Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

It was okay Mexican food...it's not bursting with flavor by any means...the cheese dip was good but a little spicy. The restaurant looked very clean and it didn't take long for our food to come out. I had the carne asada tacos which were a let down and he had a chimichanga that was good. The rice was so so.

Pretty good overall. Their biggest issue is consistency. Sometimes when I go I'll order the same thing I did before but it will taste totally different. However, overall it tastes fine. They have a lot of options, which is good. The food tastes good. The atmosphere is nice. I get take out a lot too. Overall 4 out of 5.

Good authentic Mexican food. Fantastic service! This is my choice of Mexican food in Stillwater. Order the queso; it's worth it.

I'll admit, being from Texas and having been exposed to some top-notch Tex-Mex, I have some really high standards for my Mexican food. I ordered the steak enchiladas, and when it came out I was a little unimpressed with the presentation, but hey, don't judge a book by it's cover, right? After digging in, I was actually fairly impressed with how good it was. The service was good and the overall dining experience was fairly good as well. I plan to go back and try their fajitas next.

I love this place. The service is always fast and friendly. Having lived on the Mexican border I know good Mexican food and have a very high expectation. I can say this is as close as it comes in stillwater. The fajitas are perfect for splitting between two people with a couple of pomegranate margaritas.

Great food, good pricing! The waitress was a little out of it but no worries. Still had a good time and enjoyed the food. Came out in a good timely manner. Unlimited chips and salsa. Had the sampler and I filled up. It was great. I have never been before and it was great way to test the place out.

What is up with the poor reviews? This place is good. I almost didn't come here because of the reviews, but I'm glad I decided to try it out anyway. It's a great value for lunch. The lunch specials range in $5-9 and the portions are huge. My Mom turned the lunch fajitas into two meals. That's awesome for less than $10. The food is definitely above average and the service is attentive and friendly. My Dad is one of the hardest guys to please and he loves this place now. That says a lot. El Tapatio long held the spot as #1 Mexican restaurant in Stillwater, at least in my book, but I think Palominos has displaced it. This will be the Mexican restaurant of choice for me the next I'm visiting my parents.

Love this place. Been coming here since I started school here. Price is reasonable and they're extremely fast! I've never had problems with wait time, it's a huge restaurant. Lunch ends at 330 and if you can make it, it's a great deal! They have combos from 3-7$. And I recently found out they have free sopapilla with your meal!

First off let me say that I pick Palomino's over Mexico Joe's any day. I'm not sure about the bad reviews, but I've never had a bad meal here. Sure, it's not authentic Mexican food, but pretty much none of what we call Mexican food in America is authentic (it's Tex-Mex). Palomino's is nicely decorated, large so waits aren't too long, & have generous portions. The staff is always nice, & the food is good. However, service can be a little slow & when you first check out the menu the food is a little expensive compared to other restaurants in the area like Chili's. That being said, I will willingly pay extra to support a local restaurant. The queso is great, as are the fajitas.

Tropical quesadilla is AMAZING!! And the mango margarita is delicious!! Service is great. And it's right by the theater so it's perfect for a date night

I would like to say that this is a 4.5 rating based mainly on their pre-meal set up. They give salsa and chips, no tortillas and no cheese sauce. They offer these but you will pay extra. However, they have the white queso sauce that is quite delicious! Staff was nice and helpful and my food was very enjoyable. I had spinach and veggie enchilada! I will be back when I am back in town.

The food was not anything spectacular. And the waitress really seemed to not want to be working, so our experience wasn't very good. We wouldn't go back.

Had the beef fajitas and a Bluemoon. Did I forget to mention the Bluemoon was a buck. 20 ounces of orange goodness for a buck! The fajitas are good and the service is fast and friendly. Would recommend for anyone looking for a good lunch for ten bucks including leaving a tip!

I had the chicken fajita and it as the best chicken fajita i had (it was my first), they also had fried ice cream which was good too, but i still haven't tasted the others since I had to move :'(

Tex Mex at its best! With a variety of choices for tex-mex/Mexican food around Stillwater, Palominos served up memorable dishes which satisfied my appetite. The service was top notch with at least 2 waiters checking in on us throughout the meal. Not once did I have to ask for a refill on beverages. The carne asada and carnitas were cooked perfectly and very well seasoned. The tilapia entrée consisted of two very large pieces of tilapia seasoned and cooked very well. Well made margaritas on the rocks along with a nice imported draft menu helped round out the experience.

Went for supper on a Wednesday night and we were seated immediately. Chips and salsa came to the table right away and were quite good- chips very thin, not greasy, and arrived warm. I ordered the seafood flautas ($12.99) and the hubs got a 5-cheese chimi ($10.99). Our entrees were on the pricier side of the menu. Both were really good. The tortillas were lightly fried and then grilled. The shrimp on mine were pretty overcooked but the crab was delicious. The black beans and red rice were really good. Mine came with a corn muffin that I didn't care for. I got a classic or traditional margarita ($4.50) - don't remember the exact name, but it was large, didn't come from a mix, and really tasty. While we were there, a huge table of OSU students came in and ordered copious amounts of "alcohol and chips" (direct quote). One of the kids asked for "the biggest margarita you make," and was delivered a towering glass that turned the heads of everyone in the room. It was quite impressive. I think I heard the waiter say it was $15, but I could be wrong. Our waiter was good and quite friendly, though he did get less attentive once the table of booze-swilling chip eaters showed up. The floor felt a little sticky in places and the overall cleanliness was not immaculate. Definitely like they had a busy day and didn't get to it kind of thing and not gross or anything that would keep me from wanting to go back. So this seems to be a solid place whether you're in the mood for good Mexican food or simply a night of alcohol and chips.

I am mortified! Food was ok. Went to the restroom and found this. They were in all lights. If they are left In the restroom for everyone to see, what is in the kitchen? Yuk!!

Service is good but the food is very bland, even for "white people Mexican food." One positive is that they do have a lot of lower priced options so at least it's affordable.
