If I had seen the other reviews I wouldn't have even attempted to eat here. As soon as we walked in I wanted to run out, but I awkwardly locked eyes with the guy at the counter, and felt there was no going back. The food didn't taste horrible, but it was definitely pretty sketchy. The veggies had a weird taste and the chicken wasn't hot. Couldn't get through all the food and am glad I didn't.

Far from the best teriyaki. My beef and chicken were over cooked and swimming in overly saltly "teriyaki" sauce that was more than likely poured straight out of a kikoman bottle. Not recommended. Probably wont be back unless i want a salt overdose.

The teriyaki here is good but definitely not the BEST. I always get the chicken and beef teriyaki plate with white rice. Between my boyfriend and I, our dinner comes out to about $16 not to bad. I would give this place a higher rating if their staff was actually pleasant. There's a teenage chick that does the orders a lot of the time and has such an attitude. We always order to go. The wait isn't very long which is nice because it's always packed here and kids everywhere.

If you can find nastier teriyaki anywhere in the world it would be an accomplishment. The "meat" was clearly boiled then lightly touched on a grill to make it look teriyaki like. Sauce on the beef was rancid and slimey, chicken rough and chewy. Veggies had too much black pepper. I kept having to spit out grissly pieces of meat. Disgusting. Shut this place down.

Cleanliness: The bathroom looked like a disaster hit it. Toilet paper and paper towels on the floor along two walls and on the sink. Only two of the four light bulbs were working above the sink, the only source of light, so it was very dim. I'm guessing that's intentional so you don't notice the dirty walls and floor. I made the mistake of glancing up at the ceiling and there are mysterious white globs and bits of things stuck up there. Luckily nothing fell on me. Soap dispenser was empty and the paper towel dispenser requires you to turn the little knob on the side. Yuck. The dining area carpet was stained and dirty. I'd hate to see what the kitchen looks like. Service: Guy behind the counter was very friendly. They seemed to have a lot of people in the kitchen and they weren't very busy so you'd think they could assign someone to cleaning duty. Food: My friends said the udon soup and beef teriyaki were okay. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken/shrimp combo. There was nothing remotely asian in the flavor. It tasted like Diablo Pollo/Camarones with some peanuts thrown in. Not bad, just not anything remotely resembling kung pao.

It makes me quite hesitant when I didn't see any Asians in the kitchen or at counter. It's like running a Chinese restaurant without any Asian (let alone Chinese) staff. The fluorescent signage featuring their menu was dated. The colors in the semi-glowing sign looked very faded, clearly many years old. The clerk at the counter did not want to carry a conversation at all; just wanted to take my order. The opted for the lunch special - teriyaki chicken, sweet & sour chicken, with a side of white rice and vegetables, and a fountain drink for $7.25. The teriyaki chicken tasted mediocre alongside with the white rice. It was simply average, not terrible but far from being uniquely favored or amazing. The sweet & sour chicken was too crunchy and flavorless, while the accompanying sweet & sour sauce was bland. I didn't touch the mixed vegetables are was it far from appeasing. I was hungry for lunch, and it satisfied that appetite. However, I don't plan on returning here anytime soon. I understand Best Teriyaki is a franchise and quality varies by location - this one is on the bottom of the list.

Chicken was too hard. Took 15 minutes for fried rice, yakisoba and chicken teriyaki. Would I go back? Yes because it is relatively cheap and they give a lot. It's just one of those places where you love to hate but you eat it because it is close, cheap and filling. My confessions.

At least the food came out fast, both times.

Tried this spot at lunch today. With a name like "BEST" you would think the signature namesake teriyaki would be great. Sadly, I was unimpressed. I could be biased growing up in Hawaii and having all kinds of great teriyaki. But I'm sorry, it's not that good. Plenty of seating, the place is clean. Service was fast, and you can find a couple of things kids may eat. The prices are a bit high for what it is in my opinion. It's wasn't bad, but it also wasn't good. I would choose Panda Express over this place next time. Sorry guys, it just wasn't for me. :(

I had a combo plate so was able to try teriyaki chicken, deep fried pork and shrimp, cabbage and rice. All very disappointing. chicken dry and not marinated through. Breading was tasteless and doughy. I'm wondering how you mess up rice. Again tasteless and uninspiring. Cabbage over cooked and bland. I wasnt even able to enjoy the teriyaki sauce. Should be named worst teriyaki or at best, mediocre. Go elsewhere.

The food was hot and fresh, but not something I'd go back for. The menu display on the wall was so washed out it was hard to see what was being offered. The staff were pleasant and the restaurant seemed clean. The orange chicken was breaded within an inch of it's life and that was about all I could taste of it. The "vegetables" were cabbage and carrot, shredded and stir fried in something that turned the whole concoction yellow.

I hate writing negative reviews. However, this place was seriously a disaster. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl. It had some chicken, a large amount of slightly cooked cabbage and white rice. The chicken was mostly chewy, the flavor of the teriyaki didn't make up for that. I am not a fan of cabbage, though I do occasionally eat it when prepared well, but this was just wilted and tasted mostly of sesame oil.

I would give this place negative stars, if possible. Kinda ironic, but I walked out of this place saying, "It should be called Worst Teriyaki." If you're tempted for teriyaki and you're about to walk through these doors....just say no.

This place is a disaster. There staff is soooo rude. Will never go back again. Food is not good. Never have seen such a dirtier resturant.

Large portion of yakisoba, unfortunately it's not very good so it just ended up being a large portion of leftover going in the trash. Chicken was way overcooked, tough & stringy, sauce was too sweet, shredded carrots were stuck together in clumps (I don't even know how they did that) That was my first & last visit.

If ever at a point in time I wondered what a mixture of bong water and sewage tasted like, I would have learned by eating here. I'm new to the whole "teriyaki" restaurant thing and for some reason I decided this would be a good place to start. Well now I can say I know what not to eat. Not only was this food not even close to real teriyaki (I said I'm familiar with the restaurant thing, not teriyaki itself) the coleslaw they serve as a side instead of mixed veggies is gross. The portions are huge which I'm thinking they give you because they figure the more they give you the more you'll try to choke it down and get used to the taste. Not happening. The menu sucks, the place smells and even my eggroll tried to make an escape.

So if I could give it negative stars I would. I had this for lunch and I was so unsatisfied that I had to rage yelp. While the proportions were big, it just wasn't that tasty. The noodles were overcooked and just overall I just felt they were using cheap ingredients for everything. I would not eat here. It seems to have a regular crowd that keeps the place open but if you want decent teriaaki, I usually hit Kokiyo. I've never had a bad experience there.

I blame myself. Walked through the doors craving brown rice and saying, "There is no way to screw up teriyaki." Well, they don't have brown rice and it turns out there is a way. The teriyaki sauce is actually decent, if thin. However, the whatever-I-ordered that's deep-fried tastes like everything else that's been fried in the last 3 years. Then I got the gristle in the chicken. At least, I'm pretending it's gristle. Too bad because I'm really hungry and only made it 3 bites. Instead I'm drafting a Yelp review and pouting. Maybe I can talk the driver into dropping by the Chicken Bar across the street. At least they have good brown rice.

Wow, it's hard to say anything more than what past reviews said, but this place is a dump. The food feels... unloved. That's the best way to put it. For $7-8, you're getting almost enough food for two meals, but who would want to save something this crummy. I got the Chicken Teriyaki, which seemed it would be their signature dish. The vegetables were stale and tasteless, the meat was stale and tasteless and the rice wasn't even that good. Avoid, there are much better, even cheaper places in the immediate area.

So, coming from Tucson, it's not unheard of for me to eat in a Japanese restaurant where the dominant language is Spanish... but having grown up on the north coasts, I am generally deeply suspicious of such a situation. That being said, I was craving teriyaki and rice for, like, a week, and there was Best Teriyaki right there... The food was really good! Really, really good. And there was a lot of it for not very much money. The veggies tasted oddly wood-like, but other than that, it was everything a girl could ask for in cheap teriyaki.

I'm really hoping they were having a bad night after I read these other reviews. My husband and I actually LEFT a few bites into the meal. We've never done that before. It felt rude, but I had to put manners aside because the food really was inedible. It was a greasy, overcooked mess that was disgustingly salty. My husband and I didn't talk to the manager because he said our untouched plates would get the point across. There went $18 down the drain. Am I going to make the "They should change their name to Worst Teriyaki" joke? Just did.

I was very skeptical to eat at a place called "Best Teriyaki". I mean, come on, how big headed could you get. If you're going to call yourself the "best", you better be just that, the BEST. One day I actually wanted to see if Best was the best so I ventured in. I went in there not expecting much, but I wasn't disappointed. I can tell you right off the bat that it is not the "best", but it is actually pretty good. It is Korean owned so the food is a bit Korean~ish, which is good for me. Stay away from the chicken because it has been very bad on the two seperate ocassions that I've ordered it. The teri beef and spicy pork are good choices, actually the best choices in my opinion. Very tender meat bursting with flavor. The portions are huge and actually fill me up to the point of no return. You know, when you get that feeling that you're going to explode and throw up becuase you're so full? Huge portions and good food if you order the right thing makes Best Teriyaki pretty good. Not the best, but pretty good. Stay away from all chicken plates, especially the what they call "kung pao" chicken. Since when did Chinese chicken come in a Korean kochu jjang sauce? Hmm...I'm still trying to figure this one out so if you have the answer, please do let me know. Thanks.

I like this place and have been dining here over 10 years. I have to say that the quality has gone down a little, but still you get a good amount of food with reasonable price. Chicken Teriyaki & Spicy Pork are good!

I really like this place. Portions are filling, selection is good and it's fairly easy to get to. While it's not the "best" I've ever had, it is better than many. The great thing is that they have a Tofu platter which my wife, the vegetarian loves...it's nice to see an option other than rice and vegetables for her when we're out. It's quick too. We usually get it to go on the way back from being out and we're in and out quickly. The chicken teriyaki has a lot of meat for the price and the "salad" is pretty good as well. I usually get meals out of 1 take-away. Also, their sauce is quite good and they keep it in a warmer so when you're eating in you can get extra sauce.

This is my favorite Teriyaki place of all time. I have been to many, but none of them have the same declicious food at great prices. Everytime I go there I get the Steak and Chicken Teriyaki. I love how much food they give you for the price you pay. The meats are cooked to the right degree and you're always satisifed. Also, the servers are pretty nice, so everytime you get take out, they don't skimp on the sauces they give you.

This is a place I go from time to time, and while I always like it, I get the feeling it could be hit or miss for others. Its always PACKED around lunch time so if you want to eat in, be sure to show up early or late. The tofu platter mentioned by the other reviewer is pretty good although the tofu can sometimes be a bit overdone(deep fried extra crispy) and sometimes also tastes vaguely of fish. I usually just opt for the rice and vegatables plate which provides a very sufficient heaping pile of steamed rice and lightly stir fried veg without having to eat something boiled in recycled grease.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
