What a not so hidden gem! I say that because it seems everyone knows about it. The restaurant is located in a strip mall. The dining room is one small room with just a handful of tables. The restaurant has many pieces of artwork from all over Japan. The menu is limited; basically skewers and curry with rice. We chose beef and chicken skewers with rice. He also ordered a bowl of miso soup. The lunch came with a salad dressed with a ginger and peanut dressing. The service is on the slow side. There is one person working as a server it seems, so expect a wait. But it is worth it!!! One bite of the chicken skewers and I could hear harps playing. It was THAT good. The only other restaurant I have had that experience was at Jiko, The Cooking Place at Walt Disney World. We plan on coming back.

Best teriyaki I have ever had!!!!! Husband and wife team run this hidden gem. Go around 11:30 get yourself one of the twelve tables and enjoy their kabobs or curry. The curry is yummy but most come for the kabobs. I have recommended this to several folks and all have come back and thanked me. This place couldn't be more simple but it's absolutely delicious. - I used to go there so much they knew me nearly as a friend not a customer. Go get some!

One of my colleagues picked up food from this place so I can't comment on its physical "hole in the wall"-ness... but the teriyaki chicken is fantastic and deserves whatever mystique it can get. The portion size of the skewers is deceptively generous and the sauce is delicious - clearly not your everyday Panda Express sauce. Only detracting factor: since I ate my order out of a takeout box, the sauce was smothered not only over the chicken and rice (which I didn't mind), but the orange slice also. But overall, not that big of an issue.

Every time I've been here the food is awesome. I usually get three chicken kabobs. It comes with white rice and salad. The restaurant is small so get there early for lunch. The lady waiting tables is wonderful. Just make some conversation with her and she will remember you from now on. This is my favorite place for lunch!!!

This is a very small and intimate restaurant. Hidden and hard to find. It has a limited menu. All of these things work to its advantage. It does a few things and does them very well. I strongly suggest coming for dinner (Friday and Saturant night only) and ordering the salmon. The serving size is beyond generous and the fish is perfectly cooked.

Best teriyaki! Ichi-ban sauce is sweet and To Die For!!!! Great food, very very relaxed atmosphere. Edge of strip mall, on 41st just west of memorial on south side of street. No large signage so don't blink or you will miss it.

The name says so... number one! The food was great. Be careful when you order Salmon Teriyaki... it was huge... enough for at least three people. The steak was also huge.

Fine place for lunch!

Love this place! This restaurant embodies the true spirit of Japanese home cooking. Simple, delicious food with clean presentation. The owner and waitress is polite and attentive. The teriyaki sauce is addicting and the rice that comes on the side is perfectly cooked Japanese style. I always get the steak because it is so tender and juicy; it goes great with the teriyaki sauce. The side salad that comes with the meal is simple but the dressing is delicious. Don't forget to order yourself miso soup, it is much better here than most sushi restaurants I've been to. The only downside to this place is the hours are a bit strange, they're only open for lunch Monday through Thursday and open only for dinner Fridays and Saturdays.

When I crave for teriyaki chicken or Japanese style curry, I will come here.

KILLER food! I'm not fat by accident. Easy peasy...just wish they were open later in the afternoon.

This place defines whole in the wall. You would drive/walk past it if you haven't been before. It's at the end of the strip with white boards on the windows. I would recommend the chicken skewers, with the teriyaki (crack) sauce. Comes with rice and a salad. It is exactly the same as when I lived in Tulsa over 10 years ago! I would pretty much eat anything with the sauce on it. There is one waitress and she may expect you to know what you want without seeing a menu. Your meal won't be more than $10, and that is the limit to run a card, so bring cash if you're just paying for one.

You ever run into one of those places that from first appearances appears to be just a complete dive, but then turns out to be one of the most incredible meals you eat? This is one of those places. The menu consists of 4 items including drinks and the only choice you have to make is if I want chicken or steak. After that simple decision what is brought before you is the most incredible plate of teriyaki meat you have ever had. The portions are generous the meats are perfectly cooked and tender, and the teriyaki sauce is incredible. This is a must visit place if you are eating in Tulsa.

Outstanding . Got to be in the know to know about this place. Only serves dinners on Fridays and Saturdays.

My husband and I did our research and Yelped, "best teriyaki " in Tulsa, so I knew that was covered...... However, we waited till Saturday night and ordered the Salmon, which was one whole huge fillet, one chicken dinner, and the TEMPURA!!!! The BEST tempura I've ever had in my life. You will be blown away with the delicate coating over perfectly cooked shrimp and vegetables. They even threw in chicken wings......needless to say we ordered too much, but we ate the tempura first and had three remaining meals, each one as luscious as the first......what are you waiting for? Thank you so much Eiko San. Enjoy!

As stated in a bunch of other yelp reviews, don't let the outside fool (or scare) you. The menu and place are as simple as it gets. The food is very good and the prices are spot on. There are only about 10 tables, and the menu consists of only a couple choices. That could be why they are so good at what they do. The primary food on the menu are the skewers; chicken, beef or the combo. It comes as 3 well filled skewers with a side of rice and a salad. I ordered the chicken, and that along with a Coke, put me just over $10 and was a ton of food. As for the skewers, the chicken was moist and perfectly cooked, the flavoring was better than I can do on my grill, and the dipping sauce is magical. Like for real, put some behind your ear to take home, kind of magical.

Teriyaki done right. This little restaurant is a true hidden gem in the Tulsa area. Tasty salad and skewed teriayaki meats. A perfect place to stop in for lunch when you're in this area of town. I do suspect the secret ingredient in the teriyaki side sauce is just, good old maple syrup, but I don't mind a little sugary goodness on my chicken, and from the looks of it at lunch Tulsan's love it as well. Despite being an easy location to over look this little restaurant is always full at lunch. There is one waitress that seems to handle the whole dining room, but she is fast and efficient. The menu is really simple, they only do a few things, but they do all those things well.

Very hard to find but good food. Service can be slow at times.

Booyah! get some teriyaki son. this place is right on. Good luck finding it... no sign.. no nothing... just some white paper over the windows. Mysteriously when you get in there it will be filled with people chowing down on deliciously prepared meats skewered on sticks with a side of righteous teriyaki sauce. Don't forget.. you get a peanut butter and jelly salad before your meal.... not really, its iceberg lettuce with sesame oil and a sweet vinegar that gets you ready for the goodness to come. I've been here about 10 times but haven't managed to let myself order anything but the teriyaki, beef and chicken. Order the combo and get some of each to decide which is your favorite. This place is about as "hole-in-the-wall" they come but don't let that deter you from trying to find it! (i almost got creamed by a guy leaving the DUI school next door too it first time i went)

Love the Ichiban Chicken. However, they do not take debit cards for less than $10 so you better have cash.

So good! Such a distinctive atmosphere, authentic and cozy. The most delicious teriyaki. It is hard to tell when the restaurant is open, but completely worth the extra effort. This place is not for stuffy diners, but for real foodies.

Ok, this place is such a hole in the wall you will pass it and not know it. Im not even sure it has a sign. But make this trip, north to the gas station and the burrito place at 41st and memorial on the NW side of the street. Ichiban- The people that actually know about this place are obsessed with it. The little old lady inside isn't the nicest person. I mean she will greet you as you come in. But when i comes time to order, don't mess around just say what you want or she may just karate chop your arms off. The teriyaki chicken is the stuff to get. Either the kabob or the half or whole chicken. The sweet syrup like soy sauce on the side is so good you might just want to drink that instead of the coke you ordered. DONT MESS AROUND. IF YOU LIVE IN TULSA YOU MUST EAT HERE, AND BRAG TO YOUR FRIENDS.

This is a tiny place you wouldn't expect to find where it is. The food is incredible and always excellent! My new favorite lunch place.
