Fried Cream Corn- What? Yeah! It is so freaking good your head will clear for launch from NASA. I normally hit up the lunch buffet during week days if I am ever in Sapulpa. Its inexpensive and the have a good selection on the buffet. This is were the locals eat. Its a historic route 66 bbq stop. And it is good.

I wasn't sure about this place because of the mixed reviews. Unfortunately, the poor reviews are the accurate ones and the rave reviews are way off. * Minus 1 star for having no brisket on the buffet at 6:30 PM. * Minus 1/2 star for the ribs being dry. * Minus 1/2 star for the chicken being dry. The servers are high school girls. They are all pleasant and helpful. The buffet only had chicken, pulled pork, ribs, and bologna for the meat selection. Like I said above, the ribs and chicken were dry. The pulled pork was pretty tasty. Because of the limited selection, I tried a small piece of smoked bologna. Well, it was bologna - a waste of perfectly good smoke! I stay away from carbs so I didn't try any of the sides or desserts. The salad bar was sparse. I had a salad with iceberg lettuce, onions and cheese with Ken's blue cheese dressing. If I had written this review right after I ate, Hickory House would have received three stars because of the deductions above. However, an hour or so after I ate, I was getting kickbacks and heartburn. That never happens to me! * Minus 2 stars for the food kicking back and causing heartburn. If you have any doubts about this review, please check my other reviews. I give fair, accurate, and usually positive reviews. Sorry I couldn't do that here.

I like this place because the food and service is pretty consistent. For $12 you get an endless buffet of ribs, brisket, smoked bologna, beans, salad bar, and much more. Their food doesn't WoW my tastebuds, but it's always hot and fresh...and I LOVE their hot barbecue sauce! Oh ya, an if you have any room after all the barbecue (or can unbutton your top button like my husband) they usually have a pretty good apple or peach cobbler that you can top off with ice-cream!

Let's start this review off by saying I had to loosen my belt getting back in the car. The food is good. The BBQ doesn't knock your socks off, but I kept going back and back to the buffet so that speaks in itself. I really liked the bologna and I bet the ribs are great if you catch them at the right time. Because it was a buffet, you have the whole keeping the food heated factor. Love the fried potatoes and sweet tea. I got full and I still went back for cobbler and ice cream. I was going to give 3 stars, but how can I when I like the staff, love the environment (though hearing Obama's voice on their television while I'm eating isn't appealing) and over-stuffed myself. Now where's the toothpicks?

Vary good BBQ, wait staff was friendly. I loved the smoked turkey sandwich; the pork was average. The sauce was great! Will stop here again.

We had lunch at the Hickory House and the food was so good. The lunch buffet is what you are looking for. Great variety of meats and the bbq sauce is tasty. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. This place has been around for a long time and will be around for many years to come. Keep up the great work.

The service here was fine. You immediately knew you weren't a regular by the questions asked. We chose the dinner buffet which was 12.95 per person. The offerings included bbq Bologna, sausage, and brisket. There was a soup area and the offering was brisket chili. The salad selection had tabouli, broccoli salad, potato salad, lettuce mix, and some pudding and fruit salad (canned). The sides were Mac n cheese, baked beans. Green beans, and I'm not sure what else. Oh yes thee was apple cobbler and ice cream for dessert and they also had sliced bread you took out of the sleeve with tongs. The dining area was a bit confusing but comfortable. There were relics of car tags and center caps hung about. The server asked if we wanted spicy sauce and I said yes, and it was Brought out in a foam bowl with a spoon, and the regular sauce in a squirt bottle already on all tables. The brisket was the star for the meat. The Bologna was just that...Bologna. Husband had the sausage and Bologna and brisket and got second helpings of beans and brisket. The veggie lover I am, I loaded up more on sides and some Bologna and brisket. The brisket was tender and not too over smoked. There were pieces of bark in it was well, and honestly the burnt ends were better than the actual brisket. The non burnt ends were almost watery and pale and didn't have a smoke ring on it. Almost boiled. The sausage has even "returned" itself today on my husbands palate, not such a pleasant thing. The tabouli was better than Freddie's who touts their tabouli. The beans were sweet and smokey. The Mac and cheese was meh...it was a bit runny, and could have been remedied by cooking off the top with some shreds or something. The taste was fine, but the sauce was watery. The staff seamed to make sure that everything kept being topped off. The apple cobbler my husband had was good but the apples and crust were a bit tough. Myself, for 12.95, it wasn't worth it for what we got. I mean, it's a barbecue place and there were only 3 selections of actual meat, and the brisket chili was so feathered it was more like eating beans and tomatoes. We may try it again to see if it was an off night, or eat off the menu next time, but for the price we paid (37.00 two people, with sodas and tip of 5.00), I guess we expected more.

This place is repulsive! Terrible food! Nothing is made from scratch, and if it is then shame on them. If you like crappy food then this is your place, but if you would rather eat real food, then go elsewhere.

It's not a big Buffett. I was excited to eat ribs, husband wanted hot links. But they didn't have either that day. I did like the corn nuggets. Maybe we'll try this another time and hopefully they will have more meat.

Great food. Ribs were great. Service was good. And the ambience was nice. Clean and professional. I'll go back. Lots of food options and my kids loves the Mac and cheese. Their kids pricing is very fair and they were happy!

This place awesome! Went for the lunch buffet. Killer service, great food. If you're looking for small town BBQ you won't be disappointed.

Great price on lunch buffet. Baloney and hot link? or sausage seemed about the same thing. Pork, and cottage fries good. Broccoli salad good.
