Great pannini's and salads here. Very crowded at lunch; allow extra time. Worth the wait!!

Being from out of town, I was looking for a good place for lunch and to work. This is the spot! The food was great, the service was very helpful and they didn't mind that I set up shop for a few hours. (Well at least I hope they didn't) Ask for recommendations- they are happy to help!

I would shower in their tomato bisque. So bomb... Best salads out too. They only use the Freshest lettuces and veggies. I wish they'd open more locations.

Very rude at the front counter. Please look at the picture I shared to see the culprit. Was my favorite restaurant in town. Won't be returning because of her. Thanks for the let down and rude customer service

I would eat here everyday if I could! My favorite is the Buffalo Chicken Salad and the Chicken Pesto Panini. To die for. A little pricey but well worth it.

Croutons is one of my favorite lunches in town. The chicken pesto panini is amazing, and also their balsamic chicken salad!

Hands down one of the BEST Panini's' & Flatini's around in town! Incredibly delicious, great price, and decent sized portions! The location is awesome, great atmosphere. The whole staff friendly with phenomenal service. First timer, and now a returning costumer! Thank you :)

My husband & I always make sure to stop at Croutons when we're in town or passing through. We've enjoyed everything we've ever had. Today was a California Turkey Panini for me with Chicken Wild Rice soup. Both were excellent. My husband had a BBQ Chicken Flatini and a Pear & Blue Cheese Salad, both of which he also enjoyed very much. We both commented that both the sandwiches and salads are better than some we've gotten lately for twice the price elsewhere. Service is almost always quick and friendly. We REALLY wish there was one of these in our neck of the woods--I would eat there all the time!

Croutons is a fast food salad/sandwich place and perfect for a quick lunch. They have a nice outside sitting area and a good selection of salads and paninis. My favorite salad is the Santa Fe with romaine, apples, gouda, corn-bread croutons (which are to die for) and a spicy ranch dressing. I also enjoy the mixed-berry salad. They offer a 1/2 salad 1/2 sandwich option and soups too. One thing that could be better is to use mixed greens rather than romaine. It makes a healthier salad.

Candied walnuts, blue cheese, salmon, pears and lettuce = heaven. We got ours to go so I don't have anything to say about the ambiance or service. I can only vouch for the food, which as I stated previously, was very delicious and I thought fairly priced .

This place is so yummy and reasonably priced. Under $8 for a giant sandwich or salad. We will most definitely be back! Can't wait to try everything on the menu! Looks delicious :) service.was fast and friendly and one sandwich can make lunch and dinner. I hope the east location is as good cause its closer to home. I think we r gonna go later this week :)

The half salad is HUGE! I love that! I had the broccoli cheese soup. Delicious! The only downside is that they get really busy at lunchtime and its hard to find a plce to sit if you're with more than a few people. One of the best things about the place is that the website will count your calories/fat. Really cool and great for those of us on diets and trying to lose a few pounds.

Croutons wouldn't be a restaurant I'd recommend for foodie tourists trying to get a 'taste' of Bend. In other words, Croutons isn't a landmark restaurant like Deschutes Brewery or Cascade Brewery However, for anyone, especially locals, that wants nothing but a healthy and delicious meal, I'd have to recommend Croutons. The restaurant has a clean atmosphere, but not much style unfortunately; I normally order to go. I understand this choice Croutons has made to not focus on the style of their restaurant and I approve of it; restaurants should focus on the food first, and Croutons obviously wants to keep the price of their food down. However, this shouldn't deter you from Croutons. Customer service is very nice and flexible. I normally go in with a very large order (4-6 salads), and each salad is fairly complex with many substitutions. I normally expect restaurants I frequent to screw up some time or another. However, I have been to Croutons over two dozen times and they have never screwed up my order. I'm extremely impressed. I screw up my order more than they do. The food is delicious! I personally have never tried their Panini or Flatini yet, but another member of my family loves both. The salads have very good portions. However, I strongly recommend that you order large/normal size. Even if you aren't in the mood for a larger salad, I have noticed a disproportional decrease in price when ordering a small salad relative to the decrease in portions. Nevertheless, their salads are amazing, and you won't be disappointed. The bathrooms are above average and very clean for a restaurant of Croutons's price range. Nothing else to really say about that as I've only been into the bathroom once. All in all, even with the slight problems I pointed out with Croutons, I believe that all of them are acceptable even without factoring in how amazing the salads are.

Good place for a casual meal. We got sandwiches and salads for a concert in town. The soup and Paninnis were particularly good. They were also very polite and efficient. We ordered ahead, and they had 14 people's orders ready to go.

Another pretentious and over-rated restaurant in Bend, OR (who woulda guessed?). I have no idea why anyone likes this place. A third grader could have come up with this menu. Imagine a dozen of the most tired salads and throw in half a dozen boring sandwiches and you have their menu. The main problem is that none of it tastes good. Three of us took a bite of each other's sandwiches and we all agreed that they all tasted exactly the same even though we all chose different sandwiches. The Caesar salad even sucked (how does a placed called Croutons screw up such a basic salad?). I will admit that the salad bowls are kinda cute. I'll never come here again.

Really good but sometimes takes a while to bring food out the food I mean come on your a salad, soup, and sandwich restaurant shouldn't take that long. But like I said their really good and healthy for you like most of us Oregonians try and eat healthy so this is the place to go to!! They have the best tomato basil soup I've ever had!!!

The pumpkin lemon grass soup is delicious. I liked it so much I drove straight across the street to Safeway to buy the ingredients to try to copy.

This is a great Croutons! I used to frequent their other locations around San Diego, and the Bend location is much better. The portions are huge, the prices are right, and the food is fresh and healthy. While this is a prime place to pick up a quick lunch or dinner, the outdoor patio is a nice area to sit down and enjoy a meal. There are a ton of different salad options, half of which are vegetarian-friendly. I had the pear & blue cheese salad, and it was fantastic. The dressing was very good as well, light but flavorful. The serving size is enormous, which I appreciate, because you can actually make a meal out of it. Other people I dined with got the sandwiches, which are definitely good sized.

Great combos, half a sandwich and a salad for under $10. The half of the sandwich was huge and it was a generous portion of salad. I am addicted to the granny smith chicken salad (add feta, you won't regret it). They make all of their dressings in house and use good quality ingredients. One of my favorite lunch stops in town.

This place always satisfies my veggie cravings. The salads are delicious! My favorites are the sundance and pear and blue cheese salads. The soups and sandwiches are decent as well. Lunch time tends to be very packed so schedule accordingly. I like to get things to go because the table space is limited.

I found this cafe on Yelp and was looking for a meal under $10 but healthy. I found it at Croutons. I had the Arts Spring Salad, it was perfect. I liked Croutons so much I went back the next day. I got the half sandwich half salad. The sandwich was the turkey-artichoke, the salad Pear-Bleucheese. Highly recommend that. Busy at lunch time.

Realizing this is contrarian view to the others posted here, I say I've had better. Food: 2, Service: 3, Ambiance: 2. I'm not so much a fast food fan and while this concept restaurant isn't drive through fast food, it is still designed to be a mass production salad, soup and sandwich kitchen. With all respect to the folks who cobbled together the concept, I'd say this is about on par with quality at places like Applebee's. And at least at a place like Applebee's you get table service (which you do not here), something other than sardine can seating (which is the case here). Still it is sparkling clean and the counter help is friendly. The Croutons concept was initiated in the San Diego area about ten years ago and is still found only in southernmost California with the exception of this one (franchised) location in Bend. My criticism aside, they're doing something right as the Bend location typically does brisk business. So in fairness to the restaurant this is what it is and it is simply that it is not for me. Maybe that means "it's not you, it's me..." for the failed connection. I made several attempts to join in with Crutons fans but about three years ago decided I wouldn't go again and steered away from it when others suggested it. I'd say, "Croutons? Hmmm. Why don't we go to XXXXX instead?" Until yesterday when it was the lunch destination choice of a friend. I said, "Crutons? I haven't been there in ages.. Sure." Once there,I remembered why this had come off my list of options some time back. Here's the deal. Go to the counter, order from a wall posted list of fifteen or more standard salad options or a handful of grill pressed (panini or flatini) sandwich options or choose from two or three soups posted on a chalkboard. Place your order. They deliver to the table. When salads arrive at the table, my experience has been that the lettuce is always crispy, but the other ingredients, corn, beans, tomatoes, "kraft like" grated or crumbled cheese and dressings are "meh" bland. That's been true no matter what I've ordered from the Santa Fe salad to the Pear and Blue cheese salad to the Mediterranean Salad to yesterday's order of BBQ Chicken (hold the chicken) Salad. Soups (two or three a day I guess) have been equally disappointing. "It's not you, it's me." Prices seem $8 or under no matter what option you choose and portions are huge, even if you order the half/small order, so maybe that explains part of their appeal. And in summer months there is a nice deck outside to sit and take in the weather along with the traffic buzzing by on Century Drive. "It's not you, it's me." For my Yelp friends and others who may be using wheelchairs (or those using strollers for that matter), one of the things you'll almost certainly be frustrated by is that while the restaurant has level in at the door, the seating is so tight (sardine can) that getting from the order counter to a seat or to the outside deck door will likely be near impossible. That's true even if you're trying to walk through and squeeze between the seats when they are occupied to get to a table. The photo I inserted here doesn't do justice to how tight this space is in person. It's just not comfortable as a result. But I realize that doesn't dissuade some diners. "It's not you, it's me." Here's my two bits if you're looking for a more fulfilling "relationship".. If you're comfortable with the format of ordering at the counter and having the food delivered to your table, head over the The Village Baker, not far down Century Drive from Croutons' location, or The East Village (owned by the same folks) on the east side of town. For the same price points you'll have a choice of wonderful salads of super fresh ingredients and top notch housemade dressings, remarkably good sandwiches served on artisan breads, delicious housemade soup and delectable pastries. If you go to the East Village location, you'll find a nicely accessible space too with lots of room to get to seating and also an outside patio. After my most recent experience, I'm firmly back to saying, "Croutons? Hmmm. What don't we go to XXXX instead." Different strokes for different folks. Isn't it great there are so many options and we get to "vote" with our feet and wallets about which one works for us.

We won't be back. Given the obvious salad reference in the name I thought this was a place where I could find some healthy, tasty food. There was nothing healthy about the bountiful amount of mayo in my salad. The menu board read as diced, chicken, cranberries, etc... I didn't realize it would all be held together in clumps with mayo. My husband had the Southwest salad and it came with a hefty helping of what looked like grocery store shredded cheddar over the top. I'm not a fan of these places that make some people think they're eating healthy because lettuce is involved. If you're eating here, look out waistline.

If I wanted to deal with rude teenagers I would have become a high school teacher. The hostess was fine but the waitress was incredibly rude, throwing down my salad and storming off when she didn't hear me say "yes" when she asked if I had ordered the chop salad. It barely had enough dressing on it -- they gave me more dressing and had good iced tea which are the only reasons I gave 3 stars. I noticed a hair in my salad towards the end... Ruined everything.

When our family suggested we visit a soup and salad restaurant I balked because I pictured boring boring boring. Croutons was a wonderful surprise. The service is friendly and helpful. If you have special request for your salad, they don't make a fuss. Soups are outstanding and yummy! Even for those who aren't crazy about veggies will love the variety of tasty salads offered. Meat, chicken, fruit, cheese...whatever...it's your choice! They have two servings sizes, so they can satisfy most anyones appetite. This is definitely on our 'go to' list.

We love Croutons. You know it's awesome when your five year old asks to go all the time to get tomato basil soup. Every soup and salad is awesome.

They used to have a three cheese panini on their menu that was my sole reason for going here. Wish they still had it but I don't even live there anymore so maybe they do and it wouldn't matter either way. Give this place a try, it's worth it.

This is a little gem. Their paninis and bountiful salads are the real draw, but the casual walk-in vibe makes it really accessible. I find it perfect for a meal coming or going to the Mt Bachelor and the Lakes region. Nobody will blink if you come in wearing ski or kayaking clothes.

Known for their salads, but I love their soup and paninis!! Today I had the California Panini, which was delicious and the creamy chicken soup with wild rice. Delicious! Not 5 star because of the uncomfortable chairs and temp.. Its often cold inside.
