Played pacific dunes on March, 12, 2013 course was in great shape...the greens were a bit slow and bumpy. Had a great caddy...Josh aka cupcake...he was good.. had dinner at Mckees pub...wonderful service and excellent pizza...an outstanding resort...

Overpriced, and not a good value for your dollar. As a 9 index player, and having read and heard all the good things, I was VERY disappointed with my 4 days stay at Bandon. 4 of us stayed on the property; 1 being a handicap golfer who required a cart. Besides making it MANDATORY that the handicap golfer had to have a caddie drive the cart (at a minimum charge of $100) there was an additional charge for the cart itself. The rooms we stayed in (Chrome Lake) were OK, but nothing out of the ordinary - and if you are going - stay off property unless money is no object. Also, same with the food, not a good value for what they charge. If you are going to spend this much money I would recommend Pebble Beach.

Another fun golf trip. Great setting for the courses, but Bandon and Pacific were in just ok condition. The newer par three is great and Trails is greatly improved. Dinners were way off from prior trips. Not sure if the management company is cutting corners on the quality or staff, but it used to be A quality food and now C-....but with A quality pricing Will skip for a couple of years and see if they get it back in order. Caddies still great, we had Cam and he was a star.

Very nice place. Rooms could use a little updating. Food was good. Service was excellent. Not cheap but nothing of this quality is. Thought I was back in Scotland. More like 4 1/2 Stars.

That rare occasion when you hear so many positive things about a place before you go and it actually exceeds expectations. Just completed a long weekend with 11 buddies and it can be summed up like this: trip of a lifetime. Some of the best courses you'll ever play, incredible service, great food & drink, and the friendliest staff around. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. Fair warning, it's a 40 minute ride to nearest town which has only a casino and couple bars. So be prepared to golf, eat, drink, sleep, and repeat. Isn't that enough?!

Literally as good as it gets. Don't bring anyone that doesn't enjoy golf as there is not much else to do. Practice facilities are great and so is the staff. I only played pacific dunes but it was fantastic. I look forward to coming back and playing all the rest.

This was on my bucket list, and everything about this facility is first class. I have played Pebble Beach, and Spyglass hill, which was awesome, but this place is the best set of courses in the Country. Prices are very fair, and the restaurants are fabulous, without overcharging you, as Pebble does. Loved the challenge, the walk, the par 3 course, and the beautiful scenery. All I can say is go there, as you will talk about it forever. I'm planning on going back next year, so have fun.

I just came back from three days of golf in Bandon Dunes Resort. Here is what I liked and didn't like: Liked: - Very picturesque, storybook beautiful setting. I have never been to Scotland but they say it is very scottish grass type and topography. It is a special place for sure. You are right next to the ocean, green as much as the eye can see. - It is an easy flight from SFO. And 40 minutes from the North Bend airport is the resort. - The service is top notch. They trained everyone on hospitality very well. I got one of the best massages here. The therapist massaged me for 70 minutes when I paid for 50. Did not like: - It is expensive. Everything is expensive. We shared a townhouse with two rooms sharing a living room. Very spartan setting. It is $300/person/night. These are San Francisco downtown prices. Each round was $225. What ticked me off badly was club rentals was $60. When we were checking out and when I looked at the invoice, it says "club rentals $30, golf ball purchase $30" It wasn't presented to us like that. At the pro shop, they said if you want to rent clubs, it is $60 and it comes with two sleeves of balls. - It is windy! When I say windy, I mean 4-5 club adjustment windy. Two out of three days, it took some courage to get out there. It said 30 miles/hour winds. I hit my fairway wood normally 200 yards. In one of the holes, I thought I hit the perfect shot. It went 130 yards! - The food is blah. It was not bad. And it was not gourmet. I wish it was a little better food. I tried every soup they have. Really tasteless. Overall it was a good experience. But when I want ocean views and a nice setting I will go to Half Moon Bay or O Club next time. I don't think I will go back.

What's not to like about this place??? Ship your clubs ( shipsticks.com ) get a caddy, play 36 holes and drink plenty of awesome brews at the McKees pubs after ur rounds. My favorite hole on the whole property: (hard to decide), #16 at Bandon Dunes. All 5 courses are awesome. But if I have to rank: Bandon Dunes, trails, pacific then Old Mac (then Preserve just because it is a 13-hole par 3 course). Play a practice round at PRESEVE when you check in the afternoon of arrival... If you can control the ball flight and get used to chipping the ball from 70 yards from the green, then you will be fine on the big courses. GET A CADDY!!! And have fun!!!

We spent 5 of the most glorious days of golf and dining that cannot be duplicated at Bandon Dunes. I am a long time member of the Olympic Club (60 years) and have played every outstanding course in California (except for Cypress Point) both private and public and while many of these experiences were amazing, these past 5 days surpassed all expectations and anticipations.

The food is great and the service is tops! Roasted chicken is super and the accompanying Mac and cheese is over the top. The chunks of pancetta in the Mac and the size of the noodles are surprising. The scones at breakfast are well loved by guests and by local residents too. During my 2-day stay I enjoyed top quality food and service, and I already have another trip planned. Worth every penny!

Before my trip late November 2011 I was reading all the reviews on Bandon and couldn't wait to go... For years I have heard how good it was up in Oregon and this was my time to experience it for myself.. I must say that visiting Bandon and playing all four courses was by far the very best golf experience of my life!!! Believe me, now matter how good the pictures I saw before my trip or how good the reviews were- it doesn't hold a candle to experiencing it for yourself! We gambled and went in late November early December for the better rates and were blessed with 4 days of 55 degree weather with out a cloud in the sky. If you play golf take this trip! I have already scheduled my 2012 visit. Thank you Mr. Kaiser for creating a Golf resort as it was meant to be.

Six stars for the golf, and 3 stars for the staff. We played Bandon Dunes and each had a caddie. Caddies rocked, very cool and helpful. Stunning views and a fun and fair course. Par 3s have scoring opportunities. A lot of the holes do, and if you are remotely accurate with your driver you will be rewarded. Recommend the caddy experience. we had Jim and Dale. Old MacDonald was amazing too but it felt like you were wandering on the moon. Wide open spaces, greens the size of football fields, tight fescue lies. Problem with old MacDonald is too many holes felt the same. Oh, is this the one with lots of sand and impossibly undulating green? The cool thing is that you have to walk, which probably cuts down on some of the drinking and jack-assery you get at other places. We also had a marshal who just sort of hovered unnecessarily on us for three or four holes, at one point standing in the way of my partner who was about to putt. The courses take the environmental stuff to extremes. I don't think directional markers here and there or some other player-friendly features would detract from the natural beauty but I guess you have to placate the eco-Warriors. As if they didn't disturb the environment when they built the place? Down side is that staff frequently seemed confused, like the place hasn't caught up with its popularity. We had a crusty starter at Old MacDonald who berated us for wanting to hit drivers though no down side, a young woman in the pro shop at Old Mac who did not grasp that we were a twosome and not a threesome. The staff seems a bit unorganized as if there is no leadership. Accommodations are great, comfortable rooms. The pub is sort of odd, feels like you are at an airport bar or TGIF. They kept walking this French onion soup by us that smelled like bad cheese and genitalia. The place is Mecca for white middle-aged and older golfers. It is a beautiful place. A lot of other courses try to do this type of course but can't pull it off.

Absolute must-play for any golfer, a TRUE links course. Is it expensive? sure, but look at it this way, It's half the price of Pebble Beach! (and it beats Pebble Beach in my honest opinion). If you don't have time to play all 4 courses during your stay then I would say skip Old Macdonald and play the other 3. Not that Old Macdonald is a poor course, just the other 3 are far better. You can take a caddy if you want, but it is not necessary. Ignore people that tell you that you need one to get around, i've been here 5 times and have never taken a caddy.

OMIG!! THIS IS GOLF HEAVEN!! I felt like I was in Scotland...ok... I have never been there but it looked like pictures I had seen. The first night we arrived, I went out to the greens and started petting it...ahahah! It was so soft and perfectly manicured. I wanted to roll around in the fairway overlooking the ocean too but probably not appropriate. Pacific Dunes was to die for!! We had decent whether (like 1 or 2 club winds which was supposedly normal) and the course conditions were KILLER! Bandon Dunes was great too. If you're looking for a less difficult course and don't want to loose balls, this is the course to play. Didn't loose any on Bandon Dunes and lost 2 on Pac Dunes. Don't get me wrong...They are both Tough! The greens were like super ICE so practice before you go out. Caddy is key as the course is very tricky. Watch out for the GORSE!! If your caddy can't find it, it's history....just pull out another. They just started a flight from the bay area directly into North Bend. The drive from Portland to Bandon is about 4 hours-4.5 hours as you have to drive through a bunch of small towns. If you get stuck behind an RV even longer! Totally sucks! If you have the chance to go, GO!!! This place is pretty much for golfers only. There is really nothing else to do, unless you like a country casino about 20 minutes away or you like exploring tiny towns. I saw a couple ladies who didn't golf hanging in the clubhouse all day and they looked VERY VERY BORED! They do have free wireless everywhere so if you must go and you don't golf bring your laptop. My caddy was saying that 98% of the golfers there are men. COME ON LADIES!!! Food was alright but after the beautiful rounds of golf I don't really care about the food.

OVERRATED Golf was great, but the accommodations were at Ritz Carlton Prices with Holiday Inn service. Stayed 3 nights and room service dishes from the first night were not removed. We stared at them for 3 days, in amazement. Smoking bar. Cigars. Good Bar. A guys bar. Don't bring your wife or girlfriend to Bandon. Definitely a guys place.

We take a trip here every year and play all 4 courses and also bandon crossings. The whole experince is great. Leave your wives at home and enjoy your buddies. The golf can be frustrating at times but you have to have some humor. Taking 5 swings to get out of a bunker at pacific trails or taking 4 shots to get on the green at old mac from 120y out can be a memory that you will never forget. Even better when the ball rolls back past you after it rolls off of the front of the green on a short shot LOL. Looking forward to our next trip in three weeks. Its the best 5 days of golf in your lifetime. Remember have fun and enjoy the walk.

This is golf heaven for guys, the resort just opened it's 5th course on May 1st "The Preserve" a par 3 course with 13 holes ranging from 87 yards to 150. We borrowed one of the clubs small Sunday bag, put in a few clubs and grabbed a beer and went out to get the first hole in one on the course. Close but no aces on this interesting course designed by two masters Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. The short course is a great addition to the other 4 courses. Great for a second round. Mike Keiser, the owner is either a genius, a crazy man or one lucky guy. Probably a combination of all three, and his gamble has paid off. If your a golfer, this place should be on your bucket list, it was on ours and it did not disappoint. No carts, you have to walk, they have plenty of caddies to make it easy, it's hard to get there and weather is fickle, but the 5 golf courses are all masterpieces. Play them all, Bandon Trails vs Bandon Dunes is like Spyglass is to Pebble Beach, it's located in the trees and it has 17 amazing holes with views. A very enjoyable walk in the trees. The tee to green views with the elevation changes and strategic bunkers and lakes is perfect. This is a great test of golf. You will remember each hole. Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes are both Links style courses which are protected by wind, bunkers, and gorse. Never new what gorse was until I went but that stuff is nasty, stay away from that stuff. Each course has great holes. If you just can't play all the tracks, play either Bandon Dunes or Pacific Dunes, and then place Trails and Old MacDonald. Old MacDonald hosted the Curtis Cup (Women's Ryder) and a few other big events. It is Links golf on steroids with huge greens, one guy had a 80 foot putt. Some greens had turtle backs, some elevated and some with sneaky false fronts, false backs and hills. Take a caddy or risk 4 putts on that course too, its tricky with lot's of downhill and uphill putts. Practice your bump run shots you will need it. I would play Old MacDonald early in your visit as it has lots of hills so it's a physically harder walk, than the other courses. The resort has nice rooms, cottages and plenty of pubs and restaurants to sooth your soul or celebrate your winnings after your round. Some with some nice outdoor fireplaces. Great Food, Pizza to Steak to Seafood they have it all. One pub in the lodge has some nice cigars! Plan on playing 36 holes a day or 18 plus the new 13 hole par three each day, as there is one thing to do at this place - GOLF. Not a place designed for women unless they smoke cigars, play golf as there is no spa, or shopping other than Pro shop and a little gift shop. They do have some hiking trails, and I saw a pick up truck on the beach dragging someone behind it with a ski rope sitting on an old boogie board, but not sure that would be the excursion your lady friend would be up for. Stick with the golf, it is priceless and worth the trip. The management catered to all of our needs and this place is rated as the Number 2 Best Golf in US for a reason. They have great courses and great team of staff who made our stay perfect. The shuttle service is Top Notch, they get you were you need to be with no wait. We were standing outside and a staff stopped and asked have you been waiting long we said no, just a a couple of minutes. But he insisted we get in and he drove us to the clubhouse. It was the GM, funny thing was we had another employee ask the same thing right before he stopped. The owner surpassed all my expectations for Hospitality, service, golf and food. The owner is a golf genius, who loves the game, and everyone working at this resort from the caddy to the shuttle driver makes this a very special place. Go!

Of all the places to play, this is one of the best golf experiences you can have in the United States. I was only able to play Pacific Dunes and Bandon Dunes. I prefer Pacific, which everyone says is the more difficult one. It was an awesome experience. When we went, the weather was junk. I remember playing out the 3rd hole of Bandon and putting through all the little hail stones. It only hailed on that hole, but the whole experience was one to remember. The weather was actually pretty immaculate the next morning. Even getting caught in one of the huge bunkers with the wooden train tresses. Man, it was way cool. We didn't have a caddy. You can only walk, but it's a super nice walk! Very scenic. The course sheriffs are there and appear out of nowhere to keep the pace up, otherwise you never really see a soul besides the people in your group (if they're not able to keep it in the fairway, you maybe won't see then until you get back to the green). We got to also play the super secret owner's course. THAT was even more cool than anything! No real set course. Just pick a hole and whack'em. Located in the town of Bandon, OR there really isn't much to do in town. For Oregon, it's really small. The resort is a five star resort. From the accommodations and service to the food. I cannot recommend this enough. Oregon golfing at its finest!

Beautiful surroundings, great dining experience all the way around! I have been a customer since the doors opened, for lunch and dinner. I don't golf, just appreciate fantastic food, service and ambiance, never disappointed at Bandon Dunes! Thank You!

Bandon Dunes is becoming the top golf resort in the nation due to its 4 star golf accomodations and old school rules. If you are truly a golf lover- then this is the perfect place for you. There are many different room styles to pick from that are decently priced(especially during Nov-April) and 4 world reknown golf courses to play. Bandon Dunes also has 4 restaurants, a hot tub, sauna, fitness center, and offers massages by some of the best golf massuses in the nation. The Bandon terrain and weather is very similar to Scotland, making it one of the most breathtaking places to retreat to in the United States- maybe even the world.

Sent my husband and son here for a surprise 60th birthday gift and all I have heard is how wonderful their trip is. The staff everywhere has made this trip special for him. He is there now and telling me he wants to bring me for a weekend stay and I don't golf. Arranging this trip was easy and the staff who I contacted were very helpful with suggestions for travel arrangements, setting tee times, caddies and accommodations. Thanks to all of you for making this surprise trip so wonderful!

When I called to make a reservation about a month in advance, I was told, based on my handicap, that if I was only going to play one round of golf while there, it should be Pacific Dunes. It happens to be the number one public course in the U.S., according to most publications. Now I see why. So my anticipation grew with each passing day and I finally arrived on August 31 after a three-hour drive from Eugene. I love the little signs that point you to each specific golf course as you drive into the resort. I head to Pacific Dunes. The clubhouse looks very rustic and is perfect for the setting. The clubhouse is a little small, but has everything I need, including the diner. I check in and the hosts couldn't be nicer. They checked me in early and said as soon as I finished breakfast, my caddie would be waiting. I also met Craig, great guy that exchanged bad back stories with me and Michael, my caddie, another great guy. First, I had breakfast. The view from the restaurant overlooks the first tee and I see the trees moving pretty good because of the wind. I'm told it's VERY windy all the time, but who cares. I'm golfing at Pacific Dunes! I get my breakfast and the hash browns are some of the best I have ever had. I just had to call my old man from the restaurant to let him know I was there! Because I didn't want to fly in my clubs, I chose to rent them and I got a great set of Callaways, perfectly fit for me with a hybrid and a good putter. 60 bucks, not bad. Only thing is, I didn't know the clubs were to be rented from the Bandon clubhouse. I had to get back in my vehicle and drive a mile to the other clubhouse, get my clubs and drive back. No biggie, I was in no hurry. So I return and we're off. Michael explains the gorse that was brought over from Europe and that it's nasty, something you don't want to go in to. But we're walking along, he's explaining the course and I'm just taking it all in. The day is perfect. About 65-70 degrees, perfectly blue skies and I'm told it's the nicest day in a while. Course is tough. You have to either know how to play links golf or have a great caddie. I had the latter. Michael helped me avoid an outrageous score with his tips and advice. Course was awesome; fair but tough. Greens were great and the bunkers were brutal. Some holes were just impossible for a short hitter, such as myself. But I made some nice recoveries and enjoyed myself immensely. Michael was a great caddie and I appreciated his expertise. The ocean views are stunning and watching the hang gliders was great. It's hard to compare this course to Pebble because the courses are so different. Nothing beats the Monterey Peninsula for scenery. Nothing. But this course in itself is right up there with any course in the world, as I'm sure the others at the resort are. The caddies are top notch and very friendly. By the way, I stayed in Coos Bay (20 min. drive). Great option. Yes, this is a bucket list resort and someday I will return to play the other courses. I can't wait!!

If you love to golf, this place is for you. However, if you don't, the coastal location is still stunning - especially on sunny days. The Galleria restaurant is fantastic. Awesome wine list!! Although the rooms are not overly luxurious, they are clean and comfortable. Worth the time if you are traveling the Oregon Coast or seeking a great golf experience.

Great golf courses with great Resort staff. My wife, who doesn't play golf loved the resort. There are hiking trails for those who want to enjoy this great coastal area. The staff are very friendly and very helpful.

As good as golf gets in this country. PacDunes was my favorite of the three (the views from the 3rd and fourth tees are the closest I've seen to Ballybunion...I got shivers as I stepped up to hit both tee shots). But both B. Dunes and Trails more than hold their own. Trails has some tremendous inland holes (like the 7th, 11th, and 13th), and the 16th and 17th at Dunes might have been my favorite holes on any of the three courses. Everything about the resort was amazing--terrific food, friendly staff, PERFECT maintenance (the greens were actually smoother than anything I've played in Ireland). You'll want to turn around & go 36 more as soon as you leave for home!!! :(

Can you give double points? This is golf heaven. Every bit of every inch of this resort is amazing. The staff is so attentive to detail. The food everywhere is amazing. Had the soup of the day last Sunday. The name wasn't appealing but the soup was sooo flavorful. Oh year 4of the most distinctive golf courses are available to you. A fifth one is almost done and it looks fantastic. I want to get flashlights and sneak one. We had 8 guys stay one the resort in a lodge. Wonderful lofts. We each had a room and bathroom to ourselves. Sooooo if you love golf and want to have the time of your life go to Bandon Dunes. Grab a caddy and enjoy!

  • Joel B.

I was so disappointed. Everyone seems to think that this place is the next St. Andrews, and if you feel otherwise you an unsophisticated golfer. The courses are interesting, but frankly Bandon is no St. Andrews. It's as if Disney built these courses. There is zero ambience. There is no personality to this place. One cannot help but feel that there is something missing. You cannot comfortably play these courses without a caddie. There are so many blind shots that require direction. It is cold, windy, foggy, and it takes 4-6 hrs to play a round. Many of the bunkers were mud-filled and uncared for. The restaurants and pub were plain, and had no personality, like a Holiday Inn. McKees was more like an American sports bar than a Scottish pub (despite this, the food there was pretty good). The breakfast buffet at the lodge was very good as well. The accommodations were very simple and nearly Spartan, OK, but not worth the money. If it's "golf the way it's meant to be" then golf wasn't meant to be for the regular guy who loves to play golf and wants to play some links golf, unless you cherish elitism.

Nice. Exceptional views. My game is weak at best, but after a few cocktails I'll give you a run for your' money. Never had a caddy before, but now I'm hooked (maybe it was his sense of humor or the fact he reminded me of my grandpa). Didn't even finish the 18th hole, just enjoyed the sunset!

Simply an elite and first class resort. The oregon coast is a must for any traveler. We spent 3 days at BD and never left during that time. After long days of golf on four of the best courses in the world, the pub had good quality and atmosphere to end the day. All facilities and rooms are clean, comfortable, and modern without being stuffy or pretentious. No matter what your tax bracket, you'll enjoy your time here. The combination of nature, golf, and hospitality is rare and welcome. We played 4 rounds in 3 days and could not have had a better week. One word of advice to management: get COKE products on the prooerty! At least put it behind the bar or something...

Played 5 phenomenal rounds and the last two days decided to switch it up and had Jason Little be our caddy. He is spot on with his reads and a senior caddy. Been at the resort a long while and is really quiet and personable. Doesn't have that overbearing personality that our caddies the first couple of days had. Would recommend Jason Little to anybody golfing he really improved our scores and was fun without being obnoxious. We tipped him $150 a bag per round. He was great.

Regarding the Sunday brunch: it's delicious! However I can only give three stars because we were originally seated in a beautiful room with a round table (there were 9 of us), then abruptly moved to a small rectangular table in the bar area due to lack of communication with the hostess/ waiter. The 9 of us were there celebrating a birthday, their family having been there many many times in the past, paying lots of money! It was disappointing how it was handled.

We stayed here (in the Lodge) one night on our way from Santa Rose to Portland- and also my husband really wanted to play the course. We loved the whole experience!! It's an oasis in the middle of small tiny towns. The staff were great, the rooms were gorgeous!! They even had charging ports and air purifiers in the rooms. The breakfast and lunch at the restaurant were great! And my husband can't stop talking about how wonderful the golf course was!!

This is a place every serious golfer should get to in their life. I have been twice and have to say it is the best golf resort I have been to. The courses, service, and facilities are excellent. Expensive but excellent. You get what you pay for in life sometimes.

5 stars because of the spectacularly beautiful setting with 4 uniquely amazing golf courses. This is a must-see destination for golfers and the place is 100% dedicated to golf "as it was meant to be" (as their slogan says) with nothing else to distract (or entertain, if you don't happen to be a golf fanatic). We played with two different caddies (Al was terrific, the other guy--not so much). It was a nice luxury for $100 to share a caddie but it certainly wasn't necessary to enjoy the difficult courses. We didn't use caddies for three of our five rounds. We had to transfer rooms during our stay which was inconvenient but it allowed us to experience two different accommodations: A Chrome Double and a Forest Double at The Inn. The Chrome Double was larger, like a townhouse without a kitchen, and it was surrounded by a lush green forest. It was peaceful and deluxe in a sort of Scandinavian way. The queen beds were terrific. We spent one night in a slightly less expensive Forest Double room at the Inn and it was more like a motel room, albeit a nice, spacious, clean one. The shower an jacuzzi tub in the Inn room was superior to the one in the Chrome room. The Inn is walking distance to several courses and the Lodge (where you eat breakfast) whereas the Chrome is a three minute drive or ride on the free shuttle. The food at the various courses was very good, especially at Pacific Dunes. Get the fish sandwich or the bratwurst and onion rings. (I wrote a separate review of McKee's Pub). As for the golf, Trails was grand and spectacularly beautiful. Pacific Dunes was too scenic to be believed and it's understandable why it's rated as the #1 or #3 best course in the US. Old Macdonald was extremely interesting as it is apparently the finest recreation of one of the old links courses in the UK. There is very little difference between the fairway and the greens, and the recommended play is often to putt, sometimes from well over 100 feet from the hole. Bandon Dunes, the original course, was easily our least favorite, though it was still very nice and had a few spectacular holes. But it had a few duds, unlike the others. The condition of all the courses was very good. The customer service and friendliness of the staff from start to finish was exceptional. Also, even though you're isolated at the resort, you don't feel like their trying to always make an extra buck of you. The major downside of a trip to Bandon Dunes is that it is quite possible you could book your trip in advance (as you need to) and then arrive only to endure horrible weather the entire time--in which case, you basically can't enjoy the golf if you dare to play. We had unexpected torrential rain (merely an "Oregon mist" our caddie called it) and we had to stop after 13 holes. And despite having rain gear, we were soaked and unhappy. Fortunately, the next three days were fine, two of them glorious. All in all, despite the remoteness and inconvenience of the place, it's an adventure that every lover of the game should go to at least once. I'd like to return.

Ranked #1 resort golf for a reason. They do golf and they do it well. Excellent range of sleeping options, restaurants and most importantly 4 top ranked courses. Practice facilities are amazing and they have a par 3 option if 36 in a day ain't enough. Caddies are very knowledgeable and they take care of all your needs. Food options are VERY reasonably priced. It's a WALKING only course so be in shape lol. I can't say enough about how much I love this place as a single digit index player with lots of traveling experience nothing comes close to full value for your money. Some of the negative reviews here are uneducated and sour grapes. Gold digest, golf magazine etc agrees #1 across the board

There really is no place like it in America. If you're a serious golfer,it is a must. A group of four of us were there for 5 days, playing all four big courses and the the 13-hole par 3 Preserve course. What a delight. I've been to most of the signature courses in Scotland, and to a half dozen of the best in Ireland. It was, and remains, my favorite golf on the planet. I was skeptical that even remotely comparable golf existed in the States. It does, in Bandon. It is true links turf, with dunes made by eons of weather. It really feels like the courses existed there since time immemorial, and the architecture consists of deciding where to locate tee boxes and holes. To me, that is the single highest compliment I can pay a course, and it applies to all four courses at Bandon. I suppose my favorite is the original Bandon Dunes course. Oh, the 3 closing holes! What bliss! But a close second would be Old MacDonald, inspired by the work of Charles Blair MacDonald. It is an absolute winner. I've heard complaints about it, but they are baseless. The resort is wonderful. It is all golf. This is a remote, hard to get to place, and golf is king and queen here. As it should be. But the rooms are wonderful and spacious. The staff is so accommodating. On one afternoon there after a morning round, work intruded (as it can!), and I needed to Skype with a colleague for half hour to clarify something. I asked for a spot in the Lodge where, right now, I could find a modicum of privacy. I was escorted to a vacant meeting room, brought beverages that they wouldn't charge me for, and taken care of personally by the General Manager of the resort. I'm nobody unusual, nobody particularly important, but goodness they all, top to bottom, made me feel like I was. What a fabulous experience. I will be back, again and again. And then, again.

Customer service is probably the worst I've ever experienced. When you come to play at Bandon Dunes you expect to be treated like golf royalty. Unfortunately the golf courses are awesome. Candies are horrible didn't even bring a towel to wipe my clubs. The waitresses are horrible. Hostesses horrible. Every staff member has an attitude. They need to take some tips from other resorts of this caliber.

Thank You!

Go!

This is a place every serious golfer should get to in their life. I have been twice and have to say it is the best golf resort I have been to. The courses, service, and facilities are excellent. Expensive but excellent. You get what you pay for in life sometimes.

Literally as good as it gets. Don't bring anyone that doesn't enjoy golf as there is not much else to do. Practice facilities are great and so is the staff. I only played pacific dunes but it was fantastic. I look forward to coming back and playing all the rest.
