Good, cheap, and quick place to grab lunch. The peanut sauce is great. If you're in a rush or don't want to spend more than $5, head to Bento's. There's some shared outdoor seating or you can take your meal down to the creek to eat.

OWNER: MAKE MORE EGGPLANT SPECIAL, make it EVERY DAY. WHY are you missing out on such a great opportunity, you always sell out, its 10x better than anything else on the menu! So, this is a positive review - I think the food is well priced and good for lunch.

Customer service was good - I called before going in, and was pleasantly surpsrised, because I've had a lot of bad customer service experience in downtown Ashland. Chiken over rice with teryaki sauce was yummy - will definitely have it again. The place is dingy and very small, there is only enough room to order your food, but who cares when you can eat right out in Lithia Park across the street?... Prices are very decent for this area, and food is ready to go, so it's super-fast to order, pay and eat.

Secret $3 lunch option by the park. You'd never even notice it. Bao with brown rice please.

Super cheap lunch. Rice with stuff on top and sauce. Nice if you really like rice, or are on a tight budget. Steamed buns were the same ones I get frozen at any Asian market.

Yikes. Not sure how this got 4 stars on Yelp. I can't think of a positive thing to say about the place. This place is literally a hole in the wall - only two people fit inside to order. You must take it to go or sit outside on plastic chairs. The chicken potstickers were mushy, not pan-fried, and only had teriyaki sauce, not any special pot sticker sauce. The chicken bento itself was precooked, sitting in a steamer, not very hot, nor flavorful. You could do better at virtually any other restaurant in Ashland.

Bento East is the shit. You want the best lunch for the lowest price? Done. Want a trendy atmosphere and world class cuisine? Walk on. This whole in the wall will still have the best peanut sauce and bento around.

Best bento in the valley.. If you are looking for fast teriyaki and a bao or pot sticker this is the place to go. Quick and delicious!

Best "fast" food in Ashland. Only like $6 for a big huge lunch that will fill you up! Only outside seating or to-go options but really really delicious.

This tiny restaurant on Granite Street serves light lunches that are inexpensive and tasty. Mostly protein and starch, there are spicy veggie potstickers and a tofu plate, Generally we get the chicken or pork filled steamed buns (dim sum) but the teriyaki chicken plate is good if you want a more substantial meal. A porch fronting the restaurant has picnic tables and benches for eating under shelter but in the open air. The adjoining sandwich shop has been replaced by a tea shop that shares the porch seating.

My family of five stops here every year on our way home from Lake Shasta. Its always worth the stop.

Inexpensive and delicious, especially if you are on a tight budget. It's a great way to get a nutritious and full meal. I love the peanut sauce tofu on brown rice. The place only excepts cash and there is only outside seating on the porch. The gentleman that prepares the food is always very kind and fast! Yes, it is a hole in the wall., but I think it adds a certain charm.

I've grown up in the area and never tire of Bento. Rice, chicken, and pot stickers are my favorite. The place is just a small hole in the wall but that only adds to it's greatness. The prices are good 5 50 for rice and chicken which you can add teriyaki, peanut sauce, soy sauce, sweet and sour, or a spicy red sauce at your choosing. $2.00 for a thing of 4 pot stickers and a dollar for a soda makes this place a favorite for our budgeted students.

This is by far the best Bento in i've tried, probably better than the ones where i live (los angeles). the first think that u need to try is the PEANUT SAUCE !! Its a MUST !! Then u add the other stuff !! yummm

I get on a Bento East kick once in a while and will eat here 2-3 times a week. I love their peanut sauce. I usually get chicken bento with it. I haven't really tried anything else. It's one of the cheaper eats in Ashland and you can get and take it to the park on a nice day. Literally a whole in the wall.

This is my new favorite lunch place. Beef kabob was tender and tasty. The pork bao as good as I've ever had. I wouldn't get the pot stickers again - way too gummy, but it was a great meal for 2 people for only $13

Great little bento place, better than many i've been to elsewhere. Simple food, well executed. No space to stand inside, more like a food cart, really. Grab a meal and hit the park. Perfect summertime lunch, great year round.

Tasty cheap eats, can't beat it in this part of town. I would give an extra star if their gyoza weren't so squishy.

so super small, you might miss it if you blink, Bento East is a cheap quick eat in ashland. Coming to the Shakespeare Festival on and off for the last 11 or so years, we are always looking for new and reasonable places to get a quick bite in between shows. I am impressed by the taste, portion size, and price of this place. There a few small outdoor tables to sit at, but with lithia park practically next door, you can always take it to go!

The steam bun is good, my 2 year old couldn't get enough. I think the peanut sauce with rice is the best. Great for a quick and cheap lunch.
