Given the reviews both here and on Urbanspoon, I am shocked at how mediocre this place was. The bread, cold and bland. Somewhat stale. Had two appetizers, the crab cake and the fried pickles. The crab cake was decent but overly "fishy". The fried pickles were indeed good, but when you come to a place that portends to be a pseudo-upscale restaurant and the best thing about your meal was a fried pickle, well, let's just say that's not good. For my entree I had the skirt steak. I have seen rave reviews of it here and elsewhere. Again, I was thoroughly unimpressed. The flavor was very underwhelming and the texture seemed off. Yes, I know it is skirt steak and not filet mignon, but it shouldn't be like chewing a plate of gristle. The dish came with a sad little arugula salad that had virtually no flavor at all and some onion rings that quite frankly could've come from Sonic. My wife had the pasta primavera, and she was also unimpressed. She reported that the dish was marred by an overpowering lemon flavor. In addition to the mediocre food, I can report that the alcohol prices are on the high side. I guess that's to be expected, but $5 for each and every bottle of beer you sell other than Bud, Coors, etc?? Really??? The wine prices certainly aren't anything to write home about either. How'd you like to pay $25 for a bottle of Beringer white zin?! Yay! We love the Brasserie but they've got a lot of work to do here. We won't be going back anytime soon.

A great restaurant and one of my girlfriends favorites. I've tried a few things on the menu and each has been great. My girlfriend usually always gets the Gorgonzola Skirt Steak which has been phenomenal every time. The wine list is also impressive as they have quite a large selection. For a nice, quiet dinner and a glass of wine, this place can't be beat. The outdoor seating is also very nice in the spring and fall when the weather is is cooperative.

Sonoma is delicious. This once-douchey nightclub-ey dance place is now a sophisticated and reasonably-priced dining option. The inside has a nice-sized bar area with hi-top tables, the rest of the inside consists of beautiful, clean wood floors and a very nicely arranged dining area. There's a big room on the back of the main area that can be reserved for parties, or when there aren't any reservations just has more tables. The food is so good. SO good. The gorgonzola skirt steak is so incredible that after I got it one time I've never ordered anything else. Before that, however, I'd tried the pizza (awesome) and one of the pasta dishes (also tasty). They have a great wine selection and if you don't have a reservation it is still a valid option for dinner on the weekend. You can just hang out in the bar area and have a glass of Angeline if there happens to be a wait. I obviously never mind a wait.

After coming here a few more times, I have to say the service is excellent and the bread is simply amazing. It's literally the best bread I've had. The vinegar and oil is great too. Very awesome spot.

We've been to Sonoma on many occasions and the staff is always friendly. Their citrus and garlic chicken with potatoes entree is so delicious I haven't even tried anything else there. It's more upscale food, but it's a more casual restaurant.

I've been a fan of Sonoma since it opened -- we go at least once or twice a month and often recommend it to others. On a typical visit, it's pretty close to a 5-star experience, but we are occasionally disappointed by either the service or the food (maybe 1 visit in 10). The venue is lovely. The dining area doesn't feel crowded, the bar area is chic, and I love that there are two patio options: the peaceful, shaded patio in back or the open, sunny front patio perfect for people-watching on Brookside. This is a definite go-to for happy hour. The cocktails and wines are excellent, and delicious appetizers are even more enjoyable at half-price! Consistent food favorites: corn chowder (try it - so good!!!!) crab cake (best I've had that isn't deep-fried) veggie sandwich (even though I'm a meat-lover) white pizza (seriously, one of the best pizzas in town - this has been a favorite for many, many years) I'm not sure when they started serving a weekend brunch menu, but I had never gone for brunch until recently, and was surprised and delighted to discover that Sonoma makes THE BEST WAFFLE EVER. I love waffles -- way more than pancakes -- but I almost never order them at restaurants because they always disappoint me. Not this time. Delicious flavor, cooked to crisp perfection, and served fresh with real maple syrup. Oh... and with a side of candied bacon. I can't even tell you. Just go try it this weekend. You're welcome.

Enjoyed our dinner at Sonoma. Started out with a moscow mule to drink. It was good! We went with another couple and had the buffalo fried calamari with bleu cheese dressing and the lump blue crab cake with chili lime aioli for appetizers. Both were really good. The calamari was different. My husband loved it. For main entrees we had the citrus and garlic chicken,, the ribeye with macaroni and cheese and the orange tilapia with grand marnier sauce. Everyone enjoyed their food and the service was good too. We will definitely be back. We booked our reservations on Open Table but it wasn't too crowded when we got there, went on a Saturday night. Fun atmosphere.

Their brunch (or what I had to say at least) was ok. Partially my fault for choosing something that I could've made at home. I got the Hardy Waffle. A waffle, candied bacon & fried egg. What I really should've ordered was the Crab Meat Omelette, for the simple fact it was different. I enjoyed the meal nevertheless, I just need to make sure I go outside of the box when it comes to me visiting places I've never been to before.

Buffalo calamari. Gooey blueberry butter cake will rock your world. Wine selection is great, food is great. They have a private room in the back. I love this place.

Sonoma is absolutely my favorite restaurant in Tulsa, OK. Everything is great, but the Citrus Garlic Chicken is my go to, almost every time. When, I do not get it, I am satisfied, but still want the CG Chicken. The only thing I have not liked is the buffalo calamari, some people love it, I do not. Love the atmosphere and prices are reasonable. Also good, that I have tried: lump blue crab cake, tomato bisque and seared ahi tuna. But Citrus Garlic Chicken, always. Perfectly juicy, tender and flavorful. My mouth is watering thinking about it.

The hubby and I wandered into Sonoma on Sunday to grab a glass of wine before dinner. I've been to Sonoma a few times before and have always had a consistently A-ok experience. They have a great patio from which to people watch and just enjoy a beautiful evening in Tulsa. The inside is cozy and pleasant as well. The service is great- everyone is always friendly and helpful. The food doesn't cut it for me. I can't speak for the meat but they have plenty of vegetarian options. For the most part though, everything has been really simple and boring. I've gotten a salad twice and both times the greens were starting to spoil. There's nothing less appetizing than slimy spinach in your salad. I've also gotten a hummus wrap once that I swear I made better in my college dorm room. It was ok, just not worthy of paying for at a restaurant. The desserts however are amazing. If you come to Sonoma, you MUST order dessert. The wine is limited. For a wine bar, I would have expected a lot more wines by the glass or at least some more interesting options. I think Sonoma is really a bistro that also serves a little wine. Sonoma is a great venue to meet up with friends, have a drink and definitely dessert. But if you're looking for a great meal or a delicious interesting wine, I would head elsewhere.

Went to Brunch at Sonoma on Sunday and was surprised that there were only 2 other tables besides us.(not a good sign) We were promptly seated by the hostess and then .................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... nothing. I finally had to get up, walk around an almost empty restaurant just to find someone to take our order. When she got to our table after being sent over, she acted kinda irritated. Our food was very good but this place did not make a good first impression so we I probably won't go back. Good service is as important as good food.

A long-time Tulsa restaurant with an excellent crab cake! Dare I say the best in Tulsa?!? The service is excellent with Tara behind the bar and Brian in management. While I haven't had the pleasure of trying everything on their menu, some highlights are the artichoke chicken pita, BBQ salmon tamale and lemon basil pasta with rock shrimp (also great with salmon!). Check this place out and have a glass of wine while you're at it!

I've been listening to the new JT album entirely too much. When I started writing this review I instantly thought of all the cool mirrors inside this cool Brookside spot -guess what song popped in my head? Yikes -don't tell my super indie friends. I would describe the atmosphere here as charming chic... like going to Napa! Inside there is a bar where you can hangout and a few good sized tables with a private area in the back for parties. On the patio, you can watch the bustling Brookside-ers. Perk to the patio: Pups are welcome! The menu is fantastic. I tend to always order the blackened chicken and avocado sandwich accompanied with sweet potato fries. The chicken on the sandwich has a unique and flavorful taste and is still tender with the blackened crust. When I'm out for a fancy night dinner and feeling meaty, I can never go wrong with the grilled skirt steak with gorgonzola - it's a supreme steak flavored to perfection making every bite beautiful! The drink list is not just limited to wine. Beer and cocktails are served as well that will quench the thirst of the masses. I tend to stick to a glass of Hahn merlot because it parirs wonderfully with my favorite menu items. Scrumptious food, full-bodied wine, and a patio for Mr. Olof? You can bet I frequent this Tulsan treasure!

We totally enjoyed our meal here. We started with the fried pickle appetizer.. Delicious, I loved the dipping sauces. The portion is huge, take a few people with you to share it. Their cocktail menu looked really interesting but since it calls itself a wine bar I went with wine. They had two proseccos on the menu so of course I had to try both. They were both fantastic. I had the veggie sandwhich for dinner and my husband got the burger. Not too original but both were prepared really nicely so I have no complaints. An excellent stop for our dinner in Tulsa.

On a cool crisp night in December driving in Tulsa looking for a drink / glass of wine our group found itself on Brookside. That's when Sonoma Bistro and Wine Bar appeared like a phoenix rising. Little did I know that the only thing rising was going to be my blood pressure. Where do I start; 1) Sorry I asked for a table to seat 6 people. Oh, u have to prepare a table that big. I had no idea large parties were frowned upon 2) When the bottle of champagne we order is sold out maybe apologize and recommend another similar. Not just say, "were out." Proceed with a blank stare. 3) FYI. Simply taking drink orders and bringing $40 bottles of wine and champs is about the easiest thing you can do. Oh and by the way more profitable than the food your serving. 4) Refilling water...... Apparently were in a drought because water was being rationed just like your hospitality. Simply stated this was one of the worst service experiences we had ever had. The fact that our presence was treated as a mere inconvenience was comical. Simply stated this is the McDonald's of wine bars. Good luck if you ever venture to this place.

I really want to give Sonoma 3.5 stars. It's different than I thought inside, but very good overall. I'm used to Dallas wine bars where the atmosphere is dark, classy, and looks expensive even if it's not. However, I was the only one wearing heels at Sonoma. Most people were in casual outfits, and the atmosphere was pretty basic. The bar area looked nicer and darker than the rest of the place, so sit there if you want more of a nicer feel. I'm NOT taking off stars because of this factor though, just wanted to point it out. Anyways, the food was pretty good, but a couple of things made it go from 4 stars to 3 stars instantly. I had the pasta primavera, which was good except it tasted like someone squeezed a lemon all over it. I could tell the dish would have been an A+ meal without the lemon juice taste. My boyfriend ordered a medium-done steak, and I understand it's hard to cook steaks exactly as requested, but this thing looked like it was just cut off the cow and bleeding like crazy (sorry to be so graphic). He's a true meat eater and could barely stand the site of the meat upon cutting. The wine list was good. I saw an earlier review that said the wine selection is expensive, but the wines started at $5.50 per glass and went to $11 per glass. It was the cheapest wine menu I've ever seen! I can't remember the name of it now, but I had the $10 Cab, and it was so good. They have 7-8 different Cabs on the menu, all with different prices for any budget. I've heard such great things from friends about this place that I would like to go back and try other dishes. It's inexpensive too. You can order a small or large portion of many items, but the large is only a few dollars more, so why not order the large and take home the leftovers for another meal? Hopefully I have better luck next time!

I have had several varied experiences here. The wine selection is good and wait staff is consistently helpful with good choices. Some food has been amazing and other times it is simply okay, but never a bad experience. The prices are decent but not amazing. However, the blueberry gooey cake is worth its own trip (Its as good if not better than it sounds).

I've been coming to Sonoma for some time now and I still think this place is great. During weedays from 3-5pm you can get half-off appetizers, so it's a good option for a small plate and a cocktail or two. Later in the evening they have a trunkated menu of their pizzas and flatbreads, which are all very good. It's a great place to go with some friends for a glass of wine and some pizza if you are looking for a nice and quieter place instead of a bar. The rest of the menu isn't bad either, I highly recommend the grilled cheese with the tomato bisque soup...try it as an appetizer if you have 4+ people so all can enjoy! Features: Outdoor patio in front and back Wine selection Great for a drink and a nosh

Returned on weekend night. Cobb salad and skirt steak were both good (though the skirt steak was prepared so-so this evening - should be medium/ well +), but some places don't quite get it there. Oh and they've gone and messed with my streusell! It was not soft and cakey, but rather hard ginger snaps topped the dish. The berries were not as plentiful as when we last fell in love. Still, good vibe and recommended food.

I went here for the first time with my boyfriend on a Tuesday so we got right in without a reservation. Our waitress wasn't overly friendly but the service was good and we had no complaints. They have a pretty good wine list with a range of prices depending on how much you want to spend. I had a $6 glass of pinot grigio and it was very enjoyable. I noticed that they also had an interesting cocktail menu with several drinks I'd love to try next time. We shared a caprese salad that was really good although the mozzarella lacked a bit in flavor. I ordered the citrus and garlic chicken with roasted red potatoes and spinach, which was to die for. The chicken was so tender and the flavor of the sauce was perfect. Not too strong and not bland, just light and delicious. My boyfriend had the blackened chicken and avacado sandwhich with sweet potato fries and liked it very much as well. Then, we made the mistake of ordering the apple crisp. Sounds delicious right? Hard to mess that one up, but it was awful. Probably the worst dessert I've ever had. It was so bland, and the cinnamon streusel that was supposed to be crumbled on top was just a giant flavorless burnt tasting cookie stuck on top of the vanilla ice cream. We took a few bites and couldn't do anymore. What a waste. We had a different dessert in mind after looking at the online menu but the menu at the restaurant was completely different so that was disappointing. There was definitely some yummy ones on the website that we would have loved to try. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and can't wait to try other things on the menu, but next time we'll definitely order a different dessert.

This place is adorable! The menu is comprised of various sandwiches, salads, gourmet pizzas, flatbreads, and meaty entrees. All of which are good wine compliments :) The hummus flat bread is to die for. Fresh ingredients made to order...you can't be that. The wine is a bit expensive, but being on Brookeside what do you expect, right? This place is definitely a keeper.

My wife and I have been to this place a couple of times and though I must admit the first time we came here it was half decent. However, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th times here it just got worse and worse. Last night was no exception! We were seated on the patio at around 7pm. The waitress ace and took our order around 710pm. I ordered the burger, my wife a ceasar salad. Well...we waited...and waited...and waited...now it's 8pm and no food. We had to make a 830 pm movie so we were kind of miffed how this could take so long. The waitress was so rude and not once did see even acknowledge us or apologize when we mildly complained about the long wait. The manager approached us and said that the food order was put into the kitchen at 723pm and that it must have been because there are other people in the restaurant too! Really? That's the reason? Lol..he never offered anything or even apologized for the wait until we told him that it wading of a long wait for a burger and a salad. We never complain, but the way that it was handled was just weird. He ended up taking care of the meal after. After that the server told us we were free to go. I've never been dismissed from a restaurant before! Ha! Anyhow...the food here is only mediocre and the service was weird and not good at this visit. Everyone's experiences are different so judge for yourself whether you like this place or not. I've given it many chances and this one was most likely my last!

I came here with a group of about 20 for a friend's birthday and maybe it was the size of my group or maybe the place is full of its self...eh. Our server took over an HOUR to get all of our drinks...INSANE and if I hadn't been with such a group and it had just been me and hubby I would've wanted to leave and probably would've. The food was good. I had the garlic and herb chicken and my husband had the veal piccata as well as the fried pickles appetizer. All the food was really good but I don't know if the food was good or all the sauce that they put on everything. Every single main entree that I saw was drenched in a sauce. You can't even taste what the actual meat or vegetables taste like. Good thing the sauce was good though. I love the atmosphere and I really liked the bar but they need to do something about the pathetic form their menu is set in. It looks like a work order. The visual appeal of their menu alone makes the entire setting of this bistro drop from a B rating to a C in my book. Over all it isn't worth the money.

Twice I went to have wine only. Both times the service sucked. Both times I was seated quickly, but it took forever for the server to come and ask us what we wanted. Both times I was on the verge of getting up and leaving. I won't go again. On a positive note, they have a pretty good wine list.

I love this place. The wine choice is good, the buffalo calamari is amazing, and the flatbreads are great! The service is good, and the buttery cake dessert thing is awesome. I have gone several times and been pleased on every visit. I would not suggest reservations on weeknights, but weekend nights you might get one just in case.

Could have ordered everything on the menu! Went around 6 on a Saturday and it was pretty empty. There was just two of us and we weren't trying to have a crazy dinner so the ahi tuna salad for me and the shrimp pasta dish for my for my friend. Like I said though, everything on the menu looked delicious! The salad was huge and perfect for a dinner salad. I have a peanut allergy and it wasn't listed that it had crushed peanuts on it but they quickly made me a new one with no problem! Great food and a fun spot for me and my friend. Service was a little slow taking our order and then getting our check to us. The decor could be updated a little to fit the feel of the menu but I still had a nice experience.

Still one of my favorite places to eat. The grilled skirt steak is a rich treat. The blueberry gooey butter cake may be the best dessert in Tulsa.
