Several months ago some friends told my husband and me about Blue Cow Store. We had to travel to Lawton for business and on our way back stopped in for a late lunch / early dinner. I ordered the Stampede burger which includes American cheese, caramelized onions, jalapeño bacon jelly, and mustard (which I substituted with mayo) and french fries. My husband ordered their daily special, the Spicy Blue burger, and our daughter ordered a "calf" burger with fries. The Stampede did not disappoint. Besides the stated toppings it was also loaded with lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. The combination of sweetness from the caramelized onions and smoky heat from the jalapeño bacon jelly was perfect. The patty was cooked just right without being dry and the fries were ... excellent. In fact, the fries were some of the best that I've ever had. They were seasoned well and crispy without being overcooked. My husband devoured his burger in seconds flat (he said it was so good he couldn't stop) and my little girl actually ate the entire patty (she's not a bread fan). If you ever happen to wander off of the beaten path while in Oklahoma I would highly recommend giving Blue Cow Store a try.

Loved the experience. Great service, friendly atmosphere. Nothing you would expect going down a blink and you would miss town. But that's sort of what makes this place endearing. That and you top it off with great burgers and fries. We also had a chance to try the nachos with brisket. Brisket was soft and flavorful but the star of the nachos were the pickled jalepenos.... Mild kick but finishes sweet. I don't think anyone would be disappointed checking this place out. If you are in the area, There isn't Another place better than here.

I was somewhat skeptical of this restaurant and despite the reviews, didn't think that there could be such a restaurant in Sterling, OK. I was udderly surprised..... The building still looks like a gas station and the inside still has a few coolers and a main counter in which you can purchase candy bars and cigarettes. Don't let this scare you away. I had the ham and egg breakfast sandwich with hashbrowns and it was homemade perfection for about $5. Absolutely delish. My husband got the world's most perfect omelet. The egg encasing his meat and veggies was perfect and thin. I'm sure he uploaded his picture on here already. The service was perfect. The server was perfectly attentive. I will make a special trip to Sterling just for the Blue Cow!!

Wow! What a great place! Made from a old converted gas station it had fun concept and a comfortable feel. The omelet I had was no joke the best I have ever had. The egg was thin and it was absolutely stuffed with all the fixens. The hashbrowns were cooked and seasoned perfectly and the biscuits ate hufe. The gravy was very tasty too. The service was fast freindly and inviting. I will definitely be going there again whenever I'm in Sterling. 5 stars well earned!!

Had lunch today and it was great. I had the blue cow burger. It had lots of blue cheese and BBQ sauce. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich which she said was very good. The French fries were the best I have ever eaten. The service was outstanding.

Best kept secret near Elgin. On the short drive to Sterling, you'd miss it if you didn't know what you were looking for. Do NOT judge this book by its cover, The Blue Cow Store is located in an old gas station-converted-to-diner-but-somehow-still-a-gas-station thingy. Hold the door for your sweetie and step into a convenience store with tables in the heart of it instead of aisles holding condoms and cupcakes. It's actually quite charming, like Grandma's house if Granny lived in an old Gas Station, because she gives the grandkids crayons to color on the table. Down-home-friendly-atmosphere, and we haven't even gotten to the food and service yet. Get the 'Pistol' sandwich, lightly butter-toasted sourdough with shaved, griddle crisped turkey and ham, bacon and mild cheddar topped with ranch. It was so good I almost left My Wife for it. Get the pulled pork nachos, a great spin on an overplayed appetizer full of smoked pork, homemade queso cheese, homemade chips, green onions, big enough to share. Oh, and get their burgers, hand-pressed REAL beef with thoughtful toppings ranging from standard cheeses to other meats and they even make their own jalapeno bacon jelly! Honestly, get one of everything, there's not a single thing on that menu that isn't done from scratch. You also get some Oklahoma Caviar with each meal(stewed beans!!!) which come with red onions, pickled peppers and shredded cheese, help-yourself-style. Did I mention even the french fries are homemade? YEP, pressed, fried, sea-salted and carefully tossed with some parsley, I think that qualifies them as a salad so you don't have to feel bad ordering more. They also have actual entree salads, there's something for everybody! If you live in or near Elgin, you no longer have to drive hours to The City to get a good quality meal, just head on over to The Blue Cow Store. CHEERS!!!

Must stop if you happen to be making your way through sterling. Family run joint with great food, reasonable prices and friendly people. I recommend the Pistol sandwich with fries. Never been for breakfast, but the waitress strongly recommended the biscuits and gravy.

Expect the unexpected in this small town corner store/diner, where they serve really, really good food! Love the Blue Cow Burger and fries.

We come about once a week for lunch. The burgers and fries are fantastic! With your meal comes a bowl of beans (self-serve) with cheese, jalapeños and onions. My husband loves them. They also have great iced tea.
