Came here on a whim, starving, and needed food pretty fast because we had a toddler to get to bed. We were staying just around the corner, called in our order and picked it up all with in 20 minutes. FANTASTIC FOOD!!! Wish we could've eaten in the restaurant and relaxed, but life with our 2yo wouldn't let us. We had spaghetti bolognese with 2 meatballs added, ravioli, and a lemon cheese cake for dessert! So good!!!

The service was slow to start as the hostess was also our waitress as well as many others. I overlooked that as its a small place and she was doing what she could. What I based my review on was the food and the cleanliness of the place.I had the Rigatoni Salsa Rosa and it was not up to the standards of restaurant quality. The dish was what I compare to Ragu bottled sauce (nothing wrong with that but not for a restaurant), with the tube pasta that I can pay less than 1.00 for at a local grocer, It had very little not even a handle full of squash on the top. My husband got the lasagna and he was fine with his. We both got desert his was a flour-less cake which he described as gross and mine was the tiramisu which was wet. So at this point I wasn't impressed but it happens. Now what shocked me came next. Our waitress spilled some ice on the table and we cleaned that no problem but my husband cleaned up the water and found that his napkin came back with a dirt color on the napkin. He then found floating items in his water glass. Being clean is a priority and in hindsight I should have noticed the sticky tables and that when the tables were flipped there was no rag involved..Tip: Keep it clean, keep it fresh, keep it homemade, and then people will always be pleased.

never again in life!!! i really wanted to like this place... but it was sooooooooo disgusting! they had fruit flies flying all over the restaurant. when we asked the server if there was somewhere else we could sit, he said that they had a fruit fly infestation and they were everywhere! then the flies landed on our food and i wanted to vomit. this place should be shut down because if the fruit flies are in the dining room like that... what the hell does their kitchen look like? grossssssssssss!!!

My husband and I ate here last night, we usually do not eat cheese or anything of the sort, so it was a real treat. We walked into the restaurant both window seats were empty so we had primo seating, it was beautiful having a sidewalk view in Astoria at night. Sadly they did not have the veggie lasagna which I really wanted. My husbands lemon drop cocktail was beautiful and delicious. We both got side salads which were very fresh and yummy. He also got the eggplant parmesan- which came out bubbling from the oven looking amazing, sadly was mostly marinara and cheese very little substance. I got the Rigatoni Salsa Rosa which him and I devoured was delicious! The service was really great and would probably go back if we were going to splurge again, I bet that lasagna is amazing!

We stopped in for lunch both the food and the atmosphere was great. Would highly recommend if you are in the area.

5 stars for the food, however the service started out slow, took quite awhile to even be greeted. Food was great. My problem is with the fact that there was 2 other tables in the whole place, 1 full of 4 old men who were loudly speaking very vulgar about women. This really ticked me off. I brought it to the waitress's attention and she told me she knew and obviously was uncomfortable about it and trying to avoid them as much as she possibly could. It really ruffled my feathers as I am a waitress/bartender who also has to deal with these situations. A man came over who was speaking with them and I asked if he was the owner. I told him of the situation and he didn't seem to care. Blamed it on their drinking and the fact that they were fishermen. Still, it's suppose to be known for a fine dining establishment, he should have told them they needed to quiet down. Very rude and unprofessional in my opinion.

Wow this place is crap ever since they're sous chef left them holy crap was this place filthy with all the fruit flys and nasty stench and don't get me started on the bland sauces over cooked meat and mushy noodles mash potatoes are like glue and the desserts taste like a box I would never come back here again

Went here with my husband on a romantic getaway to Astoria. Service wasn't bad, our waiter (younger guy) was really pleasant and attentive. The food however... was so bland. Just go get some Ragu. It will be better. We ordered extremely basic dishes- fettuccine alfredo for me, spaghetti with meatball and sausage for him. I can't believe how bland the alfredo was. It tasted like they made a beschamel with unsalted butter, added skim milk, and threw it on a plate. It was bad. I couldn't taste any cheese in the sauce. The spaghetti was decent, but nothing special. To sum it up, I was extremely disappointed.

This place was so good!! We stopped for lunch and we're glad we did. I had the butternut squash ravioli and it was great. My husband had the special, which was clam linguini. It was fabulous with at least a pound of clams. We will definitely go back.

Had a great lunch here. I especially recommend the pasta with sausage in a mustard sauce. Unusual flavoring, but if you like French-style, grainy mustard, you'll love this.

We came in for dinner on a Monday night and it was pretty quiet here. The service was hit or miss though despite the lack of a dinner rush - it waffled between over attentive and very inattentive, strange. Prices were fair and quality of ingredients was good. The food was good, classic Italian. The house made bread was nice despite it now being offered at a charge. The chicken piccata was very tasty and was served with a delicious side of broccolini and bacon. The pasta and red sauce was pretty standard, nothing to write home about.

I have been to Fulios on several occasions for staff dinner parties, but just recently I visited for a more casual lunch date. The restaurant, located near the heart of commercial, sports two street-facing window booths that are almost always full with couples dining. The interior runs deep, with a variety of booths and tables leading back to their (small) party space. The decor is warm and inviting, although nothing really stood out to me. Their menu includes a wide selection of Italian antipasto, salads, pasta, main dishes--such as steak or chicken, and of course desserts. Previously, I've ordered from their dinner specials which were usually a steak of some kind with a little side of vegetables and I always opted for the mashed potatoes, although you may order a side of pasta instead. The steaks have always been nicely seasoned, cooked carefully, and overall delicious. I am a stickler about my veggies but I have always been pleased by what they have served me here. I have also had the pleasure of sampling some of their desserts, such as the tiramisu, which I found generally enjoyable. For my lunch date, however, we decided to order from their pasta menu. My dining partner ordered the fettuccine alfredo with smoked salmon, and I ordered the spagetti con polpette (meatball). We started with a very fairly priced side order of bread with oil and vinegar--which, suprisingly, came with a refill at no extra charge! I have to say I agree with other reviewers that the oil and vinegar was served in too deep of a ramekin, but that hardly influenced the flavor--it's just an aesthetic prefrence. Regardless, service was prompt and friendly, and our main dishes arrived in a timely and attractive fashion. Although my dish had more visual pizazz, I preferred the fettucini. My spaghetti had the right consistency (although it needed salt), but the marinara is what really let me down. Perhaps this is because I am used to my mother's sauce--which was always closer to a bologanese with lots of meat--but even for a simple tomato sauce I felt like I've had better flavor from a jar. There was no hint of basil, oregano, or even salt really--totally uninspired by real Italian cooking. Unfortunately, I found the meatball to be similarly disappointing. That being said, if you have simpler tastes (or have picky children) I think this would be a satisfactory meal. The fettucini on the other hand was creamy and delightful. However, I am suspicious that the smoked salmon and capers were what made this dish so spectacular, because their flavor is really what I liked about this dish--so I can't say whether the chicken or shrimp options would be as great. In sum, I would not really reccomend Fulios for pasta, but I have enjoyed my previous experiences with their steaks and desserts, so they are definitely worth a try.

My husband and I stopped for lunch at Fulio's Pastaria on a recent trip to the Oregon Coast. Beyond experiencing excellent service and enjoying delicious food, the meals, comprised of basic Italian specialties, were "correct." Having traveled extensively in Italy, there are so many restaurants in the U.S. that serve an American version of Italian food--the heavy-tasting and overcooked stuff that you can get just about anywhere. When you find a restaurant that does Italian food the way that it's supposed to be done--the way that it's done in Italy--you want to tell everyone about it! Fulio's is one of these places. I'm just sad we don't live closer.

After trying 10 or so places in Astoria so far, this proved to be the most disappointing dinner experience to date, by far. From start to finish, the experience was lacking, almost an episode out of the Twighlight Zone. Chef Ramsey, this place needs a revamp! The "host", after asking how many of us were eating, grabbed a few menus, sped away to a table without prompting or a chance for us to even follow, dumped the menus on the table and kept walking to the back of the restaurant to hang out and chat with friends. Then we sat, and we sat some more. Mind you, the place is almost empty. Then we got some water. Then we sat some more. After 15 to 20 minutes, we finally asked the nice girl serving water (the only one who seemed to be working hard at her job here) to hail us a waiter so we could place our order. He never came. Instead of serving us, he was apparently too busy texting in the main room of the restaurant. On the verge of walking out, our water server arrived to take our order for us. On to the food. The bread was bland and unimaginative. The caprese salad had big balls of mozzarella cheese which were completely dry and not fresh. Worst caprese salad...ever. The side salad was passable. And the main courses were only so-so. The pasta was a bit watery and vegetables were lost in the sea of sauce and cheese. At last, after some more texting, our server mercifully came by to collect our credit card so we could get the heck out of there. We will not be coming back. SERVICE: D (girl serving water was the only saving grace at this place) FOOD: C (bland, unimaginative, can't execute on basics) AMBIANCE: B

We arrived on a Sunday night with no reservations. Very busy but seated promptly in the "bar" area. The Caesar salad was the most flavor free I've ever had. It was seriously just lettuce with a bit of cheese and a hint of dressing. Weight Watchers salad spray has more flavor. Another plus...giant chunks of food stuck to the wall. Like someone sneezed their flavor free food across the table. I had a pasta with pancetta, crab, pine nuts and pesto. It seriously tasted like nothing. Just as flavor free as the salad. My gf had the Alfredo. Also...flavor free. Bread, for which the owner was disturbed that was delivered to us free of charge, also flavor free. How can you serve so many things so devoid of flavor that they make Olive Garden seem like The French Laundry?

Friendly staff, great food - real sliced garlic in the Penne Arrabiata and the waiter gave the kids a free scoop of spumoni! Good size portions on the dishes. Small but clean dining area with an authentic feel, like your Grandma is cooking back in the kitchen. Definite recommend - good for a night out with that someone special or with the family.

I have to say that I was seriously disappointed and rarely will make an effort to review when not happy about my experience. Dinner, Friday, 'off season', the atmosphere upscale but the food so bad that I could not finish it. I was with a great cook who pointed out what I already observed. The pasta had clearly not been drained as the plate had standing water that I had to drain off before I could eat! The other plate obviously had 'canned' tomatoes which only added to my disappointment. The food was pitiful. I guess I should be thankful the portions were small. The waiter had his girlfriend and her daughter at a table and spent a large portion of his time with her. Debby waited on us and she was excellent. She obviously was involved with ownership or SHOULD be. Interesting nobody asked me how the food was... $76 wasted.

I gave it only 2 stars because the food preparation was terrible. My husband ordered a medium rare and was served done. The table next to us had the same problem. The placed got slammed and there was only one waiter. He was very good but service was slow. Not his fault. The food was good but not for the price.

You gotta do "simple" well first! The Yelp has never led me astray, up to this point. My wife and I went to Fulios because we read such great things. I'm sure their butternut ravioli and rosa rigatoni are great, but their execution of simple fare left us very very disappointed. The meal started good and the service was prompt and friendly (even though we were the only people in the restaurant). Good foccacia with olive oil and balsamic, but serving it in a deep ramakin was just confusing. My wife got the shrimp scampi. Underseasoned shrimp, underseasoned pasta, and undercooked shrimp. (I love my shrimp on the rare side, but I'm told I'm a bit alone of this one.) I saw that this was a tuscan steakhouse, so I got the steak. Nice cut and cooked very nicely, but offensively underseasoned. I don't know where their cows come from, but my cows don't come seasoned. This steak was seasoned with parsley. A pinch of salt and pepper in preparing both of our dishes would have resulted in a two star jump. Just some salt and pepper, come on. Unfortunately for Fulios I live pretty far away and there are plenty of places competing for my dollar on the coast. I probably won't be back.

We stopped tonight to grab a dinner to go. We each ordered the Chicken Marsala over pasta. We requested extra sauce for our pasta. It was exceptional! I've heard they charge for bread but our to-go bags had yummy bread. The dish came with a side of steamed veg that was tasty and the servings were big enough that I have some for lunch tomorrow! Excellent decision!

Fulios passes the test in a restuarant scene that is quite competitive for any city where the citizens have grown accustomed to a fine dining experience. Astoria has become just that over the years. Fulios was one of the first to establish that if you build a beautiful dining room, stay true to fresh ingredients, and insist on a professional wait staff you will be successful. All this and it's kid friendly as well with a menu of dishes picky eaters will enjoy. The wine selection is diverse. In addition the owner has opened a full service deli packed with imported meats and cheeses just next door where they will prepare a picnic to order.

My wife and I really enjoyed our experience at Fulio's. The service was courteous, professional, speedy and not overly solicitous- this despite the fact that they were also serving a party of 20 when we arrived. For an appetizer we shared an order of Griglia Verdura (grilled vegetables), an excellent alternative to ordering dinner salads. I had Penne Putanesca with rock shrimp and my wife had a linguine dish with prawns. We shared a bottle of Chianti that was recommended by the waiter. The portions were generous. My entree was expertly prepared. The flavorful sauce had just enough anchovies and capers to make a statement without overwhelming the delicious shrimp. It was served piping hot. My wife raved about her entree. The wine was excellent. We will definitely return when we are in Astoria.

Excellent service. Excellent food. Excellent quality. Fulio's is definitely one of my favorite places now. That's probably the only reason I'd wanna be heading back over to Astoria anytime soon! We were there in the dead of the afternoon & were spoiled with a VERY polite waiter who was super awesome.. We ordered the butternut squash curried ravioli & it was to die for.. Delicious. The house salad was also yummy with super good, what seemed to be homemade, dressings.. Honey mustard/blue cheese.. They have good bread as an appetizer & we ordered a side of warm marinara to dip it in.. Super tomatoey.. Super good. And to top it all off, we ordered the lemon cheesecake with toasted cherries.. It was uhhhmazing... Lol. I literally felt like I was in Italy with the entire atmosphere, the music, the service & the food. Our experience was SUPERB. (:

After three days of seafood we needed a change! Hotel recommended this place. My shrimp dish was a little dry but by adding some fresh lemon perked it right up. Spouses veal piccata must have been very good- he inhaled it! The reason for the 2 stars was for the poor service. No refills on the water and could not get a second drink from the server. Would probably try this agin if we go to Astoria agin - maybe just an off night? They were not busy so I can't blame that..,,,,,

Food was not very good. Service was good and friendly staff. My pasta was cooked with to much mustard and was all I could taste. We asked for bread and after 10 minutes asked again they said it was in the oven yet when it . Finally cam it was cold.

Great ambiance, but have to say we were disappointed in lasagna and eggplant dishes. Over cooked and covered in oily cheese. Desserts were a joke have NEVER seen cheesecake look like a plate of cottage cheese covered in rum sauce and the flour less chocolate cake was just plain embarrassing!

I sooooo wanted to like this place. We were visiting Astoria for just a night, splurged a bit for a nicer-than-normal hotel room and decided to eat here for dinner. We've had so much good luck in Astoria lately, I think we thought we could do no wrong. This was not a bad experience by any means, don't get me wrong, it was just a bit disappointing. The service started out a bit awkward, but that was more of a personal preference thing. I don't really like being asked where to sit beyond "booth or table." I ended up picking a place that walled us off from the other diners, which made me feel like more of a tourist than I needed to be. Other than that, the service was great. The drinks were great. The food . . . well, the food was not great. I tried to defend it when it came out. I said the Parmesan cheese probably just looked like it was out of a can, but was actually fresh. That was really all the defending I could do, though, as when I dug in to my pasta, I ran into clumped together noodles. I soon realized that my dish sat under a heat lamp for awhile while the boyfriend's was completed (yes, this is conjecture on my part). It was all fine, but it did not match our expectations. I have had better food at some of the chain restaurants, but I've also had worse. I'd probably try Fulio's again, but I'd want to go to some of the other fantastic restaurants that Astoria has to offer first.

We enjoyed an anniversary dinner here on the spur of the moment, and both my wife and I couldn't have been more pleased. The pasta dishes tasted freshly-made, the Caprese appetizer hit the mark, and the service was friendly and enjoyable. You really should do yourself a favor and try the Ravioli di Zucca. Dine with confidence!

We had reservations on Fathers Day, and when we arrived, there were few people. We ordered a simple appetizer, and three entrees. Several other people came in after us, and after 35 minutes, no appetizer. We asked about our good, as two tables seated after ours received their entrees before our appetizer, and then miraculously all of our entrees appeared, no appetizer. They were fair and removed the appetizer, but the timing was less than stellar. Food was good, tea was bad, and we're willing to try again. Not the Fathers Day Night out of our dreams.

Owner is a jerk. I ordered my food on the hour and asked at 30 after if it was coming soon. His flat reply "you came on a busy night". Jeez, sorry I didn't come on your slow day. I was starving so I stayed and it came out at 37 minutes after the hour. It was good, not great. I then noticed as I was paying the server charged me for bread even though it says on the menu it's free. She told me "yes, it's the owners policy to charge for it, even though it should be free". I asked back "why don't you say something instead of pulling one over on customers?". Her answer "I really need this job and I don't want to confront him". Not cool to keep your employees afraid of you.

We found this place to be expensive and the food quality didn't warrant that. The caprese salad was meh and surprisingly less in quantity. Restaurants in Carmel serve more !!! ( yes the uppity one near 17 mile drive) Pasta was ok.. We were famished when we came here and could have eaten anything, and still found it to be meh! The plus side , friendly service and good ambience .

I love Fulio's (rigatoni mustarde salsiccia for dayssss) but my last visit there was a little off.. I brought some friends in and had raved about the pasta so I was a little disappointed when my friend's minestrone came and it was straight up cold. Instead of heating it up, she was made to switch to a totally different soup. And this isn't that big of a deal, but the soup came in a Chinese restaurant rice bowl that was on a glass saucer. Huh? Not really fitting with the rest of the dinnerware or the fine dining atmosphere that Fulio's seeks to foster. The second disappointment were the bags of Lay's potato chips that came with my friends' sandwiches. Really? Fulio's isn't a grab and go spot so they should really be looking into stepping up their chip game.

You'd be a FOOL-io to eat at Fulio's. From the rude service, to the bland, straight-from-a-can-of-Chef-Boyardee food, this place has a thing or three to learn about Italian food and hospitality. Our waitress had an attitude problem from the start. We walked in, I said we had a reservation, and she rolled her eyes. "Did you make it online?" she asked. "The Owner is super old and doesn't have a clue with technology," she smirked. I'm still not sure why she had this reaction to me simply saying we had a reservation. The place was completely empty, so whether we had a reservation or not, it didn't really matter. No need to bad mouth the boss! We sat down, looked at our menus, and immediately, a different waitress comes over for drink orders. We said we needed a minute. Then, bad attitude waitress shows up for drinks, and we got a bottle of wine. She told us "You should really get this other bottle. The one you want is crap, and I don't want to sell you crap." Umm... okay... Why are you calling your own food/wine "crap"? Whatever, we took her recommendation and moved on. The same different waitress shows up trying to get our drink orders again, and we said we already gave them to another waitress. Flustered, she scooted away. Umm... communication, much? The place was nearly empty and every 3 minutes someone was in our faces. Truly annoying and super uncomfortable to constantly be interrupted. Now, the truly awful food. We got this sad bread, cheese, garlic... thing, drowning in a pool of cheese grease and olive oil. Bland and disgusting. My husband got the meat lasagna and I got the scampi. My husband's lasagna tasted exactly like some Chef Boyardee meets canned dog food concoction. Seriously, even the Olive Garden has better food than this. To top it off, it was soggy, greasy, and was clearly microwaved to a boiling mess before being messily dropped on his plate. My scampi was a sad pile of noodles with a whopping six over-cooked shrimp lining the plate. There was supposed to be a garlic wine sauce with some basil on it, but the noodles were dry, not fresh, and completely tasteless. We both ate 1/3 of our plates and begrudgingly took the rest home. For a $63 bill? We expected A LOT more out of this place. But then again, upon looking around, everyone in there was over 60 years old. Perhaps they're catering to worn out, baby taste buds. Upon paying the outrageous bill, rude waitress appears and asks us "Where are you guys staying?" We tell her that we live here in Astoria. She says "Oh! I thought you were tourists staying at The Cannery!" Okay, I still have no idea what this means, but her tone of voice indicated that this was some sort of insult or something. It's at this point we were pretty angry for leaving a 20% tip. In short, this place is utter crap. If you actually want good food and great service, hit up Astoria Coffeehouse, Fort George or Buoy Brewing. For half the cost you get super fresh, awesome food AND solid customer service.

It has been almost month since we tried this restaurant during an early anniversary weekend in Astoria. While we enjoyed much of what this city has to offer, I can only say that the thought of the amazingly poor service and subpar food still gives me heartburn. My wife and I do not expect much but we do expect our order to come out right (NO), to come out hot (NO) and to be checked on through our meal (NOPE). The waiter even had the gall to blame the kitchen for his error. I would be disinclined to ever darken this restaurant's doorway in the future. I would strongly recommend any of the several nice, friendly and well staffed brew pubs or Baked Alaska over this place. Thinking of having a good Italian dinner in Astoria? Then look elsewhere, this is not going to ever be my destination again. About the only thing right was the grilled caesar salad. Nice portions, tasty, and nice consistency. However, that is where it ended. My first pasta dish was some thin meat sauce when I ordered Alfredo. My chicken was some 3 ounce piece of embarrassing piece of meat. When the Alfredo finally did come out, I had finished my entree. The Alfredo pasta was undercooked and the sauce was watery thin. Yuck. To give the waiter a chance to redeem himself I ordered the tiramisu which was only OK probably a B- effort. I have had better and more authentic tiramisu at Cafe Monticassino in Forest Grove Or. My coffee came when we had already gotten up to leave. Geez!

Eh. I did not have high expectations because of the mixed yelp reviews. I would also like to add that we went to dinner here after an excruciating 3 day juice fast. So anything we would have eaten probably would have been the most delicious and amazing meal ever. We went in at 5pm on a Monday. Crickets. Nobody at the front. Nobody dining in the restaurant. But the music is playing and the lights were on. Kinda creepy. We looked at each other knowingly that this was not a good sign. Regardless we were STARVING. We ventured further in, looking for an employee. Finally found one and sat down. The waitress was kind of a smart ass but again, too hungry to care. We both ordered the infamous seared Caesar and Alfredo. We were given bread, or something resembling bread. It may have been bread 2 days ago but what we got was not good. The caesar...was weird. We ate it all and the dressing was great. But I think because it's marinated before searing, it made it this mushy wilty mess. Whatever, we ate it all. The Alfredo was pretty good. Not great. Not a huge portion either. But it hit the spot. We also ordered the tiramisu which was yummy but a suuuuper small portion only made to look normal sized because you're given teeny tiny baby spoons to eat it with (I see what u did there fulio) Will I be back? Eh. If I'm desperate for Italian, maybe. I can't believe I'm saying this but .. I would pick Olive Garden over this place any day.

while traveling thro town we stopped for dinner. we had a delicious feast. a big menu of seafood. we had a bucket of steamed clams so fresh they must have just been dug! fried oysters that were succulent with an unusual, light tomato sauce. the fried ceasar salad was delicious. the waitress was very accomodating and patient wt. my 6yr old grandson. the restaurant is comfortable and welcoming. i found it very clean and NO FRUIT FLIES!! the putanesca pasta was delicious!!!

My wife and I first noticed the tasteful and restful decor, a grade above most places hereabouts. The waitstaff is professional. No complaints. The food? You decide. My wife ordered Penne Putanesca. Putanesca sauce was made with black olives, not Kalamatas. A matter of taste perhaps but where we come from Kalamatas are a mandatory for authenticity. The onions and the garlic were well proportioned as were the anchovies and capers, but it was a mystery to us as to why the red pepper flakes were used as the main flavoring, rather than as an undertone the enhances the dish. The resultant "hot mouth" was appropriate for an Indian restaurant in Bombay. If that's what you like, go for it. My dish, Clams Linguine, was on the special. Plenty of claims. Yum. The linguine was nicely cooked. The sauce, classically wine based, seemed more likely to be from an incomplete draining of the pasta. OK, but nothing special. To be fair let it be noted that Fulio's replaced my wife's overly spiced Penne Putanesca. The result was, like the Clams Linguine, OK but nothing special. I would not judge a restaurant by two dishes served at a one-time visit. The ambiance and the decor bespeak of an establishment that is trying to do it right. Here's hoping they do. We'll be trying Fulios again, but not in the near future.

Excellent romantic night out! Candle-lit, romantic feel small bistro-setting restaurant. Great service with genuine recommendations from the servers. AMAZING food. I had the pasta rosa with zucchini and yellow squash, which was the perfect blend of hearty and light. My husband had the 10oz. sirloin with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. The potatoes were heavenly. A must GO!

Best Italian on the Northern Oregon Coast. Excellent atmosphere, great food, average prices. Staff is usually friendly, however probably not the best place if you have young kids. Made a reservation and showed up with 3 young kids and for some reason, couldn't find our reservation. We made it online and the response we received was well' we don't check the online reservation book sometimes ' . there were plenty of tables available at the time of our arrival, so maybe it was overbooked..........or not, anyways a great place if you're looking for great food and nice relaxing atmosphere. Try the seared caesar, love it! Unfortunately haven't been back, maybe someday, probably a date night with the better half, no kids!

I had the ravioli and it was delicious. The service was very good too -- friendly and fast. I would go here again if I ever find myself in Astoria.

I love Fulios! Three must haves are the seared Caesar Salad, Eggplant Parmesan, and Rigatoni Salsa Rosa. The food is consistently yummy, and I try to eat here every time I am nearby.

Cute little place. The owner stayed open one night when we came calling at the door. We had just gotten into Astoria from Seattle and it hit the spot to eat there.

What a great place- The family and I stumbled upon this place after a long day of stress driving and Goonie filled Astoria fun. It had been about 12 hours since we'd eaten anything that didn't come out of a gas station and we were looking for someplace to make some memories. This place was it. The service was outstanding- our waiter was catering to several late night diners (around 930pm) and we never felt ignored or like we were putting him out- just a really salt of the earth guy. The food was very good too- We started with the Piatti di Oliva and Spedini apps and were blown away- the entrees were good- the family was much more impressed than I was but it was very good- it's hard to impress and East Coast Italian boy with Italian food- but everything was very good- presentation, taste, price. If I was in Boston I would give this place 3 stars, but in Astoria, this is a 5 star place. We got a lot for not much price- were treated like family and it's a night that my family and I will remember for a long long time.

Yelp saves the day again! What did we do before Yelp and smartphones? On a weekend trip to Oregon, drove through Astoria around lunchtime. Upon Yelp's helpful suggestion, went directly to Fulio's. Pleasantly surprised at the nice decor, great service, delicious food and extremely reasonable lunch pricing. I had the meat lasagna (yum!) and the hubster had spaghetti con salciccia. We were nbth were more than happy with our choices and glad to get back on the road with happy stomachs. Recommend!

Stopped here on our way home from Seaside..thanks to yelp we found this phenomenal restaurant! Nice, cozy setting and the food was fantastic! Perfect salmon and eggplant parmigiana was the best ever! Great find in Astoria, OR...5 stars!

Yum! Recommended by a friend and after reading the Yelp postings - I ordered the sausage & mustard wide tube pasta. Totally addicting. I ate it so slow, but it still all disappeared. Atmosphere is a bit odd with clown dolls sitting on top of furniture (not a fan of clowns), but all in all a pretty great meal. Service was excellent & prices were right.

We have been here four or five times and usually prefer to eat lunch here, but this past weekend stopped for dinner and had a wonderful experience. The fresh bread is just yummy and they keep it coming. There pollo marsalla was awesome with garlic mash potatoes as well as grilled asparagus. The chicken parmagian was the best we tried in a long time. This is a wonderful place, a little pricey, but well worth it, great atmosphere and we had a wonderful waitress. We really enjoyed the relaxed pace and environment.

Whenever my wife and I are in Astoria, we go to Fulio's Pastaria. One thing to note; we've only gone during the dinner offerings so we've had no experience with their lunch service. My wife and I are creatures of habit. If we get a dish at a restaurant and it's delicious, we more often not only get that dish from then on. That being said, there is one dish that we believe is the best tasting ravioli we've EVER had: the ravioli di Zucca. Here's the description from the menu: "Butternut squash and Gorgonzola cheese ravioli in a curried cream sauce." The curry sauce that accompanies the ravioli is so unique and intensely flavorful. Our second favorite dish is the spaghetti with pesto and crab. The atmosphere is quite nice inside the restaurant, being Italian themed of course. Whenever we've went, there was Italian music being played. Service has always been great for us. Every time that we have went, we've had the same really nice male server. He even did a little trick with a wrapper from a candy when we told him we were there for our first year wedding anniversary. The price is $$, ranging from around $12 to $18 a dish during dinnertime. We love Fulios! In fact, it's our favorite Italian restaurant. My wife talks about the butternut squash on a somewhat weekly basis; it's that memorable. We very much recommend checking Fulios out if you're staying in Astoria or traveling through.

Staff was friendly but I was disappointed in the food. Sauce was on the sweet side, raviolis a bit dry and the fish was half moist and half dry?!?!?! We'll skip this one next time we're in town.

We were so disappointed by this establishment. We read the reviews on Yelp and decided to give Fulio's a try for the "All you can eat" clam night. We arrived around 6:00 p.m. and asked if we "had reservations". We didn't but the hostess said it was "OK, but there are no longer any clams". We decided to stay for dinner anyway and were seated,. All around us patrons were enjoying clams. It is extremely unsettling to arrive fairly early for a dinner meal and the special is not an option. My husband ordered veal and I shrimp scambi. The veal was $20.00, the shrimp $16.00. My shrimp consisted of 6 medium prawns in a garlic tomato sauce with three aspargus spears. Bread was offered but was forgotton and arrived late, a small plate of bread is an additional $2.00. The veal parmesan was good but came with mashed potatoes which is an odd combination in my opinion. The price of the meal is ridiculous, I have been to restaurants where soup, salad, bread were all included in the meal and still not cost this much. We will NEVER be back.

One of the worst dining experiences I've had. Dinner and service were mediocre but pricey. The restaurant was nearly empty but they didn't seat folks without reservations that came 5 minutes after us at 5 o'clock. Even the bathroom was out of toilet paper and had urine on one of the seats... But the worst part was the tiramisu. I've had better grocery store economy brand from the freezer. It was outright disgusting. And when we complained nothing.

My wife, daughter, and I were on vacation to Portland and the Oregon coast. My wife was looking forward to the food on the trip and assumed that the best food would be found during our time in Portland. Little did we anticipate what awaited us in Astoria. After a long, windy, and rainy day cruising the stores up and down one of the main streets in Astoria, we found ourselves ready for dinner. We could all agree on Italian so we walked into Fulio's. At first, I was a little put off by the prices, not that they were outrageous, but just because I wasn't in the mood to spend what I was seeing. I guess I was approaching dinner with the idea of take out counter service eaten at the hotel but, thankfully, my wife had other ideas. She wanted to sit down and she wanted to be served. Who am I to argue? I settled on the butternut and gorgonzola squash ravioli with a curry cream sauce. WOW!! It was easily one of the best things to ever have passed through my lips. I couldn't keep the smile off my face. The color of the meal was a visual delight and the combination of the gorgonzola, butternut and curry was just amazing. Topping it off was the amazing aroma of the curry. I motioned the waiter over and asked him to relay a message to the chef about how happy he'd made one diner that day; that it was one of the best meals I'd ever had. Turns out, my wife's fetuccini alfredo was just as good. I simply had to take the leftovers home. The next night at home, I gently warmed the leftover ravioli, closed my eyes, ate, and was delighted once more. Fulio's Pataria is a winner. If you're in Astoria, don't miss it. I almost forgot to mention, the presentation was so nice, I took a pic and sent it to my best friend to make him jealous. It worked.

5 for the great wine. 3 for the average food. My wife and I have been here twice. Once just for wine and once for a full meal. Both times we have been impressed with the quality of the wine. And at ~$6-7 a glass it is fairly reasonable. Our only real issue was the steak we ordered. We ordered it medium, and it did in fact come cooked medium, warm and red in the center. However, I don't think medium includes a coating of black char coving the entire piece of meat. Even after cutting off the char the inside had very little flavor. For $20 you expect to get a steak that was prepared with a little TLC. Fail. They should get rid of the "Tuscan Steakhouse" side of the business and just focus on the Italian food. If you do go, order the spedini.

One of the best Italian joints I've been to in a long time. The menu ranges from very simple Italian staples to some creative but classy dishes. Service was great, the seared Caesar salad was different and tasty, the wine list was pretty balanced with some inexpensive/delicious options, the Butternut squash ravioli was amazing and the vibe was what you would want in an Italian place. As far as Astoria goes, I think this is the best place. Everywhere else, with the exception of the Columbian Cafe, is a bit of a disappointment.

I came here while visiting Astoria a couple weeks ago and the food was amazing. The atmosphere is very classy and the service is wonderful as well. Some of the best fettuccine I've ever tasted. Prices are about average. I didn't expect such great food from such a small, hole in the wall place. It's cozy!

Fulio's is firmly in the decent to good range when it comes to Italian Food. But... there are two items on the menu that are a must have. Neither is found at any other Italian restaurant that I've ever been at. Both are worth the hour plus drive from Portland to Astoria. Both make you go "This is Italian? No....! This is Italian?" "Rigatoni Salsa Rosa - Yellow squash and zucchini in a rosy cream sause with large tube pasta." and "Rigatoni Mustarde Salsiccia - A spicy mustard and sausage cream sause with large tube pasta." On the face of it, both sound kind of nasty. As such they're not among the more popular dishes, which is a huge disservice. The flavors of both dish combine so well that you'll seriously considering ordering a second plate. I once took a party of four for dinner here, and all walked out with an extra order of the Mustarde Salsiccia to go. Half of those orders didn't even make it home back to Portland. I have "accidentally" found myself in Astoria just so I could visit Fulio's to dive into one of these dishes. I have lied to my wife about where I was, just so she wouldn't get jealous about me stopping here by myself. "No dear... I'm not at Fulio's... I'm with a prostitute! I swear! " Based on these two dishes alone, I believe Fulio's could easily compete in Portland, Seattle or SF. In Astoria, it's a stand out in an area geared towards gathering tourist dollars. Before discovering Fulio's, a trip to the Coast was a concession to fast food breakfast at Pig'N'Pancakes, wieners grilled over an open camp fire, or worse fate of all, being condemned to eat nothing but fresh caught seafood. If you're a resident of Astoria, Fulio's should be on your weekly rotation just for these meals. If you're a tourist and only in Astoria for a day or two, Fulio's should be on your list at least once. If you're a Portlander, Fulio's is a great excuse to get out of the city and realize that there are culinary delights only a short drive away.

As others have said, the food, service, decor, and ambiance are all excellent. Even though the staff was surprised by an unexpected party of eleven on an already busy night, they were attentive to all and the meal was paced well. Our appetizer, the "Melanzana di Pisa", was a delicious mingling of fried eggplant, goat cheese, pesto, tomato, and olive tapanade--ample for two. Entrees were generous and delicious, and I really liked being able to choose between an alfredo and a marinara sauce for the side of pasta that accompanied my veal. Now that I know how good the chef is, I want to go back and try some of the more inventive dishes on the menu. Nice wine list. Everything is well-priced and of high quality.

I'm not paying $2 for bread.. Period. We ordered: rosemary chic, lamb chops and puttanesca with rock shrimp. The puttanesca tasted like canned stewed Italian tomatoes with olives and capers with penne pasta- tangy just like out of a can...I ate the the shrimp. Our daughter had the lamb chops; fatty and tough, no flavor with a brown sauce that was hardly edible. It was the worst she had ever ordered! The Italian soda was nasty! The chix was very rare at the bone.. No happy, happy tastebuds and very slow service. I had 3 G&Ts to forget this crappy meal. I should of stayed home and cooked a stellar meal.. For $118- I could have worked magic! Sorry Peter, it's over. Stick a fork in me, I'm done with spending my money here. On a positive note, the flys were entertaining......

This place failed from start to finish. Walking in the door to be 'seated' an older man briskly grabbed two menus walked away from us, threw them on a table and kept walking, never looking back. We sat for 20 minutes without a server before asking the young woman serving water if we could have someone take our order. We almost walked out after 10 minutes of still no response but just then the same water girl came and took our order (she was nice and competent). It was very strange as there was a server attentively waiting on the table next to us but completely ignoring us. The food was fine, you cant really screw up vegetarian lasagna, though even I can make a better one at home, The caprese salad was terrible, just a dried out scoop of cheese on unripe tomatoes. We couldnt wait to get out of there, we did not feel welcome or taken care of. It took a bit longer though since the server was too busy texting to give us a our check until we gave him our credit card and told him we were ready to go. We just moved to town and have found some true gems here in Astoria, but Fulios is one we will never go back to.

I freaking adore this place. I've been here a few times, and every time I come...I wonder why I don't come more often. Boyfriend and I went last night...we were sat at a huge booth in front of the window. This place had wonderful ambiance. If you're looking for REAL Italian food in Clatsop County, this is the place to go. I've had pasta every time I've been, and am never disappointed. Penne Arrabiata is one of my favs...not as spicy as you'll find it other places though. Their home made meat balls are to die for. One thing you HAVE to have when you go is the Spedini. It's like a brilliant bruschetta, lathered in delicious oils, tomatoes and garlic with pieces of buffalo mozzarella cheese in between. I crave this when I am not here. Service is always friendly and attentive (which can be real hit and miss in Astoria). Our waiter last night was especially wonderful. He was professional, classy and extremely attentive but not invasive. He seemed to really take pride in the restaurant. If you're visiting Astoria, be sure to stop by Fulio's!

This review is only for the caesar salad. I stopped here after a long day of day of monitoring a JCC and found perhaps the best Caesar Salad I have ever had. The dressing was perfection. The romaine fresh and crisp; the parmesan grated and fine the way it should be. No bulky croutons to weigh this salad down, instead the chef uses toasted and buttered bread shavings. Again pure perfection or should i say pure heaven. Stop in for a bite, if the caesar salad is any indication of this chef's talents you'll be in culinary heaven.

The Spicy Marinara Sauce is out of this world in terms of classy Italian food. This is a great place for any type of dinner - impressing a date, drinking with a friend, or taking your family out to dinner. The owner, former Vice Admiral Roscoe, is an amazing host and nobody should ever let an opportunity slip to dine here. Thanks from the Phi Gam men at University of Oregon!

Saturday night in the winter in Astoria, good for a food crawl. And I have to admit to my biases around American Italian food: it can be very good or very bad, but it's rarely Italian food. That said, there are standards. Service is one place to start. When the server approaches your table like a cyclone, talks loudly and rapidly, completes your sentences for you, throws your food on the table and disappears, it's not good service. Two stars for service. When I try a new Italian place, I'll have something new and something old. For something new, we went with grilled vegetables, which were very good. For something old, I like to see what a place does with their red sauce, either the Ragu or tomato sauce. We went with one of each, I had the spaghetti and tomato sauce with meatballs, she had the spaghetti with Ragu. First off, the pasta that arrived was not spaghetti, it was the much heavier linguini. Some may feel that pasta is pasta, but eating a delicate spaghetti is a much different experience than a stout pasta. Next, the sauces: the tomato sauce had a very watery, bland, unintegrated taste, as if it had been prepared right before being served rather than hours or days before. The Ragu committed the Cardinal Sin of American Italian food: cayenne. Cayenne does not belong in Italian food. Period. We left most of our meal uneaten. A comment on something that struck me as odd: the menu had a paper stuck in it that had a very long explanation saying that bread and olive oil would now be 75 cents instead of being free. I'm sure there's a background story there, but really....that's an odd way to start one's dining experience. Maybe OK at the local pizza/burger joint, but unexpected at a restaurant that claims to be the best Italian food between San Francisco and Seattle. Not too much else to say here. Oh, yes, there is: Astoria is not undeserving of high quality food. There are very good, unique, quality restaurants in Astoria, as there are in most sizable towns on the Oregon coast.

We walked in and watched the woman doing set-up on the tables for a few moments. She saw us walk in but decided it was more important to do set up than greet customers to her establishment. I assume it was her establishment as I was sure it was her likeness on the sandwich board underneath the jester cap I just saw outside. So we caught her eye and asked it we could read a menu. As my adult daughter reached for it, she came over immediately and mumbled something we don't know what as she reached for the menu. And we are never going to know what because guess what? We walked right out. Fulio's, it just pasta, okay? Noodles, cooked in water covered in different sauces. That's what you do. No need for attitude.

I wish their "specials" actually changed like a normal restaurant instead they are the same specials for years in end. Not much variety there. Ive been here multiple times in hopes that things changed. However im pretty darn sure the butternut squash ravioli with curry sauce has been on the special list every single time ive gone in and I can get the same ravioli and sauce at costco.

Went here with some family and were very pleased. The rib eye steak was one of the best steaks I have had at a restaurant in a long time. It had that charcoal grilled flavor, along with being cooked exactly how I wanted, which was medium rare. My wife had the fettucine alfredo with chicken and mushrooms, and it was delicious. So many at restaurants are too garlicky, or have too much parsley. This version was very good. We ordered the bread with olive oil and balsamic. there was too much olive oil to get through to get to the balsamic. Also the oil and vinegar wasn't seasoned with any herbs or salt and pepper. there is salt and pepper on the table, but some herbs would be a nice touch and a bit more balsamic and less oil. We ordered the charred caesar salad, and it was a different and delicious treat that we would have again. It would be nice if the core at the bottom of the lettuce was removed before serving. Other than that it was great. Will return again, especially to try the AYCE Steamers!!

It's my first time to Fulio's Pastria. What struck me most when I arrived is the decorating - I loved the decor! I had a fabulous meal and would love to come back!

After a beautiful day in Astoria, we chose to try an Italian restaurant for dinner...knowing it was risky...after all, this is Astoria, not Portland. We were pleasantly surprised by Fulio's. Though it isn't authentic by any means, it does have a great atmosphere and friendly service. The food is ok but not great...with one exception and I'll get to that in a minute...I had an appetizer for my meal, a small "tower" of portabella, eggplant, mozzarella (house made, I believe) and roma tomato. Probably should have been served warmer and, perhaps, less olive oil. I had a glass of chianti which I did not finish..you get what you pay for. My dinner partner had chicken parm with a side of pasta. The sauce was fresh although everything needed seasoning. We shared a bread plate of La Brea Italian bread. For $2 it's a good buy. It is not served warm or crisp but is fresh. By far, the best was dessert. The server suggested a small scoop of maple and pancetta homemade ice cream to share. It was fantastic!!! It was easily as good as a scoop at Salt and Straw. Though this isn't an eclectic Portland type restaurant, it certainly isn't chef Boyardi in a can.

Astoria is resplendent with fine eateries. Not fine in the sense of "refined" but fine in the sense of "great" little restaurants. Given the size of this little out of the way village, you would do yourself a disservice not to spend quality time investigating the plethora of fine "great" eating experiences available here. Fulio's is an unassuming restaurant tucked away on the main street serving quality Tuscan fare concentrating on fresh ingredients prepared just the way you would expect to find in towns such as Lucca or Florence in Tuscany. The service is efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. This is such a relief after trying a multitude of faux Tuscan places that believe pasta on a plate is all that is needed to market themselves as Italian. I have enjoyed the Puttanesca, Bistec, and several of their salads and without a notion of complaint. Do yourself a favor and give this place a shot. It'll save you the airfare to Italy and you'll not be able to tell the difference.

What happened to you Fulio's!!??? You used to be my favorite restaurant in all of Astoria but after the last two experiences I'm sad to say I won't be back. From my observation the owner definitely sets the tone. He always seems rushed and the employees follow his lead. The food is good but getting smaller portions these days. It's heart breaking to see the decline in what was once a gem. I wish one of those restaurant rescue shows would come in and give the owner a dose of reality. We made reservations this time since last time we didn't and that was such a bad experience we walked out after being treated rudely by the owner. So when we arrived this time with reservations the first thing out of his mouth was "your early" not welcome, we're getting a table ready for you and will seat you shortly. This used to be a 5 star rating in my opinion and now I just don't want to be treated like a nuisance when I dine so we will sadly not return.

The casual atmosphere of the wait staff was pleasant but at the same time they were very observant and checked in frequently. We had a few cocktail and enjoyed the antipasto di carne and steak was delicious. Will probably make another stop to try the pasta.

It is needlessly expensive. We had caprese salad and some pasta. The salad had three pieces of tomato (the cheap ones), mozarella, and basil in some vinaigrette. It didnt come with bread which is the norm in most places (had to be bought separately). The pasta was bland and appeared to be a mix of pasta and cheese, and little of anything else.

More 3.5, but it's not outrageously great so it's getting the three. Whatever you do, you should order the spedini, which I'll post a photo of at some point. It's delicious. The sauce bites back with capers and garlic and vinegar, soaks into the bread and makes even the somewhat sub-par bread they give you before dinner tasty. Skip the olives...you've had better elsewhere, trust me. The ravioli di zucca is where it's at unless the have cream of chantrelle soup during the fall, then you might just have that, because it's that good. Pastas are ok, not outstanding. It's a good enough choice if you're in Astoria, pretty much on a par with a lot of the other options available.

We were on a recent trip and were lucky enough to stop by Fulio's one night. We started with the caprese, our usual appetizer. Good tomatoes, good mozzarella, the basil was done in the shredded style. I prefer full leaves, myself, and am always somewhat puzzled when a place skimps on the basil, but it might be a style issue -- I've seen other restaurants do this as well. Certainly it tasted good. My wife had the Spagetti Ragu -- a simple enough pasta and meat sauce. Strong, robust flavor. I had the Spagetti a' "Piccolo Mondo", described in their menu as, "String noodles with pine nuts, pancetta, pesto and crab." I'm not sure how it's "Piccolo Mondo," unless (after a quick google) this is a tribute to the restaurant Piccolo Mondo in Chicago? As may be, for a shot-in-the-dark choice, I enjoyed this a lot. I've commented before (cf. Harris Ave Cafe in Bellingham, WA) how balance in a long list of ingredients can impress me. This did that, with a nice sense of the crab first on your tongue, without taking away from the other flavors. We had the tiramisu for dessert. Nicely soaked in the liqueur they used. Price came to $55 with tip (it's Oregon, so no tax -- bonus!), so $27.50 for each of us, all in. To Kris W., and their comment, "...pretty much on a par with a lot of the other options available." Really? Do tell. Who do you have in mind? Because I used to travel 50,000 miles a year throughout this country, have always eaten well, and think Fulio's would be a credit to any city. If there are *even better* options near by, then Astoria is a gastronomic capital. Please be specific; I'm genuinely curious to know. ETA: For the fellow with the cayenne aversion -- if I can find cayenne as an ingredient in Maria Gentile's cookbook from 1919, and also as an ingredient in "Il cucchiaio d'argento" more recently... Then, that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

This was one of my bosses favorite places to eat so I came here about once a month when I lived in Astoria. They were pretty good, I just got tired of the limited menu. Expensive but since I wasn't paying, I'm not complaining. Really good seared salad aka Seared Insalata di Cesare, never had it before mmm with the parmesan crisps. Always got the Rigatoni Salsa Rosa and the Ravioli di Zucca. YUM. Also good appetizers and mouth watering house bread served hot first thing. We had a favorite waiter (Andy?? I'm bad with names) he had tattoos..anyway super nice and humorous. I like the fact that it's family owned. Good for kids when you get the private room in the back. It'd be nice to return to this Italian Pastaria, when Olive Garden just isn't cutting it!

This place sends a very mixed message. First impression, the decor is beautiful. It's like you stepped into a bistro right off the streets of Tuscany.... Next you have a nice glass of wine, browse over the impressive menu.... and wait for something authentic...that's where the illusion ends. The salads were good... but the Steamer Clams were terrible... absolutely no flavor... When we got to the bottom of the bowl, we found a single slice of garlic and that was it. The lasagna was average. When the sturgeon fillet arrived I was able to admire the serving plate because I definitely saw more plate than food. I was wondering if I was getting prepped for another course when I realized that this small display was actually my main course. Local owner Peter Roscoe had a great vision.. but it ended in the kitchen.

We came here for dinner on a Thursday evening. Thursdays are "all you can eat clams" nights... tempting. The boyfriend and I love clams, but did not necessarily need all the clams that we could eat, so we opted for an appetizer-size order instead. Clams are not on the appetizer menu, but they will definitely make it happen for you. I think it was $11 or so. After taking our order, our server asked if we'd like some bread and olive oil/ balsamic. We said sure, and although we didn't mind paying the $1.75, we didn't know there was a charge. Bread wasn't the best, and since I don't "have to" have bread with my meals, I wouldn't order it again. We overheard a server telling another guest that due to the high prices of olive oil, etc... they were no longer offering it for free. Fair enough. Our server (really nice European woman) brought our "appetizer" and I just started laughing- it was HUGE. I hesitate to mention this, because it seemed as though it was either a mistake, or we'd gotten the ultimate hook-up, but either way they were DELICIOUS. Seriously, the bowl was huge and our server had to empty our bowl-for-shells twice. Huge. Definitely more than 2 pounds, probably more than 3. HUGE. I had ordered the butternut squash with gorgonzola cheese raviolis covered in a cream sauce for my dinner. I also had a glass of pinot grigio (the dryer of the two choices) which paired nicely with my meal. These ravioli's, along with everything else there, were made from scratch, and they were delicious. Boyfriend ordered a pasta dish of long pasta, pancetta, crab, pine nuts, and pesto... also delicious. For desert (yes, we were gluttons) we ordered the tiramisu, which was also good- not the BEST I've had, but they definitely got it right. All in all we had a really lovely evening. We sat right by the front window, so I didn't get a good look at the entire place, but it seemed really cute. Server was very friendly, knowledgable, and accommodating. The prices were fair. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Astoria.

This is a large, well-furnished and extraordinary restaurant. Located on Commercial street in Astoria, this 2-part deli and Pastaria is an excellent blend of Italian and local cuisine. Succulent pasta entrees are served right alongside sturgeon caught just the day before. Sporting an extensive menu combined with great service, this restaurant is a great choice for every person, whether you're a native or a traveler.

The Fettuccine Alfredo with rock shrimp was awesome! The pasta was great, the service was great and the turnaround was quick. I'm from New Jersey and this was great Italian food.

One of our favorite restaurants on the coast. Truly great Italian food. Do try the grilled Caesar salad! Its a surprise. We enjoy the ambiance, the staff is great, and Peter (the owner) is usually there with suggestions for your meal. Nice wine list and reasonably priced.

My time at Fulios was nothing short of incredible. Astoria truly has some amazing restaurants and Fulios falls right into that category. It's small, friendly atmosphere and the food rivals restaurants of higher class. You will have a wonderful time here. I recommend 2 things, if you like steak, you have to get the fillet. Best steak I have had in a long time. If you want pasta, get the butternut squash ravioli. Yes I know it sounds weird, but its out of this world and there is nothing else like it. If you can't, get both :) the fillet with a side of butternut. Incredible! The also have normal Italian cuisine there, which is good, but try what I just listed and you will go home happy.

Ambience is fine. Dinner salad was very good. We had lasagna and it was good but lacked some seasoning that would have made it truly Italian. We did not like the deceptiveness we encountered when the waiter asked if we would like some bread and balsamic with olive oil. When we asked if that came with the entree we were told no,"but it is only $2". We would not go back.

After some wandering about the streets of Astoria trying to decide where to go for dinner, we settled on this little Italian place. Cute place and we got a window table. The food is eh okay. It is what it is. I had spaghetti with ragu sauce. When it arrived, I found the amount of sauce to be a little minimal so I asked for more, which helped. It tasted fine, nothing extraordinary or better than I could do. My boyfriend's lasagna was fine, again, nothing great. I think there are better eats in Astoria and I'm pretty sure you can find better than what I experienced at Fulio's but if you're left with not too many options on a weeknight and you're ok with mediocre American style Italian, go for it.

Wonderful experience, the last review by L.A. pretty much sums up our experience... so read that for the details. But, I wanted to chime in and say that my meal (especially the fact that I ate 1000 clams) was the best one I have had in a while. Service was outstanding, my pasta was fresh and delicious, and the tiramisu was great too. Pro Tip! Don't go to a Italian place that makes homemade food and order spaghetti and marinara sauce... get something you couldn't make yourself for $3.

We stopped in here when we failed to be noticed by a server while we were standing around at Clemente's down the street. We ordered a squash ravioli dish and a pesto linguine with crab dish. Both were delicious! The complimentary appetizer bread was yummy and the balsamic vinaigrette & olive oil for dipping was the best I've ever had! The only quibble I had with this place was the background music. It was all over the place, ranging from melodramatic Italian opera to soft rock to country. It's like they loaded CDs from a bunch of different styles and hit "shuffle."

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
