Tulsa sushi..well its sushi in the middle of no where. No offense to my tulsa peeps but this place served less than good sushi. Tulsa has so many great places to offer so I was a bit surprised that this place was so Ho hum. The fish seemed fresh enough but the rice around the sushi was extremely mushy. We had the sampler appetizer and well..the egg rolls were good, and the other unidentifiable objects on our plate..not that great. The restaurant is nice and the servers were friendly, I guess it would have been a bit more of a hit if the food was a bit better and the prices weren't so high. I am from the West Coast so I think i'm use to a different kind of Sushi.

Akira is one of my absolute favourite sushi places ever. They have a nice selection of rolls to choose from as well as nigiri and Japanese entrees if you don't care for sushi. The rolls range from traditional to more American style, and everything in between. My personal favourites are the Spicy Tuna Roll, Lobster Roll, Mye Roll, Disco Roll, and Eel Roll. I never order entrees when I eat there but if I go there with someone who does I try a bite of them. The Japanese curry is really good, as well as the Yakisoba. My mom also says the Sesame Chicken is one of the best she's ever had. Another thing I love about Akira is that you can call in orders to go. The staff there is always super friendly, I've never had any problems with bad food, messed up orders, or rude staff. Definitely check this place out if you're in the Owasso area!

Love this place! Friendly staff and very giving to the town which is great. Not to mention, their food is fabulous. My only complaint is that I feel the appitizers are a little too pricy (crab cakes are 7 dollars for 4 of them.. so 3 bucks each.) Like them on Facebook for deal of the day!

The atmosphere is very calming, with high-backed booths and low lighting. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Everything I have had has been phenomenal, the Thai tea is excellent. I usually have sesame chicken, which is perfectly cooked and always consistent. The jalapeño blossom has a very original taste, and the crab cakes are a must.

Giving this place a 4 star because of very excellent service! Great variety of sushi rolls. Prices are decent. Youll enjoy your roll. This is one of the places where you can come back knowing that you will be well taken cared of. Rolls was delicious. Pricey rolls goes up to 18$ but wont be regretted. Thanks alot will come back !

Good sushi & for an even better price! For the quality & quantity they give you (as far as sushi goes) it's pretty amazing. Most rolls cost no more than $11 but there are a few that may be a couple of bucks more. This is my second time visiting & I had the Hanson Roll, which consists of fried shrimp, avocado, & cream cheese with imitation crab on the outside. It's a 10-piece & is only $8! They have many types of sushi to choose from, which will probably make you visit well more than once or twice. The place is real mellow, nice for groups & they do have a surrounding of televisions. They also have a bar where you can see the chefs make the sushi right in front of you as well (if you're into that). There aren't many sushi spots in this area so I recommend this place!

I love this place. Very helpful and friendly staff. The restaurant is always clean. Lovely dinner ambiance. And the food itself is delicious and offered in good portion sizes for the prices. Speedy delivery for both take-out and dine-in, too. I just cannot sing their praises enough. So happy Owasso finally has a good Asian food restaurant.

Best sushi in Owasso! Until recently they didn't have any real competition. Now the Japanese steakhouse has opened, but Akira is still my favorite. I have been here countless times with my husband or our families for lunch and dinner. We have never had a bad experience. We always have amazing service. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful. My husband and I usually share an appetizer and a few sushi rolls. On our last trip I was craving their salmon. The salmon is served over white or brown rice covered in a sesame sauce. I'm not usually a fan of sesame seeds, but this sauce is divine. I always ask for extra. The salmon was perfectly cooked. I've had it with the white and brown rice and white is my favorite, but brown is good too if I'm trying to be a little healthier. I love their pork dumplings fried and sauteed. We've never had a sushi roll we didn't like here. I always go for the spicy ones and they have a good variety. I'm very picky about sushi and like the non-traditional rolls which they have several of. Great, now I'm craving their salmon again. Guess I'll have to go back again soon!

Akira Sushi Bar has everything a good sushi place should have. Not only that, they go beyond that to offer even more than what you consider acceptable. I took my mom here since we had been craving sushi for a while. We were greeted by a nice hostess and seated promptly. She gave us menus and the waiter was soon at our table. Akira has certain Japanese traditions not everyone might be familiar with. First of all, the waiter brings hot/wet towels or "oshibori" for you to wipe your hands. It was obvious that this was our first time there and the waiter did a wonderful job filling us in on the happenings here. He explained everything to us and even pointed out his own favorite dishes on the menu. We had green tea, edamame as an appetizer, miso soups, the caterpillar roll and the avocado and philadelphia cheese roll. The food was excellent. All of it. The other tradition Akira partakes in is bringing you cut oranges and cherries after your meal. This was an absolute perfect way to end our meal. Love this place. Get yourself some sushi here soon!

The sushi is fresh, so props for that. However some rolls are better than others. The tiger eye is not the best but the Philly rolls and fresh veggie rolls are very good. Staff is very kind and courteous.

Panamodium roll is one of the best I ever had. My sons steak was delicious, The place is small and it was packed so service was a bit spotty. We will definatly be back.

Great service and great sushi. One of the things that I look for when deciding if a sushi place is good or not is if they carry Uni. I know, most people don't love it like I do, but real sushi enthusiasts know its appeal. Another is chef's suggestions. One of the chefs here told me that they just got a fresh order of tuna in and that it was really good. He was right, very fresh and a great cut. The roll I got was also very good and well put together. I would eat here again.

Sushi in Oklahoma? There are a few good places in the Tulsa area, and this one is near the top. Great sushi bar and traditional Japanese dishes and service. Hot towels, hot sake, hot tea, hot sauce. You get the picture. Fresh stuff. Unagi, Maguro, etc, they have it all.

When I saw there was another sushi restaurant, I was cautiously optimistic. I didn't have time to dine in today, so I ordered sushi to go. I ordered Ika salad, unagi, a Southside Roll, and another roll of which I forgot the name. I raced home, as I hate take home sushi. I was very pleased with everything that I ordered. The wait staff at the restaurant was very helpful

Fantastic!! Well Done. Brand New Sushi Bar by two Long Time Sushi Chefs. I have followed these guys from Fuji's to Flying Fish and the have finally opened their Own Place. Freshest Yellowtail I have had. Huy and Quinton will give you the best sushi experience in the state. Thanks guys. So glad you took the Leap. I've only been here once. I thought the sushi was ok. I didn't like the way they made the rice. I haven't tried any entrees yet. I didn't expect much out of this place since I'm new to the area but it tasted ok enough. Service was a lot better than the food and because of that, I'd eat there again.

I'm a longtime sushi lover, and for years my go to place was Fuji in Tulsa. No longer do I have to make the trek to T-town for great sushi. Thank you Akira!!!! Food is excellent, service is great and atmosphere is top notch. As good as it gets.
