After 36 holes of golf at Bandon Dunes, our caddie (Miggs) recommended The Loft for dinner. As well as he had helped us on the courses, we knew to listen to man's recommendation when he gave it. It did not disappoint. Appetizers: Baby octopus, steak tartare, crab cakes, beet salad Entrees: Moules+frites, butterfish, steak au poirve, scallops If you come to Bandon for golf, please take an evening away from the resort, come into town, and enjoy a meal at The Loft. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Literally the best meal I've had globally in the past year...possibly ever. Literally every course, every drink was perfect. Beautiful heirloom tomatoes, amazing crab cakes, impeccable scallops and hollandaise, tender beautifully cooked duck and perfectly crafted martinis. Do not miss this gem of a restaurant! And the beignets! The service! Perfection. PS: Jim S of 4 stars...get your head examined. Or stick to Applebees.

The food is exquisite, but I had to knock off a star as it is not handicapped accessible - one flight up and no elevator or ramp. One member of our party had a very difficult climb but she made it! It's very small, maybe twenty tables, with a minuscule bar that is too close to seated diners. Other than that there is no place to wait for an available table. On to the fabulous food - The beet salad with Gorgonzola Mousse was amazing and the Butter Fish was beyond my vocabulary to describe. A decadent coffee ice cream, hand crafted by the Chef, topped off the meal. A little pricey but worth it as long as no one in your party has a physical handicap.

Cute place! We were driving by after walking the beach and decided to go have a drink and watch the sunset. It was random, but glad we did. My husband has a soft spot for gnocchi, mostly because he makes great, pillowy gnocchi himself, so he ordered some. I am gluten free, so I couldn't have any. It took awhile to come out, ( it might be a good call for the servers to let the customers know that it's baked and it takes a minute-- it doesn't say it on the menu) His consensus was that it was good, but a bit on the rich side and needed a bit of acid to break up the cheese, cream and gnocchi. I ate a mushroom out of it and agreed that it was, indeed, rich. It seems to be put together ahead of time and the gnocchi soaks up the liquid, which leads to the heaviness. We watched the place fill up and other food that came out looked really good. I think this place will be around for a long time :)

Truly a delightful experience. I'm spending the summer in Bandon and look forward to many meals at The Loft. To begin with the service was exceptional. The food is "over the top"! We ordered the crab cakes and scallops and salmon over resting on goat cheese based tart. The food is outstanding and creative. The wines are excellent! I can't wait for my next visit. An Oregon Coast gem!

We had a disappointing dinner at the Loft, though I feel the overall quality is high and we likely suffered bad luck. I would still like to give them another chance at our next visit. 1. There weren't any specials. It seems the menu must not change very often since the reviews all mention the same dishes over and over. For a place this size without a frequently changing menu, I would have anticipated a nightly special based upon seasonal availability. 2. My husband's starter arrived cold. I had ordered a cold salad, so I can't understand why his dish would have been served cold unless the timing got really flubbed up around other tables. 3. My entree was incredibly salty and fishy tasting. I had the butterfish which had received many great reviews and wished immediately that I had tried something else. The marinade tasted like teriyaki, and combined with the fishy tasting fish gave the entire dish an overwhelming sense that I was eating a giant piece of unagi. My husband's roast duck was even better than the roast duck the previous night at Alloro wine bar, which nearly earned them a fourth star, but the overall impression left us feeling pretty disappointed. My leftovers went promptly into the trash.

Lovely spot, slightly overbearing but friendly service, and good food. Actually, the food could be fantastic as each element was cooked wonderfully...but each dish seemed like it had 2-3 extra ingredients that hurt the flavor combination...except the crab cakes, which were superb! For more detail - the organic green salad came with pears, candied walnut, and crispy prosciutto. It was lovely, but a little to much with both the walnuts and prosciutto...perhaps if the prosciutto hadn't been so darn crispy. Then I had the halibut which came on a bed of grilled fennel, spinach, corn, banana potatoes, tomatoes, and a tomato sauce. Way way too much going on and I found myself creating flavor combinations I liked with the wide array of flavors in the dish. So great potential, but needs refinement.

Pretty good, but I hoped for better for the price. I had the $24 seafood cioppino, a tomato broth soup, good but rather bland, and my spouse had a burger, which he said was pretty good - better than a McMenamin's burger (Oregonians, you know what I mean) but not tops. Lots of local seafood on the menu, attractive and comfortable upscale interior, very good service.

This restaurant was a complete surprise on all aspects. We were greeted by our Server Roxie, that made us feel like family. Each item we wanted, Roxie described the ingredients, the local organic source and how it was going to be prepared. We shared because we both wanted to taste each dish. Tomato soup, calamari, Tuna Tart and chocolate tart desert made a fantastic selection for dinner. A group of ten were seated (from a film crew) at another table and when our chef appeared we all gave her a round of loud applause for her culinary talent. We wanted to return on Monday only to find The Loft is closed. This restaurant is family run business that really cares what they do. Another great reason to visit Bandon Oregon!

Completely unexpected. We randomly ended up in town for a night on a road trip and were looking for a place to eat. So lucky we found this! The chef has a unique take on every course. If we find ourselves passing through town again we willowy definitely stop for another meal!

This restaurant left me conflicted. The setting is very nice, even classy. The menu is not very extensive and the night we were there, there were no specials. We were the only customers in the place on a "dark and stormy night" In January. The butter fish was PERFECTLY cooked. Sweet, moist and flakey on a bed of spinach with a butter/soy/ginger? sauce. A cut above average but not exceptional. Part of what bothered us was the squash bisque. There are so many good things that you can do with a butternut base that we felt like this was sub par. No other taste to complement the squash so it left us flat like the soup itself. The service was attentive (we were the only ones there) but no offers to refill the soft drinks. But I was outrage at the 6oz, $12 Manhattan without a call liquor. I get that some restaurants can get away with that but mid-winter on the Oregon coast in a moderate class restaurant made me feel ripped off.

On a weekend trip to the coast to eat and decided to eat here based on yelp reviews. We were excited but almost as soon as we walked in things went downhill. The service seemed subpar which my husband insisted was because they didn't like the way we looked but I told him no way and then we watched other tables get served and it was pretty clear all tables are not treated equally. Ordered the gnocchi and octopus for appetizers, the gnocchi was over cooked to the point of being one block covered in cheese and the octopus was burnt and it was served with mashed potatoes. Seemed a bit random however these items were decent. We ordered two entree the butterfish which was okay and the pork cheeks. That was the most disappointing item of all and why I didn't give this place two stars. The taste was good but it was essentially the same thing I cook in my crockpot. I chose to be honest with my server rather then tell him Something was excellent when it clearly was not. If I had been at a diner it would have been fine but I came to this restaurant for excellent food not diner food. When I told the server he responded with a very condescending statement that it's braised. I'm not sure why that would make it okay for this place to serve a crockpot meal for 24 dollars a plate. Overall food was just okay but not inventive or amazing. Maybe we got the meal that was equal to the service and the tables around us with the great service received the chefs attention.

Fabulous food and service! We are on vacation and have come twice. The steak tartare is out of this world! BUTTERFISH ...... You must try it. After an incredible dinner we had the goat cheese cheesecake - I thought I had died and gone to heaven.

A true gem in this little coastal town of Bandon. Of all our dinners, in all the places we visited in Washington, Oregon and California during our week long road trip, The Loft wins hands down. It's clean, and this matters. It has ambiance, perfect ambiance. The servers are professional and they're nice. Most importantly the food is made with quality ingredients and this you can taste. Portions were generous so you get what you pay for. It was a perfect dining experience from start to finish.

This restaurant had excellent food and service the evening we visited, surprisingly uncrowded for 7:00 on a Saturday in June. Our reservations were not needed. We shared the crabcakes, beet salad, butterfish, one nice pour of wine, and the cheesecake and lemon tart. Everything was beautifully prepared and served--best crabcakes and lemon tart ever and they are favorites I often order. It did come to just over $100 with the tip--pricy for sharing a meal, though it was more than enough (we did not need the extra dessert; we just couldn't agree what to order). A great place for a birthday celebration.

What a great evening! Four of the best courses I have had in some time. The salmon appetizer was fabulous and the salad was the perfect size. The scallops were the best I have had, perfectly grilled. The meal finished with the banana tart and it was the perfect combination. I will definitely be back next time I am in town. It is the perfect destination for clients.

I can not say enough good things about the loft! I have been frequenting this restaurant since I moved here last year, the food is hands down the best in the area and may be the best I've had anywhere! I don't normally write reviews but my last experience prompted me to. I was sitting at the bar enjoying my dinner and cocktail, I had the crab cakes followed by the loft burger and all was delicious ( I've had close to everything on the menu and it's all amazing). While I was dining a woman approached the bar to dispute her bill with her, I didn't think much of it until she continued berating her waitress. Normally I wouldn't concern myself with this but I found it so distasteful of the customer to have brought her argument to where I was dining. I was having a truly enjoyable evening until witnessing such rudeness, some people have no class. However I will say I was impressed with how well the owners handled it. Even with all that happened I had a wonderful evening, noting can change the fact that I always have a over the top delicious meal with excellent service when I visit the loft. Keep up the good work!

This was the best place we ate in Bandon. The food was locally sourced, interesting, and super duper yummy. We liked it so much, we ate there twice in the week we stayed in Bandon. The first time we dined there I had the steak while my partner had the grilled salmon. We shared a the crab cakes to start and the salad with the grilled cheese and beets. It was a lot of food (I took home left overs) but it was amazing. There was not one bad bite for me. The second time, we learned and did more sharing. We started with a cheese plate. Besides a good choice of three cheeses, it came with thoughtful pairings of fruit and jams. We each had our own first courses: I had the salad with a poached egg and bacon while he had the special of corn chowder with crab. The salad was good, the soup was extraordinary. We then shared the smoked salmon and goat cheese tart. It was perfect. Basically, this is big city fine dining in a relaxed, small town setting. The decor maybe could be spruced up, but given the other choices in Bandon, I would come here again and again.

The restaurant sits right on the docks near a small marina. The views are fantastic, unless you're just there to drink therefore you will be facing the bar. It's a very small restaurant situated upstairs (hello, the LOFT?). Although there were children present, I wouldn't recommend bringing them there since the place is small and the stairs are just on the other side of the bar. There are not too many restaurants in Old Town, only a handful I can think of and most didn't seem open after 9pm. Which would explain why the servers were apologetic that the service was slow. They were overwhelmed by the amount of people who showed up for a Saturday night. Don't get me wrong, I love this restaurant. But you have to understand, each meal was made special and not just slopped together. My friend/co-worker and I walked in and waited about 40 min. for the appetizer to show up. It WAS worth the wait. Our entrees showed up at a more normal pace. I ordered the salmon/goat cheese tart, he had the burger. The meals were exceptional!

This was one of my favorite eating experiences in Oregon. Our server was friendly and professional. The atmosphere was classy, yet relaxed. I ordered the Roasted Butterfish which was divine! Dessert beignets were a very tasty end to the meal.

Bandon at its best! Family owed. Wonderful service. Everything is fresh, local, homemade, and done with a unique and creative twist yet is still simple and enjoyable. And if you ever just want an amazing cheese burger- this is the place. By far the best I've ever had- One note, this is the kind of place you go to relax and enjoy the experience. Everything is made to order so it can take longer but its always worth it. Also, the desserts are a true delicacy. The cheesecake is fantastic! And the carmel chocolate tart will possibly be the best thing that happen to you all week. If your a foodie and crave an "experience" this is the place.

Wow, pleasantly surprised for this small town on a sunday night. Just left napa and we feel this place ranks right up there. All organic and fresh. Great service too. Not a 5 start typical restaurant but deserves 5 stars because I dont think I would change a thing about the place. The view is the best in town.

In June we tried to dine at The Loft in Bandon, but the evening we were there, a family with small children absolutely ruined it because they allowed their kids to run wild, both inside the small restaurant and outside on the deck. So noisy, so disruptive were these children, so uncaring were the parents, that we left without taking our (reserved) seats. To our gratification, upon our return home we found a phone message apologizing for the behavior of these very disruptive patrons. So this month we tried The Loft again. Superb food, very congenial surroundings. Parents, this is NOT a burger joint; if you must have a playground for your children, take them to McDonald's. But if you want a civilized meal with other congenial adults, a meal that has been prepared with artistic skill and that has been served with attention and finesse, you cannot do better in Bandon than The Loft.

What a pleasant surprise! We decided to give the restaurant a try after not getting into Alloro. We were apprehensive, as we weren't sure what to expect whether this would be a fish-n-chips or an attempt at Italian food. It was in fact a quaint little bistro with excellent food. Our party of four wasn't all that hungry so we opted for appetizers and salads. The crab cakes, salads and clam chowder were excellent. Just the right amount. The service was fantastic. We were there around 7:30 PM and although there was only one waitress she handle the room very well and was very attentive to all of our requests.

Nice place, good views, lots of fish items on the menu. I had smoked salmon and it was very good A+, my wife who is not a fan of fish, but wanted to try the restaurant struggled a little finding something on the menu that she would like.

This is far and away the best, most consistent restaurant in Bandon. We have been coming to Bandon for years and this is the best in town. Butterfish is amazing, scallops are perfectly prepared and creme brûlée is beyond compare.

Our waitress guided us through the menu and at her suggestion, I had the butterfish. It was fabulous! A great wine selection accompanied the meal that was finished with the caramel chocolate tart What a local treasure.

This was a forgotten draft, for a visit on labor day weekend in 2013. sorry that it was only now posted... Well we made two mistakes here. The first was not getting to Bandon before 7pm on a Friday, as the seafood shacks close at 7pm, and don't care if you come minutes after closing (nor should they). The second was coming to the Loft on empty stomachs, without reservation and then waiting the 1.5 hours (or more) for our food to come and when it did come, mine was under cooked, the gfs was overcooked and although visually appealing, the balance of the veggies/salad portion was completely off. Ok so the second mistake was coming here at all. I find it really difficult to one star a place based off of one visit, but I honestly cannot imagine this place doing any better than what we received without changing virtually every aspect of the restaurant sans the location. When not foggy, the view is pretty great. I don't really feel that I need to go into this place further, as I think diners will know by now to stay away. For the owner/manager, they could greatly improve the wait time, the table turn around time, the service, the bar-tending, the wait time and quality of the food, etc. There is something fundamentally wrong with this restaurant that goes beyond the sum of its failures because typically you don't have this bad of an experience and see other diners as uncomfortable as we were.

Have visited Bandon for years and never before eaten at Loft. BIG mistake! Wonderful, small restaurant with great views and even better food. My appetizer salad of heirloom tomatoes and melon with feta, teeny tiny crunchy croutons and fresh mint was the single best dish I had on our whole trip. My son loved the raw salmon served on a pink Himalayan salt block and we both thoroughly enjoyed the Gnocchi. Service was very good. We will most certainly be back!

I'm a local - that immediately makes me an outsider in Bandon, which primarily serves as this area's extension of California north. I worry whether this restaurant will survive in it's attempt to compete with its uber pretentious sisters - Coos County has a history of not supporting its better restaurants - we simply do not have enough citizens who are willing and able to pay the going rate for fine dining - so the better ones come and go, and few even care. So it would seem that The Loft would compete well in the touristy environment that is Bandon - Yes, but ... My fear is that The Loft may not be showy enough - or pretentious enough to appeal to our CA visitors. I think the appeal of The Loft is a subtle one - the chef is resting her case on securing the best of ingredients and presenting them in inventive and creative ways in a simple but tasteful setting. Will that be enough to make The Loft successfully competitive with its more showy and pretentious peers? Time will tell, but I sincerely hope so.

Arrived at 6:15 for dinner tonight with my fiancé and two 10 year old kids. There was a total of 11 customers inside plus our party of four. Having bad luck with Bandon meals this weekend in regards to quality and service. We eat out 3-4 times a week and this weekend we visited this quite, small town to relax and take in the sights as optimistic tourists do. This dinner service was on a Sunday evening and there were two young adult females as servers including managing the bar with 5 customers sitting at it. The environment was quite, soft pleasant lighting made the place promising. The restaurant is located on the second level of the building and has a nice view, hence the name of the place. The server was friendly and sat us down within 30 seconds, no complaint yet. The menu was short and so was the non-existence explanation of any suggestions by the soft spoken but friendly, well mannered lady. No problem, we made our selection and ordered (3) $17.00 hamburgers and shoestring fries, (2) bottles of root beer at $3.00 each, (1) glass of $3.00, Pepsi and (1) bottle of $9.00, "Two Town Bad Apple Cider". The order was taken and within a decent time, a warm basket of French bread and two small containers of butter arrived. The French bread was plenty for all four of us while we waited for the drinks and food. Visits by our waitress were few and far between although she seemed to be fairly nice and pleasant when interacting with us. Attending to all of the other customers and the help of the other female server seemed still lacking. Upon the meals arriving, the hamburgers looked inviting in appealing rolls. There were warm pickles served on my burger along with the truffle oil aioli which I couldn't taste at all. The burger was covered in a thin layer of the white cheddar cheese that sat on a cold bun. There were delicious tomatoes but small amounts of white onion on the burger. The taste of the burger was flat and we decided the French bread was better than the entire burger offered with a sour tasting thousand island type sauce in a container. I'm not a fan of thousand island sauce to begin with but the burger really lacked any depth of taste. Technically, McDonalds has better tasting burgers than, "The Loft". I dislike fast food and especially McDonalds. The fries were ok and were probably the only other tasty item other than the bread. The soda costs $3.00 for refills and the glasses are small and the ice is large. Not much for quenching a thirst to wash down the lackluster food. I really was disappointed by this place and can imagine the truth in the negative reviews. I can't understand how a burger can be so bland. Now, I'm not a skinny guy by any means, I'm fairly fit and eat food all day when I'm training. Not that I didn't eat the whole thing to be fair. At this point, I would have eaten a cup of butter to quell my hunger. Anyways, $72 dollars for sub-par school cafeteria hamburgers with cold good looking hamburger buns. And to pay $3.00 dollars for a cheap quantity of Pepsi and large cubes of ice baffles me in regards to the, "Lofts" rationale of charging for this. I'll take a pass next time when visiting Bandon and "Abandon" this over lofty idea of a quality establishment. Where the heck is Gordon Ramsey when they need him?

The Loft is basically awesome. Food sourced locally and seasonally when possible, carefully curated menu, cozy ambiance without sap or gooey-ness. Smart servers are attentive but not overly so. Butterfish is excellent. Scallops too. And, you can get a luscious, grass-fed beef, perfectly cooked hamburger... Pair all of it with a good wine list and life is just damn good here in Bandon. Yay for the Loft!!

My wife and I weren't planning to go out to dinner, but after a long day, we were too lazy to cook, so we went to town and chose The Loft. What a discovery! The menu offered tantalizing choices, many of them featuring locally grown organic produce. We both enjoyed the beet and goat cheese salad, and then shared two fish entrees--a butterfish and a ling cod. Each was perfectly flavored and perfectly cooked. We then had a dessert that combined chocolate and caramel that was a spot-on blend of salty and sweet. All in all, a wonderful dining experience, and since we recently moved to Bandon, one that we look forward to repeating often.

Lovely choice while in Bandon. Small space, warm natural elements. AND THE STAFF is warm & engaging too! We sipped a glass of wine on a busy Wenesday night, waiting for our table - there were plenty of golf guys up from Bandon Dunes Resort enjoying the night out. I ordered the Dungeness Crab Cakes - small morsels of crab, and only crab. We both had the roasted tomato soup - yummy. This is an unexpected delight in a small town. Fun location on the docks. Go there.

Honestly, this was THE best meal I have ever had! We started out with the watermelon and prosciutto salad which was amazingly refreshing and the tomato bisque. Seeing as we were in this lovely restaurant I knew, even though I've always hated tomato soup, I had to try it and turns out I couldn't get enough, I ate more than anyone else at the table! We also had the clams and cioppino for starters which were amazing, again considering I do not like clams I, or shall I say my taste buds, were pleasantly surprised. Next was the multi-layered goat cheese torte which simply melts in your mouth, and a butter fish dish that was to die for! (Both are highly recommended!!!) Finally we were topped off with a Chocolate Mousse which has differently layers of chocolate, the deeper you go the darker it gets. There wasn't a single complaint at the table. My only wish is I was closer and could go more often. AMAZING and a must try!!!!

In the past it has been challenging to find really good food in Bandon. The Loft, which apparently opened four years ago, was an amazing choice for our Friday night date during our weekend away. The mussels were so fresh and the white wine sauce was full of garlic and heavy cream. Delicious. The scallops were cooked to perfection and everything that came with them was perfectly balanced. Prices are totally worth the quality. I highly recommend this place. Oh and by the way, the service was lovely as well.

The Loft, their staff and their food were all that they were written about and more. Chef/ Owner Kali Fieger is a genius. Everything we ate we swooned over. The butterfish surpassed our expectations. My husband, who rarely eats fish, loved it. Our waitress, Joanna, went above and beyond. Her knowledge and service were fantastic. And we had a window table looking out to the pier for a gorgeous sunset. What a sublime experience.

I am giving this restaurant 4 stars because they only had one entree that wasn't "fishy" and I do not eat seafood but my husband loves it. The food was excellent and prepared perfectly. Service was excellent.

We ordered the butter fish and the seared ahi. Both were excellent. The butterfish was cooked to perfection. The ahi was beautifully seared. Our server Amy was tops: attentive, noninvasive and genuinely friendly. Nice warm atmosphere with lots of windows and wonderful original tile art. An enjoyable evening all around.

This is just shy of a 5 star dining establishment. While the atmoshpere was good, an interior table will be less interesting as the views of the docks and sea would be lost. And it is a small place so seating is limited. Service was very good. Don't be in a rush, this is not speedy service but every dish is prepared with care and the chef trys to use all local organic ingredients. The manila clams starter was deliciously prepared, the sauce a lovely garlic, wine, and herb-butter flavor, but the clams were small and the portion was a tad skimpy. The salads were very good and just the right size. Nicely presented - not your run standard 'out-of-the-bag salad' but a real delicacy of mixed greens, thin pears slices, candied walnuts and thinly sliced cheese (not sure what kind). Not sure what a previous comment meant by too much of the nuts as we both thought it was a perfect salad. We split the Butterfish entree and it was a generous serving allowing each of us a nice dinner. The fish was served over a bed of fresh spinach with crispy noodles and a sauce that had hints of ginger. An excellent choice, and very well prepared. A new taste and simply delicious. Without wine the total bill came to $51 for the two of us. I'd go back and do recommend it.

Service was very slow. Staff seemed overwhelmed. Food was so so. Crab cakes were very good. My fish dish was good. The others had the steak special and it was tough and over cooked really just awful.

We ate here the other night because we couldn't get into another restaurant with our large party of 10. It had great reviews, and they were very accommodating. WOW! Unbelievable! We thought we were in a high end gourmet restaurant in a fancy city. The fish, the scallops, the duck, everything we ordered was prepared to perfection. The service was top notch, and the wine list was exceptional. This was a great surprise, and can hardly wait to visit again, it was the best way to end a rough day on the golf course!

Excellent beet salad and decadent desserts (creme brûlée and hazelnut ice cream dishes fab). However one member of our party is a famous chef and his salmon was unfortunately dry / non-moist. Could have been an outlier. Overall good experience - a little spendy.

We went here due to good Yelp reviews, even though the photos of the decor make it look less nice than it actually was (at night). A bit pricey, but we were impressed by the food. I had the butterfish (many Yelpers had recommended) and reviews were spot on. Very good! A decent portion of fish, light sauce not too salty or powering, and enough spinach to complement not overpower. Nicely done. My partner had the beet salad to start and loved it, and then the crispy duck and loved that too. They did have a very limited wine menu (no Umpqua Valley wines?), and only two beers on tap (one of which was out). Reservations recommended, could get a little tight in there.

My gf and I stopped in last week and managed to get seated with no reservations (cool). The fried calamari was some of the best we've ever had and the Cesar was very good as well. However both of our meals had issues ducks was good but the Brussels sprouts were way overcooked and smelled like old socks. My lady's salmon was bland and the goat cheese tart it was on was rock hard (would have made a great frisbee). This place has a nice ambiance but sadly our main dishes were not impressive.

Eight of us went to the loft for dinner after 36 holes of golf at Bandon Dunes. The location is cute, quaint and by the water. We called ahead and were told that we could be seated immediately. We sat down and 6. The server (tall female-sorry can't remember her name) was attentive with the water and ordering. We ordered our food and enjoyed drinks. We ordered about five beers, hot water with lemon and honey, a scotch, and a soda. Initially, I asked to sample two different wines thinking I'd like a glass - I decided against this idea after thinking about it. The starters were pretty good. The steak tartare was good, the coconut pumpkin was a bit sweet, and the butter least salad. We also ordered crab cakes. FYI, there is an up charge of 6 dollars for an additional crab cake. Normally it is 15.50 for three small crab cakes but the fourth makes it 21.50. Our crab cakes were luke warm at best. And that's were where the problems for the night started. The entrees came out after a delay. Our group ordered the four duck a la oranges ($29), the salmon croquette ($22), steak fillet - often medium ($36). The duck is nothing special but definitely over priced. The food in general was luke warm and clearly had been sitting too long. The steak was cold. When it was sent back to the kitchen, the server said she could reheat it. Who reheats fillet?! After about 10 minutes, I asked for the server to just stop whatever was going on in the back because the rest of my party was nearly done with their meals. I asked that the fillet just be taken off the bill. The server did not make any clear response and then when everybody was done and the server asked about dessert, she brought out another fillet. OK. Problem #1 - don't serve cold steak. Problem #2 - communicate what is happening in the kitchen if food is being remade. Problem #3, when a guest says remove something from the bill because it was poorly timed, cold the first time, and served after everyone's' meals, remove it. The bill came out and that is where the real problem began. Not wanting to cause a stir, I quietly took the bill up to the server and asked about a number of charges and why the steak was not removed. First, we were not informed of a $6 up charge for the additional crab cake. The crab cake was about 1" in diameter. Certainly, not worth $6. However, fine - the crab cake was received and eaten even if we were not informed of the cost. That is where the absurd statements began. The loft charges 5 dollars for a soda and 5 dollars for a soda refill. The loft also charges $3 for hot water with lemon and honey. When asked about this, the server said, "well, our honey is really expensive and I put a lot of honey in." Really, so for two hot waters, it's $6... That is ridiculous. At that point, the server made the comment that she didn't charge for the tasting of the two wines. Uh... As far as I know, restaurants have never charged me to try a wine to determine whether you'd like to order it. At that point, I asked to speak to the manager or the owner, the server said she was the manager. Then, she went back in the kitchen and the owner came out. Wow, interesting how the owner magically appeared. Ultimately, the two owners were adamant that they cooked the food and it had to be paid for. At that point, I just wanted to leave quietly without disturbing my group. The temperature of the food was terrible. The service was OK but the communication of the servers to the kitchen is clearly off. The food is over priced for what it is and while the ingredients might be good/local/organic, the flavor was mediocre at best across the board. I would not recommend the loft and what's worse, when I asked the Bandon Dunes front desk staff, they did not recommend the loft. The pro shop did not recommend it either. Be warned!! Our total was $333 and the restaurant automatically added 20% gratuity for our group of eight. Our total was 399.90. The service, food, and attitude was definitely not with this amount of money. The server was lucky it was a large group because her service was not worth 20%. It was sub par at best.

Excellent restaurant. I wish I had gone to this place sooner during my trip to Bandon so I could have gone twice. I had the diver scallops which I would put on my "Best Thing I Ever Ate" list. My husband had two apps for dinner which were great. I'll definitely return and wish I could be a regular. Highly recommend you give it a try.

We visited this restaurant based on the reviews I read and we were far from being disappointed. The food was amazing. I ordered the baby octopus for appetizer and it was cooked to perfection! The entree we ordered were the pan seared scallops which were in huge portions, and salmon goat cheese tart: the arugula on top was a perfect complement to it. I was surprised at how the goat cheese matched the salmon at each bite. They have a full size bar for wine and cocktails too. Overall, an enjoyable visit! We shall return!

Let me begin by saying that the food here is excellent. The waitstaff is attentive and the view is great. However, they are considerably over priced. If you are okay with paying $11 for a basic dinner salad and $32 for a piece of salmon, a fried mashed potato thing, and side vegetables, then this is your place. If you, however, like me, expect more for your dollar, then only visit this restaurant on a VERY special occasion! Oh, and expect to pay dearly for your experience.

This place is fabulous!!! It seems that almost all of Bandon closes at 5:00 pm including a lot of restaurants. The Loft is open until 10:00 pm. They have a great menu, full bar and a great view. The staff is very polite and knowledgeable. The chef is above and beyond anything you will find on the coast. Very good pairing of flavors and techniques. I would definitely go back and recommend this to anyone.
