Lady was not very friendly. I don't like how they staple the bags because it discourages checking the order. Drove away and she forgot my wontons just like I guessed. Food was mediocre.

I live in California now, but every time i come home to Tulsa i make a visit to Fortune Chef. Take out only at this location. you can call ahead or order on site. Very affordable. Their Eggrolls are the best anywhere I've ever had. They do have meat in them, so vegetarians sorry. Their springs rolls (new) have no meat, but are not very good. My favorites: Egg fu young, (avail. chicken, shrimp, or veg) Fried Rice (avail. chicken, shrimp) Sweet and Sour chicken are all my fav's. They have lunch combo specials or a la cart. I'm home visiting my folks and will probably go a few times while i'm here. Probably even freeze some of the egg fu young to take home. YES it's that good.

Great Chinese food from a locally owned family business. Takeout only, but super cheap prices. Get the sesame chicken with egg rolls!

This place has some potential. Probably as authentic as you can get in Tulsa. The food is jammed pack with MSG, no surprise there. They don't always use the freshest of ingredients, it's hit or miss, and the service is non-existent. Flavors are definitely there in most dishes, but there are a few items I would not order again (i.e. hot and sour soup). Worth a try if you are in the area.

I had Fortune Chef take out a few nights ago, and Meh...Not so great. The sweet & sour pork was fatty and the breading was kind of mushy. The cheese won tons were all won ton & no cheese. The one thing I do like here are the ribs, the ones on the bone. Great flavor, and you get quite a few in an order. I have had other things here, and at best, it's mediocre. For chinese take-out, I would recommend Schezuan Express at 51st & Memorial. They have been around forever, the people are nice, the prices are reasonable, and the food is always good. I only wish it was closer to my house!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
