Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

A hole-in-the-wall Mexican place popular among the locals. Busy but good, and attentive server (but, see note below). I've tried a kabob dish recommended by a friend that was excellent although not very Mexican. Their fish tacos are tasty, too, however they use catfish and there is no cabbage on them. I love their relish, which is not very hot but has great flavor, a little different than most standard relish. On my last visit, the salsa was bland but we asked for a hotter variety and they brought a dish of warm salsa that was very spicy! It was great. Sopapillas were fresh, warm and delicious. Very casual place, lots of families, noisy kids, but an enjoyable atmosphere. HAZARDS: First, a server set a fajita skillet on a nearby table within reach of a toddler, who immediately touched it and was crying so much her mom left with her and never came back in. Sad. The rest of the family eventually got their food to go and all left. Then, since we parked behind, we tried to leave via the glass back door (same way we had entered) but the door had been locked. As this was a door marked as an EXIT, so this is a real danger and illegal. For this reason, it only gets 2 stars, 3.

Best Mexican food in Oklahoma City! Try the special salsa - warning it's spicy! Parillada is an excellent choice and you can't go wrong with their taco salads, chile rellanos or fajitas! Their tecate in a cold schooner with salt and lime is awesome! Try the sopapillas!

I have been there at times for birthdays and other stuff but I get fajitas and tacos. The tacos/ I'm use to it being fried or toasted but all they did was just get 2 pieces of it and I got carne asada Fajitas: are like any other fajitas they are very good Beans and rice/ are SOO AMAZING HOWEVER it is pretty expensive now for foods and drinks

Awesome place! Great food and service! Ask for the hot salsa to go with chips. Excellent flavor and not overly spicy. Really love this place!

Great Mexican Food. The best in OKC!!! Great Guisado Entomatado!! Their hot sauce and salsa especial are fresh and some of the best I have ever eaten. I have tried many different dishes and they are all wonderful. The service is very quick and friendly. This is a family owned and operated business that really cares about their customers. Very friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming. My favorite place to eat in OKC!!!

If you've been to one San Marcos location..... You've been to all. Same large grandiose menu, same ol' tortillas, same queso and same salsa. I don't like the tortillas or queso at all, but I think the salsa has grown on me. If I had to compare San Marcos to other restaurants in the city.... I'd say they are in between Abel's and Ted's. It's slightly more authentic than your average Tex Mex joint. I like that they serve Micheladas. This past lunch experience was not that great though... I've tried to explore the menu each time I visit. Everything I've ordered thus far does not strike me as fantastic. BUT you are talking to a person who only likes a couple dishes off a Mexican restaurant menu. Take my review for what it is.... This time around, I ordered flautas ala cart. I didn't feel like eating the rice and beans. I've had flour tortilla flautas before, which is what I was expecting, but I forget that not every restaurant makes the same taquito, rolled taco, flauta. They were good, don't get me wrong. Just not great! Simply put, they were as A-OK as can be. Crispy shell, lightly filled though I was secretly wishing for more filling and flavor. The kicker was that they charged me for the Flauta's platter :( I'm not one to complain, but man. That sucked.

My first time in today for dinner. Great food items we both had. Just right service also. Maybe best Mex restaurant I have been for some time. Lots of fresh grilled jalapenos...as requested. Thanks folks. I shall return.

Finally a real Mexican food place I can eat that has good chips, salsa, queso and jalapenos. Of course there are some reviews on here that give it two stars yet they continue to come back or two stars because of a locked door and fajita skillet on another table being too close to a toddler?? Seriously...I went here for the food not to play nanny. I can take care of my kids I don't need others help. Highly recommend this place as its locally owned, doesn't serve that jank powdered queso like Teds (I'm not sure where free became synonymous with good) and offers up authentic dishes with a hint of TexMex.

One of my favorite tex mex restaurants (for the money). The spicy salsa is always good & never the same twice. Very friendly & great staff!
