Ok, granted this place doesn't look exciting from the exterior, but go in and settle down for comfort food that is just down home good! Had the pulled pork salad - very delicious and fresh. Pork was savory and not dry at all! The ham and cheese soup is superb and tastes like a good ol ham and cheese sandwich in a bowl! The iced tea is just a tad watered down for my tastes, but the cornbread is wonderful, moist, not too greasy, and has a hint of jalapeño. The rolls are very good, too. Had the double fudge dream for dessert. Comes in a smaller mini size if you are getting too full. Definitely a dessert for the chocoholic in you! Wait time was minimal. The staff is uber friendly. The restaurant is quite clean, despite being a little dated on the decor. Very homelike feel and unpretentious! I love it!!

Denny's meets Bubbba! Naw, this food is strictly run of the mill chain food and was quite empty on a sat night. String beans were overcooked, fried okra was soggy, chicken fried steak was greasy and meatloaf smelled like cat food. Dane had Meat Lovers Chef Salad was practically tasteless...didn't bother getting desert. Nope another won't be back!

Talk about comfort food. This place makes me feel like I'm at home in my momma's kitchen. From the sweet iced tea to the homemade desserts, this place is top notch. My favorite item on the menu is the chicken tenders; they're hand breaded, juicy and tender. It's a great place to go at least once and let them know. They give all first timers a free dessert and if you turn it down they give you a $5 off coupon to use on your next visit.

Food (4/5) Came in for lunch on a Monday and there were a good amount of people despite the snowy weather, but the restaurant is so large that there were plenty of open seats. Don't let the bland exterior fool you though! This place cooks up a mean chicken tender meal. Right as the waitress takes your order, she'll ask you if the want the bread or the cornbread muffins. For the curious, you can say both, but I personally only liked the bread. It came out hot, steamy, moist, and the butter spread on it sooooooo good. The cornbread muffin was too dry to my liking, but it's free so I'm not going to complain too much. For my entree, I ordered the "light" chicken tender meal, which is supposedly less than 500 calories (sans the calories of the 2 complimentary sides I chose: corn kernels and side salad). It's part of their "lightning lunch" deal, so if they don't cook it / bring it to you in under 10 minutes, then the entire meal is free. Alas, the meal was brought out promptly, so no free lunch. But all is well because I did get delicious chicken tenders! Lightly fried, not overly battered, hot, tender, juicy. The "light" meal comes with 4 tiny pieces, which is probably why the meal is under 500 calories. Sides weren't super memorable - just okay. Service (3/5) Nothing exceptional here. It's your standard wait service at a restaurant, but our waitress took a while to bring the check, which was my only point of frustration throughout the meal. Otherwise, she was very attentive at refilling our waters. Atmosphere (3/5) Wood. Wood everywhere. That's about the best I can describe this restaurant. Plenty of seating, very homey feeling, but the booths aren't comfortable because well... they're made of wood. This makes a great lunch spot for family and friends alike. Larger parties may be harder to seat on a busier day though as I only recall seeing a lot of 4-seater tables. Bottom Line Pretty exceptional chicken tenders and delicious complimentary bread rolls, but the service and atmosphere are just average. However, if you prioritize food quality above all else (especially some good southern dishes), then you should definitely check this place out!

My Fiance & I had discovered The Delta Cafe on 41st while driving around. When we seen this one we decided to stop and see if it's like the one on 41st that we love to go to...What a surprise, this cafe is just as nice, clean, and a wonderful staff. Their chicken fried steak is amazing, and their fried pickles (if your a fan of pickles) are off the charts! It's the only place i can go to get my fried pickle fix because they are the long (not small & round) pickles and their not as salty as every other place i have gone to that sold fried pickles. Their Cheese sticks are very yummy as well! You get rolls and/or cornbread with jalapeno's (just a tad spicy but not overwhelming at all) and butter...if you like honey they can bring you that too. My fiance & I consider this to be "our cafe" because we always know that if we want a relaxing yet delicious lunch that we can get it here.

Good food, the pot roast reminds me of my moms food. A great place to go, with family, friends or alone, the service was good and the food was ready fairly quick. I would definitely eat here again and kill another Sunday evening.

Stopped here on the way to Oklahoma City for lunch. We just missed the lunch rush and had an enjoyable meal. I had fried chicken livers that were great! Not many places know how to cook them and I took a chance. Glad I did! Dessert was yummy! I had banana pudding. Pricing was good. Service was excellent! Atmosphere was nice and friendly. You could tell when regulars walked in. Very friendly. Will stop by again when passing thru in the future. Plano CJ
