I really wanted to give this place five stars. We made early reservations on a Saturday night. When we entered we were immediately greeted and all the staff immediately surrounded my three year old daughter and gave her crayons, coloring books, etc. They were very kind to all of us and our waitress was unbelievable! She was very helpful, assertive, polite and we all really enjoyed her. Their garlic olive oil and bread was fantastic; probably the best dipping oil I've had at a restaurant. The bottle of prosecco we ordered was also very good as were the caesar salads, but then we got our entrees. I ordered eggplant parmesan and it wasn't cooked all the way. The breading was too thick so it would just fall off and it wasn't flavorful. The eggplant was actually crunchy. The carrots and broccoli were practically raw. The ziti pasta served on the side was pretty good. My mother ordered veal marsala and one of the cutlets was impossible for her to cut in to. Thankfully, they didn't charge us for her meal. Our dinner at Vitos started off great and ended horribly which is really unfortunate because the staff is truly fantastic and the atmosphere is great, but the food was less than mediocre. I really wanted this place to be better than it is. It seems maybe we just had a rare bad experience, considering all the 4 and 5 star reviews. 3 stars because the staff was incredible. This place seriously has the best service ever. If it weren't for them, I would've left a 1-2 star rating. I'd like to say I'd go back and try it again, but I do not think that will be happening any time soon.

Having recently spent a month in Italy, I can say without hesitation, that Vito's food is amazing. Not only is the food superb the staff and management are fantastic!

I recommend this restaurant to anyone our experience is always good. Cathy is extremely nice and the staff is great as well. I ordered the Linguine and it was great. I'm not a fan of the bread but that doesn't matter when you get good service and food. Just make sure you call ahead because sometimes it's dead and sometimes it's packed.

New resident to OKC, looking for something to soothe my homesickness, Vito's seemed, from the reviews, to be a never- disappointing spot for good Italian. And it was. They welcomed us with a smile, and a good attitude, sat us where we requested ( back corner, best for low- key people watching), and got us started with a bread basket and some amazing aglio e olio. there olde tyme photos of Vito and the fam on the wall, clearly indicating the authenticity of Vito's skill as an Italian chef.Next time, I'll go easy on the bread, as I was too full to finish my main course. The entrees, salmon for him, and shrimp for me, were both very good. A nice bottle of chianti ( I know, it should have been a white, but I'll never care, chianti is an Italian restaurant must-have for me). The customers were seated close together, dressed pretty much business causal, and overall, weren't much fun to be around. The staff, on the other hand, were all great. When we left, perhaps around 9pm, the place was almost empty. I don't get why OKC shuts down so early! we meandered to the coffee joint across the street for a little caffeine, and then took a long, peaceful drive around the city. In summary, this is a good place! Consider going!

I'm not usually a fan of Italian because typical Italian restaurants serve cheap store bought pastas and normal typical sauces which you can typically make yourself for less than $5. Not this place. I was very impressed by their fresh homemade pastas! We had a group of 4 and ordered several dishes including their home specialties. I got a goat cheese shrimp pasta that was awesome. Though the food is 5/5 for me and it is the best Italian I've had in OKC so far, the dishes were still pretty steep. My dish was $25, but if it was around ~$15, I would have given this place a 5. Thus, 5/5 for the food. 3.5/5 for value (just my opinion though). Still, it is the best Italian in OKC for me so far.

The friendliest owner & servers ever. Make a reservation and EVERYONE will know your name when you arrive. Love the personalized attention. My eggplant Parmesan was perfect (not soggy) wit Cathy's Soga sauce and crispy broccoli. My husband ordered cheese ravioli with meatball, which were seasoned well with Cathy's slightly sweet red sauce. Don't miss the amaretto cheesecake if you have room; it is mildly sweet with thick buttery graham crust. Will be back with friends.

Grilled Portobello mushroom appetizer is a vegan delight! And I'm no vegan! The meat sauce over the lasagna had me nearly licking my plate....thick, rich, mild. Sangiovese wine is fun to say, and even better to drink! My wife loved every bite as well. The garlic bread was soooooo good!! We shared a piece of Italian cream cake for dessert. Perfect-o! Manga!!

This is a nice, family owned and operated Italian food place. It has a nice ambiance. Good date night kind of spot, but also family friendly. The customer service is really good. Our server was efficient and friendly and did a fine job. They serve a basket of bread with a garlic dipping sauce that is really tasty. I could have eaten just that and would have been pretty satisfied. They have a pretty good menu with pastas, chicken dishes, seafood dishes. They also have nightly specials. All dinners come with a salad. The caesar salad was pretty good. I kept it pretty simple, pasta with red sauce and meatballs. The meatballs were moist and flavorful. Thumbs up! The pasta was cooked slightly more than al dente, but it wasn't overcooked. The sauce was good, not great. My coworkers enjoyed their food. The salmon got raves. I watched the waiter carry a plate of mussels to another table and I definitely had food envy. I had a creme brulee for dessert and it was good. I just really enjoy cracking the hard sugar top. It's definitely one of those little things in life that are just so inexplicably satisfying. All in all a very nice dining experience and I would come back without hesitation.

I haven't found an Italian restaurant that strikes my fancy in the city. I am not a raging Italian food fan mainly because of the carbs. Yeah, I'm one of THOSE people. I have heard so many good things about Vitos and pass by it every time I go to Sean Cummings. It was finally time to test this baby out. We ordered: -Clams in a white wine broth- Tasty, but I did get some sand in a couple of my clams. -Chicken Spadenni- The chicken was probably the best thing. The penne pasta tasted run of the mill. Probably my least favorite thing of the bunch. -Cioppino- Valiant effort. The flavor was just too mild for me. No sand in my mussel, so that was a plus. -Spumoni Ice Cream- Think the Italian version of Neapolitan. The only prob was we got three separate scoops of the flavors. I've never had Spumoni served like this before, so there's a first for everything! It was good. -Bread with garlic dipping sauce- The bread was good warm. I couldn't get enough of the pungent garlic sauce! My fiance said I reeked of it when I got home :( Our server was really very nice and accommodating. The atmosphere was very homely and I thought the alcove area in the front of the restaurant were the best seats in the house. The food was okay. If I were to dine here again, I'd probably opt to try another chicken dish. FYI - The restrooms are located next door at Sean Cummings.

This is definitely on of those places that rival Italian mom's cooking. Everything I have ever eaten is amazing! The owner is always there and makes it special for all of her guests. Truly a must for anyone.

Did it used to occupy both spaces? Land & Sea a recent subdivide? Seems cramped and 'turn the table' rushed to me. Talented kitchen to be sure. Simian, the waiter, promised "8 oz filet" on the Evening Special. Interested parties may "Ask Jeeves" if a 2" x 1.5" x 1.5" portion can possibly be 8 ounces. Caesar salad pretty good, but on TINY plate at our TINY four top. Did like the GARLIC in oil provided with spoon for the flavorful bread.....once you disturb the Sea Floor your entire space is redolent of the stuff.....so am I next day.

It's located in a strip mall on May with another restaurant located next to it. We ate here the other night. Two of us. Got seated promptly. It was busy but not jam packed because it was past prime time. I had the Alaskan salmon, which was not on the menu. It was excellent. Took part of it home as well. It is prepared with a white sauce, some capers, and some pasta underneath and spinach leaves. It was REALLY good, even the next day reheated in the micro. My friend had the chicken parmesan off the menu, which she said was very good as well. We took home two desserts. A chocolate mousse, and the Italian cake. Both were excellent. All in all, with one glass of wine, iced tea, dinners, and desserts, we hit the $70 mark on the bill before tipping. The tables are very close together. So any conversation is easily overheard by those next to you. Food was great. Would definitely go back again another time.

My favorite Italian place in central Oklahoma! Freshly made pasta, excellent olives and sausages, and the best sugo I've had outside NYC, Chicago, and Rome. Wonderfully romantic ambience, too!

We've heard so many good things about Vito's that we knew we HAD to take it out for a spin. So this past Friday Date night we decided the time had come...and we have been Jonesing for some good Italian food for awhile. The place is tiny, seating just about 50 in tight quarters...think retail space split into two as they share the location with Sean Cummings next door. Interesting concept...Italian and Irish splitting up the space. We didn't make a reservation but we went early and had no problem...only a few of the folks who came in after us had reservations, but next time we'll call ahead and make one just to be safe. As soon as we were seated water and fresh focaccia found it's way to the table. We both like, no make that LOVE, garlic and their bread dip is a refreshing change...olive oil and tons of garlic...no balsamic vinegar in sight. YUM!!! Since I'd been the one Jonesing for lasagne for awhile my choice was easy, while hubby went with the chicken parmesan and we both had the caesar salad. When I saw a lemon cello on the menu another choice was made for me and hubby went with a glass of Pinot. The lemon cello is probably the best I have had in the area! A great start to the evening. The caesar salad had a slight hint of anchovy in the dressing...not over powering, just a hint of flavor that really brings the flavor alive. The lasagne was filling and seasoned well, but the sauce was a just a tad too sweet for my liking. Still it was yummy. The chicken parmesan was really good...I didn't even notice the sweetness to the sauce when I tried it and hubby agreed. Since it was date night and since they had Italian cream cake on the menu, we HAD to have dessert. THIS is where they lost a star. We love a good Italian cream cake and even selected it for our wedding cake...so we don't pass it by often. Sadly, we should have skipped dessert as the cake wasn't all that flavorful and the raspberry sauce they drizzled on top wasn't all that great either. Perhaps it's just the Universe's way of saying "NO DESSERT FOR YOU!" We'll keep this in mind next time we go back...and we WILL go back!

Vito's has been a family favorite for years! The food and service are always wonderful and Cathy just makes you feel so welcome every time you walk in the door! Favorites are the linguine primavera, chicken spedini, the ravioli and just about any steak special they offer. The servers have all been there for years and are just great! I highly recommend Vito's to anyone and everyone!

Vito's truly impressed me when my family came here for my little brother's birthday. Firstly, they were able to take a reservation for 8 just 30 minutes in advance which is pretty much unheard of for a Friday night. Next, their complimentary bread was pretty great and our service was some of the best I've ever had. They made sure we were taken care of at all times. Nearly all of us ordered a different dish so I was able to try several things. I'm a typical spaghetti and meatballs kind of girl, which I think gives a good inclination on their food because that is a staple of Italian food. I also tasted the shrimp spedini, cheese ravioli and pasta primavera. All were delicious! I think I may have found my new go to Italian restaurant in OKC, finally!

Amazing food friendly service! Hands down some of the best food I've ever had!! Cathy was very sweet and accommodating as we had my newborn and elderly mother-in-law, she even held my newborn while we ate! We will definitely be back hard to try another restaurant when we know this is soooo delicious!

Amazing food, welcoming staff, wonderful food. From the starting bread to the Tiramisu and Italian Cream Cake (which we took home!) it was an amazing dinner. Chicken carbonara was full of rich flavor with the bacon and the Fat Tony's ziti and Italian sausage was on point with Cathy's Sugo!! The best red sauce ever. We will be coming back again and think this may become our favourite restaurant in OKC. Thank you for a wonderful meal and we look forward to seeing you again!

Best Italian we've had in the OKC metro! Very welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. It's hard not to fill up on the bread and garlic butter, but try not to! Cause the entrees are amazing too! Caesar is legit. Split the Chicken Carbonara and Meat Ravioli w/ meatballs. Both were SO GOOD! Both sauces are flavorful! Got a bottle of wine and the Amaretto Cake, and the night was perfect. Highly recommend! Small, so try to make reservations!

I would go again just for the lemon Italian cream cake, oh my goodness delicious!! One of the waiters was nice enough to give us a taste of it before, it wasn't on the menu and I'm so glad he suggested it! The dinner was also very lovely. The chicken parm was really great, the chicken was tender, moist and flavorful. My boyfriend had cioppino and said it was very good also. Bread and garlic olive oil was warm and amazing. We will most definitely be back!

This is such a cute little place; blink-and-you'll-miss it! I must have been blinking a lot, since I've managed to miss it all these years, but in some ways I'm glad I did. There's something amazing about finding such a little treasure, so close to our house, that is just so comforting and sweet. I'm not sure I could have appreciated it in the same way had I known about it sooner. Located inside a large strip shopping center off May Ave near Grand Boulevard, both the bustle of May Ave and the size of the strip center somehow make the interior of the restaurant seem even smaller; it is definitely diminutive in comparison to some of OKC's other Italian joints. Upon walking in, I truly had to adjust my eyes for a moment to allow them to adjust to such charm, without a hint of twee. To step off a super busy street and into a mom and pop Italian shop that could be located in Italy or any big city Little Italy, especially when you're not expecting it, is beyond charming. So, perhaps I've ruined that part for you? Sorry. Since it was a really cold night and Mr K was at home, I opted to take it to go. I had a glass of Cab Sav, and observed as the owners greeted over half the clientele by name. From what I saw, the service seemed impeccable and I look forward to dining in so I can enjoy it for myself. Back at the ranch, we shared the eggplant parmesan with pasta and veggies. Everything was cooked to perfection and oh-so-delicious. Mr K had a house salad and I had a caesar, which I loved, and I'm a picky caesar eater. We also had a small bowl of potato and veggie soup, as well as some of the fluffy, warm bread with garlic olive oil. There wasn't a bite left at the end of the night, but we were both very satisfied. I believe that is the intended result when sharing a meal! Thanks to the salads, the sides, the bread and the soup, it really was like two perfectly-proportioned meals. I am looking forward to trying more menu items, especially the appetizers. So there's probably more meal sharing in our future. I'm making myself so hungry thinking about last night's dinner now. Maybe we'll just go ahead and go on back...

Great neighborhood feel with great home recipe Italian restaurant. Good service and very friendly to all the customers. It was our family's time but staff knew many customers by the first name which is alway a good sign. We will be back very soon.

I really liked this place, but I decided on a special because they sounded good. Although I really don't have anything terrible to say about the place, it was a small and crowded on a Friday night. Some of the food was delicious, but other parts were average. The prices on the menu are fair for the good food although I didn't expect the specials to cost $35 a piece when they clearly were trying new things (wasn't that great). That price is what brought this down a star because it wasn't worth that. The bread and oil brought out was fantastic. The customer service was the best I've ever gotten from a restaurant. I'll definitely be going back, but with a more cautious approach to getting any expensive special. There was a guy singing too, which really set the mood. Everybody deserved a tip there.

Vito's last night was just incredible. It was like eating at a little neighborhood Italian joint where you expect homemade perfection. Highly recommend it and this one should making it into the month dining rotation.

Went to Vito's only because of the reviews on Yelp. We were visiting Oklahoma City and wanted a good meal, not fast food. Since we had our dogs with us at the hotel, we needed to get take out. Vito's was very close to the LaQuinta on Northwest Expressway, and it sounded like the kind of food we would enjoy. I found it, and was very impressed with the atmosphere. While waiting, I was pleased to meet the owner, Cathy. We had a nice visit. The food turned out to be excellent, the ravioli made 2 meals for me, and my husband really enjoyed the spaghetti dinner. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wishing for the homemade taste of real Italian food. And don't miss the chocolate cake, which is really more of a mousse with a little cake around it. It was heavenly, not too sweet, and as light as a feather! Thanks, Cathy, for your excellent sauce.

I am not an Italian food person at all - unless it is really good. I am an OKC native and whenever I get a chance to come visit Vito's is one place I like to come back to. The focaccia bread is so yummy and warm and tastes nice and fresh. I think the last time I came in I got a cheese tortellini and it was excellent as well. The owners are both really nice people and the service is great. If you want good Italian food in OKC you have to come here!

  • Lisa C.

The bread here is addictive. The veggies are not overcooked and the pasta is delish. I had a really good bowl of potato soup. Unfortunately, I choked on a caper and for the rest of the night I had an image of it lodged in my windpipe somewhere, just waiting to rattle loose and I might never wake up again if I fell asleep kinda irrational fear. So, I haven't been back yet. But when I do, it will be for a caper free dish. In my opinion, a lot better than Papa Dios.

JD and I went to Vito's for dinner last night, because we're ALWAYS in the area, but we've never tried it and I had a hankering for some pasta with red sauce. First off, I love the look of the place. Small, almost cramped, red and white picnic style table cloths, photos on the walls-- it felt a little like some of the places in Boston's North End. Also contributing to the mood was a not-too-awesome singer-- I mean, he wasn't bad, but he wasn't exactly someone I'd listen to for kicks-- which gave it just a hint of cheesiness. We were seated promptly and offered a wine list-- we declined, but it seemed like they had a fairly large variety for such a little spot. They quickly brought us menus, bread, and oil. The oil mix was spectacular-- a good quality olive oil as the base, with garlic and cheese seasoning it. They served it with a handy spoon so you could actually pour it onto your bread instead of dipping. I have to disagree with everyone else when it comes to the bread itself though-- it was pretty straight up bleh. Not good, only passable as a sauce vessel. And then our few issues started. Our only problems that night were with the service speed and memory. The staff was all totally nice and awesome, they were jsut a little slow and forgetful. It took awhile to get our orders taken-- we ordered calamari, to be brought out whenever it was ready, even if that meant it was coming out the same time as the food. We got ok cesaer salads while we waited, and before too long our main courses (linguine with their red sauce for me, and some chickeny dish for JD) were brought out. About halfway through the meal, I started wondering about that calamari. After I'd finished, but JD hadn't, I was able to get our waiter's attention and ask him that if the calamari order hadn't been put in, to please not do so, but that if it was already cooking, we'd still take it. He'd forgotten to put the order in. This was actually fine with us, because the portions were super generous for the price, and we were quite full. Additionally, he gave us a free slice of their chocolate cake to apologize. And.. well, I would normally not order chocolate cake. I don't like cake, I always claim. but this one? Is freaking awesome. The cake is 4 layers, two of actual cake, and two of a dense mouse/pudding hybrid. Too dense to really be mouse, too light and solid to really be pudding-- but it was so tasty, creamy and rich at the same time. And the cake portion itself wasn't shabby either! We did wait awhile for the check. JD pointed out to me that most people are not as in a hurry to leave a restaurant as I tend to be after the check, so in reality it probably wasn't all that long a wait. My only other issue, and its a stupid one, is that the tea they serve if you order tea is lipton's. So I killed it with lemon and made due.

Tonight was our first time there. Not sure how we have missed this place for so long! Very good food, decent prices, cozy atmosphere, fast/friendly staff. We will return soon. Note to parents: we have a 4 yr and a 17 mo old and went on a jam packed Friday night. Maybe only one other young child there. But the staff was fantastic to our boys. That's always a plus!

This was my second visit to Vito's. My cousin wanted to go, as his brother and family were in town and I was a little reluctant at first because my mother and I had visited once before and didn't remember it being very good. I guess we didn't order the right thing the first time. We had a reservation for a party of 8 for a Friday night, which was made at the last minute (6:20 for 8:30), but didn't have to wait too long for our table (we were seated by 8:45, and I was very pleased with that. We were offered wine, water, or other beverage while waiting for our table. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the Salmon, which was a special for the evening, and came with a tarragon ravioli - absolutely divine. Cathy, the owner, was busy running around helping the wait staff and interacting with the guests. I definitely look forward to visiting Vito's again! There were several things on the menu I am wanting to try.

Vito's is super awesome!!! Walking into the restaurant I fell in love with the low lighting and candles that were placed on every table. The staff was very welcoming from the beginning and graciously poured me my glass of wine that was clearly in excess of what most places would pour. The food was out of this world fresh and amazing. For starters, the focaccia bread was delightful and I enjoyed the fact that it had more of a garlic taste to it. The real treat for the evening was the spinach parmesan soup. I could have just had that for my whole meal. This is the best soup I've had hands down. Then the chicken marsala was so moist and tender that you could almost cut it with a spoon. It was the best I've ever had!!! Of course the tiramisu was amazing. I would recommend this place to the Pope. It was great!!!

I went here based on the other Yelp reviews and I have to say they were spot on. The restaurant was nothing much to look at... Dated decor in a non-descript strip mall. The menu was classic Italian, and not overloaded with choices, but not small either, although it felt a bit dated also. But the food was awesome. The roasted red pepper soup was the starter. Delicious and creamy, perfectly seasoned. I had the grilled salmon special, with a caprese balsamic reduction that was tremendous. My wife had a beef filet special that was also really good. The bread beforehand as mentioned here was great, with an oil mixture with garlic and Parmesan in it that I'm going to try to imitate at my next dinner party. I'm not from OK city but if I was this place would be in my regular rotation. Highly recommended.

Best in OKC. Not very hyped like some other places in town 'cause it's not a "be seen at" place. It is small and quaint and the staff makes you feel special. This is our annual New Year's Eve place. The owner passes out dollar bills for luck that night-family tradition. I get the Veal Parmesan regularly. They have wonderful bread and their Caesar salad is pretty tasty. This place us right on. Don't let the strip mall look fool ya!

This place has my top vote for Italian in OKC. I ordered the Chicken Marsala. My meal consisted of a moist and tasty chicken breast smothered in Marsala sauce, pasta with tomato sauce and crisp veggies. I loved everything except that my pasta was not al dente. I would have preferred to have my pasta nude (without sauce) though. I can specify that on my next visit!

The best. The food is supurb, Cathy, the owner, tries to welcome each guest. Shawn is a great waiter. What else can I say. I have been going ever since they opened and will continue to patronize them for their food and service. Authentic Itialian.

I lived in Pauls Valley when we first discovered Vito's, but after a first meal there, we were quite willing to drive that far to get incredibly good Italian food. The old-timey music playing, the lit candles on the tables, and the lovely owner who treats you like an old friend altogether made our visits unforgettable. Oh, and the food is incredible! :) They don't skimp on the portions and they serve you drinks from lovely stemware. For a comfortably intimate setting and absolute satisfaction, Vito's is the place!

Solid restaurant. Top notch service, great food and good prices, and Sean claimed to make the best Old Fashioned's in town and he was right. The portions are great as well so that you can actually finish your meal (for most people) and not have to pack any leftovers. I will definitely come back here. The bread and oil they serve are great as well. I finished off my meal with an espresso and it was great. The place is small and feels homely. The overall ambiance is great. I look forward to my next visit.

My husband and I went here for the first time tonight and we were wowed by both the service AND the food! To start, our waitress (I can't remember her name) was extremely friendly and knowledgable of the menu. She, along with other staff, made sure our glasses were constantly full and that everything was to our liking. I rarely see such 5-star service and we received it tonight. Everyone was pleasant and went over the top to make sure we had a good experience. I ordered the chicken parmesan, which was served with pasta and vegetables. The chicken was cooked perfectly and I liked that they had a side of vegetables, since many pasta dishes leave out the veggies. My husband had the spaghetti with italian sausage and he could not stop talking about how good the sauce was. I cannot forget the best part - the BREAD. It was delicious and served with garlic and olive oil. They gave us plenty too. We finished up with tiramisu for dessert, and it was so light and fluffy with decadent chocolate syrup drizzled on top - another unique touch that really tasted wonderful. Needless to say, we will be back!

Vito's has served some if the best Italian food in Oklahoma City for years now. My family and I have been coming in here for at least five years now and the quality has not faltered, even after dividing some of the space for the new bar! A favorite of ours is always the Fettuccini Alfredo, my parents like to add shrimp to theirs which are always cooked perfectly. I love the Ziti con Broccoli. Also the Lemoncello Martini is fantastic! Lastly I have to compliment the staff and owners that are always incredibly accommodating and friendly as can be! All and all, this is a fantastic Italian spot that I would recommend to anyone!

This was my first time here. My friend raves about it all the time. Once you walk in, you feel like a regular. The food is absolutely delicious, quick, fresh and the food was still hot by the time it got to the table. I had the chicken scaloppini and for dessert I had the creme brulee. I loved the food. The owner came by to check on everyone in the restaurant. She's absolutely amazing with such a warm, inviting aura. I loved this place and will be coming here again soon! Highly recommend!

Walked in an didn't have reservations but quickly accommodate within 5 min on a Friday night, may have just got lucky because this place was hopping! Great atmosphere, amazing customer service. The owner is such a sweetheart. I'm not a huge Italian fan because I try to steer clear from a lot of pasta so I opted for the soup, chicken and garbanzo bean. Yum! My husband had the chicken spadini which was really good! He LOVED bread and garlic oil dipping sauce. We also ordered the mushroom cap with spinach artichoke and sun dried tomatoes. Highly recommended. Only thing I would suggest for this place is adding some healthier menu options or expanding the salad menu. We will be going back!

Vito's is truly one of the gems of OKC. Much of this is due to Cathy, the owner, who deeply loves her restaurant and exudes hospitality and a warm welcome to everyone who comes in the door. The small, intimate dining room adds to the feeling that you are right at home. ' The Grilled Portobello Mushroom appetizer is dynamite (and vegan!)! My friend had the special that night which was the Beef Filet, and of course I had to snitch. Everything was excellent, along with his sides. And while my entree was very good, the Chicken Spedini, it came with a pasta side with tomato sauce and a side of broccoli that I didn't get too crazy about. It lacked the pizzazz I was hoping for being paired with the chicken. Perhaps I would request meat sauce or alfredo next time. The wine list was very good, and the bread before the meal was WONDERFUL too, including the olive oil/parmesan/garlic dip. Oh my! Save room for dessert. Both the tiramisu and creme brulee are creamy and delicious. I can't wait to go back and try more. If Cathy pours as much love into the whole menu as what I had, this might just be my new favorite restaurant in OKC! (And I bet she does!)

Well the service was great! Very friendly and personable. Although the portion sizes were extremely small (maybe because i ordered to go?) For the $$ the food was tasty! The caesar salad was great but i ordered house! So as far as taste 4 stars but i was by no means full nor satisfied!

I had such a great experience at Vito's. Hands down the most friendly staff I have encountered in Oklahoma City! Not to mention the calamari was cooked perfectly! They are so good about suggestions and tweaking your order to fit your tastebuds perfectly! I will definitely be back.

Ever since I heard those atrocious commercials on the radio, I simply assumed Vito's was a terrible place. And I still miss my Trattoria Il Centro more than I can possibly say. However, after our first attempt at Italian failed miserably, I was more than willing to give them a shot. I was perhaps a bit tentative at first, but fortunately they delivered a great meal for us. Service was excellent. As luck would have it, there was apparently some kind of wine tasting at a spot across the street, and the folks coming from over there had really enjoyed their libations. They became our best friends (as far as they knew), and it was actually quite astonishing how loud they were after such a short time in the restaurant. That's when I first realized we were in good hands, because the staff quickly got them seated and fed and were very patient ... and seated us right after in our own little alcove, far away from our excessively inebriated predecessors.* Our clam-in-cream appetizer tasted great, and since unlike a certain putatively Italian spot we'd frequented earlier, they serve actual fresh bread, we got to sop up most of the cream sauce while we hunted for the few remaining clams. We split a couple dinners between the five of us, chicken spiedini and cioppino. The spiedini was the best dish of the night, crunchy, well-cooked and featuring what had to have been at least 17 sticks of butter. (Totally worth it and totally appropriate considering the dish). The cioppino was a little odd because the stew broth didn't have enough tomato, and they compensated for it by throwing in a lot of tomato in the mussel shells themselves. It didn't quite work as cioppino, but I'm perfectly okay with things that taste good even if they're slightly misnamed. We devoured all that plus a couple bottles of wine and enjoyed a coda to a bizarre, fun evening. Vito's has a lot going for it; rustic Italian and super-friendly service means unless you're in the market for super-fancy Italian, you should leave happy. * Good a time as any to point out that I'm completely in favor of excessive inebriation as long as I get to participate. They were just too far ahead for me to ever catch up.

Vito's has excellent staff! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating that you couldn't help but feel welcome. We made reservations, but arrived early and they were still able to accommodate us. They served us bread while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. That bread was AWESOME. We were gluttonous and asked for a second helping, but it was all worth it. For my meal, I had the chicken scaloppine, which was okay. The chicken was a little dry, but I'm not much of a chicken person to begin with so it might have been just me. Overall experience was great, so I would definitely recommend it!

Vito's is my go to restaurant for date nights or if I just want a good meal. Their dishes with Mediterranean mussels are on par with anything you'd find in Sicily! The staff is so friendly, well trained and professional. The owner, Cathy, obviously cares about her business and it shows in her food, and her always there smile! You must eat here!

We went to Vito's tonight and were extremely disappointed. We were a group of six out to enjoy an Italian dinner. I ordered chicken marsala. It did not have a mushroom wine sauce. Instead it had Alfredo sauce on it. Much too rich. It was served with broccoli. Instead of broccoli florets as I expected it was clearly frozen chopped broccoli that had been slightly steamed - still crunchy and tasteless. The sauce served on the pasta tasted like Ragu. I could not eat much of my dinner because it was so bad. One of our friends had salmon which came out overcooked. When we tried to get our water's attention to ask for something he said very loudly "WHAT?!!". It was extremely rude. Requests for drink refills were ignored. The waiter added a tip to our bill - good thing because I would have given a much less generous tip.The restaurant was only one third full on a Saturday night. Now I know why. Don't waste your money here. There are many restaurants in OKC with better food and service.

Best Italian in OKC. Good food, right size portions, attentive service! Reminds me of an NYC eatery right here in OKC. Small, intimate, well done and Cathy will be there meeting, greeting and hugging just about everyone! You'll do no better than Vito's in OKC!

It is very rare that I give a restarant five stars - but this is one. Absolute superb food and service. The only negative is that it is located in a strip mall. Yet, once you enter, the warmth of the service, the individual attention and the obvious owner pride are highly evident. The waitstaff is attentive without that "hovering" feeling some places have and if it is busy, the owner comes over to help with drinks, water refill, etc. TVito's reminds me of small Italian neighborhood restaurants in New York, Chicago, Boston, etc. Small, intimate, owners on site and superb food (the foccicia is to die for). Make a reservation and enjoy the best Italian I have had in years and it compares very well to places costing 2-3 times. Enjoy!

I've been looking for a good Italian restaurant in OKC for 7 years & I finally found one. I had gnocchi in a pesto sauce, a caprese salad & the best tiramisu I have ever had. The staff was friendly & it was a quaint place perfect for a date night. If we didn't live 30 minutes away we would be regulars. We can't wait to go back.

I recommend this restaurant to anyone our experience is always fantastic. Cathy is extremely nice and she greets you as you walk in and the staff is great as well. I ordered the Fat Tony Special and it was great it was very well seasoned. I wasn't a fan of the bread but that doesn't matter when you get awesome service and food. This place is a gem!

Vito's has been a family favorite for years! The food and service are always wonderful and Cathy just makes you feel so welcome every time you walk in the door! I highly recommend Vito's to anyone and everyone!

Amazing food friendly service! Hands down some of the best food I've ever had!!

Top notch quality in service and the food was great. Cathy was very friendly and welcoming. I came with a bunch of other people that were helping out at a volunteer organization a while back. I will never forget the hospitality and experience she provided. You will not be disappointed. If I ever do get a chance to go back to OKC, I'm definitely coming back here. Please do stop by here, you won't be disappointed.

I had such a great experience at Vito's. Hands down the most friendly staff I have encountered in Oklahoma City! Not to mention the calamari was cooked perfectly! They are so good about suggestions and tweaking your order to fit your tastebuds perfectly! I will definitely be back.

Vito's is the best Italian in the city. I work for a competing ma and pa Italian joint and have for 6 years, Vito's is just better. The shrimp spedini and chicken carbonara are incredible and so is the amaretto cheesecake. Practically perfect in every way.

Vito's was fantastic. When we got to the restaurant, Cathy greeted us like she has always known us. The wait staff was great. Rachael was great and made us feel very welcome. We started with calamari and the red sauce was great with just a hint of sweetness. The bread was very moist and tasty. My wife and I both had the cheese ravioli with the Cathy Sugo red sauce. We will make this a regular stop for us. We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant also!

I would give Vito's a solid 3.5 stars. I'm not so positive why this joint has rave reviews. I ordered the Ravioloi with "Cathy's Sugo". The Ravioli filling was less than average, but the actual pasta was decent and well cooked. It's not really "al dente" if your looking for authentic Italian. Cathy's Sugo was what actually made the dish worse. It's a red sauce and it taste like it was straight out of a can.. My date had the Ziti com Broccoli which was better. I actually scraped off the Cathy's Sugo from my ravioli and added some of the cream sauce from the Ziti. It made it 10 times better. Wine selection is VERY limited. Price was average for what you get, portions aren't huge which is fine with me. I definitely think there are better options in the metro if you are craving Italian or American-Italian.

LOVE, LOVE LOVE the food! Kathy, the owner, is amazing and aims to please her customers. The atmosphere is very nice and they have live music sometimes. I usually get chicken alfredo and it is amazing. I'm so glad we found this restaurant.

We don't tend to get Italian often, primarily because the main staples of Italian cuisine (breads / pastas / cheeses) tend to be the polar opposites of my diet staples (air / water / tasteless leaves). So when we finally decide to treat ourselves to the gluttony that is Italian cuisine, I expect it to be damn good - so you can imagine my excitement when we decided to give Vito's Ristorante a try (after all, anyone that misspells "restaurant" and gets away with it has to be good, right?). Now imagine that excitement turning into pure confusion when we arrived to Vito's... Irish... Pub??? What the hell is this? A cruel joke?! Sure, Irish pub food is great and all (10 beers deep), but I'm craving Italian food, and now! Funny story you see: turns out Vito's and Sean Cummings' Irish Pub share an entryway, and decided it would be hilarious to space their storefront names juuust close enough together to make a hangry (hungry+angry) Italian-food deprived lunatic like myself, almost lose his cool - almost. Crisis averted, thankfully. Vito's is very - dare I say "cute" - on the inside. It's cozy and intimate and it was fairly quiet, though we went on a weeknight, so I'm sure that wouldn't necessarily be the case on a busy weekend for this place, I'd imagine it tends to fill up rather quickly. We were immediately greeted by the owner, the lovely Cathy Cummings... wait a minute... Cummings? Where have I heard that name before? Oooooh, now you see, it all starts to make sense - the reason that Vito's and Sean Cummings share an entryway........ is clearly because the strip mall organizes all shops alphabetically by tenant's last name, and by some freak coincidence these two restaurant owners share the same last name. GOSH! WHAT A RELIEF! That one was gonna bug me. Ok, where was I? Ah yes, Cathy Cummings (clearly not related to Sean Cummings) - well she's lovely. She was holding - what appeared to me, to be - the world's tiniest baby in her arms, and smiling from ear to ear. She greeted us, showed off the tiny baby and explained to us that it was one of her customers' babies. No, this doesn't have anything to do with the food, but the main concept behind Vito's is that it's all about family. Restaurants have always been in Cathy's family and apparently the recipes have been passed down from generation to generation, so their main goal is to make you feel like part of the family when you come to eat at Vito's. In this day and age, it's nice to see that this isn't some marketing gimmick - Vito's actually cares about the customer experience and puts a lot of love into the food they create. Hell they might even babysit if you ask really nicely. Just kidding, I think. And let's not forget the whole reason for heading to Vito's in the first place: the food. To start off we had diet killer number one: bread, and lots of it. It's amazing to me how something as simple as bread and olive oil can be so irresistible. Follow that with caesar salad and diet killers 2 & 3: pasta and cheese. We ordered some of the specials for the evening: a grilled salmon fillet with cheese tortellini in a tomato-cream sauce with sauteed spinach - oh and don't forget the extra freshly-grated parmesan over the top (bonus diet-killer points). The salmon was great, especially with the cream sauce and what I want to say was a slightly sweet balsamic reduction over the top, and tiny caviar, an unexpected surprise. The spinach was great too, garlicky and tender. The tortellini was absolutely heavenly. These tortellini absolutely melt in your mouth - which makes me think they were handmade - If they weren't, I'd be surprised. Very good. The other special was a linguine topped with sauteed spinach, sun dried tomatoes, grilled portobellos and a garlic olive oil sauce. The dish was great, and beautiful. Those portobellos were cooked to perfection - tender and almost meaty. Needless to say, we were happy with everything we tried. Good food, good atmosphere, good company. Sounds to me like Vito's is a keeper. Overall Grade: A-

Enjoy!

The food was absolutely delicious and a little pricey but worth it. We had a wait longer than normal for our check but our waitress was new so it's understandable. I highly suggest trying this local restaurant!

I have recently been trying Italian restaurants in the OKC metro and Vito's was a very nice surprise! The unusual aspect of this restaurant is that it is half of a unit in a strip mall. The other half is an Irish Pub. My wife and I went on a weekday, so traffic was light, but I could see how it may be odd expecting fine dining and walking through the same main door as a pub, but please do yourself a favor and do not let that turn you away! Once inside, the dining room is quite and the lighting is intimate. It feels like a family-run restaurant with the wait staff and the owner making the rounds and being enthusiastic about the food and making you feel comfortable. All that said, I thought the prices on the menu seemed high for a resturaunt that wasn't incredibly fancy...however the prices made perfect sense when the food arrived! The food is great! The bread that was brought to the table surprised me quite a bit. The crumb is fine and it felt like I was about to bite into a loaf of american white bread...but the seasoning is delicious and the bread tasted incredible. There is a good garlic dipping sauce as well. For my main course, I had the Fat Joey's Pasta Special with one meatball and one Italian sausage. I think the meatball and sausage are the BEST I have EVER had. Perfect seasoning and texture. Additionally the sauce is AMAZING and tasted of fresh tomatoes and basil. Absolutely a wonderful meal with generous portions! Finally, the desert selections were very good. I had the cream cake, my wife had the Chocolate Cake and my Mother-In-Law had the taramisu. All three were great...especially the taramisu! I will definately be going back to try some more dishes...if I can ever get myself to NOT order those meatballs and sausage!

Vito's was great. I tried to call and make a reservation but the phone connection was terrible. The owner called ME back and apologized for the bad connection and took our reservation. I am glad she did. The Food, Service and atmosphere was terrific. the sauce covering the rib-eye was to die for. Will definitely go back and recommend it to my friends at the FAA Academy.

This place is a great place for Italian and the main reason is simply the best customer service I have seen in ages. I've heard of places where the owner/chef comes to the table and asks how everything is but this place it actually happens, and not because you're a friend of the family. The owner came around and just did everything possible to make our dinner a great experience. We talked Italian cooking, we talked about Yelp, l we talked about something else too, can't remember. The food was great. Straight up Italian, lots of choices and everything is NOT drenched in red sauce and cheese. If you are into that its there too. You shouldn't be going to Olive Crapden anyhow so go here because its great.

Some of the best, authentic Italian in OKC. And with the friendliest ownership and staff. We don't get to eat here enough.

Perfect-o! Manga!!

This is definitely on of those places that rival Italian mom's cooking. Everything I have ever eaten is amazing! The owner is always there and makes it special for all of her guests. Truly a must for anyone.

Amazing food friendly service! Hands down some of the best food I've ever had!!

I love this place. A real local restaurant where the owner is actually there all the time. Cathy is one of the most authentic and personable people I have ever met. Bonus the food is fresh and a great value

Enjoy!

The food was absolutely delicious and a little pricey but worth it. We had a wait longer than normal for our check but our waitress was new so it's understandable. I highly suggest trying this local restaurant!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
