Outstanding! If you visit Tulsa you must go here! Staff was very accommodating for a party of 50 with a bunch of 13 year old female soccer players from TN. This place rocks!

Excellent pizza, great service, good prices!!! This is the first pizza place that has impressed us in Tulsa! We brought family here from out of town and everyone enjoyed their meals. The waitress we had was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She informed us she had been working there since the restaurant opened, she was constantly making sure we were taken care of. I had a side spinach salad with raspberry vinaigrette, which was very good as was the Natalie Portman pizza! My son enjoyed the t-rex pizza and my daughter liked her plain cheese pizza. My husband loved the voodoo pie with Cajun chicken and spicy sausage. The crust was baked just right... a little crispy (not soft), which is the way we like it. We will definitely be back! Great place!!!!

Great place for pizza downtown... Wait, its the only place for pizza downtown. Decor is well done with a cozy warm atmosphere with music for the gen x crowd. Waitstaff is pretty average, but the pizza is great. Many different types of pizza including a cheeseburger pizza which sounds gross but is amazing. The beer prices are good and there are many TVs for watching the game. Not really set up for a sports bar atmosphere though. The wings are somewhat tasty for a non chain restaurant. A little small, but tasty nonetheless. The owner will probably swing by and say hi which is always a positive. He is a stand up guy in the downtown area. I receive their newsletter with specials and events for the month. If ur ever in the area, you wont be disappointed.

Seems to be my luck that I go to places when it's "dollar night" - all one topping pizzas are $5 on Tuesdays. That being said, the place was packed. But it was worth dealing with the crowd because they put out a pretty good pizza. With downtown options being pretty limited to "that 30 minute pizza chain", I didn't go in expecting much. What I found was good pizza with a great variety of toppings. Basil, roma tomatoes and fresh mozzarella...THAT is a pizza. And as good as I've had anywhere. Lots of "hip" names on the pizza to go along with the neighborhood but they back it up with the food. And the calzones looked AWESOME. Have to go back when the carnivore in me beckons.

Service is not good. It's Wednesday lunch time, the restaurant only 1/3 full. First of all, it took them 20 minutes to get the food ready, then they served to the wrong table. After a few turns my pizza finally arrived! It was not hot anymore. It's ok Pizza, not great as people rated!

The pizza was just the way I like it, crisp yet tender crust with lots of fresh toppings! The wings were great, not overcooked or greasy. Try them in Sriracha sauce which is my Husband's favorite. Fast and friendly service is always a plus. Cheap Miller High Life pitchers!

We were in town for a couple of days for a sporting event and I went to Joe Momma's because quite frankly they had good reviews and was one of the few places open for Sunday lunch. We got the large pizza with half T-Rex and half California Love. We also got the mild chicken wings. The chicken wings was ok but the pizza was great. We especially loved the California Love (being from California ourselves). The cheese was gooey, the spices were just right and the chicken (extra $ but well worth it) was delicious. We had an hour before our flight so we asked for things to do. We eventually ended up at a retro arcade our server suggested which was a blast from the past. All in all, I would recommend Joe Momma to any friends/family visiting Tulsa.

Pizzas are good. Not a bad place to go and have a drink over some food. waitress was nice and took great care of us. I think her name was heather. I had three servers in tulsa that were named heather, so I'll go with that.

Their menu has a lunch special for "any two slices." However, it turns out "any" means "the three or four kinds we bothered to make today." On the day I went, that meant that the only vegetarian selection was cheese. I haven't bothered to go back when there are other, better choices like Pie Hole and Hideaway.

Great pizza served late. The food is good. The service is great and they're open really late. It's one of the few places in Tulsa where you can get a meal after 10pm. They also have some pretty sweet old video games and pinball machines.

Tulsa's best pizza by the slice joint. Great place to go after a late night. They have trivia nights which are always fun and usually are accompanied by beer specials. Go for dinner and get a whole pizza, they have some great pies.

My buddy and I were looking for something different and decided to have dinner at Joe Mamma's. We arrived on 05/04/2015 at 7:34pm and were seated promptly. A few moments later our drink order was taken and delivered by a nice waitress. Our waiter arrived a few moments later and asked if we knew what we wanted and we asked for a few more minutes to look over the menu. I decided fairly quickly, my buddy was not sure and needed longer. As I waited for him to make a selection I sat and "people watched". It was then that I observed our waiter constantly running his hand through his long hair and rubbing his face and beard, followed by picking up orders and delivering them to customers. It was not a one time deal; he was constantly running his hand through his hair and rubbing his hands all over his face and in his beard, and then touching plates and food. He then arrived back at our table and ask if we knew what we wanted yet, my buddy ask for the check to cover the drinks (we had not touched our sodas) and were told no charge, we then left the store. I cannot express how unsanitary this is. We'll not be returning to Joe Mamma's

I got The Oklahoman this time around. Really good! Bbq sauce, pulled pork, hot link & cheddar cheese. I'm a sucker for bbq pizza, & this did its job. I had them add bacon to it since I don't like onions, it took the pizza to another level.

Great casual spot to grab a variety of pizza options, spicy wings or deep fried mushrooms. They always have cheap beer on keg and local beers. Open mic night provides fun entertainment for those slow Monday nights on the town. If you find yourself wondering Downtown, drunk and hungry on a late weekend night make you way to this joint for cheap pizza by the slice and fellowship.

Good food, especially in an awful town of Tulsa. The staff was very unfriendly and wouldn't even answer a question. Waitress was not very fun and made the trip worse and not better.

So we were sitting around on a Friday evening drinking the red wine and decided to order up some pizza. After 3 more hours of cutting up, drinking the wine & 5+ failed attempts to get the pizza we decided to visit Joes Moms place and got us a ride. Now just because we were hammered drunk on the pinot by then we decided to make things worse and ordered a round of PBRs & "The Oklahoman" pizza. The waiter cautiously took our order despite our confusion about space & time. He then backed away from us at the table so the room could spin at our leisure. Man that BBQ, pulled pork pizza was goood!!! We absolutely tore into that thing like hyenas into a wildebeest I tell ya!! There was a mess of onions & hot link parts going everywich-a-way. I ended up having to drink all the barley pops myself as we slaughtered up the pizza like savages. When came time to make our escape we sent away the waiter guy with the monies and I made my typical "walk to the restroom and back just to see if I could do it" routine. I had me a decent look about & the establishment in general had a really good atmosphere. I was amazed at all the identical twins that had decide to come on the same night & eat. They were at every table along the six walls I remember seeing as I walked back to the table and they all seemed to be having a very fine time. Just an amazing coincidence of nature I reckon. Of all the pizzas I only partially remember eating this was the best one ever & I would absolutely recommend it to anybody, even if they have full control of their facilities & gravity.

STILL CLOSED DUE TO FIRE (tuesday, August 25) Ummm, we tried to go tonight, however you see the above. I would call in advance to see if they are open. I had to give them these stars to leave the post. Uh, feel like a dork. I just saw another post regarding their closure

Went here for a few beers and to try the "Incinerator" Pizza. Beers were cold and the place was packed. Service was very very slow.. I sat at the bar so I thought service would have been efficient but oh well I just drank more. If you like hot and spicy try the Incinerator - if you eat it all you get your name on the board and a tshirt - I ate all but one piece because I couldn't finish because I felt like I was going to get sick... I didn't get my name on the board but they gave me a tshirt for trying..lol - I cant really comment on the quality of the pie because All I could taste was HEAT.. it is hotter than hell!! I would go back to try a regular pie if I ever go to Tulsa again. FYI Parking sucks!

My cousin and I visited this eatery today and we both enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great and the pizza is divine. In my option, it is second only to Andolini's and that's saying something! The pizza's crust was perfectly cooked and the cheese was rich and gooey. Joe Momma's had Star Wars photos all over the walls which were awesome to look at. My inner Star Wars geek girl exploded with happiness! They have specials every night of the week, including Tuesdays where you can get pizza for 5.00! We will be back.

If you know me you know I like the McNellies group. These restaurants are always fun, hip and serve more than decent fare. The guy who owns it pours his heart out into Tulsa and each restaurant he has offers something unique and worth checking out. This pizza joint is fun and reminds me of what hideaway used to be. This is a fun family atmosphere with REAL hippies making your pizza. The fried pickle appetizer is truly the best I have had. Sour, a bit spicy and very peppery. These set the standard for what I like in my fried pickles to this day. The pizza is some of the better if had but there are some heavy contenders in the area. Sunday morning they offer a discount to folks who bring their church bulletin in with them. Now you have a reason to take your family for a great time in down town.

This is a cool place and I love the atmosphere. After eating here a couple times, the stand out menu items to me are the fried mozzarella and the chicken nachos for an appetizer. I believe the mozzarella is made in house and it shows. The nachos are my favorite. It's probably sacrilegious to order only nachos at a pizza place, but next time I would order the nachos for my meal. As far as the pizza goes, my favorite is the Chicken Bacon Ranch. I've had the T-Rex and Cheeseburger and they were both good but the Chicken Bacon Ranch is my favorite. We have always had good service here and it's a great spot to grab a slice after drinking downtown.

This place is quite enjoyable. Their fried mushrooms are a must and they are the one thing here that I think you get your money's worth. The mac and cheese dish is tasty but a bit expensive for the amount you get. The pizzas are quite tasty but also a buck or two more than I would like to pay for them. The open fire baking of the pizza does give it a nice crust. Regardless of the cost, this is a place we will be coming back to. This was our fourth visit here.

Joe Momma eats here a lot! When it comes to dowtown pizza places, this is the one to visit. They have so many choices of toppings. You can create your own or choose from the menu. My pizza of choice is the "Natalie Portman." So Yummy and always consists of fresh ingredients. I always order a side salad with raspberry vinaigrette. I like that the salad is always green. Joe mommas is a great place for any crowd. The outside of the restaurants greets you with a Marquee that lists events and specials. When you walk in you will be hynotized by the people behind the glass twirling pizza and tossing it in the oven. The dining area is quite large. they have a stage and have musicians regularly. Joe Momma's also hosts a kids day on Saturdays as well as trivia night on Thursdays. If you look behind the stage, there is extra space that contains the bus from the Bell's Amusement Park ride called "Phantasmogoria." Go look at it for a piece of most Tulsan's childhood.

Visiting Tulsa. This was the only place on a Saturday that didn't have a 60 minute wait. For gods sake, don't get the bacon cheeseburger pizza, the sauce is made with/of mustard. It's like mustard conquered it's goal of ruining every sandwich on earth, and now they're going after pizza too. I would have not eaten it if I wasn't on the verge of starvation by the time it got there. They have a great selection of beers. Standard downtown pizza place.

This is probably the best pizza around in downtown Tulsa. Wednesdays are $5 pizza nights which usually brings out a crowd. The seating area is a little tight but if you are looking for something cheap and chill, it is not a bad choice. The bar area is pretty small and has only a few barstools if you happen to get a drink there while waiting for your table. Visited November 2014

I've been able to eat here once in four years or so. It isn't for lack of trying, the fiance and I call this place up every now and again and ask if they have all the ingredients on hand to make a vegan pizza. They have had the necessary ingredients exactly once in the 4 years. Vegan pizza is listed on the menu, that we have to call to make sure they can make menu items is ridiculous. That they have been able to supply a menu item only once in 4 years is beyond ridiculous. The problem continues to worsen, the fiance and I have been invited to group functions here by thoughtful people who see vegan options listed on this spot's menu. So, this joint gets money from well intentioned groups without actually delivering on what the menu offers. That they never have the ingredients to make vegan pizza, yet leave the option on the menu, at this point seems calculated. Why not take a group's money for apps and booze? Most of the group will stay and order pizza. Why let a group with vegans get away? That vegan food is never actually available shouldn't be a reason, just list vegan options on the menu! What does Joe Momma care if a minority of the group has to go to another place to actually eat real food? I cannot express strongly enough my distaste for this place and their cynical continued listing of vegan options.

Wait staff does a great job. Hostesses need work on being a little more friendly. Fried pickles are a hit and miss but the pizza's are great. Love the selection. Love the atmosphere. Who doesn't like the fact you can color on the tables? All in all a great pizza place.

I was headed here for some pizza but after looking at the menu decided to try the calzone. It was by far the best decision I could have made. (I'm sure the pizza is delicious too). I got the large classic calzone and it was LARGE! The taste was great and the crust was phenomenal!! I will definitely be back. Well done!

My boyfriend, one of our roommates and I went to eat here last night. Being we just moved to Tulsa from AZ a week ago, we haven't been to many restaurants in Tulsa yet...We actually found this place while adventuring around. The atmosphere was welcoming and fun, the staff was super nice, and food was amazing. They have a lot of different specialty pizza's that all sounded unique and delicious. Our food took a while to get to us (which I didn't really notice) and our server was very apologetic. He ended up comping our whole meal...It was very clear that they care about their customers. Definitely will be back and will absolutely recommend.

The place was empty, which made us pretty suspicious. Service was good. Fried pickles were OK, pretty greasy. Pizza was the star of the show. Hand tossed crust, fresh toppings, well priced. A lot of beers on tap. Large TV. Blue Dome district so access to other night life right outside the door. If you are looking for good pizza you will get that, not so sure about other menu items. Highly recommended by the locals.

Unprofessional staff. Seemed like mom and dad were out of town and the step kids were holding the fort down. Waited 20+ minutes for 2 slices and then had to bus our own table to sit down and eat. An on duty police officer came up behind us so we let him go ahead, but other patrons & employees let him stand there for 20 minutes in line before getting served. Would rather eat a frozen pizza than deal with the staff here again.

Yesterday evening, 9/28/14, we came here for great pizza. There was a hefty crowd for a Sunday afternoon/evening. We should've stayed at the fair & ate the food there- we were jinxed! I doubt I ever come back to JM's. I've eaten here twice before & it was good but yesterday was the icing on the cake. We started off with an appetizer which was tasty: fried mozzarella with red sauce, side Caesar salads again, which were tasty (except doused in dressing so if you're counting calories or only like a light touch of salad dressing like moi, beware) & finally, sausage pizza. It literally tasted like a Tonys frozen oven pizza. No taste! No taste! Cooked to 'crispection', like perfection but crispified to death. Oh, we had 1 person at our table who ordered wings that didn't come until we were literally wiping the crispified crumbs off our mouth. This mini adult said the wings were horrible. Maybe it was the pizza cook last night. Maybe it's just bad pizza & service. Anyhow, if you go, don't get the tasteless sausage or wings, seriously.

The service and pizza was second to none. This is one of the few pizzas that I have eaten where the crust has outstanding flavor like a stick of garlic bread!! The vibe is upbeat and positive and you can occupy the kiddos with retro stand up video games while you visit!

I came here for lunch on a weekday, and the service and food were both good. Our waiter was extremely friendly, and he answered all of our questions and kept our drinks replenished while cracking jokes. It was convenient to split a pizza and split the check, as well, so it's a good option for dinner or lunch with a group. The Golden Driller was pretty good. The pizza wasn't as amazing as I remembered it to be, but it wasn't a bad slice. A large has 10 slices, which fed 3 people in our case.

Man vs Food Tulsa is the reason we came here, heard of the inferno pizza. Did not want to try it...way too hot. So first ordered bruschetta, Wow that was awesome. The bread was soft put with balsamic vinegar with tomatoes. This was one of my favorite bruschetta. Onto the main meal, ordered there popular dish pizza Lucky 7 it was a supreme pizza sausage, pepperoni, green pepper, onions and mushroom, not to bad. Crust was descent. Overall I would eat here again, if I come back.

After a nice night at Tree House, we thought we'd grab some pizza at Joe Momma's before heading home. It was around 1, 2 AM, & the queue extended all the way to the entrance, but we thought we might as well wait because 1 of us saw the place featured in Man vs. Food. There were 6 of us (3 guys, 3 ladies), & as we stood there, I felt a hand on my hip. The guy started talking about how he worked there, showed us his ID & everything. He said he could take us straight to the front of the line, & promised us 2 free boxes of pizza. He did all of these. Hmm, a guy with follow through. I should've introduced him to my mother. Fortunately, nobody complained that we were allowed to cut in line. Unfortunately, I don't remember how the pizza tasted..so I guess this is more of a heads-up to the ladies going to Joe Momma's. The visit to JM also made me realize what I allowed to happen (that is, let the guy rest his hand on my hip) for 2 free boxes of pizza for my homies. I don't really say homies, but what would I possible do for 10 free boxes of pizza? Not sure I wanna know. I think the pizza wasn't anything too magnificent; otherwise, I definitely would've remembered the taste - as I do with some stuff I ate over a decade ago, like this ravioli I bought in Brooklyn in 1999. I wouldn't mind going back to Joe Momma's, though. I know it's the perfect place in Downtown Tulsa for a slice of pizza to soak up all the alcohol in your system, after a night at Tree House or wherever. Plus there will always be the idea that the place was featured in Man vs. Food, so the pizza must be super awesome. Hopefully, you won't feel a hand on your hip, too, when you visit.

We totally lucked out finding Joe Momma's. It wasn't out first choice as both McNellie's and Guapo's had a 45 minute wait at 7pm on Wednesday.. apparently I underestimated Tulsa! We had a group of 9, so they said it would be a few minutes before they could have our table ready.. this was fine, so we wandered over to the bar. Unfortunately, they were either understaffed or not working the bar because we stood here for the 10 minute wait for our table without getting any service. Oh, well... We were getting a table without a major wait, so it was still a win. The drink service was really slow (but liked that they had Marshalls on tap), but we had a different waitress for our food and that came out with no issues! I split the Natalie Portman (with no olives) with a friend. I wasn't super hungry, but was super happy I didn't just go with an appetizer because this pizza was surprisingly really good. It had tons of veggie and feta, but it wasn't heavy at all. I mean, it certainly wasn't a salad, but it didn't make me feel guilty in the slightest :) It was refreshing and just dripping with toppings, not cheese. I'd order this pizza again in a heartbeat and despite the slow start, Joe Momma's is a big win in the Blue Dome district.

What a cool name for a pizza place. The sign outside has sort of a movie theater vibe to it. Walking in you see a few arcade machines and a dimly lit, yet narrow room. To the right there's a huge kitchen with tall panes of glass where you see the staff make pizza and joke around. Very interesting staff to say the least. I didn't come here to eat and just came with a friend who wanted to smell the pizza and have a few drinks. We were seated at the bar which was fairly small and had a few beer taps and a small shelf showing off a few drinks they offered. After we requested a drink menu it appeared that they have a huge list of beers they offered. Most of the beers were craft/micro brew beers, so there was plenty of choice for the beer snob. Prices I would say are too expensive. Most of the beers were more than 4-5 dollars. So you can't really drink much without blowing up your wallet. I had what appeared to be a local beer. Had a Marshall Wheat beer. The order to put in and get our beers served felt like it was forever. Perhaps it was because we weren't eating at the time. There are a few TVs, and one large projector setup on the back wall. So if you're a sports fan, you can check up on scores and watch a game. Eventually my friend gave in and ordered a personal 8" pizza that had beef and sausage. Pizza came out fairly quick about 10 minutes. It did look good and looks like they use fairly fresh ingredients. Price seemed high for what you get here at this restaurant. Overall I wasn't too impressed, but it's something different than going to a chain pizza joint.

Is the food any good here? What about the near-beer selection? I have no idea. Several of us tried to dine here after Pearl Jam including several of the event staff. We arrived at 11:30 to a place with a posted closing time of 12am. We were ignored for 15 minutes at the hostess stand, in an attempt to get us to leave I think. Finally, some backward-capped tat-sleeved townie approached to tell us (all 20-25 people waiting) that the restaurant was closing soon and that we needed to leave because they would not be serving us. I'm guessing they threw away $500 of revenue (or more). Let me explain this for all the millenial service industry: the posted closing time is not when you lock the door and go home, it's when you stop admitting patrons. If you want to leave at midnight, then lock the door at 11.

Joe Momma's is a fantastic downtown restaurant - great, fun atmosphere in the heart of the Blue Dome District with awesome food! I have the Mac and cheese every week when we play Live Event Trivia. It's one of my favorite macaroni & cheeses in the whole city! Baked with lots of cheese, served with toasty, seasoned breadsticks & ranch dressing... Doesn't get much better! If you're not a Mac & cheese fan, I highly recommend the buffalo chicken pizza or Nathan's Unlikely Marriage... YUMMM!

I've got a new favorite here at Joe Momma's...the Momma Goes Greek, which is a delightful mix of toppings that include tomato slices, pepperoncinis, artichoke hearts, black olives and feta cheese. YUM!

Sure Adam Richman has been here, but every time I go I just want to be impressed. . . but I never really am. The pizza is extremely pricey ($18.95 for a three topping 14"). The service is somewhat slow and frankly the pizza isn't that great. They have all these speciality pizza's they seem to be focused on being spicy rather than flavor full. At time's I've ordered a pizza and the toppings are minimal. Last night I ordered a 12" pizza with salami, mushroom and olives. All the toppings were there in acceptable proportions, but there was hardly any cheese...which kind of ruins pizza. The crust was nicely cooked, but there was something in the oven or something in the pizza that gave off a burned chemical taste (I'm thinking burned cornmeal on the bottom of the pizza or some burned spices). I've had better luck with the calzones than with the actual pizzas. I'd maybe go back for 50 cent wing night on Monday's. Or if it's one of those nights when I'm downtown and really need pizza (they do offer pizza by the slice late night) I'd keep it mind, but otherwise there are better pizza places in town.

  • John J.

This is the perfect place to hit up after a late night in the blue dome because it's open past two and they serve it by the slice. The pizza is as good as any chain (although nothing particularly special) and the beer is reasonably priced. They're pretty good about having events, such as trivia night. We even found a beer bucket special that the waitress hadn't heard of. My only complaint is that I always feel super-cramped in there. I really hate little tables. One time the group after us wanted special toppings on their late night pizzas but the server wouldn't do it; I think they try to just serve up three or four different pizzas late at night so everyone can eat in a timely manner. (We were there on a Saturday night and the line moves quickly enough, but builds out onto the street from everyone who left the other bars.) Overall, definitely someplace you need to try out.

10 beers on tap, and dozens of bottled beer to pick from: good pizza too (after a couple of beers I must admit). I ordered the R-Rex: pork in all forms on a pizza, right out of the oven. It was good, not great, I liked the thin crust. Place gets loud, but who likes a quiet pizza joint. Service is slow, very slow, hence the two beers. Or maybe that's deliberate LOL

Great wings, pizza, and baked pastas! We drove into Tulsa late and a few people recommended we hit this place for dinner. It was not very busy at 10:30 at night, which was good for us and our car-bound, road tripping kids. The staff was very friendly and let them draw all over the paper table cloth and gave them raw dough to play with. baked mac and cheese and caesar salad came out quick and was devoured instantly. Next was tons of wings, garlic parm (kids), hot, judgement day, and sriracha... All were excellent, but I was surprised that sriracha was hotter than judgement day. Our pizza was wood fired and great, and we even got the "dirt cup" for dessert which the kids loved. Local beer selection was very nice, and it was a very comfortable visit. Would definitely return!

Joe Mamas After a day of Route 66 Marathon expo madness and the 50 State Marathon Club meetings, a bunch of us headed over to Joe Mamas for dinner and there was a bunch of us there! It was a reunion of sorts for everyone involved, but my own group got their late and it was already jammed packed. The wait was 30 minutes, so we wrote our reservation down and waited at the bar till a table was available. We eventually got the table in between the outside door and the inside door, which was quite interesting, but not unheard of. I just wanted food and I was kind of starving. The service was not that awesome, since they had a full on crazy house in there that night, since understandably, it's Route 66 marathon weekend! The server was awesome, since I was in a hurry and she processed my check within 5 minutes and I was out the door . I eventually had the voodoo pie, which was basically a spicy chicken type of pizza. I had the medium size and I actually took down the entire thing one sitting! Either I was famished or I just wasn't thinking all that much, but I did it. It was awesome. Not much about this place that can tell you that Isn't good. Recommended if you like the whole pizza and beer thing. Be prepare to wait a while, since I heard that this place is pretty darn bad ass. The pizza was mildly spicy, so it was nice. The others in my group had ordered the Betty White pizza and a pesto type pizza that looked good when it came out. Eventually when they were done eating and there was some slices left, I took it upon myself to finish and taste test what I had been missing. Both pizzas were good, but I think the voodoo pie was insane too. Too bad I didn't get it more spicy than I did. Overall, this place rocks and glad that we all ate here.. A few of my friends posted PRs at the Route 66 marathon after eating here, so that's a good thought to ponder. Prices are a bit pricey compared to the national pizza chains, but it is well worth it, when you come here with friends and share fun times and beer together. Parking can be found on the street - at least that's what we did - and walked on over. Support local! B+

This weekend I decided to give Joe Momma's a second chance. My friend and I came by and decided to order two slices of pepperoni pizza. There were pizzas sitting out that they got the slices from.. and they looked a little sketchy. When I saw the waiter attempt to scoop one of the slices up he had to hack away at it a bit because it was stuck to the pan... due to massive burns on the bottom. When he put it on the plate I could tell he was pretty uncomfortable giving my friend a burned slice of pizza (with two large holes in it due to the burns) that looked horrible. So he hacked away at another slice (also burned) and put it on top of my friends original slice... so my friend got not only one, but two lovely burned, inedible slices of pizza! My slice of pizza did not have holes in it, but it was very burned. The crust was hard to eat because it was so brittle and black. I really couldn't believe they sold those pizzas to us. And I'm not even that picky about pizza! So it's decided, I will never be coming here again. It's a shame too, because so many people seem to like this place.

The pizza was better than average, but not tremendous. Service was mediocre, but in all fairness we were a huge group of 30+ and they only assigned a single server.

My husband and I just took his daughter there she wanted pizza I've heard great things so we went horrible service the pizza was ok way over priced we got her a kids pizza which was on french bread she didn't want it so we got her a normal cheese pizza she ate 1 piece and refused to eat more didn't want to take it to go I tried it... it was like eating a box just bland and they were dead and we were in there an hour in a half if not longer and we had plans afterwards but had to cancel due to time! Our server was so rude she acted as though we were a huge inconvenience and ruined her day.... I always say please and thank you but she was still extremely rude... she was texting and eating so I guess we ruined her plans!!!! I WILL NEVER RETURN THERE!

Worst service and pizza ever. Maybe it was a bad night for them but it was horrible. I always try to take things into consideration but it was simply awful. My boyfriend and I went there after the Garth Brooks concert on 1/16/15. They had several pizzas already made and ready to be warmed up. The pizza looked like it came from a frozen pizza box and was left out over night. Very little sauce, very little cheese. I gave it the benefit of the doubt. We ordered sausage and cheese. It was way too crispy and the taste was awful. McDonald's would have been a better choice. As for the service. Very unprofessional. Several employees seemed to be more concerned with the music they were playing then anything else. Plus it was very unprofessional, in my opinion, for one employee who I'm guessing was off work, brought her beer up to the register to help load the paper for receipts. Then when you ask for a beer they said they didn't have a person with a liquor license there. And on several of the tables (as they were all covered with trash and food. There were also beer bottles), so did the bartender just walk out or what? Really weird. And then to top it all off as we are eating on a small section of a table that was clean. One of the employees walks to the back while smoking an e-cigarette. I realize that's not as bad as a cigarette. But really? That's very unprofessional. Basically I felt like they were very dirty and possibly breaking health code regulations. Wouldn't recommend this place. Unless maybe you're drunk and you don't care what you're eating...

If ur downtown to hit the bars u must stop in for a slice if this pie one of the top pizzas I've ever had my wife and I liked it so much we got a pie to go the staff is super cool and controls the flow of drunk people very well we will make this our go to place when down town

My personal pick for best pizza in Tulsa. Order the Betty white, the golden hurricane or actually any of their specialty pizzas. I've tried most of them and they are all amazing. Start with mamas bread! Yum!

Being a visitor to the Tulsa area, I was really impressed with the pizza here. They were extremely busy, yet our waiter was very attentive, kept our drinks refilled, and we didn't have to wait too long for our order. Absolutely delicious. Pretty cool environment too. I love the way they designed the place.

I was out in Tulsa for work and we stopped here after a minor league baseball game. Damn. This was some good pizza. I love Ma Pa pizza places and this one knocked it out of the park. Great cheeses and sauce, perfect seasonings. Small place. Would recommend for sure.

The chicken wings were okay very crispy but the pizza on the other hand was eck! It was just bland! It had sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, onions, peppers and so on on it but its like they didn't season it at all! The atmosphere however was very cool, I loved the ceiling lights and what not.

The pizza is ok but I've definitely had better (not in Tulsa yet but I'm still looking). The service? Well, the first time I went in was for take out. Even when I ordered ahead and got there 20 minutes later, I still had to wait almost 45 minutes for my order. The bartender was nice but once he found out that I had a take out, he didn't even offer me a drink. The 2nd time I went in I stood at the cash register then the bar hoping to get anyone's attention but nothing happened. I walked out. Don't think I'll be coming back.

Jo Mamma's is a must see if you're in Tulsa. Excellent food, great service and cool atmosphere. The kitchen is glass fronted, so you can watch them make the pizza's. The only drawback is the parking situation. You're choices are either limited spaces along the streets that are almost always full or pay parking. Heads up, don't park in the big parking lot across the street or you'll come back and some little minimum wage, parking lot monkey will have put a ticket on your window for $15! The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because of the parking situation in downtown Tulsa. It distracts from all of the fine eating establishments around there. You'd think someone would give the Tulsa town fathers a heads up.This kills tourism!

Service was friendly. Pizza was tasty. Tad crunchy. Bathrooms were sad. Lights didn't even turn on when I entered and there were no switches. Couldn't see what was on the tv it prolly needed replaced. But for the food I would say not bad at all.

$5 pizza Tuesday ... Um yes please! Stumbled upon this place while in Tulsa for work. Pizza was good ... I built my own but their specialty options sounded delicious. Not a full bar but their beer selection would make even the average beer drinker smile.

I just had one of the worst dining experiences of my life here at Joe Mommas. After arriving around 8 PM on a Saturday, I was told there would be a 20 minute wait. No sweat. 30 minutes go by and I am finally seated. On a Saturday night this is understandable. Here is where things turn sour. 5 minutes pass and there is no sign of any server. Then comes 10 minutes and after 15 minutes still nothing. As I get up to leave I tell the hostess no one has come to serve us. Her initial response is of little concern and seems very dismissive. I am very sad to have had this experience at Joe Mommas after having multiple positive experiences. Unfortunately, I will never step foot in this establishment again.

I love everything about Joe Momma's. I run around downtown a lot, and this has become one of my go-to places. Everything I've had to eat here was awesome--spinach salad, fried mozz, and of course the specialty pizzas. My favorites are Natalie Portman, Betty White, and California Love. One of my best friends has Celiac's disease and loves Joe Momma's gluten-free crust. They also have a vegan sauce so you can get a fully vegan pizza. (I haven't tried it, but just heads up for those who care.) This is just a fun place to be. The servers are awesome and super friendly. It seems like there's always cool events happening here--open mic night, kids book club, trivia night, and really good live music on the weekends. They stay open until 3AM on Fridays and Saturdays for pizza-by-the-slice, so if you've been out partying and need to soak up some of that beer while you wait for your cab, this is the place to be. Finally, I think this place does A LOT for the community. The weekly trivia benefits nonprofits, and Joe Momma's is seemingly always sponsoring some big event for Tulsa charities like the homeless shelter and what have you. Eating copious amounts of pizza never made me feel so good. :)

We went here once right before a concert downtown. The place was packed and the staff seemed unorganized with their hosting/seating procedure. When we were seated, it took an unusually long amount of time to even get anyone to take our drink order. I ordered a pasta dish and it was very good but pricey. I'll have to return and try their pizza asap!

Tasty!!! I had the opportunity to try this place out with the wife while on business last week. I'm always down to visit places form man vs food to see if they live up to the hype. While I didn't have the cajones to go for the incinerator I went for a chick bacon ranch pizza, which was out of this world. My wife was super stoked to see some gluten free options and went for the buffalo pie. She said the gluten free crust was among some of the best she's had. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that's a pizza fan. Located in a cool area of town with some walkable bars and shops

Like everyone else who saw Man vs. Food and happened to come through Tulsa, I needed to give Joe Momma's a try. And being a fan of the spicier things in life, I decided to give the Incinerator a run. The downside is they only sell this fiery concoction in whole pies, where I would have preferred a slice to go with a more traditional dinner order. Was it hot? Yeah. I mean any time you see slices of habeneros, you know there is heat. But it was also disgusting. Piles of meat and hot peppers were too much but edible. But the wasabi-based drizzle and sriracha had no business near a pizza. It tasted like it looked: brick oven vomit. I took down one slice to say I did and scraped some of the excess of a few more to get full. I think they otherwise have good pizza and it is a nice venue. But foodie adventurers beware of this made for TV misstep.

Not really impressed, but no real complaints. Pizza was a bit overpriced and "specialty" pizzas were a bit too special for me, but if you are looking for something different, this place will fit the bill! Also deep fried pickles were Awesome!

I started eating at Joe Mamma's many years ago. I have met Blake (the owner) on many occasions, he's a really nice guy and knows how to run a successful business. I used to eat here 3 times a week for lunch, no joke. I have tried just about everything on the menu and they even let me come up with some of my own ideas for entrees. Over the last year and a half my parents have started eating at Andolini's, so I have been going there with them when I'm in town. A couple weeks ago my wife and I wanted pizza and hadn't been back to Joe Mamma's in about a year so we decided to go because she wanted a buffalo chicken pizza and Joe Mamma's makes an excellent one. It was about 9:30 on a Friday night. We walked in and there was a band playing on the stage and one single couple in the restaurant. We stood at the front counter waiting for someone to seat us. 10 mins went by without a single person coming by to seat us or even say hello. At that point we just decided to seat ourselves. That was one strike. We sat down at a table in the middle of the room where any staff member or waitress could see us. We patiently waited for someone to take our order. My wife and I could not even talk because the music was so loud. We wanted this pizza so we sat and waited and waited and waited. 20 mins passed by and not a single staff member came to say a word to us. There was a bartender, a waitress and a couple cooks that made eye contact with me so its not like they didn't see us. The waitress had been tending to the one other table so i knew she was still on the clock. Finally I got up and walked over to the bar and the bartender and waitress still didn't say anything to me as I was standing right there next to them. Strike two. Then one of the cooks came over and said I'm sorry about that can I go ahead and take your order. I ordered. The same cook came out with our pizza about 20 mins after I had ordered. We still did not have drinks so I asked him about that. He said just go up to the fountain and you can serve yourself, so I did. After that my wife and I sat and ate our pizza to the blaring band. The pizza it's self had gone downhill in quality, not nearly as flavorful as it used to be and the toppings were lacking. Strike Three! Joe Mamma's used to be so amazing. Blake knows how to run a successful business but with all the other endeavors he's currently involved in his original business is REALLY REALLY struggling. For now I am going to keep going to Andolini's but I will return to Joe Mamma's in the future and I sure hope they've changed back to the wonderful service and food they once had. I will update this review if its better when I return.

Pizza. Can you really screw it up? Joe Momma's is pretty good. I'd say the best thing this place has going for it is that it looks cool, has cool bands play there every once in a while and serves a decent pie. You can do so much worse. So much, guys. The most entertaining thing on a Sunday night was to watch the obvious drunk guy(maybe the bartender could use some training on cutting people off)completely miss his mouth with his beer, having it splash all over his chest, and the equally drunk girl next to him thinking that this is HILARIOUS. It was entertaining. Downtown isn't exactly the busiest place when it comes to Sunday nights, but hey, Tulsa is coming along. I've heard it used to be much, much worse. So, to recap: perfectly good pizza, great location and the fried pickles were pretty good, too. I'll come here again.

I had the cheese pizza and it was some of the best I've ever had. I also had the chicken parmesan sandwich with kettle cooked chips and it was equally good. I would eat here again and again.

A bartender from the Boulder Grill @ the Holiday Inn recommended this restaurant....I'm glad he did too! The Pizza was awesome! Per the bartenders recommendation, I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza.....yes! Ground Beef, Mustard, Onions, Cheese, all melted on Pizza Dough.....Awesome does come in 12" circles sometimes. I was shocked that this Pizza tasted so good! There was just the right proportion of ingredients....where it didn't overwhelm your taste buds. The Mustard gave the Pizza a nice kick....that was probably the one ingredient that I was most suspicious of....wasn't sure how that was going to taste, but it came through in flying colors. To wash it down, I ordered a Marshall IPA....since I sat at the bar, I met a few locals and had a great night. The bartender actually recommended that I have 1/2 Bacon Cheeseburger and 1/2 Bacon Chicken Ranch....but they couldn't do 1/2 and 1/2 Pizzas on the small, personal sized Pizzas. Bummer, I want to try that now. Will I return? Next time I'm in Tulsa, there isn't any question about it!

Thursday night is trivia night at Jo Momma's starting at 9pm, but I still haven't been able to make it. My friends love going and I hope to join them soon. Jo Momma's is also a good place to make a pitstop if you're out late at night and hungry for some grub. They're known for their pizza, but I have to give them props on their sandwiches. I've tried to order something different every time I come, but I can't get over the Brando. The first time I ordered it, they told me I was ordering a man sandwich. This was a good indicator that the sandwich was going to be huge! The Brando is a play off an italian sandwich which has salami, sausage, pepperoni and ham. It also comes with sautéed onions that adds to the meaty flavors. It usually includes ricotta and mozzarella, but the dairy puts me over my lactose intolerant limit so I usually skip the cheese (but I'm still a fan!!). So I suggest trying their sandwiches if you're not in the mood for pizza, you might be pleasantly surprised.

One of the best pizza places in the town. Not a very great beer selection though. When they talk spicy or hot they are serious. I mean I am an Indian guy and I have a very high tolerance to spicy foods as compared to the average Americans.

Love Joe Momma's!!. Ate there last night a little after 10 and it was happy hour. We got a half price appetizer - fried pickle chips. Delicious. They also had $2 Boulevard and Blue Moon for happy hour. Not only did we get a half price appetizer, but on Tuesday they have a $5 single topping pizza deal. If you want any extra toppings it's $1 for each additional topping. We got a pepperoni pizza with some feta cheese. Amazing. This is definitely a go to spot downtown. Not only is the food great but it has the atmosphere of the place is awesome too.

My fave pizza in town. Hideaway is a distant second. This is an atmosphere for the young professional and downtown dweller. Reasonable prices (price out a large Pizza Hut or P John's with 6 toppings and compare). Selection of za and drinks are commendable. Nice staff. Cool weekly specials and a good staff. Still haven't had a variety of pie that I truly didn't like. Recommended. Sweet Heat, recommended part deux.

I was contacted by Blake (the owner) about my issues with Joe Momma's consistently burning my pizza. He apologized and invited me to have a pizza on him. He said that the cooking had improved since I last visited 6-7 months ago. I arrived at 11:00 am on a Saturday morning. My order was placed by 11:20 am. This was longer than I would have liked, but they were busy getting ready for a Book Reading event for kids (I brought my young daughter, she loved it) so it was understandable. The Book Reading and related activities were fun and I will most likely go back for more. This was their first event in a series for kids. I ordered "Momma Goes Greek" and it was NOT burnt. It was a great pizza, although I should have added chicken to it. This pizza comes with a very generous helping of artichoke hearts, so avoid if you're not and artichoke fan. The feta on it was also good. I did not announce myself to Blake or the manager until after my pizza was made, so I think I received a pizza that had the no special treatment (but I can't be sure). I can say that the overall experience was positive and the pizza has definitely improved since they first opened. The staff, as always, is friendly and greets you as soon as you step through the door. We also tried a desert "The Orpheum" (they describe it as: "A skillet baked cookie, with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, covered with chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a cherry"). This was the best desert I have had in a long time. My wife and daughter enjoyed this as well. Over all Joe Momma's did make a good impression on me this time. The main issue I had with them before was the burnt pizza, which I think they stopped doing.

On my initial visit to Joe Mommas, I was brave and tried the Brotherly Love Pizza. mouthwatering Philly cheese steak pizza. Despite the ritch ingredients in the Brotherly Love, It tasted really fresh and not too heavy. I was very impressed by their menu and we decided to eat there 2 more times that same week. On my next visit I tried the pesto bread and the spinach salad, both of great. On my subsequent visits, I have tried the Natalie Portman (yummy!) and the Oklahoman (a little too rich and spicy for my taste). On each visit we have had a different server, all of which were friendly and easy on the eyes. If you are looking for something fun to do while sampling their chow, go on Thursday night and participate in the Trivia game.

The service can be hit or miss, but the food is spot on! That brick oven can really make some pizza crust sing and you may too if you try some of the hotter chicken wings. And they are open late! One of my big chicken wing complaints is when they make it hotter, but forget to make it taste better, too. For me, Joe Momma's does this above the hot. I wasn't a fan of the hotter varieties of this. But, they had a different spicy flavor, who's name currently escapes me, that added some good heat and was a great taste! I used to go here on Thursday nights and bring a crowd for the pizza and trivia, but have stopped because there seemed to be quite a few issues with the speakers and getting the video to work. But, I still love getting over there for the pizza. I'm a big fan of the Golden Driller. This is a great pizza and a great shout out to a Tulsa icon. That's another thing Joe Momma's is good about, keeping it local and making downtown better and better. There seems to almost always be events going on in the area and they try to have stuff going on in the street, too. I'm a big fan and would definitely say it's worth going downtown to treat the family and/or friends to some of the best pizza/wings in town. Be aware that you are going to see parking lots and they won't always have signs up saying pay to park, but the crappy company that owns them never stops patrolling. So, remember that you need to pay to park if you aren't on the street. They never stop charging and they never start to offer protection for your vehicle. :)

In town visiting friends. Went here for a birthday dinner. I live in NYC which may make me a bit of a restaurant snob. This place rocks. Amazing menu, unbelievable prices, top-notch food, great service, and an atmosphere to match. I could see myself here a lot if I were a local. Also a great beer tap selection and live music!

Joe Mommas was in walking distance of my hotel so I gave it a try. There was a wait to be seated. I was alone so I sat at the bar. Holy smokes, the food was awesome! The marinara sauce is great. I had a chicken pesto calzone. Great beer and wine selection. I loved it. This was a good choice for dinner.

Very good pizza and friendly bartender/waitstaff. I had the BBQ chicken pizza and a caesar salad and could barely finish half the 10" pizza. Decent beer selection both bottles and on tap. When I'm on the road, I like to try local beers and enjoyed the Marshall Sundown Wheat,. Some interesting characters sat down at the bar next to me. These guys were all drugged out and made Larry the Cable Guy seem like he wasn't a redneck. Quite the feat. It didn't ruin my evening because I like to people-watch and definitely got my share that night. I even got inspired by their taste for cheap beer and followed suit by ordering (none other than) a $2 PBR tall boy. When in Rome, I guess.

This place is great! Every ingredient is fresh, including the sauces and dough. My friends ordered some pulled pork sandwiches from this place, and not only was it really good, but they gave extremely generous portions. Service was excellent as well. Definitely worth going to. I knock one star off because the so called "incinerator" wasn't much of a challenge for some of us. Granted two people actually split it, but I would say they ate 4 slices in 5 minutes.

I like this place. It's close to my house (in brady heights), open late, comfortable atmosphere, and has decent food. And the $5 pizza night is pretty cheap for some pretty good pizza. Here's what I remember eating there: ~ The meatball sub was good. ~ The voodoo pie pizza was too spicy to really be enjoyable. It doesn't mention on the menu that the spicy red sauce is RIDDLED with jalapenos. ~ The mac and cheese is sooooo delicious that I want the recipe ~ The classic calzone was reallly, really good ~ Various pizzas...average pizzas nothing incredible. For amazing pizza (but kinda pricey) I recommend Hey Mambo.

If you go here you have to order a pizza. Nothing beats a hand tossed brick oven baked pizza. I have only had the normal pizzas and they're very good. I haven't had the courage to order one of their personal creations yet. I just don't know about putting buffalo sauce or ranch on a pizza. Thursdays from 8pm to 10pm is trivia night with the proceeds benefiting a non-profit group.

I come to Tulsa every once in a while for work. Every time I've passed by this pizza joint, it's always crowded. With that said, of course I had to check it out...and I get why. Pizza is great. Crispy crust, mozzarella perfectly melted but not overbearing, can either make your own pizza and/or they have a wide array of their own specialty pizzas. The service is pretty on point too.

The pizza. My god the pizza! This was the only place I ate while in Tulsa, OK last weekend for the indie craft show at the VFW. It was also my first trip to Tulsa and if this pizza is any indication--I'll be back! I ordered their take on the margherita pizza and it was amazing, although I did think I would get red sauce with it (I mis-read the description). The olive oil, mozzarella and tomatoes were wonderful! And they even had Diet Dr Pepper. Oh and the decor was great! They were featuring art work from a local girls' art school (those ladies are talented) and you could buy your fave piece! I almost forgot dessert. How could I? I shared the Butterfinger ice cream/caramel/chocolate/brownie dessert. It was the PERFECT balance of salty and sweet--I had to hide my spoon so I wouldn't finish it all by myself (since I was supposed to be sharing. lol).

Yep. Joe Momma's is still "nummy..nummy..to my tummy!" I must say that it has become routine to eat at least once a week at this fine little pizza joint. And, in the process of repeated business, the boss and I have learned more little insider tidbits to pass along to my fellow yelpers. 1, if you like calzones, then you will probably like Joe Momma's. That is if you like garlic oil slathered on the outside and a very doughy crust. Personally, I have a love/hate thing going with these. They taste good, but I can not help but think of ways to make them better. 2, if you like hand-breaded chicken strips, then try them. I think they have only gotten better. Just a quick note, for some reason management has (in its infinite wisdom) to start charging for sides of ranch! Dick move I think, but the honey mustard is still free and the true star of the sides. As in my previous review, order the chicken strips just so you can have something to dip into the honey mustard. I have already embarrassed myself enough by drinking it out of the cup! 3, do not order a pizza larger than medium. Huh?!? Yep. If you like thin crispy crust, then you will not get it on the large. For some reason (size vs. heat vs. lots of toppings I would imagine) the crust gets soggy once you go past medium. Of course, that just means you can order more than one kind and enjoy all the wacky combos the staff has to offer. Oh, that leads me to... 4, management has decided to change around the menu by adding sandwiches, more desserts, and a few other speciality topping offerings. I find this choice cool because it will allow us to keep trying new things at such a fun place.

Good local spot. A nice find in and interesting area near the BOK arena. The Brando sandwich was excellent and huge. Try the momma bread for an app. The pizzas all looked amazing. My kids had a cheese pizza...kind of boring but thats what they like and it looked incredible.

The best pizzas in Tulsa in a laid-back, fun atmosphere that's the epitome of the blue dome district. Little lacking in the beer selection department, but still a great place for a fun evening...

The staff here is great and all of the food looked awesome. If I pass through Tulsa again I will stop by.

I love me some Joe Momma's! Reasons why: 1) The pizza is awesome. They have a large selection of delicious specialty pizzas as well as a large list of toppings to custom order. My personal favorite is the Natalie Portman. The food other than than the pizza is delicious as well and they have a decent beer selection. 2) The atmosphere is fun and comfortable, often with local art on the walls available for sale (one time they had paintings done by animals at the Tulsa Zoo) and on some nights they have live music or trivia for charity. 3) The servers are always super-friendly and accomodating. On one visit a server accidentally gave our pizza to a table that had ordered the same thing, only after we did. They swiftly apologized and offered us a free small Natalie Portman, and had our original order out to us just a few minutes later. 4) Pinball!! in the back room. Seriously.

Joe Momma's is a great downtown addition! The pizza is wonderful, as well as the service! Joe Momma's pizza definitely rivals Hideaway...

Downtown Tulsa is severely lacking in variety when it comes to food. Almost everything is sandwiches and Mexican food. Joe Momma's helps break that monotony by introducing pizza to the area! Joe Momma's is a wonderful custom-pizza type place with lots of unique pies. For example, my boyfriend usually gets the Natalie Portman ($12.95), which is sort of a Greek pizza that has feta and mozzarella cheese, peppers, tomatoes, black olives, and artichoke hearts. This is just one of three or so vegetarian pies they serve, and there are plenty of options for meat eaters as well. They also do pizza by the slice with pepperoni, cheese, and a daily special pizza, as well as sandwiches, salads, chicken wings and other appetizers, and desserts. Prices are reasonable, the staff is great and helpful, and they are open 'til 3AM on the weekends! I'm glad that their storefront is adding some character to downtown. =)

There is absolutely nothing bad I can say about this place. Went there for the first time last weekend, and it was great. The pesto bread is awesome (and HUGE) and their pizza crust is as good as I've had in Tulsa. We ordered a medium half and half and they made it all the same, so to compensate they gave us a free 10" of the half we didn't get. Great service. Oh and $2 PBR tallboys. You can't go wrong with that. By the way, to the people that have said the place is "dirty", WRONG. It isn't. It's downtown, so yes it's going to look like a warehouse, but in no way is it unclean. They've actually fixed the place up really nice. We will definitely be back.

If I'm in downtown and don't have time to leave and MUST have pizza I would go here, otherwise I would go elsewhere. The atmosphere is good, but the layout is pretty bad. The pizza is good but not the kind of "hearty" pizza I've grown accustomed to in the south. Its good, and they have some unique pies as well. But I always leave this place feeling a little unsatisfied. I hear trivia night is good though. Service and prices are good for downtown

This place is really cool. It was really crowded and pretty noisy, though. I like that fact that they have paper "table cloths" and crayons so you can color on the tables. We got the chicken bacon ranch pizza and it was really good.

This another one of those downtown places I get drug to for lunch with friends. Not particulary good or bad food but definitely way down my list of best pizza in Tulsa. Service the 3 or 4 times I have been here was lacking or i would rate a three. For pizza i would rather go to Umberto's, Andolini's, uncle Vinny's, or savastano's. Hell... I'd rather go to Hideaway.

We had takeaway from here last night and it was a very disappointing meal. Brown lettuce in a salad? No thanks. Pizza crust way too thick, and not much good about it, after 2 slices it went in the bin. Chicken wings were good, hence a second star.

Joe Momma's has become one of my favorite locations for casual Italian in Tulsa or anywhere. As of August '09 they're still adding things every week. They're on their third revision of their menu, and I believe it only only gets better each time. Their primary showing is pizza: hearty bread and diverse toppings. The recipe is very original with aspecialty pizza selection is wide enough that you'll find something for the ranch-philes, veggie-lovers, and carnivores. What I really like is that the pizza menu is very well crafted, but they provide a non-pretentious atmosphere in which you can order a custom pizza without incurring the wrath of staff. I've also eaten a number of the calzones (all on par with the pizza). The sandwiches are good, but I would only recommend them if you're aiming for the exotic. They use a lot of artisan bread that doesn't lend itself well to a mundane sandwich (which they do serve). They lose points in my rating for excessively spicy arrabiata sauce and because they're still developing their wine menu. The wait staff can be "inexperienced" at times, and they're not big believers in the "appetizer-entree gap". These minor problems are more than made up for by excellent friendliness I've always gotten. Waiters are typically ready to laugh or share a joke at the appropriate times without any mundane effervescence. Every staff member smiles on the way in and says goodbye on the way out. The interior is well-designed and unique. They have a stage for their monthly trivia nights (pretty fun) and shows(I assume, I've never been). They also picked some arcade machines in the back that were well-selected to not appear tacky. They have a few tables in an open-air patio on the street. It's not a great view, but there are fun spots nearby so it's a great place to start/finish/have a night.

Expect to pay $40 for a $15 meal. Nice variety and creativity. The pizza is decent but overpriced. They charge $2 for club soda: free carbonated water that is the default designated-driver drink. The only places that charge for club soda are places that bilk you for the privilege of being on their premises like high end clubs and lounges with lines out the door; that is not Joe Momma's. Their pizza is not bad, but it is barley north of mediocre and not exceptional. Nevertheless, Joe Momma's will charge you for higher quality than the value you receive.
