5 stars for yumminess. 1 star for atmosphere. 700 club is always on in the morning. I don't need to be angry before my day has even started. Please take politics and religion out of my food experience!

For this specific outpost of Old School Bagel Cafe, this neighborhood establishments finds itself in a very inconvenient location. In a strip mall, I thought it was a little further away from the city limits than I would have liked--certainly not a easy "drop-in" on the way into the business sector. A thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was not actually a namesake bagel. The bagel was actually quite good. Here comes the bomb: my bagel was $1.50. BUT the online menu and in-store menu clearly state $0.99 for a single bagel. It's not about the 50 cents, but it's the principle of up-charging. Yes, this is more of a random rant. So, the jalapeno cheddar was not bad, but perhaps if you are buying a dozen, and everything is upcharged by ~40%, you will be looking at spending somewhere in the range of $18 a dozen, not $13. Now, those 5 extra bucks could have gotten you 5 free bagels. Hm.... HMMMM? I do think that OSBC is doing a great thing for the community, providing local bagels and all. Let's just provide some consistency on pricing. Great vibe, though. I give a 3 because I enjoy local bagels.

After the nasty taste left in my mouth by paying $7.00 for a roast beef sandwich on wheat bread, I eagerly awaited what OSBC could possibly do to this sandwich to justify the price. Much to my dismay, in addition to the completely standard lettuce and mustard, the roast beef was gelatinous and tomatoes mushy. To top it off, the staff was unfriendly and pushy. Bagels are just ok, Panera beats this place by MILES

I'm originally from NY and have been transplanted out to OKC recently. Up until discovering this place I was forced to get and eat bagels from Panera. While they do make great sandwiches and some soups, they are not the ideal bakery. Of course that is coming from someone who had grown up having a real bakery down the street and was able to have legit bagels, rolls, breads, and pastries. I was skeptical at first but after trying a breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg, and cheese) on an everything bagel, I was convinced it was going to be "as good as it gets," in OKC at least... So much so that I ordered another to go and some additional bagels for the next morning. They were light and airy and tasted great. Unlike many other places bagels that are heavy and gummy. The service was great and they made my orders very fast. People were freindly, decor was nice and modern, coffee was great (as was a smoothie that someone else in my party ordered). Overall, a great place in OKC to get as close to genuine a bagel as you would in the NY area. I will definitely be back and look forward to trying other things off the menu.

Top notch authentic boiled bagels. I have had bagels on both coasts, and always try to find a bagel place for breakfast regardless of the city I am in, and this place stands shoulder to shoulder with the best. They serve real bagels (not bread bagels). They also make great bagel breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches. They will do anything you want to your bagel. Some New York shops won't toast their bagels. What is that? If you are visiting OKC and want a great bagel come here. If you think the big apple is the only place to get a bagel, then you have not tried Old School.

So amazing crazy good. Their breakfast bagel is heaven. Have NEVER tasted a bagel as good as theirs. Ham egg and cheese on a honey wheat bagel, toasted with butter, is sinful it is so good. I mean really, really good. Only complaint is that they should make the patio no smoking. It is miserable to walk through smoke to enter the restaurant, plus not be able to sit outside because of the stink.

Well, I have to admit it... I'm really lucky they're near me. Their service has been quicker and they offered me condiments for my lox and cream cheese bagel. It was soooo good this morning that I couldn't save 1/2 for lunch. Oh, the guilt, but oh the deliciousness... I would drive across the city to eat here. I heart them.
(4)Erik S.
A nice spot with decent food but it's nothing amazing. They have a pretty standard variety of bagels with above average options for stuff on the bagels. I know their website says that they boil their bagels, but it doesn't really taste like it. They're still fairly fluffy. They taste pretty good though. I had an egg and bacon bagel and a cream cheese bagel. Both were good.
(4)James H.
I love Old School Bagel Cafe with every fiber of my being. Absolutely delicious, great service. I highly recommend the breakfast bagel along with a Chai Tea Latte. Among the best of OKC, be sure to check it out.
(5)Keeli S.
An authentic bagel cafe with creative sandwiches! A great, busy lunch place! h
(5)Sean O.
This place is always great. I'll drive out of my way to eat here.
(4)Craig F.
The "NY style" refers more to a defunct chain than NYC. That being said, they have the best bagels in town. Muffins are baked daily and are delicious. Staff is always friendly and owners are usually there fixing bagels. The crowds can really pack out on the weekend and weekday lunch as well. I love the breakfast bagels in the morning. So much so that I have received my order before I could get my change at the register. I eat there about four times a week, which makes my wife jealous because she works across town and has to wait till the weekend for her bagel. They just opened a new one at Covell & Kelly
(5)Brian B.
Their bagels are fairly decent, IF YOU CAN GET THEM! They constantly run out of multiple flavors of bagels way earlier than they should. Running out of cinnamon raisin bagels at 10:30 in the morning is absolutely ridiculous and should not be acceptable. Not even going to try to go back anymore when every time I do, I get shot down because they can't figure out how to make enough bagels to last through the day.

We ate here for breakfast this morning. I had a breakfast bagel and Thomas had lox and cream cheese. Both were very tasty. The total meal came to $12. The coffee was great and so was the iced tea. It was pretty crouded and I assume that lunch on weekdays would be very busy there. There are tons of choices for sandwiches and the bagels were delicious and fresh. The employees were very nice and they gave good service. Overall a very good place to eat.

This is the second time I have been to this particular Old School location and it is the second time they have messed up my order. The first time they messed up my sandwich it wasn't a big deal because the only mistake was using regular cream cheese instead of veggie cream cheese. I did not complain about this. It wouldn't have been a big deal this second time either but I was charged for the guacamole I asked for and it wasn't even on my sandwich. Of course I didn't even notice until I was 15 minutes away. It looks like I won't be returning to this location because they are 0/2 on getting my order right. If I have a craving for a veggie sandwich on an everything bagel, I will have to wait until I'm in Norman so I can go to the location that has NEVER messed up my order.
(2)Zachary S.
Definitely one of the best places to grab breakfast and a good cup of coffee! The staff there are very outgoing and hospitable. Go try it out! You won't regret it.

Ever since my friend introduced me to the Old School Bagel Cafe, I have been coming back 1-2 times every week for my weekly bagel. I haven't tried their sandwiches or salads, but you can't go wrong with the bagels and the variety of cream cheese they have. My favorite of all time is the asiago and honey almond cream cheese. Today, I wanted to be spontaneous and I attempted to try the honey oat and bacon chive & onion cream cheese because it's a popular bagel and cream cheese flavor. Unfortunately, it wasn't right for my taste buds. I asked the lady if I could get another bagel because I didn't like the one I ordered and she changed my order, no questions asked, and no complications. I have an appreciation for good food and a much greater appreciation for excellent service and this is no doubt an exceptional service. I will be coming back to the Old School Bagel Cafe for as long as I'm alive because I love their bagels and service. I will tell all my friends and bring my husband here as well because we both love bagels! Another note I want to add is that the cafe has free wifi so you can come with your laptop to study, and enjoy delicious bagels.

For those that are both directionally challenged and hate searching (like me), this place is located in a big strip mall with a huge parking lot. What a great place to get some breakfast with a cup of coffee. They have both sweet and savory bagels with loads of toppings you can put on them. Breakfast bagels will cost you anywhere from $2 - $4+, depending how bougie you're feeling that day, and their lunch menu looks full-up with tons of sandwich options. I had the firecracker jalapeno bagel for breakfast. I'm pretty sure some stuff is already pre-made, like the eggs on the bagels, but they get food out fast. Cheese wasn't quite melted, but everything was flavorful. I felt too embarrassed to ask if they could microwave my bagel since that probably looks kinda trashy, but a few seconds in the nuker would have made it pretty perfect! Coffee was mild and buttery, and the two items were $6.04. Staff was very nice as well. (I always commend people that work in the morning service industry as I can't imagine being that nice to so many people that early...) Not quite somewhere I'd drive a long haul for when looking for some breakfast, but if you are nearby, I highly recommend stopping by for a satisfying meal.
(4)Thomas M.
Great bagels. Water boiled like NYC. I had the Chicken Parm w/Pesto bagel sandwich. Pesto had good flavor & bagel was fresh. Chicken was good, but somehow I expected breaded chicken for Chicken Parm, but it was still great. Worth a stop.
(5)Brian R.
Bagels are great, best in town. Espresso is average.
(4)Randy S.
The bagels are really good, and they have several different kinds. Their bagel sandwiches are great. I have had the lox for breakfast a couple of times; once with the capers and onions and once without; I prefer it with everything. It was great both times. I have also had the chicken salad sandwich a couple of times too, and it is really good. The only other sandwich item I have had is the vegetarian sandwich and it has loads of veggies on it, and it is good. I usually get the everything bagel, but I have had the cinnamon raisin, blueberry, and jalapeño bagels and they are all consistently good. I prefer them toasted.
(4)Collin F.
Quality place. Highly recommend the Firecracker!! Great prices and friendly staff. It's one of the best places in Oklahoma City.
(5)Andrea M.
We eat here fairly regularly on the weekends. We always enjoy our food and the coffee is always good. The kids like the casual feel (one table is a sofa and coffee table) and the fish tank. If you are looking for a quick lunch or breakfast, this is a good choice.
(4)Kayla C.
Usually I'm a fan of this chain, but the Asiago is the only bagel I get here. I get it for breakfast with cream cheese and for lunch as my sandwich bread. Today I drove over here just to pick up a few Asiago bagels and get a sandwich and Asiago bagels were the only ones unavailable. They said the wait would be close to 20 min, so I just left. I understand that things run out at busy times, but they should have been more prepared and had more baking before they ran out. I'm still a fan, just disappointed with this visit.
(3)Kim N.
I love how this place isn't skimpy on the cream cheese!! The bagels are far more delicious than a local chain known for bagels. These bagels really do remind me of the ones I've had in NYC. They're fresh and chewy. Today, I ordered the lox and cream cheese bagel, and it's piled high with lox and cream cheese. Totally worth the $6. My husband always gets the breakfast croissant with sausage. Service is fast and friendly. I sometimes get the bakers dozen and cream cheese for my coworkers... Makes me very popular for the day and it's certainly a nice change of pace from typical work donuts!
(5)Rebecca H.
I'm from New York where bagels are plentiful, and I'm so glad Oklahoma has such an amazing store like this! The bagels are so so good, I'm such a fan :) thank you for bringing a taste of home to okc! Customer service is the best too... you wont be disappointed!
(5)Kelly S.
I'm a big fan of this local bagel shop. They have every bagel sandwich you can imagine from breakfast to lunch. My favorite is the lox with everything: red onion, capers and tomato. There's a wasabi bomb version of it with wasabi cream cheese and cucumber for the adventurous types. Yes, they use microwaves, and I don't care one bit. They will get very busy on weekends, especially after church, so get there early if you're dining in. This is a no frills, easy and delicious meal that hits the spot every time.
(5)P R.
Old School Bagel Cafe is more than just the best bagel in OKC, it's a great bagel compared to great bagels everywhere. Quality is alway first rate! It's a Bagel Oasis. Service feels a lot like Goldstein's in LA -- young, trendy counter help that seems forever focused on something other than customers. It's not enough to make you avoid Old School Bagel Cafe, but it's annoying to repeat your order because they just were not listening first time around. They're nice -- just kinda distracted.
(4)Vanessa S.
I really like the atmosphere, the staff is always friendly and food is always delicious, it's just a little pricey!
(4)Brad Z.
Nom, nom, nom, what a tasty breakfast spot! This place cannot be beat if you would like to get some delicious bagels and coffee! I recently dropped by after a Sunday morning ride, and had a breakfast bagel that was delicious, and perfect for a little post workout recovery meal! I enjoyed the sausage breakfast bagel and plan on frequenting this location more than a few times in the not so distant future! They have a great selection of bagels, and a nice variety of different types of cream cheese, for whatever tempts your taste buds. The service was quick and friendly, and the place was clean and tidy. The only minor complaint that I could come up with was that there was a lack of bagels by the time I got there, but that was more my fault than there's since it was around 11:00am. If you get cream cheese on your bagel, be ready, because they don't mess around with skimpy servings of it. Both my wife and my friend had a bounty of it left over by the time they finished their bagels, so you might want to speak up if you'd like to keep light! I have not had lunch here yet, but I am looking forward to that as well, because I have heard that it is great. I can't wait to go back, and suggest Old School Bagel Cafe to anyone looking for some tastiness that has to do with bagels!

WOW and WhooHoo! GREAT Mom n pop (ok, it is two dudes) but these guys are in there every day making the REAL DEAL bagels. If you think Einstains or Bagel Brothers or whatever is good, you are a dope. Those are NOT bagels but baked donuts. You want real bagel - go here, order a salt bagel (the TRUEST TEST of bagelry) and you will be amazed that all this goodness can be gotten out of a dollar hunk of boiled and baked dough. SOOO good, makes me want to sue the other places for flase advertising. And Panera bagels suck too...
(4)Anna F.
Old School Bagel is perfect for both breakfast and lunch. I am pretty bagel obsessed and there are soooo many choices here! I like all of their flavored cream cheeses as well. I enjoy the lunch bagels very much but they really glop on the cream cheese. I usually scrape some of it off to feel slightly better about eating it... but it's so yummy! I tend to just eat half of the bagel and save the other half for later because they're so big. Great spot and also cheap!
(4)Robin E.
It smells soooooo good the minute you open the door! You know you are at the right place! The bagels here are the real deal! Plain, sesame, cinnamon raison, everything, cranberry orange walnut, jalapeño cheddar...they are all good! There are no real favorites! The muffins are just as good as the bagels! Try lox and cream cheese with that bagel. You'll be happy! They don't skimp on cream cheese so if you want a small schmear, ask for light on the cream cheese. They know what they are doing!
(5)Helen C.
One of my favorite places for lunch - Note: only open for lunch. Several vegetarian selections; my favs: egg salad on Jalapeño bagel or hot egg and cheese on Asiago bagel. Tried a sample of the cold spinach salad (not a fan), so I always stick with one of these 2. If you get the egg salad. It comes with a crisp, tasty pickle - the egg/cheese does not. Prices are great - me and the hubby generally dine for $15. If you like muffins, the blue-berry and (surprisingly) the butterscotch muffins are fantastic! For the meat lovers, hubby recommends the "ole smokey" or tuna salad on Everything bagel. It's located in a strip mall on May and Hefner, next to the laser tag place, but the inside decor/ambiance is perfect for the shop. They'll have college football on the TV during the fall months, for those worries about missing the game. Great food, great service, great prices and locally-owned - Check it out!

Awesome environment inside and calm Friday morning. We sat outside and enjoyed the friendly smiles and nice weather. I ordered the breakfast croissant and it was extremely airy and flakey with great flavor. My wife ordered a French toast bagel, toasted, with cream cheese. This was a great experience and I will be back to try out their Cuban sandwich.
(5)Jere L.
Pretty good bagel place! Only had the Breakfast Bagel but will definitely go back and try a sandwich next time. The staff was fast and efficient. They also carry tasty muffins and delicious cookies. All in all a great place for a super quick bit to eat.
(4)K M.
Bagels are delicious and never disappoint or skimp on the cream cheese! These are a great treat on any weekend which seems to be prime time. The owner is at the store on Saturday mornings and is super friendly and knows people by name. I haven't had a bad bagel yet and I recommend trying some of their specialty cream cheeses, like the honey almond.
(4)Matthew G.
They have a large selection of flavored bagel sand cream cheeses. They also offer a variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches; served on your choice of bagel or bread. The sausage breakfast bagel is my standard choice and the Old Smokey is a staple lunch choice. Lunch sandwiches come with a dill pickle spear. They also offer several different flavors of muffins and even cinnamon rolls. Get there early if you want jalapeño bagel, they always seem to go first. The line can be long at times but it moves fast. They have expanded their lunch menu with salads: Boston, Chef, Asian, and Cobb. They have also added bread based sandwiches that include and Asiago Chicken Caesar, Chicken Bruschetta, Turkey and guacamole, and Wasabi Bomb.
(5)Scott P.
I've been eating these bagels since they were New York Bagels un Stillwater. They are the best!
(5)Samantha G.
Can't beat an Old Smokey or a Pizza Bagel! Just like the good old days but even better! You can also get it "scooped" which leaves you half the carbs of what an entire bagel has and you aren't as full afterwards. However, you will have a thought of ordering another one because it is just that good!
