Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I discovered this awesome Pizza place a few years ago and it's one of the best. Fresh ingredients and very tasty. They do pizza right! Crispy crust and a great Italian sauce to compliment the pizza. Fresh garlic cloves and anchovies..my two favorite toppings!

Hideaway is a fun Oklahoma establishment. I have been many times to the Cherry Street location in Tulsa, and my favorite pizza by far is the Totally Truffled! I also love the fried mushroom appetizer! The vibe and decor is very fun and casual. It is a great location for groups as well. Though I probably could eat a whole pizza by myself, I think the your best bet is to split with someone (or your whole family). Hideaway will do half and half pizzas so that is very nice! On my most recent venture to Hideaway, I was interested in enjoying an adult beverage. I ordered a skinny margarita. They said it only had 100 calories in it, and I'm just going to choose to believe them. It was very strong and flavorful! Hideaway is a fun place to go with friends, family, and large groups. Definitely check it out!

A great pizza shop with flavor's other than the usual suspects. Best described as gourmet pizza. Well worth your time to visit and try something new.

I cannot wait until I can bring my family here. By far one of my favorite pizza places anywhere!
(5)R J.
I love this place! We ordered a paradise pie and the atw both with thin crust. Delicious! Lots of toppings and cheese. Started the meal with a cold beer and a salad. This is my favorite pizza place in Tulsa.

Okay I love PIZZA. My order of favs is Sushi, Pizza,BBQ. Now I didn't think i would have to post anything about Pizza but screw it! I am cause I am out of state and finding out Pizza is different. All the locals said go to this place Hidaway Pizza. I think there all smoking DOPE!!!! This was crappy Chucke cheese like pizza! If anything chucke cheese pizza is better cause my kids get to be entertained by a big rat and games. If you are not born and raised in Oklahoma dont eat this Pizza cause I am sure you have had better. They dont know what Pizza is!!! But I sure as hell am not gonna try sushi in Oklahoma either so it was Pizza instead. I will stick to BBQ in this state hear forward.

AweSome manager. Long story but he was the I have ever met at making a customer happy! Best pizza in Tulsa. And do NOT call in your order to go. Sit at their comfortable bar and enjoy a schooner of Stella artois while they make it! Not familiar with hideaway? You will be happy!
(5)Natalie D.
They have wonderful pizza, but I think it's ridiculous that they don't have a bottle of balsamic vinegar they can bring to the table for my salad. I usually love this place, but I usually get pizza.

I'd never been to Hideaway Pizza until today, and I was definitely impressed! We tried the Totally Truffled pizza on a hand-tossed crust. It featured mushrooms, spinach & provolone toppings, lightly drizzled with truffle oil. Delicious. The great relaxed atmosphere and super laid-back friendly staff made this place even better. Prices were lower than I expected and a medium pizza was PLENTY for two.
(5)Garen M.
Some of the best pizza anywhere. Laid back atmosphere. Service is usually good.

My first experience I was seated and 20 min later I was still not served. So I tried a order to go a few days later. Alfredo is really cheesy if that's what you are into. And the pizza is great. A little to much garlic to the point your be smelling the pizza days after eating. So be weary about you you let one loose at.

If you're looking for good pizza in Oklahoma, look no further. Hideaway is creative and saucy when it comes to making pizza. It's a great place to come for a drink and a slice of pie after work or after class if you're at TU. The staff is comprised of mostly hip students who are all very nice. The service is also top notch. I've never had any run ins with the staff and they're always prompt to respond, even if they're busy. The tie dye staff t-shirts, the kites on the ceiling and the local themed art on the walls are all very kitschy but not in an entirely bad way. It evokes local color and a sense of welcoming. You must go here if you haven't. They have really inventive pizzas and you can customize them anyway you want. My favorites: Pizza of the Gods, The Mediterranean, Little Kahuna, and the Pesto Bruschetta.

As far as Pizza goes, the best in town by far. Service is ok to good. They sometimes have decent beer specials as well. Unless you have very long lunch breaks, I don't recommend them at lunch.

Back in the day, my bf worked at Hideaway Pizza, so it was the first place on his list to visit when he introduced me to Tulsa. I thought it was good, but it wasn't maybe "all that".... I grabbed a beer, we ordered an app and a half and half pizza. All in all, the food was ok to good. Nothing spectacular, nothing I would go running back for, unless it's just the satisfaction of seeing my bf enjoy the nostalgia and reminisce.
(3)Jay S.
Nice looking place on 15th, efficient friendly service.Greek salad was Ok but the dressing had too much vinegar and three slivers of tomatos were not near ripe enough to be served on any kinda salad. Pizza was also only OK,very thin and not much sauce...and for almost $20 bucks,it was pretty skimpy.....but I did enjoy my cold draft beer! Dont think we'll be back anytime soon.
(2)J. Francisco P.
Found about this place here in Yelp! Definitely the best pizza in Tulsa. A small pizza will satisfy your hunger if you're " flying solo".
(4)Katie V.
Hideaway is my all time favorite place to get pizza. I couldn't say enough good things about this place. We are regulars at the Cherry Street location but have had perfect exeriences at all of them. Being the regulars we are, we tend to get the same thing every time: pepperoni with alfredo sauce! If I had to choose one favorite food, this would be it. The fried mushrooms are a must for an appetizer, even if you're not a huge fan of mushrooms. They have a huge menu packed with top notch pizza creations, pastas, salads, and the like. They also have a nice adult beverage selection though I've never tried any of them because I'm too focused on the pizza. They have a great gluten free thin crust option which I really appreciate! The atmopshere is casual and relaxed. The place is always clean and we've never had to wait for a table. This is a great place to come with a group, your family, or on a date. They don't hurry you out the door and the service is always wonderful. If you call ahead, they'll have your pizza ready for pick up within just a few minutes.

First of all, please don't ask me why we're in Tulsa. Now, let's talk Hideaway Pizza.... Loved our server. When I asked him how he was doing, he said, 'ordinary.' Never thought of it that way. The food was awesome. We had fried ravioli and pizza. It was served fast and hot. Got the thin crust which we loved. They seemed really popular and I see why. Probably won't be back to Tulsa for a long time but I'll always hold a special place in my heart for Hideaway. Tulsans, you have it good.
(5)Chris H.
If you want the best pizza in Tulsa, this is where you have to go, no questions asked. I have been going there since I was a baby, I can say that if you don't like their pizza, you don't like pizza. They have some of the best flavors you can put on a pizza, and the whole restaurant had that hippie type of laid back feel. Living in Texas I would say that I love to go there anytime I am back in Tulsa.
(5)Sara L.
Best pizza in all the world. First place I eat when I go to Tulsa.
(5)AnandShruti R.
It's my way or the hideaway... ok bad joke. But GREAT Pizza. The selection of pizza is like a buffet for even the pickiest of eaters from meat lover types to veggie lovers. The service is friendly and very fast.. They have out door seating and a pleasant atmosphere inside. No frills in this pizza joint and they don't need it, the pizza does all the heavy lifting. We'll be back!!

I asked a hipster downtown where to go in Tulsa for food that I couldn't find anywhere else. He sent me to Hideaway. In a trendy spot in town, Hideaway plays the part. With a touch of the psychedelic and a rootedness in local culture, I really felt that, as a visitor, I had come to a place where I could experience that which is Tulsa. The food was good, though not stellar, but this is the sort of place where, if I lived in town, a group of friends and I would go if we were looking for something to do some evening. I was lucky that day to be a party of one. Otherwise, I would have had to have waited for seating. This is obviously a popular place and I'm not surprised why. I did get the impression that if there was any type of pizza on the planet that I wanted, they would have done their best to make it for me. However, I did not think to ask for pickles and Ice cream pizza. They have a wide range of sauces and toppings from which to choose, so, options are always an option here. Although taking directions from a hipster isn't always the safest bet, this guy did me well to send me to Hideaway Pizza.

This is good pizza! By far the third best pizza I have ever tasted in America. Best is in CA and second best is in NY. You know who you are! I'm talking pizza chain, not specialty gourmet pizzas. Anyway, back to Hideaway Pizza...they have really good sauce that works well with the crust and toppings. I am a taste tester and I lined up the pizzas in Tulsa. Hideaway won hands down. The secret is in the sauce! Highly recommend. I moved, now I can only envy Tulsa.
(5)Beau R.
Hideaway has some creative twists on some of their pizzas. you must try- Sweet Sedona w/ chicken strips, peppers, onions and delicousness The Boz is like a meatlovers pizza w/ jalapenos "I love it" Maui Magic w/ mandarian oranges and pineapple and canadian bacon Good place for kids. One of the best pizza places in Tulsa.
(4)B B.
I really like hidaway! I like the pizza combos, it reminds me of an oklahoma style cpk. I had the chicken pizza with pesto last time and it was delicious. THis place is a must especially since mazzios is so gross!
(5)Courtney E.
I would have voted 5 stars except it really depends on which location you go to. The original location in Stillwater is still the best, but there are one or two locations in Tulsa that are really good. First location is 15th, and the 2nd is Harvard. Go to those to get the real Hideaway experience, and the better crust!
(4)Emma W.
I love hideaway. I always have great service here and am never disappointed I always walk away with my to go box too.
(5)Uday P.
Pizza is great. It is expensive compared to other places, but we don't mind going there once a month. Cherry street location is extremely crowded on weekends and Friday nights. Our favorites - Sweet Sedona and Mediterranean The service is great overall.
(4)Matt D.
Consistenly good pizza. Not amazing, but not bad. Service was eh-ok... 4 adults and 2 kids for $65 with tip.
(3)Abigail S.
Hideaway has the best pizza in Tulsa, no contest. Their lunch specials are a really good deal, and you can order any pie to come with a different specialty pizza on each half, which is kind of cool. I wish they had a full bar, but I guess their beer selection will have to do for now. Sit outside on the wooden deck for the best service and people-watching.
(5)Lauren D.
Not bad, but overrated. I don't think the sauce is all that great and the crust is kind of bland. Honestly, I prefer Mazzios to Hideaway.
(3)Katy W.
Seriously some of the best and most creative pizza I've had! My favorite is the hamburger pizza - the ground beef is chopped up really tiny and it's delicious. The pesto pizza is great as well. I mean, it's all good, and there will be something for everyone. If it's your first time it's fun to get the pizza that has a slice of everything. I try to go here whenever I'm in Tulsa.
(5)Rob R.
Being from the northeast, I'm used to finding the best pizza in bustling storefronts, but this family-friendly pizza restaurant is better than it looks from the outside. The atmosphere inside is actually kind of cool, with paper star lights and gecko kites, and a selection of board games. You can choose between thin crust and hand-tossed. I chose the Around the World pizza, a mostly vegetarian option with sausage; the sausage was *really* good and more like spicy breakfast sausage than typical Italian sausage; vegetables were well cooked and the sauce was kind of tangy. Some of the other "specialty" options seemed a little weird- bacon, kielbasa, burger- but I'm all in favor of the options available.
(3)Wayne P.
When in Tulsa this is the ONLY place I get pizza. Not only is the pizza excellent, they have great fried mushrooms!
(5)Derek R.
Over-rated The pizza is just barely better than big chain stores.
(3)Ken H.
Check out Hideaway's new baked pasta dishes if any in your party want more than pizza. My wife, a pizza fanatic, says this is the best pan pizza in Tulsa, so take it from her .... please. By the way, I'd throw in an extra half star to my three-star take on Hideaway if I could. But I can't.
(3)George Q.
This place is probably the best pizza joint in Tulsa. Which isn't saying much in a town with such a lack of decent pizza. If, like me, you're from a part of the country that values its pizza more than Oklahoma, you'll be disappointed with Hideaway.
(2)Tish H.
great pizza, never bores my tastebuds. super friendly servers. and its not too expensive either. I LOVE HIDEAWAY!
