I think that most of the reviews are outdated. Ownership and staff have changed. I tend to stop in here on a Friday night after work. It is before all the party people and action seekers arrive. I get a really great prime rib dinner (which I see several other people ordering), and just chill. I can't say what it is like at 10 pm on a Friday, but at 5:30/6:00 it is pretty great.

I actually watched the bar-back eat someone's PAID FOR food as they thought the people had left. After returning from a smoke break, the patron was then served the food the bar-back was eating off of! I watched another person be served three . . . NOT ONE, NOT TWO, but THREE sets of bloody wings! Wow. Oh, and it took 45min for kitchen staff to "cook" my friend's salad.

Immediately when I walked in I was greeted by a friendly bartender and friendly patrons. I was led to a table in the restaurant and was helped rather quickly with a menu and water. I ordered the fish tacos. They were pretty good and came with a slaw. This was early evening so I didn't see any of the rowdiness that people were mentioning in other reviews. I think if you want to go for dinner it was a good time to visit. The restroom was clean and spotless too. I also saw a sign for free pool from 4-9. I'll definitely be back

What a dive! Waited for 30 minutes for someone to fetch the absent bartender Who was hiding in the kitchen. For a while I thought it was a buffet concept, or maybe the honor system? I seriously doubt the Health department has visited this place in the last 30 years. Tables needed to be bussed, tons of dirty bar glasses. The picture of the bathroom accurately depicts the cleanliness of this entire place. YUCK!

This place is hit or miss. I have had nice bartenders and some that think they are holier than thou. I feel kind of imprisoned being surrounded by ten bouncers on a saturday night when I just want to drink a beer and play some pool. This place is usually filled with an eclectic mix of gang bangers, bikers, dirty old women, and gross college kids. Not my first choice, but they do have a big dance floor, a great tap selection, and pool tables. Never ever EVER use the bathrooms here cause they are the worst I have seen and are not cleaned. See the pic I posted. Other than that, maybe have a beer here then go over to JP's where you won't feel as gross.

We came here after a pickleball tournament in early Aug. They closed the restaurant for us. We told them we would have 50-100 people, we had about 85. No AC on a hot day. They did not add extra servers or bussers. Had waits of from 1 hour to 1-1/2 hours for food. Some folks never did get their food and just left. Had long waits for drinks as well. the bartender was trying to bus tables and sell drinks. A few days later we talked to a manager and they were not concerned at all. This was the 2nd year we tried to bring them a big uptick in business and we were treated poorly both times. Will not be back and they have earned a lousy rep from those of us from Albany, not to mention visitors.

My roommates and I went to go find a place to play pool. We ran across this place, but we weren't sure if they would let us in since we are all only 19 years old. We all entered and the friendly bartender asked, "How are you guys doing?" fallowed with "What can I do for you?". We explained that we just wanted to play some pool. She asked to see our ID's and sent us upstairs where minors were allowed to play for $7 and hour. We went upstairs but the whole place seemed as though it was not often cleaned. They Bar was clean and sanitary, but I kept my hands to myself not to touch very much due to the sticky atmosphere. When we all got to the pool tables upstairs it was extremely hot and the air felt stagnate with no air flow what so ever. The pool table's felt was coming off the table and there were holes all over the walls and ceiling from the pool sticks being stabbed into them from previous users. We ordered a side of fries while playing and the Bartender was very pleasant and polite. She walked our order to us and brought us lots of condiments. She started a fan after noticing the heat we were playing in. She apologized and asked if we needed anything else. This place was fun but very dirty. The customer service was good but I think they were understaffed with counter service because we had to wait awhile for someone to check us out. I will go again but once I turn 21 I won't go there to drink at the bar until they clean it up there!

Here's an eye opener for you. I watched this go down a couple of months ago. The bouncers in this place will CALL THE POLICE if they witness you, A) drive up in a car and hear you speak of or show any outward signs of having had alcohol anywhere else before you arrived or, B) if you get into a car impaired and drive away after drinking there. Why? So the Albany Police aren't so hard on them for having to come out so often due to the number of fights that break out on a nightly basis. The bouncers feed the cops a few solid DUI arrests each weekend in exchange for APD looking the other way when the the over-zealous bouncers injure and rough up Riley's own patrons under the guise of "breaking up" the fights. I heard one of them bragging to some girl at the door about working with the cops and helping them out on occasion while some poor sap was being hauled away for a DUI shortly after arriving and parking out front where the bouncer saw him and thought he might be impaired. Dude went in, was hanging out, then 10 minutes later the bouncers led him outside and handed him over to APD. Screwed. Anywhere else, they'd cut you off and call you a cab, but not here.

I'd love to write a great review, but we've learned, after an hour and a half wait, that the menu item isn't available. It's New Years Eve, cold in the room. I guess the people are supposed to provide the heat. The live music's good, though the sound is a wash of reverb (sigh). Plenty of unrealized potential here.

I have to admit that I liked Rileys better when it wasn't a "night club." It gets a little skanky in there on the weekends, and the floors do get sticky, as Jessica S. talked about in her review. The current DJ is just a rude jerk-not really sure what his deal is, but he never plays requests or has anything friendly to say. On a positive note, they do have good food and the rest of the staff is friendly :) They also have a great selection of drinks!

I dont get this place at all. To begin with, is Albany even with it enough to have a "dance club", I think no.. The bartender that was working when we were in was a total "B", the music was terrible, and dont even get me started on all the tweakers that habit this place... PASS!

Ok, I remember when Riley's opened up. I was very excited for a great place to play pool on good tables, with others who were similarly focused. Well, years and owners later it is no longer a pool hall, it's a shitty bar with lots of pool tables. Pool tables they no longer even bother to take care of. Their focus has shifted to serving the strongest drinks in town. Thusly, the crowd that comes in is younger, less respectful, drunker, louder, and does not play pool much. I am an old woman compared to most of them, which in itself doesn't bother me. What does bother me is the fact that they cater to them so much that now EVERY TIME i come in, i am bombarded by really loud, really bad, two year old "hip-hop" songs that i NEVER want to hear again. Every DJ they have ever had has been horrible. On a Wednesday night when the place only has 10 people hanging out and playing pool, we do not need to hear 50 cent at top volume, in fact, we don't want to hear 50 cent at all! The floors are so sticky with spilled cosmos that my shoe stuck so badly that i had to work to release it. I would have given them only 2 stars, but their new bar manager Brigid is amazing and may just have some positive impact on the place. #corvSMB

Pool and darts with a dozen Micro brews on tap. Huge place in an old JC Penney's. Dozen billiard tables, $7 hour rental, four real dart boards and six electronic dart boards. Full bar as well. Pairs of old theater seats by the pool tables. Deep fried mozzarella sticks, Philly cheesteak hamburger, Cajun fries. Low key, good place to hang out. Friendly service.
