What a spectacular treat! We were driving through Ashland, looking for a place for the night (with no reservations anywhere - an impromptu trip!) We looked through every "LGBT-friendly" guide we could find, and none of the places listed answered their phones. Nervous about being in Southern Oregon and not knowing the environment, we tentatively stepped into Shrew's House because they had a "vacancy" sign posted. We were greeted warmly by Corren and Ronna, given a choice of several rooms, and immediately felt at ease and embraced by these wonderful hosts. Within a few minutes, I felt like I was talking with family. The rate was really reasonable, and breakfast - BREAKFAST??!! That was like something out of a dream. A dream about eating. A dream about eating a LOT OF FOOD. :-) I would go back to Shrew's House any time, and will definitely recommend them to my friends and family. Thank you Corren and Ronna!

very welcoming host, Rony. thank you. The breakfast was very good and organic. but our barocco rom was not smelling good inside. and all the amenities are kind of all and not quite clean, we had the impression. the pool was not quite clean either, it didn't look appealing for us.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The place is .4 of a mile from the theaters on a mostly flat walk; we got lazy and drove into town a couple of days because it was pretty warm out. Ashland parking is pretty easy so it's not a big deal. Our room was good (a little dark, as Alex mentioned on his review, but very big, with a big bathroom, a comfortable mattress, nice sheets). It's nice to have a private entrance, and the porch was convenient when Roger the extremely friendly poofball kitty decided to visit us. (Don't worry, he's not allowed in the rooms.) The owners, Ronna & Corren, are our kind of people; we've dithered over doing hotel vs. B&B because B&B owners can be kind of, uh, obsessed with rules, but these guys are the total opposite of that. Not that we gave them any trouble, of course, but you know how sometimes you go to a B&B and the first thing you get is a 15-minute lecture on what not to touch...? Not an issue here at all. Minor ding: Free wireless internet is promised but it's sporadic towards the edge of the property where our room was; I hate when that happens. We'd stay here again. Friendly sans fascist goes a hell of a long way in this biz.

We had a very nice stay at Shrew's House. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. We stayed in the Baroque room which was almost perfect with a very comfortable king-sized bed, a fireplace, and large bathroom with hot-tub and bubble bath soaps. There is a private entrance and a nice porch with a cute table and chair set. Ronna and Corren are absolutely splendid hosts; perhaps the most friendly and considerate B&B hosts I have ever met. Their positive natures, acceptance of all points of view, and willingness to make your visit a good one are all wonderful. Oh,and their cat Roger is one of the most friendly cats you will ever meet. Only minor down-sides to this B&B which is located right on Siskiyou Blvd about a 10minute walk from everything. Their is a mini-fridge in the Baroque room and it is located fairly near the bed. Am I the only one who finds listening to a fridge in the bedroom annoying? Other nit pick - the room was bit dark. Even when the sun was at it's peak, the room just would not light up. The breakfasts were very good - I especially loved the fruit and granola that they put together... I wish I could have that every morning! Price: very affordable for a B&B in Ahsland. The house has a small pool and very nice grounds. Overall, a fantastic place to stay in Ashland. Highly recommended.

Had a great time, good breakfasts. The owners were really friendly and sat and chatted during breakfast. Loved having the pool also. Our room was the Garden room it was nice w/ a sink, mini fridge and microwave. It also had a whirlpool tub in the room that I used everyday. There is a back alley right behind the b&b that goes all the way up to the theaters if you don't wanna walk along the main street.

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon for a couple nights, and wished we could stay longer! Corrin and Ronna are just wonderful people. We stayed in the Ashland room, and it was perfect. Corrin makes a delicious breakfast and they have great tips for what to explore in and around Ashland. We highly recommend the Shrew's House, and will continue to stay there when we are in town.

I love breakfast. I wish I had time to eat a nice big breakfast every day. In my daily hustle and bustle, it's a matter of grabbing something on the go. But when I am on vacation, I like a nice, big, tasty breakfast. Like the ones served at the Shrew's House. Fresh fruit, granola, gourmet sausages ... all just the beginning. Their breakfast creations are unique and delicious. Since everything is made from scratch they can accommodate most dietary needs, just let them know. And it's not just a great breakfast. Each room is unique and well laid out. We stayed in "The Ashland". I took full advantage of the claw-footed soaking tub in our bathroom, while my son curled up in the recliner and watched TV (yeup, there's cable TV with no annoying hotel channels to skip over). The bed was comfy and there were plenty of pillows. My son thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the pool. (Not big - but plenty big enough to get wet!) You really get the B&B feel with a touch of hominess, too. Every room also has a private, direct-dial phone. You get an off-street parking spot. And finally, each room has a private entrance with a patio - a great place to sit, enjoy the fresh air, and unwind.

Yes...I am biased because I know the owners but... in my personal opinion... I stayed here for 2 nights whilst helping their daughter move up because she is one of my best friends! I couldn't believe all the beautiful themed rooms and all the attention to detail. I stayed in the "Kates" room. Lots of pillows. a clean bathroom, and a beautiful view of the garden and access to the patio in back and the pool. The breakfast was delicious! Corrin the chef does a wonderful job of using only the finest ingredients and its usually all organic ingredients. Also~ they are planting a veggie garden in the back. Its very cozy in the dinning room and it feels like your eating in someones home. The Shrews house is close to down town, and there is a safeway across the street incase you have any craving in the middle of the night. ;)
