My mother went here first - she said she'd been to one in El Reno several years ago. She said it was just ok but I wanted to try it for myself. Eh... not that great. It is basically a Charleston's style place - almost down to the decor only the portions are not as large as Charleston's but still cost the same. It seems like the food is from a bag and just heated up not made fresh. Maybe some things are... but our appetizer was lousy. I had a Caesar Salad which was too oily, didn't have chicken on it, and cost $13. I would rather waste the gas and go to a place I know is going to be good where I get my money's worth first. Maybe they'll get better over time and when I'm back in the city I'll try again but for now... I'd avoid it.

A coworker and I stopped in for lunch when we were in Yukon one morning. We both got a bowl of lobster bisque and shared a couple appetizers, the fried okra and the chicken brochettes. The lobster bisque was delicious, and we both liked that it had LOTS of lobster meat in it. Sometimes places skimp out and you get the flavor without the meat, but Hensley's doesn't do that. The brochettes were alright - bacon wrapped chicken with jalapeno. A great combination, but nothing special I hadn't had before. The okra was really good. Whole fried okra and the batter was good, not too thick. I'm not in Yukon very often, but this is definitely worth a stop in if you're around. The menu has a ton to choose from, really a little bit of everything. The type of food and ambiance reminds me a bit of Charleston's (I think that's been mentioned in other reviews), but with a larger menu. Good spot!

More of a "meh" experience yesterday for lunch. The waiter was really nice but he promised the best roll (fresh from the oven) and best custom ribeye steak ever. Everything made from scratch "in-house". Awesome! ...man, it was a disappointment. The roll was overly reheated in the oven so it was hard on the outside and dry. Even when I soaked the whole thing of butter in it. The ribeye steak was okay. Was a little over cooked (I asked for med rare). Sadly, I've had better at Texas Roadhouse down the road. I was really hoping for a great steak, especially with "Top Shelf" in the name. Especially for the price.

TL;DR - Our server changed the gratuity from $6 to $10. (The total bill was $27.10 with a $6 gratuity on top of that - a little more than 20%. The server changed the gratuity to $10.) *** THIS REVIEW IS NOT BASED ON THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD *** Well... let me begin by saying that the food quality here is very good (4 stars or better). I'm writing this review based on a service-related issue where the server, SHELBY C., altered my gratuity. The bill amounted to $27.10 and I left a $6.00 gratuity on top of that - a little more than 20%. The server changed the gratuity to $10. I live in Dallas and went home for my mother's birthday weekend. Before leaving town on Sunday April 13th, 2014, I took her to Hensley's for brunch. The food was great, etc. Toward the end of the meal, I gave SHELBY C. my check card and waited and waited. Eventually, a different server came back with the check presenter. He was cool. However, it only contained the itemized bill and the customer copy. I got up and walked to the kitchen, knocked on the wall, and asked him about the merchant copy. He printed out a copy of the closed check and told me to just fill in the tip on the customer copy and sign the bottom. That's what I did. And we left. A few days later, I discovered the discrepancy while going over my receipts from the previous week. I called the restaurant today and explained the situation to the day manager, DAVE(?). He took my number and said that he would look into it and have somebody call me back. A few hours later, the evening manager, JOSH, called me back. I explained the situation to him and he offered to refund me the $4 difference and make her pay the restaurant back. Fine. I asked him if this sort of thing happened often and if he would speak to SHELBY C. about it. He then offered to refund me the entire $10 tip and make her pay the restaurant back. Fine. I didn't really have a problem with the $4 / $10 tip in and of itself. I was more concerned with SHELBY C.'s actions in altering my payment information.

Ok, arrived with reservations on a Sunday with my family for dinner at 645pm after viewing the Christmas lights at the park in Yukon. Parking was plentiful and we were seated immediately. They accommodated us well as I had asked for private dining as my three year old eats much better with less distraction. Immediately I realised there were about twenty percent of the tables uncleared including the table right next to ours. I think they need to realise if this is a fine dining establishment that should also include cleaning tables immediately after each party finishes and leaves the table, not 25 minutes later. We should have been held for four or five minutes at the entrance while table near ours was cleaned and cleared. As we walked in to our table, the restaurant was extremely slow and we passes six tables not cleared. When our adjacent table was cleared, the male waiter swept all the trash, sugar packets. Etc right on the floor where it remained in plain site of our table the entire meal. I ordered a boneless ribeye and vegetable sides and the entire meal was fantastic. Meat was medium rare, exactly as ordered. My wife ordered a lobster tail and it too was very good. My 9 year old son ordered a child's filet with fries and he enjoyed the steak and fries. My three year old daughter had a little of everything we all ordered and also enjoyed the steak and lobster. Service was great and our server was very sweet and paient with our children which we appreciated. Again though upon our departure we passed five tables that were a total mess and you could tell the customers had not been there in a while because I could see the tables as I ate our meal. As my son and I made our way to the restroom, we noticed the floors had a lot of trash, napkins included, all through the restaurant. JUST CLEAN THE PLACE UP AND CLEAR TABLES IMMEDIATELY AND I THINK RATINGS AND CLIENTELLE WOULD IMPROVE.

We have visited Top Shelf many times and are never disappointed! I LOVE their burger, their Ceasar salad, and their Black and Blue Bruschetta. When we went most recently, my husband's steak was cooked perfectly, my sister's shrimp was delicious, and my daughter enjoyed her pasta. The drinks are very reasonably priced and the staff is friendly and efficient. We will return as frequently as possible (we drive from Texas to visit family and always make a point to eat at Top Shelf).

Entrees are $20 - $25 on average plus the building is nicely done so the expectation is a good dinner at a higher end restraunt. What you get is pretty good food at a high price. I had the shrimp dinner which were four good size shrimp nicely prepared with steak fries. Wine by the glass was $8-$12. The Kendall Jackson was $12 for about 5 oz. the cheaper wines I never heard of so I stuck with KJ but like the meal it was over priced. Wife had salmon and it was good. Total bill including tip was a little over $100.....and I am disappointed in the entire experience.

I think it's safe to say I am totally blown away by this place. A surprise attack of delight! My sister Lyndi Z covered so much in her review, I don't feel the need to duplicate her wonderful read on this special place, especially since she hosted this event. Just read her excellent review for a detailed and very first hand account of working with them on a private event. I can only review what I observed at the private party she hosted: 5 stars for an outstanding wine list 5 stars for exceptional, helpful, personalized service for our event, namely Jeremy and Shelby, plus a lot of face time with the affable manager Steve 5 stars for a beautiful, spotless restaurant, including a the spacious and tidy private room we were in 5 stars for the party food: the apps buffet was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. 5 stars for the real food - after the guests started to trickle out, I ordered a small steak, with caesar salad and steamed broccoli. I would compare this steak to Junior's, only possibly a bit better since Junior's rests on their laurels a lot recently. This steak was perfectly cut, seasoned, prepared and presented. My jaw might have dropped upon taking that first bite, it was that good. I quickly returned my jaw to chewing position but was seriously in shock. I don't often have this strong of a reaction to a place that until recently was not even (I'm ashamed to say) on my radar. I cannot wait to come back, sit in a private booth, pour over the wine list and savor every bite. Aside: Comparisons to Charleston's are not exactly accurate - Charleston's has never had a wine list like this!

After a long day of travel we wanted a nice place to have a good dinner. This was it...We had a Ribeye, the chicken and artichokes, beef stew, thick calamari, lobster bisque, top shelf french dip. All of it was excellent...and we are foodies. ..I have to say tbe lobster bisque was probably the highlight. It was creamy and the lobster bites were impessive...You could do a whole meal with that alone. The atmosphere was clean, not overly noisy, and our waitress was top notch. I Wish we lived closer so I could be a regular

Still a place where I would only go for special occasions. But they fixed the billing issue and even the leftovers were great the next day.

Stopped here for a late lunch with a co-worker. I had the grilled chicken caesar wrap and she had the grilled chicken sandwich. Our sides of sweet potato tots and steak fries were perfectly prepared and delicious. Service was attentive and professional. Will be back next time I am in town!

Food was great! I had the Filet with sweet potato bites. Steak was cooked well. Easily one of the top 5 steaks in OKC metro. Price was on par with what you would expect from a good quality restaurant.

My husband BZ is the nicest, most thoughtful person on the planet. And I'm not just biased, ask anyone who knows him and they will all agree with me. So when it came time to plan his 30th birthday, I knew 2 things: It had to be incredibly special, and there are way too many people who want to celebrate him for my house to accommodate. So I began a Goldilocks-esque search for a venue. Everything I was finding was too large, too small, too expensive (from $300 just for the room to $500 alcohol minimums), only available after 9pm, and/or reserved areas only and not our own space. I said I would call one last place to try and find something, and it turned out Hensley's was just right. From the very beginning, the manager, Steve, was quick to respond and incredibly helpful- he met us to see the room, sent sample menus and answered my many questions. When we visited the large, beautiful room, I was shocked to hear that the room was free to rent, available at any time of day, and we could customize the food and drink menu to fit any budget. Booking the room was as easy as giving Steve my name, phone number, date and time. From there, we picked a handful of hot and cold appetizers and narrowed to the amazing wine list to a few to make available to our guests. Steve and I worked together on how to ensure our guests got enough wine without us breaking the bank, and he was patient as I asked question after question about how the alcohol would be handled throughout the night (a neurosis that stems from a wine debacle at our wedding). I cannot emphasize how easy this was to plan from the very beginning. On the day of the event, my sister and I showed up just 30 minutes early to decorate and get the lay of the land. We met Jeremy and Shelby, our fantastic waitstaff for the evening, and they helped make sure every detail was perfectly executed- from the aforementioned wine pouring to bringing out the cake and how to cut it for us. They were two of the nicest, most genuine people I have met in any setting, and they were gracious when dealing with my standard pre-event jitters. The food was beautifully and mouth-wateringly displayed and the tables were set up exactly how I envisioned. There is a great AV set up in the room, so we were able to play our own playlist through the iPod hookup while allowing our guests to watch the Thunder game- once again, every detail of this room was covered. The party went off without a hitch: Our guests were comfortable in every way: enough room to mingle or eat, temperature-wise, and in proximity to the restroom (a must when the wine is flowing). The food was precisely the right amount (something that I left 100% up to Steve and he, in typical Steve fashion, was spot-on) and everything was delicious and the right temperature throughout the night. I honestly think each guest said something to me about the caliber of the room, food, and wine. The guest of honor looked at me halfway through and thanked me for a perfect party, and while I was glad he appreciated it, I felt guilty taking any credit because it was 100% the Hensley's team who made it happen. I cannot thank Steve, Shelby, Jeremy and the rest of the staff at Hensley's enough for helping ensure a flawless, memorable event for my amazing husband! Do yourself a favor and book your next event here-- I promise they will take excellent care of you, and your guests will thank you!

First off... The interior. I honestly have no idea if this was a western steakhouse, upscale winery, suburban dental office, or an Italian eatery. The menu is just as identity challenged as the interior. Traditional cowboy steaks, fancy Italian pasta, roadhouse burgers, comfort chicken fried steak, and generic seafood. I honestly have no idea what kind of restaurant I as just in and maybe the owners haven't decided what theme they want to run with. Food. Presentation is excellent, I had a burger which was cooked exactly how I ordered. I added bacon, but the kitchen forgot it. The steak fries: I am not crazy about them anyway and my usual fears were realized. They were too thick.. They basically sliced up a huge potato like you would lemons with a lemon slicer. Just huge thick potatoes wedges about 7 inches long and 1.5 inches thick. Like potato hot dogs... My dining guests had no complaints. Their food had excellent presentation. Also seemed to be cooked perfect. They had chicken fried steak (2x), 10 oz sirloin rare with corn and baked potato (1x), and a prime rib with baked potato (1x). All looked good and from my observation was good. Service: waitress made the mistake twice of negatively reviewing the house's food. One of my dining guests inquired about the chicken Alfredo, the waitress, Cameron, mentioned she did not like the house's fettuccine. When inquired what was unsatisfactory about it, she did not have a clear answer. My dining guest ordered a different entrée and then asked how the macaroni and cheese side item was. The waitress again negatively reviewed the item, saying she did not like it. I brought my lack of bacon to the attention of our waitress. She offered to get the kitchen to bring me bacon right away, to which I declined. I just wanted to make sure we weren't charged for it, and we were not. The kitchen manager shortly came by and offered a desert on the house. We declined, but later changed our mind and accepted their offer for key lime pie. I didn't partake in it, but my companions enjoyed it. Overall it's okay. I would go back but it would not be my first or second choice. Food was okay, service was okay, atmosphere was meh.

What a pleasant surprise. I was traveling through Oklahoma and stopped in Yukon for the night. The restaurant was recommended by the hotel - Hampton Inn. They also recommended that I save room for the desert. The food was excellent, prepared well, prefect presentation on the plate and tasted great. I ordered the ground beef, yeah not very imaginative on my part but it's been a long trip. The beef was presented on top of a mound of smashed potatoes. The burger had some type of excellent cheese - I believe it was gruyere cheese. Accompanied by mixed vegetables. Excellent entree. Remembering to order desert, I had the coconut pie. Well, it was to die for!One of the best coconut pies I've had. I've now added Hensley's Top Shelf as one of my stops on the way through Oklahoma.

Great place. The dinner menu is more of $$$ rating. Yelp shows it a $$. But the steaks are awesome and it is well worth it. The service was great.

I came here on a Friday night with a group of about 12 people. I appreciate that I could make a reservation through OpenTable beforehand so we could show up and be immediately seated. It has a very good selection of wines and spirits, but I didn't see any beer on the drink menu. I thought it a little odd that a place with so many different options for wine and liquor wouldn't have some good craft beer options, but oh well. My martini was good, but then I tried an old fashioned and I thought they went a little overboard with the bitters. It tasted like nasty medicine your mother would force down your throat when you were little. I had the 6 oz. sirloin with garlic spinach and buttered corn. It was cooked just right and the sides tasted excellent. The dish was only about $15, but the quality was excellent. The menu has a variety of dishes with some around $10-20, and others in the $20-30+ price range. This is a weird compliment, but I really loved the copper sink in the bathroom. I believe that a place willing to put such great effort into something as simple as a bathroom puts a lot of effort into everything else, so I was impressed. Service was a little slow, especially considering that it wasn't very busy for a Friday night, but our server was friendly. Overall, it's a nice place to take people when you want to do something different than a chain like Texas Roadhouse or Outback, but don't quite have the budget for one of the fancier steakhouses in Oklahoma City.

Best thing was the baked potato. The salad was large but homemade dressing was watery. My steak was pretty tough. Logan's would have been better. Service was fine. We won't be back.

Food is delicious, but way overpriced. I have eaten a few times and enjoyed what I ate, but it is not worth the extra expense. I say go to the city if you want a higher end meal. They tend to have a better value in my opinion.

Hensley's is our favorite upscale steak house. They have a large menu. Their steaks are the best and baked potatoes are cooked perfectly and fluffy. But, the shrimp cocktail is the freshest and best tasting shrimp you can find this side of Baton Rouge, LA. I would put this restaurant up against any of the fine steakhouses in OKC any day!

  • Sarah M.

Completely awful! The steak was tough as could be and my husbands "prime rib" ... I think was actually roast beef being passed off as prime rib. The Mac n cheese tastes like noodles in nacho cheese sauce. The only thing good about the place was the waitress. We paid $70 and will NOT be back!

Did not like. First off the booths are so small it's like a airline seat! My belly almost touched the table and couldn't move table :( uncomfortable! Secondly, I added chicken to my salad and it was so dry it looked and tasted like turkey! But my DOGS enjoyed it when I brought it home to them. Thirdly.. We bought a coupon from resteraunt.com 2 yrs ago, it said it never expired and mgr wouldn't honor it saying they stopped doing business with them, the kind thing to do would be to honor any that are left out there, not our fault they quit doing business with them and we did purchase it! I'll never go back there!!!!
