Tigard does have a "locals" late night bar. I love coming here when I dont feel like going downtown to have a few drinks, play pool, and maybe meet some people. They pour good drinks, the beer is cold, and the juke box is always playing some tunes. Im not sure about the food here, I've only tried the liquids, but I hear the food isn't bad either. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, plenty of parking, and a pool table. I like the fact that they're open late as well. I recommend this place after 8pm for people in their early 20's to mid 30's that live in the Tigard/Beaverton area.

Employees are nice enough but at 11 a.m why they have the music cranked up so loud in the lounge is beyond me? I brought my elderly grandma there for keno and breakfast & she being hard of hearing and all was put off and annoyed with the loud music. We couldn't take it and left before her keno games were done .

The food is subpar, service is decent but the bar is covered in peanut shells. Will go there but not at my own choice

Go somewhere else for the price you pay here. I've had several meals at this place since I live around the corner, and each one has left--quite literally--a bad taste in my mouth. The quality of meat is so poor that I must question where it is they obtain it from, or what they obtain it from... My most recent foray to this place I purchased a pulled pork sandwich; the meat looked gray, it was mushy, and it didn't much taste like pork. The other meals I've had included a chicken wrap which was mostly filler, a chicken sandwich which also had a weird gray tinge to it and tasted quite strange. I asked to speak with the manager, and specified the general manager, since they are the ones who order the inventory. She promptly came out, and after I gave my spiel she said things like, "that's really strange, most comments are positive!" which I had a hard time believing. I was courteous about my complaint, and praised the server for doing all she could with what she had to work with, but reiterated that it was the GM's shoulders that it fell upon. Bottom line; this place is decent for breakfast, good for peanuts and beer, and little else. I won't get into the service, because sometimes it is good, and others I've waited over ten minutes for a menu and water after being seated. Save your money for something down the road that will be much better spent, and come here for the peanuts and beer.

An entire extra star for providing peanuts and allowing your customers to throw the shells on the floor! I heard an interview about this place on sports radio and the lady on the air sold me, talking about the friendly staff, great food, and good atmosphere. I figured what the hell, lets give this place a try. The drinks were reasonably priced with a nice option, the food was good and the peanuts were free. Booya! thank you Big Red's as the old Arnold saying goes, "i'll be back"

The first couple times I tried this place the Nachos & Fajitas were good, but now it is just inconsistant. I keep coming back hoping it will be a good day, but it's more bad than not. I have tried their Nachos, Chicken Fajitas, Enchaladas, salads, Ribs, Santa Fe Chicken, & even sandwiches & a burger. Everything now is just "Eh". Maybe they need new cooks. Won't be trying anything else or spending any money here anymore.

Fairly expensive lowish quality food. Dined at the restaurant, but heard locals screaming at the football game in the other room. We ordered veggie tacos and chicken fajitas. The Veggie's were overcooked and wet. Limited guac, pico, sour cream and cheese on the side. The chicken fajitas were over cooked, dry, and under seasoned. We thought the prices were a bit hefty for the food we received. Very slow service, even though there were only two other people in the restaurant. Staff seemed to be tired and understaffed. Won't be returning with all the other amazing options nearby.

There are too many options for below average service, food and cheap drinks - just not in our neighborhood. On our latest visit, we sat and waited 9 minutes in the bar, without being acknowledged!! We got up and left!! We haven't been there in a few months, as the quality of the food has gone south. The bar here is typically busy - maybe understaffed? Tonight was slower than normal, so we were a bit surprised at the poor service time. Not to worry, we won't go back and no one will notice/care.

My wife organized a meetup with approximately 18 people with our meetup group "Tualatin Valley Food, Fun, and Happy Hour". Management reserved a table that fit our whole party. When we arrived the manager came over to us, welcomed us, and told us if we need anything to let her know. Our waitress was one of the best I have ever seen. I apologize for not remembering her name even though she remembered every one of our orders without even writing them down, and they were accurate and complete. The food tasted amazing. I heard multiple people saying how great the food tasted for happy hour food. The food showed up quickly and was perfect. The beer they had for happy hour was $3.00 and was an IPA microbrew. Thank you so much for the outstanding service. I highly recommend them even for large groups. I can't say enough good about them, and we will definitely be back. Rocky & Cheryl + our meetup group friends.

We love coming here. The Staff know us by name and know our orders by heart. This is a fun place to relax, eat great affordable food and have a few drinks. I'm glad this bar is right down the road. Even the restaurant side of things has delicious menu items and great service as well.

We had a decent meal but I won't be making a trip to go there again. The brisket was good, a neccesity, the vegies were fresh, and my daughters burger was yummy. If the booths sat higher, the carpet was replaced, the portions larger, and they made their own BBQ sauce I would be a regular. Cowboy up Big Red! Freshen the place.
(3)Joe K.
I lived around Big Red's for many years and became something of a regular. The bar staff is wonderful and attentive. They have Happy Hour all the way from 3-close with some excellent deals. Would recommend!
(5)Monica M.
I come here for the peanuts and the beer, the staff is not very attentive but it's a great local neighborhood bar.
(3)Juli M.
We hadn't been in for breakfast in a while, but stopped by because it is close to where we live and we wanted to grab a breakfast before having to run some errands. We were really disappointed in the service and it took almost 45 minutes to get our food. Probably will not be coming back :(
(2)Kevin F.
Descent food especially with the 3 to close Happy Hour. It is a good value. Service is often great and the reason we go back so often. I only ever sit in the bar side, but the bartenders there really do take good care of us and have taken the time to get to know us.
(5)Sahson D.
I've been going here for years. The bar is good to catch any game and have a few drinks. Can't beat there happy-hour, everyone is friendly and there GM is super cool. Buffalo chicken wraps are where its at!
(4)Kelsie V.
I go here regularly for breakfast. We chose to sit in the lounge area and are usually greeted promptly. The staff has been consistent and sharp. I love their 3.95 breakfast options, but they do offer a full menu as well (be sure to ask for it). Bacon is some of the best in town. Bloody Mary's at $3 - are legit, and in a PINT glass on last visit. I recently saw an advert for Happy Hour Everyday 3p - CLOSE. I look forward to checking that out. This is a nice, no frills option for the suburbs (when choices are usually lacking in SW/Tigard). I have never had a dinner here, but their breakfasts are a tasty value.
(4)Ben A.
Great service from Katie! She makes great drinks and does it with a smile. Definitely should give this little cookie a raise! ;-)
(5)Ryan B.
Been a regular here for a long time. They treat their customers well and have a great atmosphere. The staff make the place. Best place on Scholls to have a beer with some friends.

I used to be a repeat visitor since I'm a complete loser and once lived right across the highway from it before I lost my house. The nobody person who said the phood there is "yummy, yummy, yummy", must have gotten confused by the meal that they purchased at a much finer establishment than this dump! Most likely after they were paid the money to write this. That is, unless this was written by drunken cougarb1tch, the neighborhood bar hag! Okay, I must explain when I gave it 2 stars instead of one. The phood is OK. Especially if you're starving after a visit to the Zoo (since the Zoo has far more hazardous and nasty overpriced food). This place is in such poor shape now since they've changed ownership that they no longer have overhead music, the juke box means that the poor customers have to pay the establishment unless they would like to eat in dead silence. Don't order drinks from the fat stupid brunette, she makes 'em way weak. If you do dare to go when it's raining, be forewarned; The ceiling in the dining hall drips.
(2)Jillian D.
Can't beat their breakfast happy hour deals...and its always fun to throw your peanut shells on the floor. Consistently good margarita's and bloody mary's, and great patio service for the bar. You can't beat their portions and prices, and definitely a 'come as you are' type of place. The jukebox could use some editing, but overall it's a great, low-key neighborhood watering hole.

My dad and I came here for breakfast when he was in town. We weren't looking for anything special--just some fruit or other heart-smart food for him, and eggs and bacon for me. Our server was great. Very friendly, she joked around with us for a bit. That's why, when she said that they had no fruit, or oatmeal, or anything healthy for my dad, we thought she was kidding. I've driven past this place hundreds of times, and was looking forward to finally checking it out. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed enough to come back again. There is a bar, but I haven't been--maybe it's better than the restaurant.

I thought this place was just okay. Their menu consist of breakfast and western style food. The sandwich I ordered was nothing too spectacular. It was actually kind of greasy, which makes sense that when I left, I felt like I gain a few pounds. But the waitress was nice, friendly and very talkative. I did roam around the bar, and made my way thru all of the peanut shells that were on the floor (very messy).

It is to bad when a restaurant down sizes the portions on the menu.. We ate at this restaurant about a month ago and then back last night. The whole menu has changed, a lot of the items taken off and then we ordered a salad and I must say it was great a month ago. When we got home, the salad had shrunk to nothing. We had a couple of drinks and some potatoe skins while waiting for our takeout order. Not bad but still shrunk. New people, need extensive training on how to deal with the public, and also a little older would help. Sorry to say this is a restaurant that caters to the bar crowd and if that is the case it will not last muc longer at this location. Will not be back and will not recommend to our friends.

Three words describe the food - Yummy, Yummy, Yummy! If you like Tex-Mex food, this is the place to go. They have enchilada's, chicken platters, brisket sandwiches, etc etc. ALL GOOD! I have yet to find anything that is remotely not delicious! The bar area is HOPPING. They have pool tables, full service with a smile, slot machines, peanuts that can be shelled and thrown on the ground for that true homey feeling. I highly recommend this place. Service is outstanding. Food is second to none. Good variety. Good sized bar and better sized main seating area for the family types. Great chips n salsa too. Prices are more than fair. Big portions. Can't say enough good about this place.

This peanut bar has a super solid happy hour, decent BBQ, and very friendly bartenders. The locals all know each other pretty much and it's got a hometown bar type of feel. Their cajun chicken strips on the happy hour menu are the bomb, but I don't recommend paying 8 dollars for them. Do not go here to meet women, it's 90% men. Tell you what though, they have great beers, pour stiff drinks, and the bartenders will usually call you 'hon. Worth checking out and they're happy hour lasts till 7pm. Also they have daily drink specials, like Tuesdays it's 2 dollar wells. Belly up and catch a buzz, then walk thru the restaurant and get some mints on the way out!

Worst. Food. Ever. BBQ is awful; chicken was swimming in it and couldn't taste anything else. Service poor; waitress was really nice but only one waitress working so it was difficult to get even a glass of water. We used a buy one, get one coupon and even with that, it wasn't worth it. :-(

You will not find a better breakfast deal during the weekdays. The breakfat specials are dirt cheap (you must buy a drink to order the specials) I go at least once a week and throughly enjoy the breakfast it's quick as long as it's not too busy and the waitress could not be any kinder or harder working I highly recomend this for breakfast meetings and or lunch the place is spotless ( other than the bar which does let you throw heaven forbid peanut shell on the ground but is not dirty by any means) I consider this to be a hidden gem waiting to be discovered by many who will enjoy it.

Sunday must've been a bad day. - Roll the dice Horrible service, order was prepared wrong, and it tasted bad. Chicken looked like it was microwaved. TO be fair though.. a week or so earlier I had great server girl (with a friendly smile unlike this sunday night) and the sandwich i ordered was a bit more edible.. one of the better CLUB sandwiches I've ever ordered.
(2)Roxie G.
Not my cup of tea. But the staff is awesome!
(3)Mark S.
Always looking for a good place to eat so we need to stopped in and checked it out the other day for breakfast/lunch. First impression, under staffed, bland food and it was cold too. Looks like they make more money on the bar side. Thanks but we won't be back.

Terrible place ....!!!! Service non existent crap food. Terrible. Run!!!

I understand this is bar food, but ew. How is it that I order a turkey bacon lettuce tomato BLTA whatever and I get it and everything that is on the plate has a different flavor than it should. Plus, you definitely get what you pay for here. Everything on the plate was cheap quality. For example: Bread--tasted like doughy, flour-y mush and pretty much fell apart upon impact with the tomatoes, lettuce, and the movement from plate to mouth. Turkey--processed and pushed together. Not a big deal considering the place IS a bar with bar food. I was expecting it. The mayonnaise, well, I am not sure what it tasted like, but it did not have a good taste at all. Maybe it was going bad? Sat out too long? I don't know. It tasted moldy or something. *shudders* French Fries--tasted like fish. Obviously the same oil used for both. They were disgusting and undercooked at that. Surprising since they were totally infused with the taste of fish. That obviously got cooked in. Bacon--tasted like weed smells. So I hear anyway. ;) So I've established the fact that one does not eat a BLTA. The people I was with both had their breakfast. While one of them said his eggs tasted like celery (we have a bit of a theme here), he said his breakfast wasn't bad. Plus the atmosphere seemed fun and the staff was friendly so you can't really begrudge a place too bad for that. If it wasn't for the food, I'd definitely have given the place three stars. I'd like to say that I'd go again and order something different... but no. Stick to the drinking and the pool. I wouldn't even suggest ordering french fries.

Honestly, Big Red's is totally what you make it. We are talking about a bar, with bar food. This one with a Western twist. Overall the food is good. Happy hour definitely has some good deals. Burger and fries for $3.50. Aside from that, the regular menu consists or appetizers (nachos, chicken strips, etc). Stay away from the nachos...they are soggy and generally just not good. Entrees consist of Fajitas, enchiladas, you get the drift. Of course there are the sammies and burgers. Overall the food gets the job done. What makes this place fun is the vibe, the drinks (generously poured), and the awesome servers and bartenders. Plus there is a jukebox, which is always ready to be raided as well as pool tables. Great place to hang out and have fun!

We have been here several times, but on this particular visit, we didn't have any kids. We sat in the bar, which is lively and low-level noisy. Peanut shells are all over the floor and crunch satisfyingly under my flip-flops. We found a seat and waited just a few minutes for our server who was very pleasant and remembered every tiny detail of our order. We ordered off the happy hour menu, and expected happy hour serving sizes. That's not what we got. My wife's burger and fries flowed over her plate, and my chicken fingers and waffle fries filled me up before I had a chance to tackle the last chicken finger. And it was delicious! You can have a lot of mediocre food for a low price and it's an okay deal. When you get great food, and a lot of it, for a steal, then you my friend, have won the night. The staff is always friendly and attentive. I would say if you're in a hurry, you should probably sit in the family dining area. The service initially is a little faster on that side, but whatever lack of speed you may experience in the bar is MORE than made up for by the quality of service you'll receive.
(5)Cesar D.
Good local breakfast place. Great service. Good portion size kid friendly. They have a huge lounge area with many tvs for sports. Walking distance from home.
(4)Howard H.
I tried this place for breakfast, ordering an omelette without cheese and rye toast dry. The omelette arrived with cheese and the waitress was very apologetic and took it back. She was great, by the kitchen really blew it. Obviously while they redid the omelette, they put the plate with the toast and hash browns into the salamander to keep them warm. All that did was really toughen the hash browns, totally dried out the toast and make the plate untouchably red hot. After a while, the hash browns were sticking to the plate. A pretty painful breakfast experience. So - good waitress, clueless kitchen, and the knowledge that there are MUCH better local alternatives for breakfast in this area.
(2)Trent M.
Pretty casual dining. We would definitely come back on occasion. I got the bronco burger and the wife got the chicken fried steak. I would prefer her meal more, but the enchiladas and nachos looked really good. I'd definitely try one of those next time!
(3)Brian M.
Good stiff drinks for after work. Adequate bar food. The extra star is because I'm in love with one of the bartenders who is gorgeous.
