The owner was also very nice and sang along to the music which was very entertaining. They also pour their drinks very strong so you only need one! Will definitely go back if I'm ever in Bend again.

We tried this place on a whim. Thought that the reviews were OK and the pictures looked tasty. It didn't look crowded when we pulled up was were surprised to see it quite packed inside. We were greeted by the nicest man who turned out to be the owner. The salsa was fantastic- hot but fantastic. They roast their peppers. The dinner was served fast and hot. The margaritas were a must have. Would go back when we are back in Bend.

I did not want to go to Downtown Bend since I have been to all the Mexican Restaurants there so we decided to stay local. We walked in and got seated right away our drinks came very quick with great suggestions. I ordered the fajita burrito but the chicken was very dry. My boyfriend ordered the deluxe burrito and it was delicious. I will definitely be back and give them another chance. Good job you guys keep up the great work on the service.

Thank you, Yelp, for guiding me to El Rodeo! What better resource to use when you're out of town? I may have turned my cousin on to a new Mexican restaurant in Bend. They seated 11 of us for lunch in a comfortable booth. Chips and salsa were brought to the table, and I ordered up a bean dip as well. The dip was really good, but I was secretly hoping for something along the lines of what Old Mexico in Santa Rosa serves up. And now that it's been 8 months since i started that review, I'm going to wrap it up by saying that the chicken tortilla soup was outstanding, as was the service. We all enjoyed our food, and next time I'm in Bend, i'll vie for a meal here!

I arrived here on a Tuesday night, and the place was slammed. I asked the hostess for a booth, but she said she didn't have any places for me that weren't very large tables. She suggested I sit in the bar, at one of several flimsy, two person-seat tables. I didn't want that. I ended up just sitting at the bar itself. That worked alright, because the bartender was a very dedicated, quick, hard-pressed man who did his absolute best to pound out as many drinks and orders as he could, as fast as possible. He took my drink order quickly, and then my food order soon thereafter. I ordered the chile Colorado, with a side of cheese and tortillas. The food came out quickly, and was actually quite good. Nothing spectacular. The rice had been cooked in a pot earlier, and kept warm, but the meat seemed freshly done. The tortillas were nice and the cheese was obviously fresh grated. In fact, I'll probably bump this up another star to four stars. After my initial annoyance at the hostess, the service and food were quite good. My seating arrangement not so much. Still, this was a very good Mexican joint right in the heart of Bend. Good deal.

This is our fifth time at this restaurant, our previous four times were STELLAR (we sat at the bar, the bartender was hilarious and attentive). This experience however, was only tarnished due to a rude and hurried waiter. He was both abrupt and very short, rushing us through both our meal and drinks, even hurrying through the bill. Other than this, the restaurant is outstanding! Drinks are always spot on and food is delicious. It's too bad one rude waiter can offset what would otherwise be a pleasant experience.

We were on a vacation last week and a local bartender recommended this restaurant. Being from Huntington Beach we are use to great Mexican food. Well we were so surprised. The food and service was excellent. As soon as we sat down the waitress was right there to take our drink order. We sat in the bar to eat because we like the atmosphere sometimes more in the bar area. Received drinks immediately and took our order and then received our food within 5 min. I had a combo taco and enchilada plate and so delicious. The owner came by to ask how everything was. Such great service and food . Very nice experience would go back again if we are ever in beautiful Bend Oregon again! Thank you for such a nice experience.

I feel like family every time I go to El Rodeo. The owner and staff are wonderful and treat customers with respect and kindness. The food is really good. You'll get plenty to eat and the drinks (try the Perfect Margarita) are excellent. I almost always get the Chicken Chipotle, because it is amazing!, but I'm going to try to branch out someday. We go here a couple of times a month and it is always very good!

As I have mentioned time and time before this is one of the best places in bend or for MX food. Maggie's are great and the salsa does the trick too! Enjoy

There is nothing special here. The food is fine but I've had it 1000 times at other non descript Mexican eateries. This is an enchilada, burritos, taco place with the same beans and rice that you have had elsewhere. If that's what you want, come here. I wasn't wowed nor did I dislike what I ate. It felt a bit like a waste of calories.

The service was outstanding! Even though it was very busy on a Friday night, the food came quickly and the service was very helpful. I was very impressed with the way the entire restaurant ran and they had an extensive menu to choose from. Great experience here.

The food is good but the portions are huge and it doesn't seem very clean. Plus with greasy Mexican food I need more than one napkin. The staff is kind of hard to understand but I enjoyable the authentic feel. plus the salsa is delicious.

El rodeo is delicious and our server , I believe he's the owner, was so nice and welcoming. The service was so quick and the food was delicious. The tamale was a bit dry but my chimichanga was delivous. I love their Mexican rice as well.

El Rodeo is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Bend. The staff there, especially Javier, is extremely friendly and they are always there when you need something. I used to work nearby and go to El Rodeo every Sunday for lunch, and they knew I only had half an hour, so the service was always very quick, even when they were busy. The chips and salsa were always great, and I love the little chip with cinnamon, strawberry and whip cream dessert they always bring for you. Fantastic place that I cannot say enough good things about!

Way overrated. Below average food and overpriced. My wife got food poisoning on the chicken quesadilla which had shredded and mostly dark (cheap) meat. Margarita was like kool aid. Avoid this place unless you want to be disappointed.

Hey, this is really good Mexican food! I had the Asada Burrito on the Lunch menu and it had all the right stuff from the rice, steak, sour cream and guacamole. Iced tea was spiced and good and service was quick and friendly. Place was clean as was restroom. If you like good chips and salsa, you'll like them here! A "Will return" place!

owner was a very nice man, but service was seriously the WORST I THINK I HAVE EVER HAD. The waitress actually accused me of having too much too drink....i had driven nine hours and little sleep. I asked her which tortillas were better... she said I don't know....i replied usually one is better... she asked if I was profiling her////!!!!! I am totally 'Caucasian' yet I know which tortillas are better, and I fry mine up at home..... this is one of only four unbelievable comments she had for me... she also said ' if you can't take it.... whatever.... WOW....I HOPE SHE GETS FIRED. I tipped the bartender for a bad margarita which my sister and I shared and didn't even finish (actually paid an extra $5.75 to try to fix it) and gave $5. To kitchen staff.... she got 10 cents. ahh....yes...when I upgraded from house marg to 'gold' she said what, your sister chooses for you ???!!!! please, this person does nor belong in customer service. Her Name: Natalia.

Food is consistently good, this is my families staple Sunday after church restaurant. The staff is always friendly and a provides great service. The newly renovated bar area provides great seating with plenty of space to watch a game and grab a beverage. If your in the mood for good Mexican food I would recommend you give them a try.

We always sit at the bar so cannot rate the restaurant seating area. Not a fancy location but this place consistently has authentic Mexican food at a great price. Sit at the bar and ask for the Cadillac margarita. One is all you need. Nothing fancy but great food and great service. We always have lunch here when in town. Must go!

Don't get me wrong, the food at El Rodeo is very good but it's the customer service that never ceases to amaze me. Typically we sit with Javier and he has always treated us well. I highly recommend El Rodeo because they treat you like family.

We eat Mexican at least once a week. Be it with our group of friends or just our family. El Rodeo is probably our third choice in town mostly due to their location. We frequent it more for lunch (close to work) than for dinner. We did have a VERY good meal here a couple months ago celebrating a birthday dinner for a dear friend. My wife raved about her chicken chimichanga, stating it was probably the best she's ever had. And with the large group (over 15) the service was outstanding. Reading other Yelp reviews, I agree with many of them. Very good service that is warm, welcoming and attentive. An excellent point was made about immediate seating. In all the times we've been here, I cannot remember an occasion we waited more than a minute. Then once seated, the water, chips and salsa are always soon to follow. Which, when you are hungry, is always a bonus for Mexican. Gotta love those complimentary chips and salsa. Of the 3 Mexican restaurants we frequent on a regular basis, this one, in my opinion, is the least favorite for atmosphere and ambiance. Which is NOT a make or break deal for me. And it's not like this place is a dive. I'm just saying....the other two get a better rating from me in this category. We all have our personal tastes and preferences, this one rates 3rd. Which other two? El Cap Eastside & El Rancho Grande up at Cascade Village Mall. And as I've stated in their reviews, all three of these places offer very similar fare for the same price. Good food. Great service. It's Mexican in Bend. Which brings me to another point. Allow me to vent here: Is it authentic? People who bash on our local Mexican restaurants for not being authentic need to chill out. This is Central Oregon, not Cabo. Not to be racist here, but hello....every one of our local places has Hispanic hosts, waitstaff and cooks. Not a gringo to be found except as patrons. So how much more authentic is that??? Please, no offense intended to anyone except those who bash our town and our family Mexican restaurants....whichever one happens to be your favorite.

What a pleasant surprise. Our new favorite Mexican food in Bend! Excellent food, excellent service, and great for a family gathering. Highly recommend. Oh, and they'll make anything on the menu meatless!

I love the food here! Best Mexican in bend and very affordable! Every time I come here I feel so welcomed, it's a great family environment. The chips, salsa, and water never run our because they have one person assigned to walking around and refilling and checking tables, the space is nice too. You're never crowded in next to strangers and they have a cool indoor garden and fireplace!

Seriously ? Are you Oregon people insane or do you just not know what REAL Mexican food is like ?????? This is the most OVERPRICED AMERICANIZED Mexican food I have ever had. I ordered two chicken tacos a la carte and they came out in taco bell looking hard shells. I sent them back for soft corn tortillas. When they arrived back at the table they consisted of semi dry shredded chicken , Iceburg lettuce, and cheddar cheese. The food is horrendous !!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the most Non Authentic Mexican food I have probably ever had . Highly disappointed. I have eaten Better street tacos for a dollar. I would never eat at this place ever , and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone . If I could give it zero stars, I would!!!!

Absolutely FANTASTIC!! food, service, wait staff and an amazing owner that knows how to run it all perfectly. From the moment you walk into this restaurant, they make you feel immediately at home, just like you're their family, very kid friendly, you'll be greeted with a warm & genuine greeting from their staff, whom can quickly seat you with little to no wait. Even on their busiest nights, the wait is short due to their efficiency. Once seated, they immediately fill your table with the essentials, including a tasty; not to hot, not to sweet, cooked red salsa with fire roasted chiles, an excellent cabbage dish *I like to add salt to mine, in house made corn chips; crunchy, never stale and always warm. There's never a waiter or waitress far away and they attend to your table as if you were royalty, their wait staff just blows me away with their speed & genuine family like friendliness, always keeping your drinks topped off and making sure you have what you need. The food is consistent time and time again, excellent quality in everything and all home made. Serving up some very unique and wonderful flavors in dishes such as, to name a few, Steak Picado; juicy tender steak grilled perfectly over flame, cooked in a mouth watering tomato sauce /w just enough heat from some jalapenos to give it that flavorful zip, to their special Enchiladas Rancheras; bathed in a mouthwatering, flavorful deep red sauce, not being even close to the average Americanized sauce you get elsewhere. I'll also add that these guys know how to cook their meat and they use excellent quality cuts. I have been frequenting this restaurant for years and know everyone by name as they do myself and my family. The owner, Rudy, comes around and visits tables as he's frequently there, it's very clear that he loves food and is proud of what he produces out of his kitchen. His son, daughter & wife also work in the business. I find it to be the best Mexican food in Central Oregon and can assure you that you won't be disappointed.

This restaurant reminds me of a place my family used to go to in Arizona when I was a kid. Tourist town Mexican decor, large booths with vinyl seats and filled with families. The food was decent. I had a combo plate with a cheese enchilada and bean tostada with rice and beans on the side. It was ok. My husband had a carne asada burrito and said that it was "alright". Don't get me wrong, though--he ate the entire thing. My in-laws had a chicken burrito and one of the specialty chicken dishes that I can't for the life of me remember the name of. They said that the specialty dish was really good. They both also had margaritas and seemed to like them. My toddler had a cheese crisp, which is always a winner in his book. Overall, it was a good meal. The place is kid-friendly (as observed by 90% of the tables having children sitting at them) so no one seemed to mind toddler babbling and the occasional tantrum. We got great service with frequent refills on drinks and quick help in cleaning up a mess when my son dumped my beer on the table and into my lap. We'll probably go to El Rodeo again when we want a simple, filling meal with the family. It's by no means a high-brow dining experience, but foots the bill if I want to feel like I'm back in Arizona in the early 80's.

Stop here for lunch one of my many road trips back to San Diego. Nothing extraordinary here. It's your typical "El Torito" mexican food. I did love the chips and salsa.

I've always been a fan of El Rodeo. Much of their food is very typical Mexican fare--think Mazatlan, Rancheros, etc. but for me I judge a place by their veggie burrito. If you can make an awesome veggie burrito, then that's saying a lot since many Mexican places do little to jazz up an item that's probably not very popular. El Rodeo's veggie burrito is one of my favorites and their Steak El Rodeo is also very good, prime rib with a spicy, smoky flavor. Other amazing Veggie burritos can be found at La Rosa and Diegos and even Super Burrito (good bang for your buck, there), and all of these other places are also very good all around. What is good about El Rodeo is that it is in the same genre as Mazatlan and other very average places, but they do have their standouts that keep me coming back. If you order a chimichanga and a cheese enchilada then yeah, you might as well be at any other boring Mexican restaurant found around town.

Customer service was awesome. They were personal and cared if we were comfortable:) the food wasn't sensational but i was good and filling. The chips and salsa will definitely rock your socks right off your feet. ;)

We love this place, the service is always great. I think it is the most consistant Mexican in town. The burritos and tacos etc are good, but where they really shine is on the more specialty type dishes. The Pollo Asado and Carne Asada are great, the Chicken Chipotle is really good and they have the best fajitas in town. Also get the perfect margarita, big enough to share, but you'll want to get your own.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Great place for the family. Love the perfect margarita. Food is great. Atmosphere is awesome. The kids love it. The owner is a blessing.

This place is phenomenal! Been going to this establishment since 2004 and never once bad food or bad experience! Highly recommended for great Mexican food, great service and drinks!

El rodeo is delicious and our server , I believe he's the owner, was so nice and welcoming. The service was so quick and the food was delicious. The tamale was a bit dry but my chimichanga was delivous. I love their Mexican rice as well.

Very much enjoyed Cinco De Mayo at El Rodeo. Based upon another reviewers recommendation I had the Chipolte Chicken. Best dish ever.

By far the best Mexican restaurant anywhere! They treat us like family! I highly recommend it!

Tasty food and good service! A Bend staple for Mexican food!

Our favorite sit down (full service) Mexican restaurant in town! Shrimp enchiladas are my favorite. The fajitas mixtas are verrry good too. The owners are friendly and are always there greeting all of the customers.

owner was a very nice man, but service was seriously the WORST I THINK I HAVE EVER HAD.
