Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Pros: the flavors here are probably the most authentic in the city. There is stuff on the menu that none of the other places have. My roommate has been looking for this lotus salad for years. My boyfriend and his brother like the vermicelli bowls and rice plates. I usually get the won ton soup. Weirdly extensive desert menu for an Asian place. Would have tried something, but we were stuffed. Cons: the same very sweet lady greets you, seats you, prepares your food, and rings you up. So you can imagine the service being slow, but worth the wait. The owner is nicer than any of my family members or friends.

Thos place is cozy and wait staff is friendly. I had the oven cooked chicken with soup. It was delish and portion was generous.

I have been to Mekong River several times and I have never had a bad experience yet. The food is excellent and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the Pho and their fried rice is very very good! Everything I have had has been excellent. I highly recommend this place!

Ate supper here last night, and the waitress was on point, couldn't be better, with many tables to take care of. I had the beef vermicelli salad, plus the beef soup. My wife had the 5 spice chicken plus fried rice. We shared some spring rolls in rice paper. Everything was wonderful.

Decent Vietnamese, but really should only be used as a last ditch effort- it's almost the only place to get Pho, etc. on a Sunday, in Tulsa. This makes it most worthwhile in that particular situation, for there is considerably better Vietnamese food to be had in the area.

Great food! Even sampled the wings - wow what a really different taste but amazing flavor with punch. Very friendly & responsive staff. I was probably the only non-Vietnamese customer for lunch, always a good sign. Worth a visit in Tulsa.

Decided to order take out. Wait took over an hour. WHAT!!?!?!?!?! Horrible service. No stars.

The food is actually pretty good. I love the curry and the pho is good, just a little on the smaller portion size. Service was nice but they need better lighting! It was too dark in there and so red. lol Overall, not bad.

This was my first experience with Vietnamese food. I had no idea how this would change my life. I loved this place. Came here so much. The Bun, Pho, Spring Rolls, fried Salt and Pepper squid...and so much more. Really a huge menu with awesome selections. Now that I live in LA, I truly spoiled when it come to Vietnamese. :) I introduced a ton of my artsy fartsy friends to this place...first it was Brian H. :) awww....

Very authentic Vietnamese flavors - I had no idea what I was tasting! Fortunately I thought the new flavors were delightful and we've been visiting about once a week since. Some family we've brought with us love it, others can't get past the newness. I think it depends on an adventurous taste palette. Favorite menu items: both kinds of spring rolls, the napoleon dessert, chicken soup, french diced steak, and most of all....the fried eggplant. It's to die for. The atmosphere is so-so, lanterns and giant pictures of Vietnamese fruit, there's always a TV on by the register. Wait staff is usually a friendly Vietnamese woman who owns the restaurant.

Interesting menu...they have true authentic Vietnamese dishes that I did not expect to see (thit coah - cooked glazed pork w/hard boiled eggs). They offer complimentary shrimp chips which was also another great surprise! The noodles dishes reminded me of what my grandmother used to make when I was kid..not as good as hers, but it was suffice enough to appease my craving. The service was your typical Asian dive...nothing great, but it got the job done.

Crappy service ... when the food came out it wasn't what I ordered then the lady claimed it WAS what I ordered. No doubt she confused me with another table. I honestly didn't think they where going to fix my order for a while there. When my pho did come out it had what looked and tasted like shredded lemongrass floating in it. Most unpleasant texture. Tried the place once before this debacle and had decent bin bo hue, hence two stars instead of one.

The food was fine, but I had a similar experience Scotty B did. I went fairly regularly until a few years ago. Waitress brought the wrong order, said I "ordered wrong," then tried to put her own tip on my credit card without telling me. That was it for me. I haven't been back since, although I probably should.

The food is fantastic. Best pho in town but the service is decent at best. It seems at times they are understaffed.

Went in for take-out on a weekend evening and was so busy they ran out of Thai basil. I ordered the Pho and spring rolls and got home to find another customer's order of seafood w/noodles. Overall it was good, but could have had more flavor/seasoning and the spring rolls did not contain enough meat. On the freshness level it was good.

Excellent Food!!! In a country where franchises and homogenized menus have taken over everywhere, Mekong River is a unique owner operated restaurant by a very courageous woman who literally escaped a communist regime by boat in the middle of night. Lisa ( the owner) introduced us to her wonderful cooking 15 years ago in another location and we have been a fan ever since. I can honestly say that the quality of the meals are consistently good, and I have never had a bad meal there in 15 years. We have experienced similar Vietnamese cuisine in cities like San Francisco, Kansas City, and Boston and have found her food at the very least on par (and usually better) than most places. The restaurant is always very clean ( a big issue in most Asian restaurants) and the ingredients that she uses are always fresh and high quality. The beef Pho is wonderfully fragrant and the best I have eaten anywhere and the Spring rolls are always fresh. One thing I am always impressed by is how the ethnic community supports their restaurants and through the years we have consistently observed Asians frequenting her restaurant which is an indication to me of an endorsement of the the authenticity and the quality of her food. If you are looking for "Olive Garden" type of food, or someplace with wonderful ambiance, this is not the place for you. However if you want world class deliciously filling food at very reasonable prices, you will never be disappointed here.

Pretty good Vietnamese noodles. I had a noodle bowl with beef and spring rolls. Everything tasted fresh and the beef was well cooked. I'd go again. The crab wontons were ok.
