Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Nice place. Relaxed atmosphere, nice for a lunch date with family. The food is good, filling, and served steaming hot!

We've been regulars at Lupe's since 1995 and even back into the nineties and Lupe has consistently prepared excellent food. As a matter of fact, in Dec 2013 we purchased 14 shredded beef burritos and everyone loved them and the salsa! However, Lupe (Mary as the new owner tod me) sold out and the new owner isn't quite the personality Mary was and the food flavor has deteriorated and we were pretty disappointed overall. We're going to try them again and see if there is an improvement. I spoke with the new owner and said it didn't taste as it did and she said, "we're using the same recipes." Time will tell if the food improves....

Ok, first the good, it wasnt crowded on The saturday afternoon when we went two weeks ago. We ordered our food (after waiting 10 minutes to be served). And seriously less than five min later, our food came out. Now the bad, the food was so fast because it was all precooked and thrown in a microwave. It was tasteless and dare i say some of the worst mexican food i have had in wiite some time. The owner should be embarrassed to serve that food. No matter, we wont be going again.

WORST restaurant ever. $30 for 2 1/2 eaten chimichangas. Service sucked worse than the food. Drive on by......not worth it.

Lupes is a great little restuarant. I usually always go with my parents and the place is friendly, the food is cheap, and cooked, and seasoned great. I always either get the fajita beef chimichanga, or the sumpreme nachos. My favorite part of going there after we eat is going to pay because the owner lupe is always behind the counter and she knows her regulars and talks with them and she asks them how their meal was. Lupes is by far my favorite mexican restuarnt, if i had any complaints about it is they should serve margaritas for when you want 1 on your birthday, but thats the only downside i have found about lupes. For those of you who like live music in the past year and a half they started doing live music.

Lupes is good, not great , but dependable Tex-Mex . Nothing stands out as wow but at the same time I've always had a good meal.

This nice little restaurant is on Douglas Blvd. between Reno and 15th St. There are many Mexican restaurants to eat at in Midwest City, but this one has them all beat. I have tried them all. Lupe's has the best chips and the most flavorful salsa. I love their chicken tacos and their chicken fajitas. The chicken is moist and the homemade flour tortillas are soft and tasty. The staff is very friendly. I usually get my food to go, and everything is packaged so when I get home I have a tasty meal. If you are wondering which the many Mexican restaurants to eat at here in Midwest City, just try Lupe's. They win on price, quality of food and customer service.
