I'm pretty easy to please, so I would be willing to give this place another shot during the weekend.. but man, skip it on a weeknight if you are looking for some fun. I saw on Yelp the place was open until 10pm, but we didn't arrive until 7:30 pm. By 8:15 all the chairs were up on the tables and we were the only table in the entire place. Even still, the service was slooow. The sour cream enchiladas got rave reviews from my co-workers, but the vegetarian options were slim. I went with the portobello burger and it was just okay. I left most of it on my plate. I had cheese fries as the side and wasn't even really impressed with those. The cheese was hardened on and I had to use ketchup to make them a bit less dry. I did like that they had Route 66 beers on tap, but at $4.25 for a pour, the prices weren't generous enough to make up for the lack of, well, everything. Again, it might be more lively on a weekend or if we could enjoy the patio.. but the time being I'd pass.

I had the world famous sour cream enchiladas. I was hood-winked and bamboozled by the name. Way to salty, the rice was ok at best and the beans I only had a spoonful. I Heard the beef brisket is the house special, so if it's a next time I might try it. Staff was very friendly and the place is nicely located behind the convention center and double tree. I gave it 2 stars cause of the convenience, staff, and cleanliness.

Baxter's has an interesting location in downtown. Some could say this is a weakness, but I consider this it's biggest strength. It's away from the hubbub of the Blue Dome and Brady Districts, close to BOK, the Tulsa Convention Center, as well as right next door the the Doubletree. Baxter's has a great atmosphere; quiet and dark. Perfect. There's a large meeting room with it's own bar, that's perfect for business lunches/dinners, etc. I'm a big fan of their patio- which is a great little downtown secret. The food is good, and the show-stealer is the burgers and sandwiches. The Honey Pepper Bacon Burger is the real star of the show. They run a $6 burger deal on Monday, and is a great choice for lunch. Also nightly, are rotating appetizer specials during the week. The Buffalo Chicken Strips are highly recommended. The service is good, especially with the seasoned servers. Always cool, conversational, and adept. It's a pleasure to dine at baxter's, or to even just hang out at their bar. Baxter's used to be well-known, The Interurban, back in the 80's. The tradition continues since Baxter bought it. He's very hands on, always around, and is great to chat with.

House chips were well seasoned and crisp. Not impressed with the Spinach Salad, chicken was cubed and odd color. Honey mustard dressing not a good compliment. Enchiladas were so so. Waitress not attentive to refills. "Mints" at the door were awful - coconut flavor???

Baxter's Interurban is "Our Neighborhood Restaurant" and we are thrilled to have Craig Baxter's fine establishment as a part of our "Home Away From Home." His staff is like a part of the family, and the menu has been excellent for years! I would suggest the Filet Mignon with Broccoli and a Caesar Salad. A piece of Leon's Chocolate Truffle Cake is the best in Tulsa! Whether you go in for lunch or dinner, you will notice that a lot of people seem to know the staff. That is because, like me, they are regulars, and have made Baxter's a part of their weekly ritual. The excellent atmosphere, the staff that has become our friends, and the OUTSTANDING FOOD... WHY GO ANYPLACE ELSE? THINK "CHEERS" where everybody knows your name. For those who are trying Baxter's for the first time, I bet it will not be your last visit!

This is the only restaurant in close walking distance to the Doubletree that I was forced to shack up in for two nights last week. Baxter's is leaps and bounds better than the hotel restaurant, so three stars are definitely warranted, maybe even four, considering the circumstances. The décor was dark. Think Houlihan's, circa 1995. The music was really bad. I heard Robert Palmer's "Some Like It Hot" (and, FML, it's STILL in my head) and other hits from the 80s during my tenure at the bar. The employees were nice. I chatted with the bartender who was a friend of a friend of a guy who was drafted to the Eagles this year. I'm pretty sure the locally grown/organic wave hasn't hit the Midwest yet. My intentions of eating clean went straight out the window when I realized I would have to eliminate at least three toppings on any given salad I ordered. Since salads were the only menu items that included vegetables, I ordered the buffalo chicken salad, with dressing on the side and an extra cup of hot sauce to drizzle over the greens in place of some of the dressing. It was damn good, and I didn't feel as guilty as I expected after eating it. I washed it down with three light beers while watching part of the World Series game, and my bill total was only sixteen dollars and change. The moral of this story is, do not go to Tulsa... but if you absolutely must, Baxter's will sustain you.

I was pleasantly surprised by Baxter's although I'm somewhat confused as to what 'interurban' means. Located 3-minutes from the Doubletree, Baxter's is described by the locals as a 'local Applebees' and features many similar offerings. Service prompt and friendly and our server knowledgeable and helpful. Beers served ice-cold. Had the brisket enchiladas and requested extra hot. Brisket tender and flavorful, tortilla pleasantly toothsome, red sauce flavorful but still lacking in heat. I was pleased to see my enchilada wasn't drenched in cheese. Rice good but a bit bland. My coworkers were pleased with their offerings (fish tacos and chicken enchilada) although I can't explicitly comment on them. Very fairly priced; around $10 for the enchiladas, $4 for the local Tulsa brew.

Have been there a few times, would go agin for the burgars especially. The staff is accommodating and curious, though... getting someone's attention takes time. All and all it gets a 3 out of 5 good service and very nice burgers. Where it lacks is in the pasta department my pasta was not what I expected, it was on the hard side (so I had to send it back and get a burger)

This was yet one more find on our out of town trip to Tulsa. If we would have had access to a car we probably would have never tried but I am glad we did. I had a Chicken Parmesan salad and it was awesome. The chicken was very light and was not greasy at all! The service was super friendly and they waited on us very quickly. I can say I will be back next time I am in Tulsa for work or any other event!

Outdated and the staff was not friendly Hard to get drinks refilled even water Food was ok ... Feels like table was dirty or had a serious coat of wax . Read about it in the Oklahoma magazine in the hotel room looks way better in the photos Skip it ... There's gotta be better

Your generic TGIF/Chili's-type restaurant and bar. If you are within walking distance, it's probably one of the better options for lunch unless you get in your car to drive elsewhere. I went with the soup and sandwich combo. The ham and cheese soup was a bit saltier than for my liking, but it was fine. The smoked turkey and swiss on wheat berry sandwich was fine as well. The tea was fine. The service was fine. So, fine.

I saw some of the reviews on this spot & no one seemed pleased. Maybe they caught it on a bad day/night because what I had, was INCREDIBLE!!!!! I ordered the New Orleans Orange Roughy, it was perfection. The filet sat on a bed of rice & asparagus with a tasty chipotle aioli. The components complimented each other to perfection. So, once again, maybe they caught this place on a bad day/night because my dinner was phenomenal.

Best steak I've had in a long time. The sirloin melted like butter. All the other orders came out very well also

This place is okay. I enjoyed my Ruben but my wife's burger was not good. It was edible, but not good. I cant figure out the niche this place is trying to accomplish. It's like a mix between an TGIFridays and an office space. Either the owner or manager was walking around making sure that customers who were not happy with there order were satisfied with the final product they received. That is great, but just try to get it right the first time. I imagine this place will only survive because of it's close proximity to the BOK

Not so sure WTF "interurban" means but maybe it means dark bar with funny odor when you walk in, and lots of fake plants. Food was not bad, ordered a salad and the greens were nice and fresh, chicken was battered though, not grilled so be sure to be specific when you order. The house garlic vinaigrette was a very delightful surprise - clearly freshly made with fresh garlic. Bread, unfortunately was hard as a rock. But - service was prompt and a salad and beer was only $8.00 - less than the cost of a lemonade at the Doubletree around the corner where I stayed. For $8.00 it did the job, but didn't leave me dying to return.
