Solid 4 stars. Great place to eat with friends and relax, play games and do work. Very clean with high quality food. Deserts and pastries were fresh and very good.

This place is awesome.. Said no one, ever.. No really, mediocre. I wish this place was a Starbucks. Wait, it might be soon..

This is my first time here. I like the atmosphere, though from the outside I wasn't sure if I had the right place. It looks like a dance shop, which is partly is. My Harvest Salad was the perfect size with wonderfully fresh goat cheese. The dressing was a nice blend of sweet and tangy. The French onion soup was a bit of a disappointment. The flavor was okay, but it was just soup. It didn't have that toasted crust of bread and melted cheesy goodness on top. The menu looks inviting and I will be back to try other items. I have my eye on the Pepper Tree Sausage Chili.

Stopped in yesterday to check out menu. Bought a procuitto and provolone croissant, which was excellent! Spoke with owner. She was very nice and told me about their bakery and their coffee. Decided to come in for breakfast today. Service was very slow and disorganized. Ordered wrap for me and procuitto croissant and cinnamon roll for grand children to share. I had my wrap eaten by the time we got the croissant. The cinnamon roll was inedible. It was the end piece. It was so hard and dry. Hum.. very disappointing. Will not go for breakfast again.

This understated cafe has a really great menu as well as a great variety of pastries, many of which are gluten free. We had the mushroom soup, quiche cochon and bahn mi sandwhich which we shared because all 3 were fantastic! The staff was cheerful and the bright ambiance made for a lovely experience. Hope this little gem gains the popularity it deserves!

Incredible quiche with an amazing gluten free crust. Excellent coffee and a very, very tasty gluten free lemon poppyseed muffin. A very nice addition to Albany!

The first time we went in, I didn't order what I went in there for (an Americano) because they have it priced the same as a mocha! An Americano is espresso and water, and a mocha is espresso, chocolate and milk... So as a matter of principle I went home and had coffee. I did order a lemon poppyseed muffin for my daughter though, which was dry and chewy in a weird way and almost inedible. Today I went in and ordered a latte with almond milk, which was fantastic. The staff is really friendly and helpful too.

I mainly gave 3 stars instead of 2 because it's a new business, and hopefully will improve. The service this morning (a Sunday) was slow. The cinnamon roll I had was the last on the tray, and I'm not sure it was made today. It was pretty dry. I also ordered a mocha, which was fine. My husband's apple-cinnamon coffee cake was dry and crumbly. I was excited about this place, because it's an easy walk from my house and is open for breakfast on the weekend ... but I don't think we'll be back. The ambiance is a little weird, because the space is shared by the Cafe and a dancewear shop. It could be a charming space, but it feels pretty basic right now.

Great pastries, I like the black coffee. Good smells great I haven't ordered anything yet. This place is a great study spot.

A couple of girlfriends and I ended up shopping on 1st In Albany and got hungry .. we asked the clerk/owner about Cafe Sirene and she wholeheartedly recommended it so we trooped a couple of doors down and had an extraordinarily wonderful meal. Great sandwiches, wonderful soup, to-die-for pasteries and sweets ... they had a large selection of gluten free, too ... brownies yummy! The ambiance leaves something to be desired as it is bare walls (mostly) but I'm assuming they will add soft furnishings and artwork at some time. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

This place is exactly what 1st street needed: sandwiches, soups, salads and pastries that taste gourmet but are quick and won't break the bank. I love the banh mi sandwich and my kids love this place because the chocolate chip cookies are bigger than their faces. All the ingredients seem really fresh and appropriate for the season.

First time there, we ordered coffees and quiche at breakfast. Coffee was great and flavor of the quiche was good but ice cold inside the quiche. Also when asked what specific kind of vegetables were in the quiche, the cook couldn't say.. " um, eggs ....and assorted vegetables!" Not a good answer! I may try it again to see if it is better...

Delicious coffee--not acidic like a certain chain!! Gluten free treats--I had the chocolate cake--yum!! I'm looking forward to trying the quiches, soups and sandwiches.
