Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

We stopped at La Roma Pizza during a cross-country a few years ago upon the recommendation of the desk clerk at our hotel... Oh my God, what a gem! It was a rather quiet Friday night in Tulsa and we had arrived well-past the dinner crowd. We had such personalized service from the owner, a very nice man who ran the place with his family. We thought 'how can this place be so quiet on a Friday night with food this delicious?' It was the middle of January though... We had a pizza, hummus and a few other bits and pieces. We also had a nice conversation with the owner, enjoyed our meal immensely, and left with a thoroughly great opinion of the place.

My friend and I joke that we aren't sure what they put in the pepperoni pizza, but it's hands down the best pepperoni pizza in Tulsa. It's our therapy..food therapy. Order the hummus to dip your crust in, you won't regret it!

I'm writing this review solely on the pepperoni pizza we had. We didn't get anything else because we were short on time. The pizza was so tasty and crispy. Not too much sauce or cheese, just perfect. The atmosphere was "mom and pop, Lebanon/Italian" style mix. The music was classic oldies. The staff and owners are so sweet and kind. It's an order at the counter concept. When you're short on time you can call In your pizza order and they'll start cooking it for you, then dine in. I've heard the tabouli is fantastically authentic and the hummus is great for dipping the pizza crust in. Will will have to try that next time.

This is the best falafel in Tulsa and it comes with a tahini not a tzatziki, vegan off the menu. Their baba ganoush is also good. Sure it's a pizza place but, don't let that deter you. There isn't a huge selection of vegan options, they have vegan soups sometimes but, it's sporadic.

This place is a great Tulsa gem. Local owned and operated by a wonderful family 3 generations work here. Great pizza try pepperoni top and bottom that's on top of the cheese and under the cheese.

Laroma Pizza is a family owned business that makes everything homemade. The tabouli is the best in town and lots of fresh parsley. . The hummus is really tasty too. The pizza's are delicious and they use quality ingredients. Also the chicken dinner called Tawook is grilled chicken with a homemade garlic sauce that is delicious and healthy. It comes with a cabbage salad and rice. They make really good falefel too. You order at the counter and it is a very casual atmosphere. It is a great place to place an order to take home. I always get a tabouli and hummus to go for the next day. The family that owns this restaurant is so friendly.

Just had Lebanese food but it was great. Shawarma was good. Curry pot pie was good. Cabbage rolls were excellent! Great complex flavor with that cinnamon/nutmeg or whatever it is going on in the background. Got 2 to go for eating at the hotel later on in my road trip.

I've been looking for a good mediterranean restaurant in town, and I was really looking forward to trying La Roma's Lebanese food. I also really want to find a good local, family-owned restaurant to patronize regularly and support the neighborhood. We went to La Roma about 45 minutes before it closed and were the only customers there. I guess I should have read the other Yelp reviews first because it was not what I expected. The place is an order-at the counter kind of restaurant and seemed to cater much more to pizza than Lebanese food. I don't mean to be harsh, but the space itself is so badly in need of a makeover--it felt kind of dirty and dingy even though I think it was technically clean. The family who owned the restaurant was camped out at various tables doing "family type" activities, such as homework, paperwork, and bills. I mean, it's their place and they can do what they want, but this really made me feel like an intruder in someone's home rather than a paying customer. Very uncomfortable. We ordered shawarma, tabbouleh, and a chicken gyro. Considering the whole family was in the dining room and the only guy in the kitchen was clearly not Lebanese, I am 99% sure that none of our food was freshly made. The tabbouleh was the most disappointing-- maybe we got a bad batch or something but it was like 99% parsley. That is NOT how tabbouleh is supposed to be. The shawarma and gyro were OK but not worth going back for. The foam plates and plastic silverware made the whole dining experience feel very cheap. It was also really unclear how you were supposed to get refills on things like water, as there was not a fountain out, and no one came by to check on us. We ate as quickly as possible and left. I have heard the pizza here is good, so maybe I will give that a try sometime via take-out. I also wonder if going less than an hour before closing affected the freshness of the food and our overall experience.

This is a nice little family own and ran pizza restaurant that just so happens to have greek food. We ordered a medium pepperoni and black olive pizza, and also started with a cabbage roll and a spinach pie. The cabbage roll was flavorful, containing more rice than there was meat. The sauce on top was good. Ordered the spinach pie which I thought was going to be spanikopita. Instead it was more of a hot pocket or a small calzone that contained a lemony and savory spinach filling. The pizza itself took awhile to cook and get to the table (about 25 minutes). The crust itself, while nothing overly fancy, was cooked nicely. It was crispy and buttery, almost like a cracker. The sauce is really good and the toppings are plentiful. This place is just down the street from me and I'll visit again. Definitely not a fancy place. But the owners and the atmosphere are nice.

Loved the food and the family style service. The food was fresh and they take pride in the food.

We were in town for a childs' birthday party and came in with a large group of people. Great food, EXCELLENT service, and the homemade sausage on the supreme pizza is second to none. I'll be visiting again.

So we came here for dinner tonight based upon reviews here on Yelp. The group was six of us. The pizza is awesome. The best pizza I have ever eaten? No. The best pizza I have ever eaten in Tulsa? Yes!!! And the Middle Eastern food was equally awesome. We had Gyro's, Cabbage Rolls, Meat Pies, and much more. And all of it was cooked very well and hand made. Will keep them on the list of places to go back to. Nothing greasy, very nice family run organization with awesome food.

Very very down home place to eat. I was in here a few weeks ago and you can tell they have a lot of regulars. Discussing a few menu items with a fellow patron while waiting in line I finally decided on the Lasagna, I wasn't in the mood for pizza really, and it turned out to be really good! It wasn't the best I've ever had but it still was good. The 5 stars is because the atmosphere if you like family owned places with regulars, La Roma is amazing. The patron I was talking too was just waiting to pay his bill but stuck around and talked to me for 15 minutes about pretty much everything on the menu and what I should get next time I'm in. The service is also amazing. A++ will be going back.

La Roma offers the best pizza I've ever had and the Middle Eastern selections are divine as well. . Fast, friendly and family owned, truly one of Tulsa's hidden gems.

This is possibly my favorite place to eat in the entire world. I love it that much. Every time I come home to Tulsa, I make everyone come here. I don't mess with the pizza, although it's excellent. I am there for the Lebanese food, which is AMAZING. The chicken tawook is what I compare all tawooks to. Nothing beats it. I dream about it. The shaworma, the kibbe, the kofta, all are amazing. The tabouli is authentic in that there's not a crap load of wheat in it and it's not greasy at all. The hummus rocks my socks. I even love the simple cabbage salad they give you with your meal. I was very saddened to learn about the passing of the owner. He always remembered me, as I have been coming here since I was about 13 years old. Such a kind man. The wife is still there and is still making awesome food. I can't recommend this place highly enough! Give them your business!

I'll go five stars on this one. I've been going here for over twenty years now. It used to be a "Vito's Pizza", which at one time in the mid eighties had several locations in the Tulsa area. Don't know exactly what happened to Vito's, But La Roma popped up right after Vito's shut down. In fact, if you look at their sign above the building, you will notice that the shape of the sign fit's the cursive lettering for Vito's and La Roma is just kinda squeezed in there. The last year has been a rough one for the La Roma family. And I do mean family. Almost everyone who works there is a member of the Azar family. The patriarch of the family, Rafat (R.J.), passed away suddenly a little more than a year ago. I'm sure his wife, Souhaila, still shows up now and then to work the counter. Yes, the pizza is fantastic. Thin crust, hand tossed, New York style pizza with a wonderful sauce. Definetly home made. La Roma also has a fantastic selection of Middle Eastern fare. While not a cuisine I really care for, those I know who have tried it have raved about. Hospitality wise, these people have always treated me as family. I don't get to go their very often, but they unfailing have remembered my family, from a grandmother who passed away 11 years ago to my kids from birth to today. This place is special. I don't think the decor has changed since the Vito day's (which explains the New York theme art) execpt for a growing collection of rave reviews posted on the wall.

Love eating here! The pizza is amazing and the people are always so nice! The crust is just perfect IMO, the sauce is semi sweet, and the toppings are quality. Do yourself a favor and go get a pie!

Yummy! I was so excited to find a Lebanese restaurant in Tulsa. I had a chicken plate and my husband tried shwarma sandwich and we ordered a side of felafel. Everything we had was delicious. I'm looking forward to going back again. I'd like to try the pizza but I have a feeling the Lebanese dishes will be too tempting.

I come to Tulsa about once every 6 months for business from San Diego. Each time about 2 weeks each trip. Last summer I was here and went to Laroma and they were closed for a month for family vacation. Last trip I just never made it over. Tonight was the night! First, super friendly service upon entering. Sure you roder at the counter and sit, but still, the person taking the order was super nice. One thing I don't get about these old school family restaurants is why the elders of the family are there. Besides the cook and the girl taking orders, 3 elder family members sat on the side of the restaurant chatting. They weren't doing anything, why are they there? I dunno. OK, atmosphere. Very quiet for a saturday night at 6:30 pm. There was one other couple there when I arrived, and one family came in while I was eating, and one guy came in for takeout. Could be the economy? Ordered a pizza with pepperoni, their homemade sausage and tomatoes. Really wanted wine to go with it, but they only had beer. OK. Pizza came out and it waqs tasty. Thumbs up. It was very sweet whcih the girl said was the sausage. Crust was good. This is odd, but the crust has atinge of a "store bought frozen crust" but it was still really good. Not sure how to describe it. Think about getting a frozen pizza ajd being very happy with the crust? Best I can say. Summary - Pizza was good to great, family owners seemed very sweet and nice, would liked to have an option other then beer - not sure why they don't have wine. I would have given them 4 stars, but I downgrade to 3 due to lack of wine, and the only plates they have to eat off of are styrofoam plates. If I am eating in I would really appreciate a plate of some sort. Pizza was good. I have another 10 days of my trip and might go again and try some of the Lebanese food. Not sure if I will have tome though. Please note, 3 stars on yelp = A-OK. This is not a negative review. Food was good, but atmosphere and drink choices could use improvement. Side note - they obviously use to have a salad bar as on is there, but it is housed now by books. I would have loved to have had a salad bar while waiting for the pizza, or even a side salad. None to be offered.

Very nice food. Pizza was crispy on the outside and nice and chewy inside with great ingredients. The desserts are fabulous & homemade. Will definitely be back for the Lebanese food. There is an old salad bar that is filled with kids games and books to occupy the little ones. Extremely family friendly, I felt like I was invited into someone's home. Well done.

Pizza, everyone has their fave in this town. I have tried the chains, the ones in BA and Bixby (Pretty good). However with that said most are unaware of this little joint turning out a true pizza that is always on point! This is a family run place that in my book serves a great pizza. The cheese is fresh homemade mozzarella, they put just enough sauce on the pizza and the killer homemade sausage is a must! This is not thin or thick style, it is the correct style! The crust is the perfect texture when you bite into it. OK why not the 5 star rating? Sometimes staff can be on the grouchy side. If you can look past that, you are in for a real treat. Before you rave about the other joints in town, check this place out 1st. You might even see me hanging in the corner with a big smile on my face eating a great pizza made with Lot's of love!
