Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. Almost every burger is rich in sodium content and it is highly recommended to keep your burger cravings in control while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for Diabetics:

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

If you are a diabetic, you should also avoid Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich and Whataburger Patty Melt at Whataburger. Chicken Fajita Taco is also off-limits for diabetics. You must also avoid Breakfast Platter and Pancake Platter from the menu. Pancakes and Cinnamon Roll from the breakfast menu are also off-limits for diabetics.

High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Sweat & Spicy Bacon Burger will add extra 1080 calories in your diet so skip that as well. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

    Really liked the sweet-potato fries.

BV was highly recommended to my by a couple of different Portland area locals, but overall, the burgers are slightly above average (at best), are somewhat overpriced and are fairly overrated. And regarding being sustainable... I prefer great, juicy burgers to sustainable, overpriced and overrated burgers.

Only ordered a small smoothie, with less then 10 people in the restaurant, 3 orders on the screen and one car in the drive thru and it took more then 20 minutes. Not satisfied. Along with the wait there was whip cream on the shake making me think it was a milkshake since he made it with two other shakes that were milkshakes but at this point I had waiting long enough and just left with what I got.

Burgerville is the bomb diggity. Tillamook Cheddar on all the burgers. Everything is super fresh. What really makes Burgerville the best is the seasonal menu. They go out of their way to bring new fresh items when they are at the peak of their awesomeness. Whether it's the Walla Walla Onion Rings (an order of 3 is like getting 25 onion rings from some other place), the fresh blackberry shakes (no fake berry here, they only serve this when there are actual blackberries in season... yes, I am looking at you, Jack-In-The-Box!), the sweet potato fries... Mmmm... I'm getting hungry just writing the review. And for the vegetarians in your traveling party, Burgerville has some of the best veggie burger fare around. It's no afterthought here. These are legit menu items that even the carnivores in your party would love. Every time I head South on the 5 and pass the last Burgerville (this one)... a little part of me dies inside... *sniff*... Think it's about time for a road trip.

Fantabulous! The only other fast food I enjoy is In-N-Out Burger, and that's what I have semi-locally, so it's always a little overwhelming for me to go to a Burgerville and see all the menu choices. I get over it, though ;-) So: when was the last time you went into a fast-food joint and saw words like "asparagus," "garlic," or "aioli"? About never, right? Well, as I write this (May 2010), Burgerville is offering Golden Fried Asparagus Spears served with garlic aioli. Wow! What's more, they're delicious, and while your fingers get a little oily, the spears are not greasy at all. Wife got a halibut filet sandwich, and I got a pepper bacon cheeseburger. Both were very good. True to its Northwest roots, Burgerville uses Tillamook cheese--much nicer than what you'll find at any other fast food place. Also true to those roots, it appeals to Oregonians and Washingtonians (natives, anyway) with its green/sustainable/natural/locally-produced and procured/environmental/health-food-esque menu and business practices. So you can feel good about yourself while indulging in some beefy, calorie-laden comfort food--which you don't eat every day anyway, so you have no reason to feel guilty, so don't! I always like to try the seasonal shakes; this time, it was strawberry. It was one of the best shakes I've ever had anywhere. Can't wait to try the Marionberry shake later this summer! I noticed that everyone who worked there was not only polite and helpful, but that they were also native speakers of English, and appeared to be from the surrounding community. That's a very nice change from what I experience in Baja Norte--uh, I mean, The People's Democratic Republic of California--where every other restaurant employee seems to speak some mysterious, unknown tongue as their first language, yet are unable to provide service equalling that of the teenagers (and middle-aged ladies) staffing Burgerville. Bottom line: go to Burgerville and enjoy the food.

Best healthiest burger around. Antibiotic free beef. And canola oil used for fries. It's about time a healthy burger comes along

I went to the Burgerville website and they had a basket-upgrade coupon for the price of a sandwich on the seasonal spicy cranberry chicken sandwich. It was great. Lots of flavor. We also had the fresh pumpkin shakes and they were phenomenal. Also don't forget to get a discount on your next visit by visiting the website with your receipt within 72 hours. I've said it before: In-n-out is kinda overrated and I'm sorry we have to listen to all the CA folks constantly refer to it whenever a burger place is reviewed. It's funny how over-crowded cities and states always have mediocre establishments that are highly regarded just because everyone's in the habit of raving about them and taking visitors there.

You can never go wrong with this place. I love this food! Whenever i am home I come here a million times. It's the bv spead! they have great fish and chips, the turkey burger, chrispy chicken sandwhich, cheeseburgers, milkshakes. Too many things to enjoy.

Hard to be a local NW favorite for fast food burgers, fries and amazing milkshakes!

  • John V.

I heard that this was the Oregon equivalent of "In-N-Out" so I thought I would give it a try. The burger was extremely bland, and the fries okay. This was definitely not even close to coming to the quality or taste of an In-N-Out burger. I won't eat there again. Not worth the $.

  • Michael C.

A guilty pleasure for me. People can only compare this place to In N' Out because there are so few other frames of reference. I could imagine the place being quite novel and quirky to the outsider, living here awhile I see that it totally makes sense. Oregonians love local products, sustainability, seasonality, and people being treated O.K at their jobs. Burgerville has marketed all these things quite well. From what I can tell, they do it well. Oregon Country Beef ain't grass-fed, but it is pretty good considering we're talking "fast food" here. I like the burgers here, other wackier things: not so much. Hits and misses on the menu. I like they give you Malt Vinegar for the fries. Shakes are very tasty, again halfway between McD's and a $7 blender drink. Too spendy. Slow too. Which is my real problem with the place. It is like a up-class "feel better about yourself" convenience food that is neither convenient or inexpensive. You must deprogram from the cheap food mentality, but when its dressed up like cheap food and it isn't you reel. As a Slow-Food kind of person, its presents all sorts of moral conflict. But I can say that the majority of people I've seen working here looked moderately pleased they were there. I wish we had one in Corvallis, actually.

Burgerville is perfect. People who don't give Burgerville a fivestar review hate themselves, hate America, and hate little children and puppies.

I've been coming here for 30 years. Eating here, too! No but seriously folks, yes, it's expensive, but sooooo much better than SickDonalds. The Oregon berry shakes...omg...I want to turn on some Prince, light candles, and get real intimate. The burgers are the burgers are the burgers. Fries are good. Chicken strip basket gets me wet. It's all good. One time one of my kids got locked in the bathroom here, fix the doors ya poonjabbers, and put the play place back!

The Burgerville chain headquartered in Vancouver, WA and with most of its branches in OR provides superior fast food and uses locally produced food as much as possible. It also features seasonal specials such as black berry shakes. The shakes and other fruit/berry drinks have the fruit or berries inside; they don't use syrups or other commercial flavorings. The burgers and other sandwiches are very good. This month I tried the Wallawalla sweet onion burger. The onions were caramelized--a great tasting sandwich! You pay extra, of course, for the food here since it is not the ordinary fast food chain.

Their burgers are yummy!! Best fast food burger in town - love their "sauce"!

For being a fast food place, I was relatively surprised at how great the customer service was! The whole staff was all about treating the customers right, and making sure that every order was correct; GREAT customer service here! The food tasted great; I only wish that I lived closer, then I'd go all of the time!

  • Larissa G.

Had lunch here today, not very flavorful and pretty expensive. I'm willing to pay a little more for a great burger, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. The fries were hot and fresh, but had almost no salt. The milkshakes however, are pretty good! Loved the walla walla onion rings!

While I would love to give it a higher rating, because I worked there when I was younger. It is not going to happen. I do not know what has happen. Today I went in for a bagel breakfast Sandwich. I was told it would take ten minutes for them to toast a bagel. It may be time to get a new toaster. So they gave me a English muffin instead. Horrible.

  • Trevor L.

Food was really good. Never had been here. I had to bring my food back twice but they didn't give me trouble. Asked for a hamburger they brought me a cheese. Then it came with some funky sauce on it. Brought it back and asked for a plain. Tenders were also good. Milk shake was good. Solid fast food joint.

I have to laugh at the other reviewers comparing burgerville to In N out. There's no comparison, In N out is disgusting, their burgers are swimming in grease. I lived in California for a few years, and I remember when I first moved there I was really excited to try In N out because I kept hearing how great it was. I was so disappointed when I had it for the first time, and every time someone talked me into trying it again. So greasy! Burgerville burgers are so much better, when I unwrap the burger my hands aren't flooded with grease and the bun isn't a soggy mess, like at In N out. Burgerville doesn't limit you to a tiny menu either, like In N Out does, lots of options on the Burgerville menu. Burgerville is an excellent alternative to the big burger chains, keep up the good work Burgerville!

Besides really good food. The fries and side salad are so very good. Have not tired the shakes yet. And the employees are always helpful and friendly. Bumping up to 5+ stars

I have to say that the burgers here are absolutely delicious! Now, as a California native, I wouldn't say that it surpasses that of In-n-Out, but it's a pretty good darn burger! I ordered the pepper bacon cheeseburger, which comes with Tillamook cheddar (one of my fav cheeses), dressed in mayonnaise, onions, pickles, tomato, and lettuce. The flavors were spot-on. Only drawback is that if you want to make it a "basket" -which is basically combo meal with a drink and fries- it can be pretty pricey. However, for a good vacation meal, I would have to say that it's worth it. Take advantage of their holiday special flavors. My boyfriend ordered the Pumpkin Pie milkshake and it was pretty good.

Good quality, local fast food. Pepper bacon burger and onion rings are the best.

  • Jonathan V.

This place should be a four plus overall on yelp; don't believe the negatives. Food is high quality, all local, sustainable, etc. Sure that means it is a bit more expensive, but it is worth it. I stop here everytime I pass thru albany and will continue to do so. High recommend!!!!

  • Rob M.

Not bad, but no IN & OUT burger. The shakes are good and they have a selection of fish and chips and other food other than just burgers.

    (3)
  • Darla S.

The food was good. Had the pepper bacon cheeseburger, fries and strawberry shake. Lots of flavor in the thick bacon and yummy Tillamook cheddar cheese. The only issue is the food was partly cold. I believe it was because the restaurant was cold so or food cooled down fast. My shake was very strawberry and thick. The prices were good. The service was fast. The food was delivered quickly.

  • Dave S.

I am not a regular at fast food establishments by any means, but for 25 years, when we want a strawberry shortcake or a burger and fries, we go to Burgerville. We just plain like their food!

  • Rob M.

Maybe it's me, but fast food just does not do it for me anymore. I'd like to appreciate Burgerville more but it really is like every other burger chain just more expensive. t Like the other burger chains, what you get is not even close to the menu board picture. Guess my son is right - his rule with a few exceptions - never eat at a restaurant that has pictures on the menu. Good advice son. So here's my take on my $8.00 lunch; the Burgerville Classic Cheese signature burger. The bun was smashed, the cheese was unmelted, and the lettuce looked like an afterthought half off the bun, one wilted brown edged leaf of anemic iceberg lettuce. Fries were excellent, and the carton of milk was, well... white and wet. Bottom line, contrary to their mission statement, I don't feel my food was served or prepared "with love". How "local" can iceberg lettuce be this time of year anyway? Frankly, i'm not buying into their Burgerville hype. Its just another burger folks, no more, no less. I hate to be a hard grader... but *** in yelp means A-OK and that means (to me) above average. Frankly, I've had better in their class of restaurant. Sorry BV ** is all I can honestly manage.

Excellent customer service!! Sometimes a customer just wants to feel heard.. Hannah did a perfect job handling my frustration from a mix up in a drive thru order... We keep coming back for the great chicken strips and BBQ sauce and we are also pretty much addicted to the strawberry lemonade they are serving right now.. 3rd visit this week and I'm sure we'll be back soon, especially given the excellent customer service that Hannah provided.

  • Jackie L.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The service was awful and when I got my order it was the wrong burger. The cashier tried to make it my fault and never once said she was sorry and no smile. Is it that hard to smile?!?!?! Coming from the service industry this infuriates me!! This was my first and last visit to Burgerville!!!!

  • Jeff S.

We used to frequent Burgerville a lot. We particularly enjoyed their halibut fish and chips and the fresh (in season) strawberry shakes. Unfortunately, since they went all green and trendy they seem to think they can charge premium prices for marginal food. The quality and prices have definitely gone opposite directions.

  • Robert S.

Trying it all in one stop is impossible. Had the kids fish and chips, Half Pound Colossal Cheeseburger, Side Salad, Rosemary Fries, Grilled Chicken Club Salad, and Berry Shake. I loved some of the ideas behind the Burgerville USA service and products. I love the green concept but it seems a little disconnected here. Lots of things were individually packaged. And they are using Helium balloons. Wha?!? This is a finite resource that has important uses. The food itself was good. It was nice to have good salad options, but Wendy's does this pretty well too. I did like the burger, but there was no discernible flavor difference than most fast food burgers I have had. I do know that the rosemary fries were the best freakin rosemary fries I have ever had. Many times the balance of rosemary is either too heavy or too light. These were perfect, and also on the proper sized thin shoestring fry. I would go again....cause it may have been an off day.

Heck ya I'm giving a fast food my five star and here is why! I drove 45 mins away just to get a strawberry short cake that tastes just as if I were to have made it myself. I was raised on a farm picking berries and know what fresh farm berries taste like and not gross syrup stuff from other places is like. I also really like the Tillamook cheese burgers here because while yes I don't normally eat burgers at a fast food place unless it's In n Out or made at home because I'm such a steak head these burgers you can't pass up. They also have a burger that tastes similar to the Bob's Hamburgers if you all remember that place with the special sauce. It takes me back down memory lane to take a bite into one of those cheese burgers. The milkshakes are so yummy and made with fresh berries and not the gross syrups! Burgerville keeps it real! I wish we had one in Eugene, but then again I don't because then I would be over weight....Oh how I wish I had another strawberry short cake right now!!! I would be in heaven!!!!! My favorite treat!!!!!

I'm a long time burgerville fan because I can appreciate and support businesses that choose sustainable local options (especially a fast food chain) but I have to say that this location is not up to par with other locations. The staff were extremely unfriendly - with the exception of the lady who took our order. Our burgers had an over whelming amount of sauce. I had to remove with a napkin. I could have overlooked the sauce if it hadn't been for the unfriendly staff. Not the burgerville I'm used to!

  • Jon K.

(This is a copy of the letter I sent Burgerville. I think it works as a review) I had an unfortunate experience at Burgerville today. I ordered a Tillamook burger on a gluten-free bun with Rosemary fries. When handed my order, I looked at the receipt taped to the bag to make sure that was right. I should have looked in the bag. When I got home, I discover I had some sort of fried (Gluten) thing on a regular (gluten) bun. The only thing correct about my order was the fries. Many, many times I have put up with the slow, slow drive through service to get local, good food. I support the sustainable ideas of BV. But, I'm "fed up" with the slowest drive-through in town, and to top it off, a totally incorrect order. I called the manager of the restaurant to complain. Since I live too far away to get a replacement meal, I'm "in the book". She was very nice, and apologized. However, there is a systemic flaw with BV: Why are you 1) Always slow. If you don't want to or can't be fast food, then DON'T HAVE A DRIVE THROUGH and 2) I don't know how many times the Albany location has messed up an order. Again, please figure out what kind of restaurant you are. If you're going to do fast food, please, for god's sake, make it fast. If not, then don't pretend. I very much support sustainable, local food. But, BV is just too damn frustrating. I can cook my own food (purchased at the co-op) faster, cheaper, and with way less unhappiness. So, please, can you folks please provide proper guidance and management for the Albany store? Please tell me you will, and I will become a customer again. For now, it's not worth the traffic nightmare, incorrectly filled orders, and long waits to be a customer. Thank you,

I love Burgerville. I wish there was one in Salem near me. We go to this Burgerville quite often and it always is busy. Because it is always busy the tables don't get cleaned off as often as they should but when one person gets up and another immediately sits down its hard to keep up.

5 stars for having a really clean bathroom!! Also the crew at 9pm yesterday (3/29/14) was really friendly. And, of course, the food was really good. Don't miss the rosemary shoestring fries.

When it comes to fast food, which I don't eat all that often, I am a total fan of Burgerville over its mainstream competitors for a couple of reasons: 1. Local, sustainable products and ingredients; 2. Regionally ownership; 3. Ingredients that tend to be natural, hormone free and basically healthier (you are what you eat); 4. Food that simply tastes better than McD's or BK's; and 5. Substantial and tasty vegetarian items. Generally I rock 4 stars for most B'ville locations I visit, simply because when it comes to fast food, they're better than other Oregon options. This location, however, left a little bit to be desired. We drove through on Friday afternoon of Labor Day weekend and ordered up a black bean burger basket with Walla Walla O-rings instead of fries and a deluxe chicken sandwich basket again with the O-rings. Simple enough, right? We got 2 O-rings and a veggie burger. Fortunately I checked before we got too far down the road, and were able to go back and score the Chix Dlx sando. Back in the car and headed south we pulled out the veg burger and found it to have a couple of extra helpings of Burgerville Sauce on it. Not just a bit of extra sauce, sauce everywhere. Kind of a mess. Everything tasted alight but the execution here compared to other locations just seemed a little sloppy. Still A-OK, though.

I love this place! You must try the current special milk shake flavor - chocolate hazelnut. It's absolutely delicious.

Meh. I do enjoy that this place uses somewhat local ingredients, but the prices are ridiculous. You can easily go eat at First Burger which also uses local ingredients, and get a much bigger and better quality burger for the same price. Heck, Red Robin is the same price for a combo which is also massively bigger, you get unlimited fries, and I don't have to pay for dipping sauces. The food was alright. My bacon was horribly underdone and my cheese wasn't even melted. I'll stick with first burger or Gametime for an excellent huge burger for less of a price. Good food, just crazy prices for what other places offer.

Like your girlfriend's best friend who you think is kinda totally hot until she won't shutup about Twilight. I reviewed another Burgerville recently so I'll keep this short. It's impossible to give Burgerville less than three stars, their culture is so good it demands two stars on culture alone. Service here was good today, promptly greeted when we walked in the door and with a smile, no less. Food was brought quickly. Lady cleaning the tables very friendly. Much improved since last visit to this location. This location gets mighty packed at lunch and the seating area feels too cramped to me. It could easily be twice the size. There was a guy sleeping in the booth behind me. Kind of off-putting. I guess Burgerville allows vagabonds to crash in their restaurants? Some of the tables are absurdly close to the bathrooms. Same issues with the burger persist. Everything but the "Burger" part is good. Bacon A+++. Fresh veggies. Burger patty smallish and dry. Why is the burger at Burgerville so damned unremarkable?! Look, that's my first use of profanity on this site and I stick by it. Price? Closing in on $20 for two burger meals, one with a shake. It might be fast food but it sure ain't cheap. There's so very much to like and yet so much to disappointed about.

REALLY expensive for what you get. I love the mission/local/sustainable concept, but it loses traction when the food is mediocre for twice the price. There must be better burgers around.

Good turkey burger but not great. A nice, fast alternative to the normal chain fast food restaurants.

Stopped for lunch on our way through OR, and it was a great discovery, the food was delicious! Slow service at the counter though. I had the Sweet Walla Walla Onion burger, which had caramelized sweet onions, Tillamook cheddar, and a hint of cayenne in the sauce. I added bacon for $1, which turned out to mean "$1 per slice", so I had just one slice for the whole burger (oh well). The burger itself was absolutely delicious!! The fries were nothing to write home about, but the Fresh Oregon Raspberry shake was amazing! I really like the local/sustainable ideal behind the restaurant but found it a little pricey for what you get.

I really enjoyed the crispy chicken deluxe sandwich (with BBQ sauce, Tillamook cheddar, bacon, and lettuce, on a wheat bun). The sweet potato fries could have had a bit more flavor, but I guess less salt is healthier. The pumpkin shake was delicious! It tasted way more like real pumpkin than the Jack in the Box ones and less fattening (this could just be a dangerous self-delusion though). But they are actually made with real, local pumpkin. Burgerville is now my favorite fast food chain. Definitely more expensive than other fast food, but it tastes so fresh and not fake/super processed. I love how they use Tillamook cheese and other local products and how their packaging is recycled and compostable. They have a variety of appealing options too... definitely want to try more next time I'm in Oregon!

Burgers are decently sized and don't taste like the crap you get in regular fast food places. A little expensive but that's what you pay for since the place uses wind energy for power. The waffle fries were good but they hardly give you any. Comparable to In-N-Out, but more expensive.

A recent trip truly opened my eyes to the glory of Portland's Burgerville, and it turned out to be my only 5-Star dining experience in the city. On my last day in the area, I decided to give their breakfast menu a go, so do keep in mind that this review only pertains to the breakfast selection at Burgerville. tl;dr There's a reason it isn't called Breakfastville Star 1 - Was the service good? While no different from any other burger chain in terms of direct service, it's the indirect services that made me immediately fall in love with Burgerville. An open fitness nut and calorie-counter, I was absolutely blown away when I saw the full nutrition contents of my order printed right on my receipt. Moreover, directly underneath the nutrition facts were various tips and tricks to lowering the caloric content of my specific order, 100% unprecedented even among the most health-conscious of fast food establishments. Corporate executives from McDonalds and Chipolte alike could learn a thing or two from how Burgerville does things. Star Granted. Star 2 - How were the portions relative to the cost? While typically the burgers and fries are worth every penny, I was actually a bit disappointed with the size of the breakfast portions relative to the cost. My $7 Sausage Breakfast Burrito was disappointingly small, and I couldn't help but feel that I'd have been better off at any other Breakfast establishment on the street. No Star Granted. Stars 3/4 - Did the food taste good? Once again, I truly can't emphasize enough how amazing Burgerville is, just not for breakfast. Breakfast Burritos are pretty straightforward, and because they're so hard to mess up, you really have to bring your A-Game if you're going to make a truly great breakfast burrito. In this regard Burgerville fell short. While made fresh to order (VERY impressive), the eggs were a bit bland, and, according to my receipt, they managed to cram 52g of fat into a bit of sausage and cheese. How in the heck did they manage that? Overall, while I'll gladly give a star for the fresh eggs, my burrito was a bit of a disappointment. Single Star Granted. Star 5 - Would you eat it every day if you could? Burgerville is hand's down my favorite dining option in Portland, and I could pick from their regular menu every single day without issue. However, there's a reason it's not called Breakfastville, so look elsewhere if you're strictly in the mood for breakfast options. No Star Granted.

I love love love Burgerville. So much so that I would kill to have one in Salem. Their burgers and shakes are terrific, but the fires? Eh, not a fry fan so I can't be too judgemental. They just bore me to death. The menu is a tad limited. I always order the Tillamook Bacon Cheeseburger just because I'm not interested in the rest of the menu. Oh, and it's a little pricy, but it's really good quality food. I'm starting to crave a burger right now...

I read about this chain on ecofabulous, and figured that if I ever passed through the Portland/Salem area, would give it a try. Definitely did not disappoint! This is pretty much the eco-progressive answer to In-N-Out, with a focus on local, sustainable food -- so I felt safe ordering a burger here. And I must say, it was quite yummy! The sweet potato fries were to die for -- very crispy, which is hard to pull off. Another great stop if you're passing through Central or Northern Oregon.

I was visiting family in Oregon and hit BV on the way back from Albany. I had the Pepper Bacon Burger. I live across the street from an In & Out and while I love In & Out if you want something more than just a burger, you won't find it there and I really don't care for In & Out's fries. I really liked the Pepper Bacon Burger (yummy bacon and cheese and just the way I special ordered it) and the fries were crispy. I would love to see them in California.

4.2 stars? Come on yelpers. Have you never had a good burger ? This was garbage. Thin little dry patty, flavorless toppings. Overpriced sides, fries that have no flavor again. I'm completely disappointed, and only came here because of the yelp rating. I figured it needed someone to tell the truth about the quality of the food. Avoid the burgerville spread at all costs ! At least the girls working here are cute, but that doesn't excuse the bad food. Maybe this place was good in the past, but everything tastes like it was reduced in cost as much as possible. Please in n out. Open more restaurants!

Burgerville is a recent discovery in my life. I struggle to see how this Portland-based fast food chain with 40-ish locations in the Northwest hasn't stretched itself down to Eugene. Probably a good thing for me as I'd be there once a week and I don't really want to be eating fast food that often. Nice touch #1: Two different types of bean burgers, and both are tasty. A total expansion of what seems possible in the world of fast food. Nice touch #2: Value meals are priced such that you don't 'save' anything by ordering a corn-syrup-based-carbonated-beverage. Have that beverage if you will, but you aren't fooled into feeling like it is 'free.' Nice touch #3: 100% of the packaging is compost-able. All trash containers are simply compost. I can think of lots of 'green' places in faux-progressive-Eugene that fall pathetically short of this. Nice touch #4: They let you know things such as "we offer our employees health benefits" which is just mind-boggling to me. Again, in contrast to many places in Eugene, you get the feeling that the owner(s) really believes in doing the right thing, and isn't just throwing out buzzwords to capture the hearts and souls of the mindless white liberal crowd. It's fast food, but really, every other fast food place in the known world isn't worth mentioning on Yelp because I can't give them negative five star and I would assume that anybody who goes to Yelp to read about BK or McDs is a total, complete, utter moron. So this three stars is huge. Thanks, Burgerville.

We've been here twice so far. A lot to read, so I'll summarize if you want the tl;dr version at the bottom. Food: Average fast food menu for the most part, with some good specials. Burgers and fries and shakes that are pretty much as good as you'd expect from any other fast food place. The specials can be a nice deviation from the ordinary. Their sweet potato fries are pretty good, and the blackberry shake we had definitely had real blackberry in it. Our friend's blackberry lemonade had a layer of blackberries at the bottom. Price: They have sustainable practices, which amounts to about a 10% increase in price over other fast food joints. Their frequent customer program is pretty cool though. They combine gift card and member card and give you like 10% back on every purchase. You get $5 to spend on your birthday too. Decor: Its a fast food place. Half indoor, half outdoor seating. Kept pretty clean usually though. Service: This is where they really need to pick up a little. Our first time was late night after a movie, pretty quiet, and we got our order fast and without issue. Second time we went was yesterday for their Labor Day special, $10 for 10 cheeseburgers. It was really really busy and the chick at the register really screwed up the payment part of our order. She had to enter it in no less than 3 times. There was no manager onsite, only a senior cashier or something. On the bright side, we got double orders of almost everything for free. Summary: Worth the premium price if you're big on sustainability, though staple menu items are mostly indistinguishable from other fast food joints. Same minimum-wage service problems as any other place, though they do have some interesting specials that are worth checking out once in awhile.
