This place is the best. From the wait staff (Melody & Amy) servers and the guys who are holding the signs out on the streets. The food is always hot fresh and enjoyable and I eat there probably two - three times a week.. I love a place where everyone is happy to see you and everyone there is just try to make an honest living.

My wife and I had breakfast this morning at Nelson's on Memorial. This was our first visit here although I had been a regular when they were located downtown and I was interested is seeing if the tradition continued. The menu had usual breakfast fare: everything from omelets and burritos to oatmeal. Still in place are the cinnamon roll and the super donut. We both ordered the Full Nelson (7.99), which consists of two eggs, any style, bacon or sausage, hash brown potatoes and three dollar sized pancakes. This was a good choice, plenty to eat and quite tasty. Add coffee and we were soon ready to face the day. I'm glad to report that Nelson's on Memorial is quality eats!

Legendary spot around Tulsa. The experience of eating at Nelson's is something that all Tulsans treasure. The chicken fry is GOOD, but not the best in the country as it is sometimes called (or even the best in Tulsa). This is just a very un-assuming cafe-style dining experience where you will pay a good price for a TON of comfort food and probably get some laughs along the way. There's nothing more enjoyable than the "Hello Chickenfry" shouts that greets a fresh batch fresh out of the fryer.

A Must Try!!! I was shown this lovely place by a Tulsan with pride in his heart for the city and great palate for local food. Please do NOT come here looking for low fat or diet food. This is a place you should enjoy yourself and the butter that accompanies it. The sides caught my eyes but the chicken fry is what you need to come for. Then finish it with pie. Do not be bashful about the rolls this is a place for you and your close friends to come and feast. Busy lunch crowd and worth the wait and the cash. Get in here because this is a slice of Americana.

So...my place of employment thought I should spend my day in the fair city of Tulsa. I thought I might as well enjoy some good breakfast. Insert Nelson's Buffeteria. This place was pretty damn good. I should know...I'm a breakfast guy...at least I think of myself as one anyway. After browsing the menu, I decided on the Half Nelson, which was an egg, pancake, and sausage...all for under $5. Not bad, right? Yea, I thought so too. I also added a biscuit and gravy...because...well...I like biscuits and gravy. The main plate was better than I anticipated, especially the sausage. All in all, it was really good, especially for the price. The biscuit and gravy was good. The biscuit wasn't soggy, and the gravy was a-ok. The service was among the best I have EVER had. Everyone was just amazing, which I appreciated at 8:00ish in the morning. In all honesty, Nelson's served me one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. (Nothing beats a good ol' home cooked breakfast, imo.) It's definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a good, filling, and cheap breakfast in Tulsa.

This is a Tulsa staple. Whether your just visiting or a long time Tulsa resident definitely stop in. The atmosphere takrs you back to Tulsas earlier days. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The portions are huge. Great food that really sticks to your ribs. The price is very cheap for the amount of great home cooked food you get. I highly recommend this place!

Nelson's is a Tulsa tradition since 1929, their sign says. It must be the food, which is simple and good. Everything on the buffet line looked inviting, from their specialty, chicken fried steak, to the Friday specials of catfish and salisbury steak. I had the chicken fried chicken. The boneless chicken in a crisp crust was tender and so moist! It was very hard to decide on the sides; both my husband and I chose macaroni and cheese, while I had green beans (soft and long cooked) and he had mashed potatoes and gravy to complement his chicken fried steak. The pies looked incredible, with huge meringue tops, and were going fast. We stopped in at Friday lunch and enjoyed the live Western swing music provided by the fiddler and guitarist tucked away in a little alcove right inside the door.

Comfort food at its finest! Great items to chose from Buffet style. Friendly staff and super attentive. My new favorite place to get chicken fried chicken or steak. The best part of the meal is the softball sized roll. It's very soft and delicious.

You go in. You look around and the crowd varies from poor to uber rich. You stand in line to order your food from guys who seem actually happy to slop food on your plate. And a whole lot of food it is! Then u eat it, and it is delicious! And you are happy to pay because you dont pay alot yet you ate alot. Can u imagine actually getting your money's worth and enjoying the food because it wasn't poisoned by crappy attitudes and horrible service? Imagine no longer because such a place exists here.

I have never heard of a buffeteria, so I had to stop in and try it. My friend Anna ordered baked cod, mashed potatoes, and spinach, and I ordered their "world famous" chicken fried steak with corn and mashed potatoes. The plates cost $8.69 each. Overall this food was amazing. The cod was flaky but not dry; moist but not soggy, and the chicken fried steak's crust was so crisp it came unbreaded when I stuck my fork in it. The corn was good, and the spinach tasted homemade. The yeast rolls were the common variety but at the next table over I was jealous of a delicious looking piece of cornbread. LIVE MUSIC greeted our entry at 1:15 on a Friday. I was impressed! Although it was past the lunch rush, the place was still packed, which is a great sign of repeat customers. I was pleasantly surprised by this place, and will tell everyone!

The food here was surprisingly great. I was searching for a brunch place, and I was starving, so when I passed the awesome neon sign I had to stop and try it out! The menu is your classic American breakfast/brunch fare. They have pancakes, eggs, hash browns, omelettes, steak, and chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy, and french toast. I ordered hash browns, scrambled eggs, and french toast, and was honestly blown away by how good all of them were. I mean, normally when I order eggs it's to get a bit of protein in my diet, but I ate every last piece of these! And the hash browns had some wonderful seasonings too. The french toast...let's just say I'd eat that every day for the rest of my life and be happy (though it may be a shorter life). The only downside was the waitress. I don't know if she was stressed out, or if this was her normal demeanor, but she was snippy verging on rude. Oh well. The food was delicious enough to make up for her!

Excited to try it and it was good only issue was stuff does not stay warm. Cornbread cold and could not melt butter. Gravy a bit cold too. I have experienced this all three times I have gone there. Service is GREAT!

I went here for breakfast after having a great experience for lunch and was very underwhelmed. Yes, everything was decent but it was nothing to write home about.
