Diabetics at TGI Friday
If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.
Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:
Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

About TGI Friday
TGI Friday is a casual dining American restaurant chain founded in 1965. The term “TGI” is an acronym for Thank God It's and together the name of the restaurant is often announced as Thank God It's Friday. Over the years of its existence, the TV commercials and other advertisement streams have also twisted the phrase a bit and used it as Thank Goodness It's Friday. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages primarily. However, they are also known for their low-carbohydrate and low-fat menu items to promote a healthy lifestyle. TGI Friday also offers gluten-free items on its menu for those with gluten intolerance.
Besides the cool name, TGI Friday also has an interesting background story of its origin. The founder of the restaurant Alan Stillman lived in a New York-based neighbourhood full of a young crowd, especially girls from the airline and fashion industry. He started the first TGI Friday restaurant in New York in the hope of meeting single women as there weren't any such public place for young men and women to meet. He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.

Nothing but good things to say. Food was great. Service by our waitress 68 Debra was fantastic. She far exceeded our expectations. Thanks so much for the great experience. She is an asset to your company, and no I don't personally know her from Adam. She deserves kudos.

My husband and I ate here recently and I don't know if I will be back. I hate to complain, but I have never been treated more rudely. We ordered burgers and I ordered mine with mustard only. After several times of arguing about the toppings, I finally snapped that I would like my food prepared how I ordered it. I like my burgers plain because mixing textures bother me. I hate cheese on a burger and always have. I should be able to order what I want without being scrutinized for it.

I ordered food for pick up. Was greeted at the door and told to pick it up at the bar. Sat there for 10 minutes without being greeted. Other guests made comments I was going without service. Turns out they were friends with the absent bartender and the manager that finally came over. No apologies for lack of service. Paid for food and still waited five minutes for her to pick it up from behind the bar and give it to me. I could see it the whole time. Cold food. Horrible experience. There for 25 minutes and never did see the bartender.

My husband and I went in late last night after going to the fair. We had a couple drinks and endless appetizers. They have a couple new appetizers and we tried the spicy chicken tostados and pot stickers. They were both amazing. The endless apps are $10 each and we had one refill of each. That was well worth the $20. Our waitress was pretty awesome and helpful in choosing drinks. The restaurant was clean and tidy and all the staff was very friendly. We would definitely go back.

If I could give less than one star I could. There were people waiting, but there were many open tables. I asked for a table 3 times and my husband once and we were still taken to a booth on the other side of the restaurant. When I again said I need a table we were told to go back to the entrance and wait even though there were several open tables in front of us. Then, instead of seating us at one of the open tables, we were repeatedly told to sit and wait on the bench that was clearly blocked by a group of people waiting to check in. He then proceeded to help the people who just walked in while we were supposed to wait. We left and went elsewhere.

The lunch special price was low but the portions were way too small and I left hungry. Part of the problem was that the Caeser salad was made with iceberg type lettuce and it was very odd. The dressing was also not of a good flavor. The sandwich half was the size of a slider and the meat was almost non-existent. I would not order the lunch deal again. I also would not order a caeser salad here again. I wish I would have gone for the all you can eat appetizer and just had that instead......

When my kids were younger, they used to always whine for the dirt cup sundaes. I have found the Jack Daniel's chicken to be more my taste. My dinner is always gone in five minutes. Haven't visited in awhile but I plan on taking my wife soon. Maybe I'll even try a dirt cup sundae.

We went here on Mother's Day, so I understand that they were busy. However, our waitress walked by our table several times without even acknowledging us at all, and we had to wait about 10 min before she even approached us to take our simple drink order of water. We are very patient people but I felt as if we were just an annoyance to her and she minimally checked on us. Food was tasty and the hostess who greeted us at the door was very friendly.

It's TGI Friday's. The food itself is middle of the road and reasonably priced. Went with a bunch of friends for the $10 unlimited appetizers. Each person ordered one of the appetizers and rotated them around. Sure we all felt disgusting afterwards, but the food wasn't that bad.

Pros: I don't care what people say, I don't care that this is a chain restaurant, I'm thinking Friday's is one of my most favorite places to eat. During our last dining experience, we shared a strawberry mint mojito, ahi crisps, cajun chicken & shrimp pasta w/ side of Jack daniel's sauce, and salted caramel cake for dessert. It was all deliciously unhealthy, fattening, and tasty. Cons: We went the weekend after Valentine's day, so it was pretty packed and we had to wait over 30 minutes for a table. Worth it.

I love the food and the atmosphere at TGIF! The service: worst experience and on multiple occasions. The wait time for drinks? I was half way into my rack of ribs by the time our drinks arrived. I am extremely patient, considerate to one having a hard time if in the "weeds" (over seated without ability to catch up) and as is my daughter, having very good manners. I didn't understand why I felt an attitude growing from our waitress. I will give a few months to pass before I try TGIF, along 41st, another try.

We're usually always pleased with the food and service at the 41st street location. I've been a Stripes member for a few years. And, because of that, have earned enough points for several free steaks. This has been quite welcome as feeding a teenage boy can be quite costly. The food portions are generous enough that I typically get to take 1/2 my meal home for lunch the following day. I highly recommend trying the pot stickers as a starter. I'm looking forward to our next visit.

Had our oldest son's birthday dinner here. The service was excellent, especially considering how busy they were. The food was great and the atmosphere was typical "fridays". Overall a great experience.

Terrible service and food. Didn't have menu items that were advertised. I won't be back.

On the other hand, Anna, we've had some fairly good experiences at the 61st and Memorial Friday's location. Nothing superb, mind you, but the menu is extensive, providing a choice for everyone in a large group, and the prices are quite fair. Decent service, pretty good food. P.S. As of 1/09, I'm demoting this place from four stars to three. The servings are smaller, less tasty and it just doesn't seem quite as good lately.
