We came here last weekend for lunch and it was amazing. Came back tonight. Seated near the bar where the TV is. Not as nice ambience as in the back room. Guacamole is made at the table. Very fresh avocados and the flavors are clean and authentic. The salsa tastes fresh and when asked for spicy salsa the waitress brought some out promptly. Molcayete? Was the main course. Comes with rice beans sour cream and tortillas and pico De gaillo. This dish is a must try and is more than enough for 2 people. It's chicken beef and shrimp with onions green peppers pablano peppers scallions and pineapple served in a steaming stone bowl on top of a banana leaf. It's a fantastic mixture of sweet savory smokey and salty. Each bite brings a whole new flavor profile. There's some sort of honey sauce on it. The rice and beans are stars themselves. The rice is fluffy and full of flavor and the beans don't have that nasty gritty texture that most side beans have. The pico was not as fresh as it was when we were here for lunch so I left it alone. The iced tea doesn't taste like dish water either like a lot of places. We shared the cheesecake for dessert. It comes wrapped in a crispy cinnamon tortilla she'll instead of a crust. It's warm and gooey. The plate has little pieces of mango and strawberry as well as a very subtle strawberry honey sauce. All in all it was 40 dollars plus tip. The waitress was relatively attentive though I didn't feel comfortable stopping and asking questions about the food since it was so busy. All the ingredients were top notch except for the pico and the shrimp. Great restaurant and we will be doing date night here pretty often.

This place is LEGIT. Hands down the best gourmet, authentic Mexican food in Tulsa. As a vegetarian, an authentic vegetarian friendly Mexican meal is hard to come by. This place met and exceeded all explanations. I went in with with a group of five (meat eaters and vegetarians). Everyone left completely satisfied and blown away by the service. Our waiter was a gentleman named Juan. He was attentive and through talking with us found out that it was our first time at the restaurant. We started with the guacamole made table side ordered with medium heat. Absolutely delicious. Juan was knowledgeable of what was vegetarian friendly and explained that the rice is vegetarian (most Mexican restaurants cook their rice in chicken stock). I ordered the chile relleno with grilled vegetables and it was AMAZING. Every relleno I've ever had at a restaurant tastes like it was soaked in dish soap before being dipped in batter and fried but this one was different. It tasted fresh, almost like it was picked from the plant right before being fried. My boyfriend ordered the vegetarian combo meal and was completely satisfied. The meat eaters all loved their meals. The salsa they serve is the best in town. I couldn't finish my food because I couldn't stop stuffing my face with chips, salsa, and guac. At the end of our meal Juan brought out a churro dessert for the five of us to split (one churro for each of us). They were covered in chocolate, caramel, and strawberry syrup. Whipped cream on the side. It was so delicious and so nice of him to treat us to a complimentary dessert. For the five of us to eat the bill came to $56. Well worth it. Amazing service from all staff and amazing food. We will be back for sure.

Foodies Unite!!!!-Best Mexican food in Bixby. The owner came and greeted us and the service was outstanding. Please try the queso with meat. They make their own chorizo in house. Not fatty just flavorful. All meats are choice cuts and fresh. The owner and staff care about freshness and flavors. This is not a competitor or El Tequila or even Ted's- this is something better. I go here once a week sometimes more. Local, fresh, and something unique. Presentation is above par and flavor is unique and authentic to several regions in South America and Mexico. Yum! Grab a friend and get here. Tell Antonio (The owner/Manager) Charles said hello. These people are like family.

I've never given 5 stars to any place on yelp before but this place seriously deserves it. First of all the service was fantastic and the food was out and on the table super super quick . I got the chicken chimichangas with rice and beans and it was absolutely fantastic. My boyfriend got the shrimp quesadilla, it was like nothing we've ever had before. We decided to have them make some fresh guacamole for us...best decision yet!! I don't even like guacamole but I do at bravos! Keep up the good work! We will be back!

This is a really great Tex-Mex place for the price. The made to order guacamole is fantastic. We had fish tacos that were amazing! It's a must try.

Queso fundido was a very unique dish executed very well Serving sizes are large for reasonable prices Service was very nice -although a tad forgetful.. Jose specifically made this trip worth while. I would love to come back here again and again.

Bravos has NEVER disappointed! The food is outstanding, and drinks are great. Mostly, the service is spectacular! The manager always checks in with us, and has repeatedly given gift surprises to my step-daughter. This location has had much turnover, but I believe Bravos is here to stay!!!! Please support them.

I come to this place at least once a week. I have never been disappointed, nor have I ever left hungry. Their wait staff is amazing, and the owners really seem to care about this place and the service they provide. Let me start off with price, I do not think you could beat their prices anywhere in town(except for fast food, and a taco truck.) You are able to go here, and get fresh made fajitas for 6.99, which will provide you with enough food for two meals, if you also enjoy some of their amazing chips and salsa. The fajitas are not the star of the show, at least not to me. I think their true gem is the chile rellenos. I am a chile relleno fiend, and I have had them at every place in Tulsa, but no one gets even close to making them as good as Bravos. Seriously, you need to try these things. They are filled with just the right amount of cheese, with just a slight twinge of heat on the tip of your tongue. Their beans and rice are pretty good, and do not have that weird after taste that I seem to get from other place. You need to try their spicy salsa, it is made with habaneros, and while it may be too spicy for some, it is just perfect for me. It is a beautiful orange color, and has a wonderful taste. This place does Mexican food right, and I can only hope that they continue to stay the same.

Love the guacamole here! Service has always been fast and they have several vegetarian options. Always love eating here when I'm on this side of town!

Never actually got to try the food. First, my order came out wrong. Not slightly wrong, but something completely different than what i ordered. They seemed a little annoyed when i asked for what id ordered, but no big deal. Finally bring out my order and once they leave, I realize its wrong again! (It was also all cold) This time noone comes to check on me. After waiting like 20 minutes, I walked out. Probably would never go here again.

My husband and I have eaten here twice, taking friends the second time. All the food items that we've ordered have been delicious, fresh and nicely presented. My friend said the enchiladas were the best she had ever had. The excellent table side guacamole is customized to patrons' taste. The manager and service staff were very attentive and accommodating to special diets. We've given the margaritas two tries and just don't care for the mix. It's sweet and has carbonation (maybe Sprite?) so we will stick to beer on our next visit.

Lunch today at Bravo's Mexican Grill. Tex-Mex well done. I was with friends and we sampled several of the daily lunch specials, all under ten dollars. I enjoyed a chicken burrito and a chicken enchilada that were quite good and just the right size for lunch. I'll be back to investigate the larger entrees! Bravo's is a good addition to the Tulsa scene.

If there was an option for 0 stars thats what I'd have given. Went here for lunch after hearing such great reviews. This place has nothing going for it. Started off with an odd smell when we walked in the place. Wait staff was friendly but completely clueless. Queso Fundido appetizer was served with our lunch, not before. The rum topping was attempted to be burned off but never caught fire so our Queso sat in a pool of alcohol. May be delicious for some, not this pregnant woman. I ordered the Speedy Gonzales, a cheese enchilada with red sauce, taco and Charo beans. I ended up with 2 chicken enchiladas. Returned my dish for the correct one. Enchilada was okay but red sauce was dressed with sour cream, not necessary and way too much of it. Charo beans were decent. Beef taco was soggy as it had been sitting in a bath of sauce. My husband ordered the steak fajitas with corn tortillas. He received chicken fajitas with flour tortillas. He just kept his order and was very unimpressed with the quality of the chicken. They were dry and lacking flavor. The rice was flavorless as well. Appeared to be white rice with maybe some chicken seasoning? The rice was by far the worst. Refried beans were blah, too. Very unimpressed. Waitress disappeared from time we ordered until check time then ended up bringing the wrong check. Manager tried to right all wrongs by giving us a free lunch for 2 on our next visit. Thanks, however there will not be a next visit.

First and last time at this restaurant. It is housed in the former Green Onion location. Open and clean. Friendly staff but had difficult time with waitress taking bar order. One of our friends ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio not once but twice because it was not Pinot Grigio. My meal was the chicken/meat combo fajitas. When it was delivered I received two (not the usual three) warm tortillas. Had to take one from my wife. Meat was tough to chew. Not much flavor to the fajitas. I am use to the presentation of the fajitas sizzling at delivery. Not so. Also no cut lettuce or cheese with the sides to add to your wrap. A little dollop of sour cream did not go far with 3 tortillas.

This is my first time here and thus far it is truly remarkable. I have never seen Mexican food prepared so expertly. Gorgeous, delicious and yummee! The service is beyond reproach. The house margarita is a value plus experience. Prices are more than reasonable. Try the table side guacamole. Awesome place. I just wished there was a Bravo Mexican Grill in Norman! Jesus Duarte...your restaurant is incredible. Thank you so much for a very memorable experience. I WILL be back!

I've been intending to checkout Bravos Mexican Grill since seeing it pop up on 51 and took some international friends for my first visit. We all enjoyed are dishes: tacos de carne asada, chile rellanos, spinach and chicken quesadilla, beans, and queso fundido for the appetizer which they light afire once served at the table. It's pretty cool and a great starter to the meal. It took 15-20 minutes to get our appetizer, which seemed a bit slow, but it's still worth it. The standard of the place seems to be on par with other Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants in the area of similar price range, but if you come for lunch you get great quality for around $7-8, which can hardly be beat. The complimentary salsa was ok, but the one that came with the carne asada tacos was much spicier and far better. I'll remember to ask for that one for the table next time. We also ordered a side of sautéed mushrooms and requested them spicy. I really like spicy foods and these came out great and spicier than I thought they'd be. It's a nice addition to the queso fundido and quesadillas too. Overall, I enjoyed this place and would return and also recommend it. Their lunch specials are an amazing value, and worth that alone: ours were only $6.90 each. I'd like to try their freshly made guacamole on my next visit, and will branch as several things on the menu look great, and I'd like to see what else Bravos has to offer.

I have been to this place under different management (two previous), and they were okay, but the new people know what they're doing! I didn't take advantage of the guacamole made at tableside, but I saw it done. Will be back for that! I had the #3 lunch menu with an enchilada and a spinach and chicken quesadilla. AWESOME, and only $8.25. Dinner prices go up, but I can't imagine complaining about that.

A major upgrade from the previous two restaurants in this space. The food is fresh and taste ' s great. Definitely the best tex-mex in the area.

Wonderful, fresh food in generous portions and at reasonable prices! One thing I liked was that there were some interesting items on the menu aside from the usual suspects at a Tex-Mex place. The Bravos Burrito, for instance, had an unusual grilled chicken and chorizo filling. They offer several different cuts of steak as well, and the Tapiquena (skirt steak) my husband ordered was very tender and tasted great! The table-side guacamole was very good, as other reviews had promised. My only problem with it was that the chips were a little too thin to stand up to the freshly made stuff we tried to dip them in, so we ended up spreading the guacamole on the chips instead of continually breaking them off in the avocado mixture. The menu had some promising looking desserts, but we were just too full to try them. Our waiter was excellent as well; he was attentive without being intrusive.

I have been wanting to try to this place as I have heard good things and always drive by it on my way to my office. So, today I was in the area and decided to give it a whirl. I am glad that I did. I moved to Tulsa 4 years ago from Phoenix. Phoenix has great Mexican food, so I was quite disenchanted that Tulsa had mediocre Mexican food. However, with that being said I have found some really great places. This actually would be one of them and ranks up there with caleveras, cancun, and elote. The server here was very good and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the steak street tacos that was served with black beans and rice. Also had to taste a cheese enchilada with red sauce. Both were cooked perfectly and were very tasty. The chips are the thin kind and were served like they had just been done in the fryer. All in all, this place is legit and will definitely be put in my Mexican food eating rotation! Holla!

Oh..my....gosh. This place rocks. Awesome food. Awesome service. A must try experience. And..THAT'S what I call a margarita! Jesus Duarte, the manager, runs a well oiled machine. Thank you, Jesus.

Food was good and similar to el tequila and señor tequila Friendly, but service a little off. Dedicated servers instead of the team concept we've come to expect in these Mexican joints! 12 margaritas ordered and 3 were wrong?? I don't know if was the server or bartender?? Being our first time and group of 6 we made a reservation and it was honored but not needed.

I hardly noticed when another Mexican restaurant popped up here, but now I wish I had! Everything from the perfectly portioned meal to the salsa was delicious but the star of the meal is definitely the fresh table side guacamole. Fresh, perfect avocados, delicious...it is a must have!

My wife and I had dinner here again last evening at 51st St location and it was excellent again! The flavors of the dishes we had were delicious. I had the # 8 Combo with cheese, chicken and beef enchiladas with rice and retried beans. My wife had the seafood enchiladas and they were superb as well. Do yourself a favor and order the fresh made-at-your-table guacamole as it is delicious as well!! All we can say is Bravo's lives up to their name!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
