Was in the Tulsa area recently visiting family. My sister knows I LOVE chicken livers and took me to Bros. Houligan. Went in and ordered our food, I ordered chicken livers. My sister and nephew's wife also ordered livers. My brother-in-law and one nephew ordered chicken fried steak and another nephew ordered a ribeye steak. We ordered a variety of potatoes, cottage fries, French fries and mashed potatoes. The potatoes and green beans came out family style in large baskets placed around the table. We got our livers and it was the biggest portion I had ever seen. These were by far the best chicken livers I had ever had, except for my Mom's. I was stuffed by the time I had finished. The chicken fried steaks filled up the plates and my nephew had the thickest ribeye I had ever seen. The prices were very reasonable also, $9.99 for my liver dinner. I will definitely go back next time I am in Tulsa.

One of my favorite places to eat in Tulsa. The go to menu item is the chicken tenders that come with fries and country gravy to dip them in. You also get green beans by the bowl communal style to share with your group. The wait staff has tables they take care of but others come by to make sure you have everything you need. It's like a family feeling when you are there. You may have to wait a bit depending on time but generally get seated quickly if not immediately.

This review is only for their carry-out service. I was taking a working lunch and didn't have time for a dine in experience. The burger was great, and was great value. When I'm ordering carry-out speed is the most crucial element, and these guys delivered. It's 4 blocks from my office as well, so that helps. Well done Bros. Houligan.

I love their green bean burger and cottage fries! This place is casual and is a comfort food mecca! The servers help everyone so you aren't left waiting for a dedicated server to come back to you. Their lunch specials are great also. Great prices and great food!

Have not been back to Bros. Houligan in over 20 yrs. Back then pool tables/bar atmosphere with few table area for lunch. Great great improvements. Addition for seating added several years ago-no smoking. My buddies would brag about the gravy at Bros. Houligan. I was not disappointed, thick but not so thick. The fried shrimp lunch portion was recommend. The shrimp (6) were lightly battered (unlike other restaurants that give you what appears to be big shrimp until you take a bite and find more batter than meat. Very good taste. I had the choice of fries, cottage fries or mashed potatoes. I selected cottage fries. The fries dipped in the gravy was delicious. The gravy was hot and nicely seasoned - did not have to add salt or pepper to it. I was given cocktail sauce and tartar sauce. Tried both but ended up using all the cocktail sauce. As part of your lunch order I was given a bowl of cooked green beans. Great bacon /onion flavor. All went well with the fried shrimp. Finally the was staff was outstanding with their service. We had a waitress who took our order, another waitress cleared our table and another take our payment. We were told that the wait staff did everything so they could concentrate on the customer having an enjoyable visit. I like that business model. We were in an out in roughly 35 mins. Very very enjoyable. I will try the fried catfish next. In ending the meal we received was filling and not expensive. Great job Bros Houligan

This is one of the places that a couple of friends and I go to for dinner on Monday nights. Regardless to how busy they may be, your seated pretty fast and have drinks in front of you in no time. We like the chicken tender special with the endless waffle fries and gravy. Served too hot to eat and when it does cool down it's so tasty that we are into it like a pack of wild dogs. The waffle fries are fried just right, not too doughy or too crisp. With lot of hot delicious white gravy to dunk everything in. You'll find that the service keeps your drink topped off if they don't just bring you a fresh glass.

Update:I can't recall what it was that I didn't like about my first visit to the Mingo location, but after having gone back a few times, I'd like to rescind my comment about this one being the better location. They are both equally excelent, and contain about the same seating area.

Cool little neighborhood hole in the wall. I have been eating at Brothers Houligan for years, and I prefer the 15th street location. The atmosphere is very relaxed, the menu consists of mostly burgers and fried food. The chicken fried steak would probably be the star of the menu, and it is, in my opinion, one of the best chicken fried steaks in town. Dinners are served with unlimited green beans, gravy, and mashed potatoes (if ordered)...these are served family style. The service can be a bit spotty at both locations. The waitstaff all work together, taking orders and running food, so a table might have several servers in a visit. This can be good or bad depending on the overall attentiveness of the servers; sometimes there will be one good server and the rest will be mediocre, and it can kind of bring down the entire experience. On several occasions the servers neglected to ask if I wanted another beer, or didn't bring waters with cocktails, which is annoying. Beers, wine, and drinks are not listed on the menu, so it is always kind of a guessing game as to what is available...this should be fixed. The parking lot is tiny, and it is not uncommon to have to park on the street in the neighborhood. Overall, Brothers Houligan is a great spot for a casual meal or drinks, and if they made some small changes it would be a 4 star!

The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great! My office is nearby so I eat there frequently since I get tired of eating at all the franchise places. Personally I their gulf shrimp or t-bones. I also like that the wait staff all work together so the service seems to be faster. Anytime I get visitors out of town, I bring them to Bros. Houligan for dinner at least once.

So disappointed after listening to z 104.5 give good reviews. You are not met by a greeter but instead a pen and paper. A nasty dirty ink pen I must add. You write your name down as the people ahead of me told me to do. Otherwise I would have not guessed that was their method. They advertise real home cooking and they serve canned green beans and instant mashed potatoes. Went at 3:00 so they were not crazy busy. The server actually tossed the food so quickly on our table some of the food flew off the side and onto the table. The waiter just turned real fast and walked off as if he didn't see what had happened. The chicken fried steak had a fish taste to it. Thank goodness for the gravy. Although the gravy is obliviously from a powder mix, it made the chicken fried steak somewhat eatable. I wondered why the table to the side of us left with most of their chicken chunks on their plate. So guessing they were not much better. Now my stomach is gurgling and making audible sounds and I just arrived home. I really hope I do t get sick. Don't go! KFC serves better food. Geeze mcdonalds probably has better food

HUGE chicken fried steaks and the best mashed potatoes and green beans in town. Always welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Low key atmosphere and great home cooking.

One of my all time favorite restaurants! Though I always feel a little chubbier every time I leave. They have the best chicken tenders, chicken fried steak, cottage fries, and gravy here. Their gravy cannot be emphasized enough, it is fantastic, and you won't be able to make or find anything like it!

Right on 15th street near the freeway, a small dinning room with lots of white Christmas lights. Very busy inside at 9pm.Limited menu of mostly fried food and no sweet tea. Famous for their chicken fried steak, evidently. Nice sweet waitress that reminded me of Lily Tomlin, recommended the hand breaded catfish and shrimp for $14. Shrimp were very good but catfish had a slight burnt flavor from the oil, I think. Tartar sauce and gravy was not to my liking but loved the waffle fries. Green beans were southern style, cooked to death. Dane had a Houlihan Burger that he said was below average and bacon was not fully cooked nor crispy. $30 buck for dinner for two without alcohol...don't think we'll be back anytime soon.

Man, does this place know how show someone great customer service! The wait staff was almost TOO attentive! It was refreshing. I ordered the chicken tenders, because I'm pretty sure they're known for them. Plus, let's be honest, it's pretty much a staple in my diet. The chicken was served with one starch side, and all dishes come with family-style green beans. WOW. The green beans were so tasty. I would eat a huge bowl of just green beans if it weren't frowned upon. My chicken was perfect. The mashed potatoes were instant, I think, but they were good. It's hard for anything to taste bad with gravy on it, am I right? *high five* I will definitely go back, as I noticed the liquor bar with a television. What reprieve from the usual 15th street scene!

Well, we walked in and waited for at least two minutes before anyone even noticed us. This was odd, because the uncrowded restaurant was full of staff members. We ordered onion rings and fried mozzarella to begin with. A couple minutes later our first waitress (apparently we kept losing them to the exciting task of rolling silverware at a nearby table) came by to get our dinner order. Immediately following that our cottage cheese showed up. Weird. Two minutes later our appetizers showed up. They were actually quite delicious. Unfortunately, three minutes after that our dinner showed up. My boyfriend and I share the concern of food that shows up so quickly. Rightly so. My fried shrimp was mediocre. He order a Sirloin topped with onions and mushrooms. It was really just a burger with some crap on it. Instant mashed potatoes are NEVER okay. And canned green beans, are not much better. Our meal was $30.00. I felt uncomfortably stuffed, unsatisfied and over charged. All in all, I will not go back. Ever.

Pretty neat little place. I never eat fried food though. Yet, while here my whole party ordered chicken strips...so I did as well. Lemme say that they were amazing!! Best chicken strips I've ever had.

If you are looking for delicious chicken fried steak, steak, or hamburgers, this is the place to go. This small bar and restaurant in mid-town Tulsa has a little bit of the feel of a kitschy Route 66 cafe and it is not designed for vegetarians or the health conscious. There is one salad on the menu, but, if you want a salad, there are plenty of better places to go. Sides like green beans, cottage fries, and mashed potatoes are served family style and are a great choice. They are included in the price for the main dishes, but not the sandwiches or burgers. However, I wouldn't miss out. The cottage fries come with white gravy for dipping that is deliciously fattening.
